Seed Water is a Korean Coffee Shop at the Source OC in Buena Park. This tends to be my choice when I need a meetup spot for a large group. They have tons of options for lattes, pastries and baked goods. I like their banana latte; however, it has that familiar banana candy flavor that people either love or hate. I think the lattes are fine; however, this is not where I'd be going for drips and single origin coffees. For the baked goods and pastries, I think they're ok; however, their pizza breads were popular with the kids in our group. The sweets weren't what I prefer as the cakes felt a little dense and lightly sweet; however, everyone has their preferences. Overall, my reasoning for coming here is more for their space than for their food or drink; however, their food and drink options aren't bad. read more

Salt bread... tough and stiff. 85 degree has better salt bread. We've had them in Korea and these at S&W are not good. Next the system of ordering is horrible. Kiosk will tell you they're out of salt bread and allow you to order other pastries. Then went to pick up my pastry cuz it texted me that it was ready and saw salt bread for sale at the bakery area. Mind you I ordered other bakery items on the kiosk but said salt bread was sold out for the day. Then I received a text to get my drinks at drink pick up which is different from bakery pick up. Drinks weren't ready. Took them 15 min for drinks to come out. No text came through again saying drinks were ready. This ordering and pick up system here is horrible and chaotic. I also want to mention how terrible the employee work station is set up for the poor employees here who have to run around to get ice from one bin, blended drinks all the way on the other side and hot drinks on the other side. Definitely a poor set up that doesn't make it easy for those that work behind the counter. My Spanish latte was good however... two stars for that I've been here when they first opened and service and quality of food has definitely gone down. Went to Seed Water during their soft opening and haven't been back since but figured I should still put in a review because during their soft opening they were doing really good! We got the strawberry matcha and peach sparkling drink. Matcha was 4/5 with not being too strong Peach flavor drink with sprite. Wasn't too bad, glad it was half off at the time otherwise I probably wouldn't spend too much on it. Staff were great and easy to order from. The drinks are better than their pastry items as they do roast their own coffee on site! I got their specialty S&W latte as well as the choco-strawberry latte. Both had a very smooth coffee flavor which was really nice! You can even customize if you want the espresso to be medium, medium dark or dark roast, so it's customizable to your liking. As for pastries, they had 6 salt bread for $20, where you can choose between the matcha and/or original salt bread. You can also request for them to heat it up for you if eating at the café too. The bread was okay, matcha was better as it was more buttery and crispy. I also got the Nutella banana croissant which was pretty sweet but a decent sized croissant. What was most disappointing is that there was no notice or explanation beforehand that ordering a drink without ice would result in receiving only half the amount. If this is the store's policy, customers should be informed before they order so they can decide whether they still want it. The source has really stepped up its game with opening more trendy spots, and Seed Water for sure lives up to the hype! With its big open concept layout Seed water offers it's no wonder why the crowd come in to lounge and enjoy bakery items and drinks. The original menu item that brought me in was the sea salt bread, a flakey, buttery, salty perfectly crisp bread is unique with a crunch you can taste from freshness. But menus items like choco bread, croissants, banana matcha and many more you can't help but to grab multiples. It was good probably better fresh it was tiny bit stale. The strawberry tiramisu reminded me more of a tres leche kinda of cake it was very good. They have so many choices for coffee and matcha. I had known about their Grand Opening special, which was pretty much half off everything on their menu, but I wasn't in a mood to try any of their drinks until after they ceased the half off special. I don't actually know when this special ended, but I was a little ticked about missing out on it. Luckily, the fruit teas were still reasonably priced that even at full price, I was still willing to splurge on a refreshing drink in the midst of my afternoon getaway. I came on a Sunday afternoon, and I noticed they were starting to advertise some eats. Not just bakery eats, but rather, more like sandwiches, salads, and toasts. They had a signicade in front of the shop that said breakfast and brunch were coming soon in October, which has already passed, so I'm sure you could order a sandwich or salad even at the time of writing this review. At first, it was hard to find the drinks menu because they were advertising their new cafe menu so hard that it almost felt like they had forgotten about their drinks menu! Luckily, they had a few posted around the indubitably spacious coffee shop that could accommodate many a machinery, which I'm almost certain is for display only. There was so much space inside that the pickup and order counters ran so long; at first glance, it felt like they had at least 20 registers there! I asked one of the baristas (Jasmine?) whether it made a difference where I placed my order at. She indicated the counter closer to the front door was for pickup, but we could order with her. I also saw another order counter around the corner, but there was a sign that indicated to order at the bakery, where Jasmine was at the time. Above the counters are tiles that basically show their menu offerings. If you've been to The Stand before, they do something similar with their burgers, salads, and sandwiches, or in this case, standwiches lol. But here, you'll see drinks and baked goods instead. Not sure what you want? One suggestion I can offer is to point in a random direction, and whatever item you point at, order that item! Just don't point at someone else, either a customer or an employee, if you attempt this lol. The maximizer I am when confronted with analysis paralysis, I took my time circumnavigating the interior to find all the menus and decide on what to get. Since I wanted to explore the 3-story shopping center afterwards, I wanted to get a nice refreshing drink. It was about 4 PM, and I didn't want coffee at that hour. A fruit tea sounded like the best choice, but what about the Sparkling Ade? I wasn't sure if it was the same ade as Gatorade or Powerade, so I went back up to the order counter and asked Jasmine. She mentioned it was a conglomerate of syrup and carbonated water, which as refreshing as it may sound, it also sounded like something that could be cloyingly sweet if they went overboard on the syrup. As a result, I chose a fruit tea, but which one? They have 5 different options of fruit teas, all of which cost $4.50; however, two of them are black teas, which I didn't want for the same reason I didn't want coffee. The other choices were Peach Iced Tea, Lemon Iced Tea, and Peach Lemon Iced Tea. I prefer getting the best of both worlds, so you can tell which one I got lol. Actually, right before I placed my order, Jasmine instructed all the customers to line up parallel to the counter when we were initially perpendicular. And the way she put it almost made me think I had cut in line. Oops? But no biggie, I placed my order, and she handed me a pager that would buzz when my order was ready for pickup. The wait for my drink was really quick. Like 2-3 minutes quick; I barely had time to admire the machinery in the middle of the shop before I was summoned to the pickup counter. They had three drinks ready, and when I handed a barista the pager I was holding, she handed me the correct drink; I could also tell because the order number was also printed on the sticker. My first sip of the drink, and it was quite the flavor explosion! But why was there much more lemon flavor than there was peach? Not totally sure, but I was overall satisfied with the flavor nonetheless. Definitely refreshing on this rather warm autumn afternoon! However, I felt they added a little too much ice in my drink. Upon paying, I asked Jasmine how large the cups were, and she showed me an empty cup, which I thought was sizable enough for the price point. However, looks can be deceiving, and with the addition of that much ice, I didn't get as much iced tea as I initially envisioned. I've mentioned several times that there is ample space for customers to do some studying and/or get work done. They also even have a conference room if you want to hold a business meeting here! Overall, I was satisfied with my drink, but I wouldn't be rushing to come back. While it is a good spot to meet up with friends, you can definitely do better elsewhere. read more

A beautiful space! There is so much space for groups to come here and relax and chill with a drink and pastry. It hasn't been a problem for me to find an empty space whenever I'm there. The prices are very affordable for coffee. My husband usually gets the dalgona latte ($5.50) when he goes. This past weekend we got the $20 for 6 salt butter bread deal. Maybe because it was the end of the day but the bread was okay - chewy, and not that soft. The center butter was also not evenly distributed on some. I haven't tried the food menu (salad and toast) yet but those are more pricey. Wifi is coming and when it does, that'll make it more popular and I may go there to work on my laptop. Seed Water has potential since it's a beautiful and large place - it's a great spot to go when waiting for your reservation time at other restaurants at the Source or to hang out with friends on a cold day. Beautiful treats but was underwhelming for me. Tried their original Salt Bread, a Strawberry cone pastry and Dubai cone pastry. The strawberry and Dubai one looked promising but biting into it was a little dry. My favorite surprisingly was the original salt bread, the plainest looking one out of the three. That had the softest texture and was good without being loaded with toppings. To give them benefit of the doubt, I did wait until the next morning to try which may have affected the texture, although the salt bread was still soft the following day. My group of 6 seated ourselves at a long table coincidentally next to another group that was drawing as well. It can get a little noisy due to the amount of people in the room and the ongoing music playing (we went on a Saturday afternoon and it was bustling), so do keep that in mind if you want to come here to study. I loved the variety of pastries to order from! They're all displayed in glass cases and you can clearly see which ones are still available or not. Even in the late afternoon, there were still a decent amount left. There was a menu for drinks which also had a decent variety. To order your food, you must locate the ordering station and then pick up your items at the pickup station. You get handed one of those electronic buzzer notifiers when your order is ready. I ordered the dalgona latte (#2 on top 10 drinks list) and the garlic cream cheese bread. Both were so yummy! I loved the sugar bits on the top of the latte and the bread was SO huge and filling! I love cream cheese to bits so it was perfect for me, and it was a pull apart bread that makes it easy for sharing. I wanted to try this cafe out cause I love salt bread! I decided to get the matcha filled salt bread and unfortunately I was not impressed. The bread had no texture, was dense, and the creme was not flavorful. I tried the banana matcha latte and as somebody who loves matcha, this one did not hit. It was grainy and the flavor was of matcha that was oxidized. The good thing is there is a ton of seating and a nice atmosphere to study. I ordered a S&W Latte, Honey Cinnamon Latte, Ham and Cheese, and Monkey Croissant Both Lattes were very good, not an overly sugary taste to the drinks, and the coffee doesn't taste burnt. The vanilla foam on both drinks was delicious. I would recommend to get a drink here. The Ham and Cheese overall was pretty good, but the price was steep for what you get. The highlight of the plate is the croissant, everything else is basic. If this sandwich was $8.99 instead of $12.99 I would highly recommend it, I just hope that super sad salad on the plate isn't driving up the price, I'd do without it. The Monkey croissant was okay, I'd probably pass on it in the future. The flavor was okay, the bread tasted borderline stale, and the bread was not flaky whatsoever. It took about 15 minutes to get my food, and unfortunately they didn't even warm up the croissant, which should be the standard for pastries. Overall I would recommend this place for a group setting, there's plenty of seating, friendly staff, and good drinks. I wouldn't recommend the food here, but the cakes look promising. Drinks were 50% off, which was nice. The corn sausage bread was actually pretty good. I asked if the banana latte used real banana and was met with a very vague, ambiguous answer, so I decided to just order it. It tasted artificial, and with very watered down, mediocre coffee. I asked if they'd be willing to make me a new drink, and they very nicely made me a strawberry ade. Had the banana milk cake slice for 7.50. Not a fan. Had that artificially banana flavor smell added. The cake is more on the thick chiffon side. And the cream is also on the thicker side. Located at the Source, this place is massive. We saw it from the third floor and I thought it was some sort of food hall. Didn't' realize until we got there, it was a roastery and café. There's plenty of seating and there's room for more seating eventually or even a merch store. They clearly just opened recently. Service if friendly and they were very patient with our ordering since we couldn't find a drinks menu until we got to the counter. They should put more up around the place We tried the oreo cake, salted bun, and condensed milk loaf. The oreo cake is good, reminds me of a lighter black forest cake. Enjoyed the oreo cream, light and delicate. The chocolate salted bun and condensed milk loaf I had higher expectations for, but they're forgettable. The loaf is just a regular butter loaf with a glaze on top, nothing inside. Same with the chocolate salted bun, just a layer a chocolate on top. Lazy and actually makes it messy to eat as it melts. Drinks wise, there was a half-price drinks promotion going on so we tried a few drinks. Normally, I'd think the drink prices on the higher end, especially when you have so many options at the Source. Dalgona coffee is good. Nice texture and good coffee flavor Matcha einspanner was good too, the matcha comes through very well Peach iced tea was very sweet in a good way. Normally I don't like overly sweet drinks, but something about it made it taste really refreshing at the time we had it. Food and drinks are definitely on the higher end, and doesn't really match the quality. 5 stars all the way! Best coffee & fresh bread. Best Banana latte I ever had anywhere! Usually I can't taste banana at other cafes but there's is good. Also chestnut bread and Dubai bread is really good and huge size! Good prices too! Looks like a large food court inside but for bread & drinks only. Hope they stay in business a long time!
