A lot of hype, but not nearly as good as I expected. I love pizza and I have had it all over the world. I walked in to the place and got excited about what I was seeing. I ordered a slice that I just watched come out of the oven and here comes the let down, the toppings were only luke warm and a majority of them ended up on the plate when I tired to eat it. The crust was as crisp as a cracker and when you have a New York style slice it needs to be a little bendy so you can fold it (I do not like eating NY style pizza with a fork). The flavor, what I initially got in my mouth was just OK. It was kinda bland. My wife was very exited to eat here and when we left she made the comment about how she was disappointed with it and needed something else to eat. read more

Going here is a must. They are beyond kid friendly. The pizza is amazing. When we were having trouble deciding what to get, the server advised us to get 2 mediums and have them split amongst 4 types. Yum yum yum. I am not from Pacific NW. have lived in Bellingham 10+ years and despaired years ago of ever eating a yummy pizza in this corner of the world. I smelled Waterfront as we passed by on the sidewalk and told the husband I could tell from the lovely aroma this place has good pizza and we have GOT to eat some. I was dead right. We got the pesto, tomato, and mushroom, to which we added coppa. Divine! I ate 100% of each piece, including crust, which I usually toss as worthless whitebread carbs, but theirs was TASTY so I woofed it too!! Hubby & I returned 6 weeks later and got the pepperoni/ black olive/ mushroom. Also fantastic. This is now not only a must have whenever we visit Pt T but actually a reason in itself to return to Pt T. We love Waterfront Pizza!! read more

I am going of the assumption that my experience is not normal for this pizza restaurant. I am not suggesting you should try it The oven temp was to low so it the dough (thicker than expected.) was more baked than what I expect from a pizza oven. Great joint to run in if you have a quick lunch or dinner. They don't have a lot of room inside, so don't go with a big group. Sadly, they don't stay open that late either, so it's hard to get some late night deliveries if you want them. Still highly recommended. read more

We decided to eat here for lunch on a Thursday. We had heard good things about it. Wish we hadn't. We ordered a 12 inch meat pizza. We had to call the waitress over to get a drink order in and call her over to order or pizza. Looked like she was busy with her phone. When we ordered only one other couple was there. It took 50 minutes for our pizza to arrive at our table. It was ok pizza. I don't think it was worth the wait. Also thought it was expensive. $30 for 2 sodas and a 12 inch pizza. After receiving our pizza we again had to call her over to get a box and our bill. Horrible service. Won't go back. read more

The pizza was delicious but it goes downhill from there. The server was terrible - wouldn't make eye contact. I asked for hot tea and she brought me lukewarm water and a choice of 1 teabag. We ordered our pizza and then proceeded to wait. We actually didn't mind the wait but when the pizza finally came the server plopped it on our table and basically fled. We had ordered olives on half and got mushrooms instead. As people who don't eat mushrooms, this was a problem. I tried for five minutes to catch the server's eye but she was definitely avoiding us. I finally followed her to the back office and let her know about the mix-up. She kind of paused, and was like "...okay?" so I went back to my table figuring she would follow me. She did, with the order slip, and was like well I put the order in for olives. I said well we don't eat mushrooms and she said "What do you want me to do about it?" with serious attitude. I get that it wasn't her fault the kitchen screwed up but that was terrible service. Really all we wanted was to eat dinner. She finally said well what if you only eat the half that's right and we only charge you for half? Fine. She did eventually come back after checking downstairs and they comped the pizza, which was nice, but it would have been nice if A. they could have gotten it correct in the first place; or at the very least B. if she had been a little nicer--maybe a "oh I'm sorry, let me see what we can do to fix this". We went upstairs to eat pizza since the downstairs takeout was crowded. The tables were full and we waited. They told us to take a look at the menu and we decided on the Waterfront Pizza combo. I thought they would order pizza since it looked like the table was going to open in 15 to 20 mins. That was not the case. When we were seated we waited for an additional 35 mins for the pizza to come out. Once the pizza came out, the crust was burned and the topping was over cooked. It tasted very salty. Very disappointing...The service guy was trying to be pleasant but the overall experience was poor. Don't know why it has four stars. read more

Okay, I am a local, and I love their pizza, but the reports about their rude employees are so true. I was on the phone ordering pizza tonight and was about done, when I changed my mind and decided I wanted half the pizza to be pepperoni, and the other half the hawaiian special I had ordered already. Hey, I had a craving for pepperoni. So the guy sets the phone down, and recounts to another employee what my (extremely simple) change in order is, and follows it with "Are you F***ing kidding me?" in a tone of total disgust and annoyance. I'm sorry, but I worked in a pizza restaurant as a driver, cook, and assistant manager years ago, so I know that having to erase a few pencil marks and rewrite the order is NOT that taxing of a job, and not worth swearing about. Save it for the drunk guy who calls with 10 people in the background shouting ideas for pizza toppings, and changing it 10 times before settling on something. At very least, cover the phone if you're going to talk like that about your own customers. I asked the kid if he was f***ing kidding ME! :D I asked the supervisor to take a couple dollars off my pizza as a token of apology, but he said no, and said there was nothing he could do but tell the guy to quit talking like that. I didn't argue further because I still wanted to get my pizza and it wasn't worth it. I asked about talking to the actual manager/owner and he warned me that if I didn't call before 10am it would be a very unpleasant experience, and that she would say she doesn't have time for this. THIS is customer service at Waterfront Pizza. Just FYI. These are the people cooking my dinner! I felt compelled to (jokingly) ask the supervisor not to spit in my food, because they were totally annoyed with me at that point. Is amazing pizza worth all this? I guess so. The sourdough crust and their old style pizza oven is why I return, because I just can't do that in my own kitchen. The idea of taking my business elsewhere crossed my mind, but was quickly dismissed, so there ya go. :P I give them a grudging 3 stars for today. So I write my review here mostly to vent. Popular pizza place for good reason. We ordered a pizza to be delivered to our hotel. It took over an hour which we were told & were good with that. Pizza arrived pipping hot and delicious! We sat in the upstairs dining room. The waitress seemed surly and generally unfriendly. We ordered a pie and it took 30 minutes for a medium cheese pizza. When I asked the woman how much longer, she told me that all their pies take 30 minutes, as if I am supposed to know that information. She took our pizza to the wrong table and when they corrected her, she brought it our table. I ate at this place ten years ago and this was the first time since that time. There are a lot of eateries in Pt Townsend, I chose this place for myself and my girlfriend, while the food was good, the overall experience was a disappointment and I doubt I'll come back anytime soon. Yum! Their veggie veggie salad with their homemade dill dressing is to die for. So fresh, crunchy and awesome! A bit overwhelming at the slice counter (a bit new york style, loud and everyone hard at work in a tiny space) but head upstairs for a dining experience like none other. So family friendly with games at every table to pass the time. And their pizzas! So many options to choose from! I've been a customer of waterfront pizza since 1980. I like their pizza a lot. They could use a customer service seminar though. It's pretty hard to want to support a business that hangs up on you if you don't ask just the right question. Lanza's Pizza in Uptown is great and they always are nice to their customers. read more

DON'T EAT UPSTAIRS. HILARY, A WAITRESS IS HORRIBLE. We own a summer home here and we have been to this place several times, pizza is good. We mostly get one slice and go upstairs to eat where they also serve beer. This time, we decided to order a medium pizza because we were extra hungry. When we walked up the stairs, a young gentleman was standing at the top so we asked about how to order pizza upstairs. I asked "do you order upstairs or down" answer was "down". When asked "do you bring it upstairs for us or do we have to go back downstairs to get ourselves" answer was "you have to go down". So we went downstairs and ordered and went up to get a beer. When my husband brought the pizza up, I asked Hilary if we could get plates. She immediately said "you can't bring that up, I just turned people away for doing that". I explained that the young man told us that's how we order. He denied saying that so I called my husband over to verify the information. Hilary then told me to "stop yelling" (I certainly wasn't yelling" and that I was wrong and then PROCEEDED TO KICK US OUT for being "rude". Other people at the pizza place confirmed that this is "normal" for her. The guys downstairs were very nice and apologized for her. If you get pizza here, decide to eat upstairs, and see a waitress with dark hair and star tattoos on her neck, DO NOT SIT DOWN. This establishment needs to rethink their help upstairs. read more

I'm sorry but after reading the reviews I think I had way to high expectations. I'm stuck here waiting for my Boat to be repaired and ordered from them. I hate to say it but it was less than good, very thick heavy crust, hard dry sausage on top. I kept hoping for some flavor to show up but there was none. This was like the pizza you try to make at home with frozen bread, canned tomato sauce and fried over cooked meat that was drained and slapped on top. We stop here about once a year after we go camping at Fort Flagler. It's on the second floor and very small. Even so, we've never had to wait a long time for a table. Just be patient. The pizza is worth the wait. This time we had a large with pepperoni, olives and mushrooms. It was really good. Yummy pizza in a really, really casual space in the upstairs restaurant. The service was good, attentive and friendly. We ordered a 16" pizza, which was way too big for two adults and two small girls, but that's alright, we'll enjoy leftover pizza tomorrow. Wish I had seen another review before ordering, because they do use two crusts for the larger pizza. Our large was still crusty and cooked right, but I imagine the 12" might be even better! Waterfront Pizza makes a deliciously mean pizza at an affordable price in a wonderfully unpretentious atmosphere. Their beverages are also reasonably priced: .50 for tea and 1.00 for hot chocolate as example. I had a pizza with cajun sausage and coppa, and man it was good-Their crust is yummy as well. Now, I don't want to slam Seattle Pizza joints, but I'd be a happy camper if Waterfront came to Seattle. :) read more

Definitely the best pizza in town. The only thing I"ve learned is that a small is MUCH better than a large. I know they try not to, but the larges end up with a layered crust which doesn't cook as well. We get two smalls instead of a large because it tastes so much better. read more
