I personally am not a big fan of rice cakes despite being Korean. But this place redefines rice cakes and now I'm in love. Really good price & quality + the owners super friendly to foreigners as well. Must try!

The Korean rice cakes you see on TV (most are made with rice) are all delicious. It is a traditional food eaten on Korean holidays or commemorative occasions.

"They made the food with absolutely no care or effort."

"This place is truly marked by rudeness, arrogance, and a poor attitude." "The food is laughably bad."

Picked up the special rice cakes and some vegetable side dishes for Korean Thanksgiving on my way home. As per other reviews, can confirm that there's no need to look for "old rice cake shops owned/runned by grandma or senior-ladies in LA Koreatown" as this place is legit and serves one of the best tasting "traditional rice cakes" in SoCal. Was an extremely pleasant experience with lots of happy smiles offered as bonus (perhaps they read the other reviews?) and the food was absolutely yummy.

Always smile with sales!! Best tasting rice cake in best packaging. Kimbap here is really good, too.

    Rice cake with hair strand...

This is really disappointing. We get their rice cakes from a grocery store and after my child took a bite from it a hair strand came out. She literally asked what this was. I was thinking this can't be real but it was. The hair was literally colored in green due to color of the rice cake. Especially, during the times of this pandemic it made me very uncomfortable seeing a hair stand. And, most importantly the fact that my child ate out of it.

Growing up and living with my grandma, I didn't get to eat pies, ice cream sundaes, cookies for dessert like my classmates for they had grandmas like Mrs. Marie Callendar. Instead I had to eat the traditional Korean dessert/snack, called duk, which is a variety of non sweet/semi-sweet rice cakes often served at birthdays, get togethers, New Year's Day and special events. You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tteok Trust me, from a kid's perspective, pies and ice cream were a 100 times better than duk. Right when you walk in the back parking lot door, (front door is blocked by storage carts) you can't go more than 10 steps. That is how cramped and small it is. Then most likely, the manager or owner, will come out and help you. Watermill Rice Cake mainly offers duk, kimchi, various other side dishes, and kimbap (Korean rice rolls). I forgot how much the kimbap rolls were (most likely $4 even). Soybean paste in a half gallon glass jar is $15 to make stew. Probably will last a few years since it doesn't expire. As Thanksgiving approaches, and to get a sense of a Korean familiy Thanksgiving dinner (if they do celebrate the beloved holiday), common entrees will most likely include turkey, kimchi as a side, and duk as dessert. Although my sweet tooth will never go away, I can appreciate the one dessert I neglected eating. Why? It's tradition. And it happens to by my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving...#koreanstyle.

I ordered a rice cake cake for my baby's 100th day and it was nothing short of perfect. Easy order, easy pick up, great service, and tasty food. So pleased!

I've tasted every variety of Korean rice cakes but the ones on the bottom... I drive 4 hours from another state to buy these. Seriously.

I had never tried Botox before in my life, but I decided to get it for the first time yesterday as well. I don't think the results have shown yet, so I'm planning to post a review once they do. Since we were already in Orange County, we stopped by a bakery at the Source Mall. I bought several pastries there. The fresh cream bread was very delicious. I didn't try the custard cream bread because my younger brothers ate it, so I can't really comment on the taste. I also haven't tried the pecan pie yet. Lately, Dubai chocolate cookies have been extremely popular and trendy, so I asked whether this bakery had them. They said yes, so I bought one for $6.75. However, when I tried it this morning, it was absolutely not a Dubai chocolate cookie. It was basically just a chocolate pie. There was no pistachio flavor at all, and no pistachios inside--just a very ordinary chocolate pie. That part was extremely disappointing. Also, yesterday I asked the bakery if they could provide paper plates so we could cut and share the pastries, but she said they didn't have any. Other bakeries usually provide paper plates, so it was disappointing as well.

I got so many pastries. There were no misses. My favorite of the bunch was the blueberry cake. The cake wasn't too sweet, was moist, fluffy, and tasty. I enjoyed the matcha cheesecake, garlic sea salt bread, and raspberry cruffin as well. I also grabbed an egg bacon bread and regular sea salt bread to-go for future breakfasts. Warmed up, these were great in the morning! To drink I had the Banana Pudding Matcha Latte which was not too sweet and yummy! Good matcha flavor and the banana pudding was creamy. Mixed together, it was good. I also enjoyed the crunchy bits in there as well as the real banana slices. I got it at the small size, but the portion was generous. It went well with the pastries. There's some inside seating and tables as well as a bathroom available. There is lots of free parking around the bakery. I went in the afternoon on a Sunday and it was still packed! I love how the bakers were constantly baking even in the afternoon, so they brought out fresh batches of their pastries. The store is not on the ground floor and it's also not located within the Bakery Cafe or the food hall on the second floor. It's actually on the 3rd floor right off of the escalator inside of another food court type establishment. I ended up walking in circles and within their various corridors looking for the mall map on all three floors looking for Yozm. The saving grace was that their donuts were worth the trek and hassle. It has loads of fluffy and not too sweet whipped cream and also not too sweet sugar dusted donuts encasement. I loved both the bananas cream and strawberry cream donuts. I wouldn't mind returning just to get some more donuts and also grab some matcha latte nearby. The service here isn't the friendliest or the most helpful. I had to ask for a bag despite purchasing a box of donuts along with other pastries that was on display. Really unthoughtful knowing I was expected to walk through the mall without my items bagged. The bakery area has ample seating inside where you can go ahead and devour your donuts and other drinks you might wanna grab from nearby cafe. My only mild complaint is that the timed order- for-later request did not seem to make too big a difference, as my drink was probably ready 25 minutes early. Better early than late, though! Staff were friendly and informative as always. Shop had a few customers seated inside and outside, so there was plenty of room to study or sit a while. Yet recently I've been coming and truly haven't been enjoying it the same. I used to come and study or work as I enjoyed their drinks and baked goods. The environment is usually buzzing with more people working or studying or groups of people talking. Their pastries are always good and yummy which is a BIG hit. Yet I am a big coffee person, the quality of the coffees and drinks have gone down hill a lot. I would always order the Campfire latte or the Smoking Spaniard latte (when it still had cardamom in it) and would LOVE it. But now when I order drinks, most of them aren't very good or are missing flavors. The Smoking Spaniard is still yummy yet it used to be sooo much better back in the day, now it taste more like a regular spanish latte. I always see the new seasonal drinks and menu and get so excited to try them just incase I find a new favorite. Most of them have been a miss sadly :( The fruit lattes and drinks from their seasonal menu usually has actual chunks of fruit in it which makes it hard to drink and you have to chew while drinking a latte ;( not my fave. I went in yesterday to try their summer '26 seasonal drinks which is Yakult! I was sooo excited. A blueberry Yakult matcha latte! yummy! I got there, got a new earl grey lemon loaf from the bakery, got my blueberry Yakult matcha latte and sat down to try. Sadly, it didn't hit... the blueberries are still super chunky so I had to use 2 different straws because my first one got stuck with blueberries in it. The Yakult foam was really good but the blueberries weren't :( I HIGHLY recommend when making fruit syrups for coffee, boil down the fruit and blend it or strain out the big pieces. I sadly have stopped really coming to Smoking Tiger so often because I haven't been impressed and other coffee shops have been popping up that has better quality now :( Smoking Tiger has been focusing more on quantity of stores rather than quality of their food and drinks.

From the gold and white décor to the soft jazz playing throughout the café, the entire space feels elegant, peaceful, and welcoming. One thing I really enjoyed was the self-serve bakery experience. You grab a tray when you walk in and choose from a selection of fresh pastries, breads, croissants, cookies, macarons, cakes, pies, tarts, and so much more. There truly is something for everyone. I ordered the Honey Lavender Matcha and a chocolate muffin and spent about 11bucks. Let me just say, both were excellent. The matcha was perfectly balanced with earthy matcha, honey, and lavender without being overly sweet. The chocolate muffin was soft, moist, and filled with a rich chocolate center that made every bite even better. I also appreciated the attention to cleanliness and presentation. Many of the fresh bakery items were individually wrapped and sealed, while others were beautifully displayed behind glass, giving the café a polished and upscale feel. What really stood out to me was the value. I spent less here than I had at another coffee shop earlier that week, yet left feeling like I received so much more. The quality, atmosphere, food, and overall experience made it feel like money well spent. Whether you're looking for a place to study, work remotely, enjoy a coffee date, meet a friend, or simply treat yourself, Tous Les Jours is absolutely worth a visit.
