Update...passing through Sequim, this time with wife, on our way home from Port Angeles. Realized this time that the place is much bigger than I thought on my first visit...whole second room facing the street with lots of table seating that I hadn't even picked up on during my first visit! Also, we decided to sit outside since we had our pooch with us on this road trip. Staff/waiter/bartender was super cool asking if we wanted a bowl of water for our pup...which we did and thus found that super accommodating! Patio was spacious with several large picnic tables with umbrellas. It was a quiet time of day (mid-afternoon on a weekday) with not many patrons, so we basically had the entire patio to ourselves. Service was unexpectedly a little slow this visit...which was weird because there were probably only 3-4 other tables requiring service while we were there. I ordered their Meat Lovers and thoroughly enjoyed it once again. Love the flavors of the meats they use! Wife ordered their Margherita and it was pretty good...not knock your socks off good mind you...but better than average I would say. We continue to recommend the joint! One wonders why the restaurant can't do better. They seem to have a formula for a decent pizza. But, when I was there for a 9" take out Salsiccia pizza, the results were underwhelming. They were cooking pizzas furiously but their ovens were handling the load and their crusts were cooked perfectly. That's common problem at pizzerias when the pace is fast and furious; they tend to send the crust out uncooked. Not this place; their crust was delicious. The problem was that I ordered a Salsiccia, a sausage pizza and there was little or no sausage on the pizza. It was take out so I could not just return it. It wasn't horrible without sausage but it was not what I ordered. I have to ask myself why people would do this? It was a very simple thing to put sausage on the pizza so how could they forget it? Or did they do it on purpose because I only tipped $2.00? In my mind, 10% is a nice tip for TAKEOUT. After all, it is less than half the work for the staff if I take the Pizza home. Where is the special service in take out? The tips are not a way for a cheap employer to pay their employees; they are a bonus for taking good care of the customer. But, there is a minimum standard for taking care of the customer and giving them what they paid for is part of that minimum standard. I think they might have the formula for good pizza but I won't go back. read more

After kind of a weird day it was time to get some comfort food and what else comes to mind but pizza? Especially when we already know there is this amazing pizza place in town? We devoured this pizza the last time we were in Sequim, about a year ago, and decided to give it another go and see if they were just as good the second time around - they were. You need have no hesitation whatsoever in going here. Free parking and a very nice, casual vibe if you decide to eat inside. Very friendly staff who make sure to offer you a veteran's discount if applicable, which was very cool. And the pizza, being the main draw, although there are also the brews, is fantastic. Cooked just right, with just the right amount of crispy crust and toppings. We tried the prosciutto pizza and the pesto pizza. Both were amazing. You just can't go wrong here. read more

Jon and I shared a curry pizza and spinach/artichoke dip! The sour dough bread was super dense and super yummy. Since Jon is vegetarian, we asked the chef to push the meats over to my side! It was very well done! I could only eat three slices and Jon ate four slices so we actually had one piece left. We were glad to be offered a topochico which is a non alcohol flavored sparkling water. My headband and I ordered the meat lovers pizza and the chopped salad both were really delicious. The meat on the pizza is top notch and the crust is thin and perfectly chewy. The salad was fresh and the dressing was delicious as well. I particularly liked the honey mustard vinaigrette which was light and tangy and a perfect compliment to the salami in the salad. I visited on a Wednesday with my two kids (ages 10 and 12), and we were all very disappointed. Ambience: Very sparse and bare, not inviting. Service: You have to order at the bar, which wasn't clear to us as first-time visitors. I still left a 20% tip in hopes the service would improve, but our waitress never checked in or even gave us the time of day. I wanted to ask about changing the TV channel, but never got the chance. I guess she had us on ignore. Food: The pizza itself was good, but it took nearly 50 minutes to arrive--despite the restaurant being maybe 30% full at best. To make matters worse, my son's pizza did not arrive due to a chef error which broke it in half. Then the waitress explain they were remaking it. She said sometimes that happens. You have to cut the pizza in the pieces so why not bring it anyway? We would've eaten it. We were so hungry! Overall, we left disappointed and agreed we won't return. Sorry, Bar Hop--looks like your focus is more on pizza, beer, and TV for an older crowd than on families looking for a good dining experience. read more

2nd time to give them a chance. The first time, quite a while ago, I ordered a Veggie Pesto. Little resemblance to pesto with hard to find basil. This time: the "Margherita" with extras like tomato, mushrooms, garlic. I believe I also ordered caramelized onions, roasted peppers. Except for 3 whole garlic cloves, everything else was hard to find. The basil came in a separate small cup and that was not as stingy as my first pizza. I found 2 very thinly sliced mushroom pieces the size of my fingernail. Out of a can? ( smallest I have ever seen of the standard white mushroom). Cheese not noticeable. Only a tiny envelope of Parmesan. To sum it up: the worst pizza I ever came across. Calling it "artisan" is a joke. I had a 9" and paid over $20. Sorry, but I had to post this. Pizza: Outstanding. Loved the pizza so much I came back twice in the same weekend. Excellent bubbled, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside perfectly-proofed crust. Their Bechamel makes a lovely white base. So good I never tried the red sauce. The first night I ordered from the menu; the second night I created my own to pair with the beer I'd come back to drink. Salad: apparently the "Meaty Caprese" (chopped tomato, basil, and fresh mozzarella with thinly sliced salami over greens served with olive oil and balsamic reduction) isn't on the menu. But the manager said it was her favorite. Delicious when served, and for breakfast the next morning. Beer: The only one I tried was the Judge Porter. Fantastic story behind the name. Lovely well-balanced Porter with both bitter and sweet-toast notes. I liked the sample I tried so well the first night I came back for a glass the second. Service: General Manager Laurie is a delight. She takes care of everyone promptly without making anyone feel rushed. She carefully and cheerfully took a phone order with substitutions and greets everyone in such friendly fashion. read more

Popped in over the weekend with my wife and son. Service was amazing. We didn't catch her name but she was friendly attentive and on the ball. Very helpful and quick. We had the meat mania and cheese pizza , pretty standard but my boy was stoked. He loved his pizza and being allowed to sit on a stool. We had their fresh made root beer. Solid. Real Artesian Pizza. No relationship to the frozen box pizza you find in most pizza places. Great bartenders, friendly people. We usually sit at bar and meet anyone next to us. The verdict is in! This is the most freak'n delicious oven-fired Neapolitan pizza that I have ever had- period! Hands down amazing. The preselected play list is pretty amazing, so of course I ordered a build your own sausage pie. My wife, who claims to be smarter than me (and she is, just a bit, and no,I'll never admit it) ordered their classic margerita (sp from the menu) and holy majolie! This is pizza crack! The crust is light, but dense and chewy, but not too much. It cracks a bit under the pressure of the finger's grip. The bottom of the pie wasn't soggy and held its shape as it was raised from the tray it was cooked in- apparently that is a thing, so say my wife. The tomato sauce is just right on, not too sweet and not too savory, just a delicate balance of flavors that delight the soul. Oh man, and the smell! Oh the smell of pizza baking in that amazing oven fills the room and grabs your nose right when you walk in the door- We'll hello, smell it in and enjoy. They also have a great beer list on tap- my fav is the Reflector- sorry, I'm not looking for lots of hopps with my pizza, just a brew to compliment it- and of course... everyone has a different taste palette. What a great place. It's basically brand new (December) and definitely worth a visit or visits.
