I personally am not a big fan of rice cakes despite being Korean. But this place redefines rice cakes and now I'm in love. Really good price & quality + the owners super friendly to foreigners as well. Must try!

The Korean rice cakes you see on TV (most are made with rice) are all delicious. It is a traditional food eaten on Korean holidays or commemorative occasions.

"They made the food with absolutely no care or effort."

"This place is truly marked by rudeness, arrogance, and a poor attitude." "The food is laughably bad."

Picked up the special rice cakes and some vegetable side dishes for Korean Thanksgiving on my way home. As per other reviews, can confirm that there's no need to look for "old rice cake shops owned/runned by grandma or senior-ladies in LA Koreatown" as this place is legit and serves one of the best tasting "traditional rice cakes" in SoCal. Was an extremely pleasant experience with lots of happy smiles offered as bonus (perhaps they read the other reviews?) and the food was absolutely yummy.

Always smile with sales!! Best tasting rice cake in best packaging. Kimbap here is really good, too.

    Rice cake with hair strand...

This is really disappointing. We get their rice cakes from a grocery store and after my child took a bite from it a hair strand came out. She literally asked what this was. I was thinking this can't be real but it was. The hair was literally colored in green due to color of the rice cake. Especially, during the times of this pandemic it made me very uncomfortable seeing a hair stand. And, most importantly the fact that my child ate out of it.

Front entrance you'll see on Beach Blvd., but enter through the back because it's blocked off.

Growing up and living with my grandma, I didn't get to eat pies, ice cream sundaes, cookies for dessert like my classmates for they had grandmas like Mrs. Marie Callendar. Instead I had to eat the traditional Korean dessert/snack, called duk, which is a variety of non sweet/semi-sweet rice cakes often served at birthdays, get togethers, New Year's Day and special events. You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tteok Trust me, from a kid's perspective, pies and ice cream were a 100 times better than duk. Right when you walk in the back parking lot door, (front door is blocked by storage carts) you can't go more than 10 steps. That is how cramped and small it is. Then most likely, the manager or owner, will come out and help you. Watermill Rice Cake mainly offers duk, kimchi, various other side dishes, and kimbap (Korean rice rolls). I forgot how much the kimbap rolls were (most likely $4 even). Soybean paste in a half gallon glass jar is $15 to make stew. Probably will last a few years since it doesn't expire. As Thanksgiving approaches, and to get a sense of a Korean familiy Thanksgiving dinner (if they do celebrate the beloved holiday), common entrees will most likely include turkey, kimchi as a side, and duk as dessert. Although my sweet tooth will never go away, I can appreciate the one dessert I neglected eating. Why? It's tradition. And it happens to by my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving...#koreanstyle.

I ordered a rice cake cake for my baby's 100th day and it was nothing short of perfect. Easy order, easy pick up, great service, and tasty food. So pleased!

I've tasted every variety of Korean rice cakes but the ones on the bottom... I drive 4 hours from another state to buy these. Seriously.

I had the pleasure of tasting Windmill's rice cakes at a Korean Church function and discovered a flavor that I'd never seen nor tasted before. I'm not even sure what's all in it but it's freaking incredible. So since my first taste, I now drive 4 hours from another state every few months to get my fix. I've read other posters complain about poor customer service and whatnot but whenever I go I see the women working their asses off! So today after driving 4 hours, my first stop was Windmill bakery and I'll stop there again tomorrow before returning home. I highly recommend this eatery. They have homemade kimbop, banchans, and rice cakes galore.

I had never tried Botox before in my life, but I decided to get it for the first time yesterday as well. I don't think the results have shown yet, so I'm planning to post a review once they do. Since we were already in Orange County, we stopped by a bakery at the Source Mall. I bought several pastries there. The fresh cream bread was very delicious. I didn't try the custard cream bread because my younger brothers ate it, so I can't really comment on the taste. I also haven't tried the pecan pie yet. Lately, Dubai chocolate cookies have been extremely popular and trendy, so I asked whether this bakery had them. They said yes, so I bought one for $6.75. However, when I tried it this morning, it was absolutely not a Dubai chocolate cookie. It was basically just a chocolate pie. There was no pistachio flavor at all, and no pistachios inside--just a very ordinary chocolate pie. That part was extremely disappointing. Also, yesterday I asked the bakery if they could provide paper plates so we could cut and share the pastries, but she said they didn't have any. Other bakeries usually provide paper plates, so it was disappointing as well.

For this first trip, I found myself enchanted by the more traditional Korean pastries - the sweet potato creamy red bean bun, the curry croquette, the salt breads and rice crackers (one of their most popular items they said.) Most everything costs between $3-5. What a steal! I ordered their new item -- a banana latte made with their own banana syrup and cold foam to go with a double shot of espresso. It was tasty though seeing the old timers with their hot brewed coffees and bean buns made me wish I'd gotten something hot too. All in all, I had a great time at Cafe Bleu and can't wait to come back and try some new things. There are lots of tables and plenty of room to meet up with friends or work or do your homework.

The store is not on the ground floor and it's also not located within the Bakery Cafe or the food hall on the second floor. It's actually on the 3rd floor right off of the escalator inside of another food court type establishment. I ended up walking in circles and within their various corridors looking for the mall map on all three floors looking for Yozm. The saving grace was that their donuts were worth the trek and hassle. It has loads of fluffy and not too sweet whipped cream and also not too sweet sugar dusted donuts encasement. I loved both the bananas cream and strawberry cream donuts. I wouldn't mind returning just to get some more donuts and also grab some matcha latte nearby. The service here isn't the friendliest or the most helpful. I had to ask for a bag despite purchasing a box of donuts along with other pastries that was on display. Really unthoughtful knowing I was expected to walk through the mall without my items bagged. He couldn't muster any effort to look professional or attempt not looking visibly annoyed. The bakery area has ample seating inside where you can go ahead and devour your donuts and other drinks you might wanna grab from nearby cafe. I wouldn't mind returning again just because it's a little bit more convenient to get my fluffy cream donuts fix from here. But for now, I still prefer m going way out to Century City at the Knotted, which I 150% prefer.

Honey Bori Latte is one of my favorite seasonals anywhere! Loved it as intended at full sweetness (not too sweet) and still loved it at less sweet (recommend if enjoying with a bread or pastry imo). I like most specialty barley drinks. Default is dairy, so I assume there would still be some even if made with oat milk ($1 extra). I love the crunchy wheat snack topping, and it kind of reminds me of the cocoa puff topping in that black caf latte in Dland/Galaxy's edge. Will be back!
