Lunch He ordered: Sesame Tuna* Seured rare, ginger soy, seaweed salad, spicy mayo He said it was very nicely cooked and a nice tuna steak. Lots of Spicy mayo and the vegetables were crisp. I ordered: Fra Diavolo Mussels.. Garlic, shallots, tomatoes, spicy marinara, crostini Add linguini So good. This one is spicy! I am a fan of spicy, but not super spicy. This was a good warm spicy. Mussels were smaller but had good flavor. The linguini had soaked up the sauce/broth. Perfect. For Dinner He had the twin lobster dinner. He said he was glad he had both 2 1.5 lb lobsters, he was hungry. I ordered the seafood risotto I should've ordered the Mussels again. The risotto was very thick and rich. I felt like the overwhelming flavor was butter. I am not a big "butter" fan and I felt like it had no other flavors. There were 3 nice scallops & 3 big shrimp. They were tasty. We also tried the lobster Rangoon. They had nice flavor inside, but the extorted were a little over friend. That kind of took over the flavor of the inside. We didn't wait long for tables. Stopped by for lunch after our tall ship cruise. The oysters were super good and we enjoyed our fried fish sandwich. The cole slaw is pretty basic without much flavor. It's a nice dining room with lots of room. Our server was personable and made sure we had everything we needed. read more

We dined here for an early dinner with our toddler while in town after a day spent exploring Camden, shopping and driving to Mount Battie to admire the view. We came at around 5:30pm and avoided the crowd and were quickly and easily seated at a nice table with a waterfront view. They have a very nice patio facing the water as well but, it was too cold out for us that day despite their warmers. We tried the wedge salad, stuffed lobster, lobster wontons and a side of fries. The wedge was good and large in size but smothered in too much dressing. We ate about half of it but couldn't eat the rest bc it had far too much dressing on it. Stuffed lobster was phenomenal - I'm glad we tried it - served with potatoes and corn and stuffed with crab and bread and chorizo. Service was pretty good and the location is beautiful. read more

We had a wonderful evening at Peter Ott's, mainly due to our amazing server, Britt. She couldn't have been more accommodating and kind. The view was also lovely- right on the dock overlooking the harbor. My Manhattan was delicious and the calamari was delicious, as was the freshly baked bread. While killing time waiting for our Schooner Surprise tour at 3 pm to depart, we tried to order a round of drink to take to enjoy on their patio, this way we could keep an eye on as to when we needed to board the boat. The place was totally dead. Employee told us no - we had to go to the inside bar, unless we were planning to eat. Only then we could sit at a table outdoors. We stayed at a B&B and the owners suggested two restaurants and in more conversation with them decided on this one. We were told they don't take reservations and it would be a 10 minute drive so we came here and there was a 20 minute wait, which was fine for the six of us. The restaurant is right on the harbor with a beautiful view of the boats and water, which added to the experience. My wife loved her beet salad and totally was a clean plater. I had fish tacos which were just okay, nothing special. Our friends thought their burgers were good and each couple only finished maybe half their fries. Megan M was a good server and appeared to have lots of tables to serve. We talked with locals who said they come here anywhere from monthly to quarterly so it's a well liked place. Really cute place downtown on the water. We went mid October, so most the seasonal help was gone already, but the staff did great to still keep service awesome. The beet salad and mussels were delicious. The table next to us had the lobster and said it was great. And the blueberry margarita was a perfect toast to Maine. If there's a wait, there's plenty of shops to check out nearby to kill a bit of time. And the view is beautiful. read more

Delicious! The place was very busy, so we sat at the bar -- and I'm glad we did. I had the espresso martini and the blueberry lemon martini -- both absolutely delicious. The lobster corn chowder was loaded with huge chunks of lobster and full of flavor. Long time area resident -- 5 years since coming here. Today -- now I know why I don't come back. Small servings ($40 lobster roll and fish from fish and chips); lots of fries. Dry fish. The dockside setting is lovely, and our server was friendly and welcoming. My wife and I were looking forward to a traditional Maine lobster dinner and both ordered the twin lobsters, which were fresh, sweet, and delicious. Unfortunately, they were served completely unprepared--no pre-cracks in the claws or snips to the underside of the tail shell--making them surprisingly difficult to eat. We've enjoyed whole lobster at many restaurants over the years, from casual lobster shacks to fine dining establishments, and have never struggled this much to extract the meat. We were also surprised that only one order of corn on the cob and fingerling potatoes was initially served for the two of us. After we questioned it, our original server apologized and brought a second ear of corn, but both the corn and the potatoes were unfortunately overcooked. The audacity to call my wife a fat pig and that she shouldn't order as much. I hope the new owners dont allow this to happen. This is a cool spot located on the river and the ambiance is wonderful. We wanted to sit outside but the temperature had dropped so we opted for inside seating. We also tried to get a reservation but they were full so we waited about 20 minutes for a table. It was somewhat confusing to figure out the exact location of this place and parking was minimal and not convenient. I suggest walking or taking an Uber if possible or going early. We waited a long time at the bar for a glass of wine and I wish they would have had another person to help in that area as many were waiting for their spirits. We ordered side salads that were delicious and fresh. I ordered the lobster chowder and this was satisfying and a good serving. I would have loved more lobster but it was fine. My sister ordered the dockside burger and she enjoyed it. It was cooked well and was a good serving. We enjoyed our meal and visit here. read more

We have somehow neglected this restaurant on numerous vacations to the immediate area so this year we did our best to make amends. The location overlooking the harbor is beautiful and service throughout our meal was grand. We started off by sharing a delicious goat cheese and beet salad that included house pickled beets and onion on a base of arugula topped with a balsamic and honey dressing. Located right on the waterfront in downtown historic Camden, Peter Ott's is a casual eatery offering up local seafood and cuisine (with a great view). We arrived at around 6:15 and there was a wait to be seated outdoors and a short line to wait in for indoor seating. Our waitress was very friendly but seemed a bit overworked so her visits to our table to check-in were a bit infrequent. We went with the Lobster BLT and Lobster Alfredo per our server's advice and both were good. My sister enjoyed the BLT and the alfredo was good (and locally made) but other than the texture which gives it away, you wouldn't know you were eating lobster so I would probably save my money and just order the chicken alfredo if I ever make my way back. It's location and ambiance gave off tourist vibes (I didn't gather that a lot of locals were dining around us) so take that for what you will but it does offer diners a central location, waterfront views, and locally sourced food. read more

A truly sad visit. We've come to Camden for a week every fall for 5 years and always have a few lunches at Peter Ott's - lobster corn chowder and the lobster roll are always staples. Not sure if there's a new chef or the restaurant is cutting costs, but the quality has nosedived this year. The chowder looks nothing like it used to (as in the pics here) - potatoes were all a weird old brown all the way through, lobster was less generous and the texture didn't taste as fresh, and the broth was red like too many tomatoes or spices were added to mask the other ingredients. The lobster roll was similarly underwhelming. Fries were great, but that was it. Heartbroken if this is the new standard - used to be a favorite destination. read more

Came here for lunch based on Yelp recommendations. It is below the Grand Harbor Inn, right on the water. They had a seasonal Maine blueberry margarita that several at the table imbibed in. Very blueberry ish. I had a local beer. It was good. We ordered 2 lobster roils and a burger. The lobster rolls were small but well done. The market price was $35. The lemon aioli on the lobster was very nice. The sweet potatoe fries were amazing. The regular fries were good as well.
