AVOID THIS PLACE!! Waterfront harbour has an ideal location and a beautiful large patio looking on to the harbour. We came in, while waiting for the harbour hopper tour, to an empty front area of the restaurant. We were greeted pretty quickly. We asked to sit on the patio. They said the patio was full but they could sit us at the bar along the wall outside. That was great for us. We waited another 5-7min for a different host to come and seat us. We were greeted fairly quickly by the server and ordered a the local cider in a can and a pint of Keith's with 6 Oysters because I assumed it was a quick item to order. When our drinks finally arrived my glass with ice for the cider had lipstick marks on it, dirt on the rim and what looked like my servers blond hair in the glass. My hair is dark brown, so I New it wasn't mine. Our oysters took 25min to arrive. We had asked for our bill when we ordered everything because we had about 30min Until we had to leave. My husband didn't see his beer glass was dirty until he drank a quarter of it. It was soooooooo filthy I was shocked that the bartender would have poured beer into it!! We asked for the beer to be replaced into a clean glass, not even a full beer just to the mark that he drank the disgusting dirty beer to. I had already paid our bill at this point because we were in a rush and they brought the beet back...... not a full beer but actually to the point where he drank too. There was no apology from the service staff - nothing! Now I'm in the service industry and I understand that is where we asked it to be poured to but the fact that I had already paid and it left minimal areas for them to recover the guests experience I would have given us a full beer or something to say sorry. Or actually said sorry!!! My husband and I returned to our hotel later that evening and both ended up sick. If you are ever travelling to Halifax I would avoid this restaurant completely!!!!! read more

We had a nice late lunch here recently and didn't see any of the other Yelpers negatives. Lobster roll and Mac n cheese were very good, crab cake good. Nice beer selection, waitress was pretty and attentive. I would definitely go back. read more

We asked for seafood recommendations and this place came the most highly recommended, so we decided to give it a try despite the fact that it was rather crowded that day (there were 2 cruise ships in port). There was a nice outdoor patio, but thankfully the inside was just as breezy. When I saw the orders of lobster passing by, I knew I had to have one. Not having a good sense of size, I got talked into a 2.25 lb. lobster, which turned out to be way too big for me to eat by myself. Nonetheless, it was delicious; it didn't even need any butter, and it wasn't the slightest bit rubbery like the lobster you get on the west coast (it was only overshadowed by the lobster I had in Maine the next day). I appreciated how the (live) lobster was presented to me for my inspection before it was cooked. I saw another couple order a lobster that was almost as big as the whole table. Meanwhile, Vince got an order of crab cakes and a seafood bouillabaisse. Both were excellent; to this day we are still talking about those crab crakes. With our food we also had a few glasses of a local Nova Scotia white wine, though we just as easily could have had locally made beer as well. My Waterfront Warehouse experience left me feeling, for lack of better word... meh. On the positive side, they were able to seat a fairly large group of us, and the meal I had wasn't horrible, but that's pretty much where the positives end. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant, yet we watched 5 or 6 servers mull around the bar for about 20-30 minutes before anyone came to take our orders. When our beer arrived, it was flat and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The menu itself was limited, and everything is WAY overpriced (likely to take advantage of the summer tourists). If you're going with a big group, have lobster on your agenda, and don't mind spending a fair amount of money for some pretty average food, then this place will be fine for you, but it's certainly not the best that the Halifax waterfront has to offer. read more

We came in looking for a place to eat dinner, and were pleasantly surprised. The waitress was kind and funny, and their Lobster Mac And Cheese was to DIE for. The only problem I had was that the serving of calamari was a bit lacking for the price. But still, definitely one of the best places to eat if you're down by the Halifax Waterfront. read more

The location looks fantastic with a wonderful spacious atmosphere on the inside and deck. Unfortunately, the service leaves a lot to be desired. I had arrived for a dinner reservation early and was encountered by a very rude chubby man asking why I was trying to go inside. I politely said that I have a reservation to meet my friends, he grumbled and walked off to look at the book and came back stating that we do not have one. He was intensely rude. I met my friends outside and we went back in to get a table and they stated they could not serve our children. We asked if they could put us on the deck and they stated it was not set up. As a born and bred Scotian, I'm giving you tourists fair warning: this place lacks any love or authenticity. There are many more truly authentic Nova Scotian dining experiences that are far more worthy of your dollar. You just have to be willing to venture off the boardwalk a little bit. Me and my girlfriend stopped by for lunch and a few beers the other day while checking out the jazz festival. I should have gone with my gut and kept on walking, as I already knew from experience this place is just one of the many overpriced, overhyped "Authentic Nova Scotian" dining experiences geared toward unsavvy tourists that plague the waterfront. I ordered the lobster roll and "fresh cut chips" for $16 hard earned dollars. There MIGHT have been one or two knuckles on the whole underwhelming sandwich. And this is a powerful statement, but as a Nova Scotian who has indulged in more then a few lobster rolls, I am almost positive it was cut with canned lobster.. If it wasn't, I'm sure this speaks on the quality of what was on my plate anyways. 16 bucks should atleast fetch a claw dont you think? It was 35 degrees celcius that day, and my fresh chips were cold... They practically tasted of the steel mixing bowl that they were probably incubating in 2 hours prior. Girlfriend ordered the chicken club. It came with no lettuce, no tomato and no coleslaw... Enough said on that. I went here this past weekend for a beer on the patio, which was lovely and not crowded. It was so nice that we thought we'd head back later and sit in the restaurant for lunch/dinner. The inside seating area is so nice! It has a vintage grand room, mansion on the ocean feel. Does that make sense? Sure it does. I loved the atmosphere, but you know what I didn't love? The prices. I get it. It's a tourist trap and the number one rule is tourism is charge double. Sometimes I don't mind paying through the nose food on the waterfront, but I expect at least pub quality food. We ordered the artichoke and crab dip, it came in this tiny bowl with kettle chips. Kettle chips for dipping... No. Just no. They tasted and looked like the brunt left overs in a deep fryer. The dip itself was good though, so there was that. We also order calamari. My summer 2015 staple. I think I've ordered this at every place possible in the HRM so trust me when I say... It was middle of the road. I probably won't come here again unless it's beer in their patio area. read more

Paid 69 bucks for the seafood tower for about 4 ounces of food. I felt like a damn raccoon crawling through a dumpster looking for scraps. I burnt more calories working for the food than what I got from the meal! Worst seafood experience in my life! There was a bee harassing us during the meal. Our first visit was awesome, sat outside without a wait, ate very fresh seafood (fish n chips, a petite Niçoise salad), drank cold beer and had amazing service from a great waiter with whom we shared a nice chat. Later that week, we returned with a large group and had an entirely different experience- long wait, lack of staff- we had to pursue our food more than once after it came intermittently over an hour. Moral of the story, use your judgement. If the wait is long, seek lunch elsewhere since they may not be able to handle a full, peak season tourist onslaught. read more

This restaurant is situated in an old tugboat repair warehouse, the ambience is quite nice and the outdoor patio is just bustling. There is plenty of parking here, although we walked here. The menu was eclectic and full of seafood and non-seafood options. I got the chopped salad with black bean, garbanzo beans and shaved cheese ($12) and shared the blackened haddock (22$). The haddock was well done although a bit dry on the edges, the ravioli was scrumptious but small portioned. Overall, the restaurant struck chord with me, esp the ambiance. BIG plus for the fact that you can eat outside and enjoy the view of Halifax and the harbor. The staff was friendly and also very good with suggestions particularly with respect to their selection of oysters (which was impressive). The food was good, but you pay a lot for it. We ate here a few times and the only thing I didn't like was the lobster roll...too much mayo and other junk that overshadows the gorgeous taste of lobster. This is the one restaurant or bar that we went to multiple times on our 4 night trip to Halifax. It is a warehouse that made boats or something at one point in time that was remade into a restaurant so there is a very rustic feel. The music was soothing and place was very comfortable. Food wasn't amazing, but it was very good. There is a separate menu for oysters and a very large selection of fresh seafood dishes. If I return to Halifax, I will be sure to stop in here again. read more

The food was pretty good...service was decent. They weren't busy and only saw our waiter when the food was delivered. Ordered oysters Rockefeller and had 3 oysters for $16 when oysters are $2.99 each..basically I paid eight bucks for a bit of breadcrumbs and spinach. We stopped by this place quite by chance, we just wanted a drink and oysters. The server, Jenna, was who kept us there, She recommended a really good wine and was the most plaisant hostess ever. She suggested the right oysters and when we could not decide what we wanted as side dishes for our lobster, suggested a compromise that met our wishes. Had the lobster dinner set with a large tour group of colleagues. First they served some coleslaw and potato salad - can't expect much from these sides. Then all of the lobsters were served at the same time to the entire restaurant - the servers paraded around the restaurant with platters and piles of boiled lobster and corn and it was quite entertaining. The lobster itself turned out to be extremely over cooked, making it very tough and chewy - simply ruining it. At this price ($70+ so maybe it was a tour price? I'm not sure) I expected a lot more. Stopped in while our cruise ship was docked in Halifax. Our host/server was a young man who couldn't have been more pleasant and welcoming. Wife had the seafood chowder and I was craving steamed mussels. Both were really good. Our host/server was excellent and shared some great information about the lobster industry in Halifax. We ate lobster rolls in Boston MA, Bar Harbor ME, St. John NB, and this place served by far the worst lobster roll. It was so bad we would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The 5 Star rating we gave it is based on the seafood chowder (the best we have ever eaten) with large identifiable chunks of 5-6 kinds of seafood. We each had a large bowl with bread and we washed everything down with pints of the local beer. We would return to Halifax just to repeat this experience. We were 4 people and only one of us enjoyed his food. There were many issues with the service. It took the server almost 20 minutes to get us to seat that was not yet clean, while the restaurant was full of empty tables that were not yet cleaned. The variety of main dishes was really small and it was difficult to find something for my parents that are somehow restricted. My main dish (Clams) that cost $30 had only 6 or 7 clams, on a pile of mashed potatoes and unflavored carrots, and I was still hungry when I finished it. The small amount of clams that I had were not soft enough. Just for comparison, the following day I had the same amount of clams as a side dish in a restaurant in Lunenburg for $7 that was much better than the $30 dish in the Waterfront Warehouse. read more
