Great environment, good food, great service. We ordered the brisket sliders as an appetizer first, and they were delicious. I ordered the small burger and fries, while my husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich and macaroni. The bacon jam on the burger was delicious and the chicken on the sandwich was perfectly cooked. I will say the fries and the macaroni were a let down. The macaroni was the plainest I've ever had. I also ordered the bacon and corn soup, and that was delicious.

Absolutely spectacular restaurant. The Chef has pushed the boundaries with his creativity and culinary excellence. I was blown away by the Monkfish Osso Buco ! Added the Brussel Sprouts as a side and wow wow wow. Service was outstanding with Katie !

From start to finish, I had a very good time at Watermill Kitchen + Bar. The server was excellent - checking up the right amount of time - and communicating well with the status of our food and drinks. The flat bread appetizer was excellent with unique flavors of grilled peach and goat cheese. I absolutely loved the brisket sliders and will be back to have those again. I will rave about them to anyone. My cocktail was delicious with the right balance of sweet, but not too sweet. I had to limit myself to just one, but could have had another. The dessert of bread pudding was very good and I'd be happy to try something else on their list next time. I found the decor very upscale and pleasant and while I did not sit outside, their outdoor dining area looked spacious and nice. I think this is an impressive restaurant in the Hyatt and should definitely be a consideration for evening drinks and apps.

We had a pleasant dining experience at Watermill Kitchen & Bar last night. The place was very clean, well-lit, and featured a partially open kitchen, which added a nice touch. The service was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the roasted chicken with fries and the short ribs with sautéed cabbage, apples, and mashed potatoes. Both dishes were tender, which we appreciated, though a bit under-seasoned for our taste. While we enjoyed the meal, we'd love to see more flavors and enhancements on the menu to really make the dishes pop. The appetizer selection felt a bit lackluster--if they could elevate that aspect and overall flavors, we could see this place packed every night. And for the life of me, I still can't figure out why cheese curds are such a staple here in Iowa! Thank you for a lovely evening, and please keep us posted on any new menu items. We'd be open to exploring more!

I absolutely love the Watermill Kitchen + Bar! It's truly a hidden gem, tucked inside the Hyatt Regency Coralville. The restaurant has been fully remodeled and it's nothing short of stunning. Beyond its beautiful design, the food is amazing! I'm a big fan of their $12 Pick 2 lunch special--my favorite is the Turkey Reuben paired with the Sweet Potato + Kale Salad. I could honestly eat it every day! Plus, they're incredibly accommodating for my gluten-free diet, which can be hard to find. The menu clearly marks gluten-free options, and they're always happy to swap in gluten-free bread or buns for sandwiches. The Watermill is also a great spot for business lunches. They have a gorgeous private dining room that seats about 14, making it ideal for meetings. A few other favorites of mine: - Chicken Bacon Flatbread (GF with sweet potato crust) - Watermill Smash Burger (with a GF bun - the bacon jam is amazing!) - Crème Brûlée (GF) If you're in the area, definitely check it out!

They're cooked in a way that they have a flavor I didn't love. That part I did not finish. But the server was wonderful. She could not have been nicer and more professional. She made our experience great. The server on the first night we came here was also great. They have great servers. The place has a high end bar and grill atmosphere. Instead of splitting apps, we both had the same app: beef tartare. It was one of the best tatteres i've ever had. And I love this dish. We each ordered a pasta as our main. My friend loved his. The $50 sirloin steak was served cold. Because our waitress, Grace H, failed to even ask how our food was the entire time until after we had eaten everything I couldn't even send it back. I spent the entire time trying to make eye contact with her but she was busy taking new tables. When she finally came to ask how our food was and was told, her response was I will let the kitchen know. Not "I will bring you another plate" or even discount or comp the entree. Not what you'd expect from Iowa city's fine dining flagship. The prices were not just expensive, but over the top expensive. $50 for an 8 ounce sirloin. $56 for 12 average oysters. To be honest it's below average in value to a nice restaurant in LA, NY or Chicago. They may thrive because the IC elite doesn't have many options for upscale dining. But for someone who has lived in those cities and eaten at Michelin star culinary venues this place is lacking in both food and service for the prices they charge. It was enough of a bad experience that I will never be back. There's Chez Grace, Joseph's and 126 which offer quality food, much better value and food service. Posting my food pics and the receipt to see what $200 gets you here.

My friend from work and I came here tonight. Wow. They have an informal lounge downstairs and a more formal dining room upstairs. The lounge has the same menu plus a lounge menu. So we chose more choice. The lounge was kinda dark and it's not fancy. But it's clean and open. It's fine. The server was terrific. Ash accommodated our need for separate checks (for us each to bill for our meal). She was attentive and pleasant. I asked her what she liked better between a couple of things and she gave me an honest answer. I followed her recommendation, The beet salad was lovely. the dressing had some goat cheese in it and was delicious. The fresh beets on the side really worked with the dressing. My friend got the cheese platter to start and there was lots of cheese. He loved it. He got the lounge version of the salmon, which he thought was great. I got the Artic Char, which was delicate and phenomenal. It was topped with pieces of lobster and caviar like eggs. The fish was delicate and the sauce rich, but not overpowering. It was delightful. We both loved our meals and highly recommend Orchard Green.

Both were pretty average, with the Dickinson being the better of the two. Surprisingly, the French fries ended up being the highlight of the meal--not something I normally feel the need to mention, but they stood out more than the entrées. One thing to note: bring your own condiments. They charge $1 for a small ranch cup, which was a bit of a letdown. Overall, I'd probably skip Stella's when visiting Iowa City.
