This visit was on a Thurs morning around 9:30 for a birthday treat. Although they confirmed that they no longer have a bday promo, I got their in-app purchase of a Tiger Latte as well (my friend enjoyed it made less sweet, and I like that the default is made with oat milk). When you get the app, you can also get $5 automatically applied to your first app purchase. If you ever signed up for their rewards program before downloading the app, they import your points from your phone number account :). My only mild complaint is that the timed order- for-later request did not seem to make too big a difference, as my drink was probably ready 25 minutes early. Better early than late, though! Staff were friendly and informative as always. Shop had a few customers seated inside and outside, so there was plenty of room to study or sit a while. It was a bit cold for me, so probably a good place if you want some strong AC. Music seemed like a millenial-pleasing alternative-y mix: good for nondistracting background sound. Honey Bori Latte is one of my favorite seasonals anywhere! Loved it as intended at full sweetness (not too sweet) and still loved it at less sweet (recommend if enjoying with a bread or pastry imo). I like most specialty barley drinks. Default is dairy, so I assume there would still be some even if made with oat milk ($1 extra). I love the crunchy wheat snack topping, and it kind of reminds me of the cocoa puff topping in that black caf latte in Dland/Galaxy's edge. Will be back!
My friend and I came here on a Tuesday around 11am. Right away, I was struck by the interior design. The wood accents and Korean details make the space feel both traditional and modern. I also liked picking a table by the window because it meant that my seat was naturally warmed up by the sun. I had a hard time picking what to eat, partly because everything looked so good, and partly because no ingredients were listed. I thought that the Mochi Pie would have a mochi filling, but it turned out to be mochi flour with lots of beans and nuts. It was so dense, I ended up sharing with my friend. Next time, I would come back with a book or my laptop. Everyone seemed to be studying or working, so it was nice and quiet. The bathroom was also big and clean.
This review is a bit belated, but better late than never! I tried out their APT (Apple Tea) which was a seasonal drink from their fall 2025 menu. I wasn't expecting much, but it turned out to be so yummy! APT is a tea blend of apple, yuzu, and mint. I love a unique and refreshing fruit blend! You can also get this iced or hot. As a whole, Smoking Tiger is expanding rapidly across OC/LA. With strong identity, branding, and an ever evolving menu (drinks & breads!), they're always a solid choice if you're looking for a new coffee shop to try.
Much like their other locations, all or their items are just great. Same quality and types of items from some of their other locations. Staff is helpful, location is clean and great to do work in for a few hours. Parking can be sparse depending on what time you come in but my first time here absolutely blew my mind and I can't wait to come back!
This is my favorite coffee shop in Buena Park. The parking lot is spacious and convenient. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and you can sit and enjoy your coffee at the tables. The staff are very nice and welcoming. They offer a wide variety of coffee, with lots of options to choose from. My favorites are the banana milk latte and the corn latte. Both are signature drinks and definitely worth trying. They also have a good selection of baked goods. The scones and garlic bread are especially tasty. The facilities feel a bit outdated and could use some remodeling. The restroom, in particular, is old and not very clean. Service is good. If you order online, they prepare your drink ahead of time and keep it chilled in the fridge until pickup, which is a nice touch.
I really only come here for their drinks. Corn latte is my go-to! Seems like a weird combo right? I thought it was but I was curious so I gave it a try and it is yum yum yum! Reminds me of the taste of Corn Pops cereal! It's perfectly sweet, balanced and surprisingly works as a combo! Not a huge fan of their pastries. They never really wowed me and some are quite dry. However, I tried their chewy cookie set today and that is def a repeat purchase.The Dubai choco and black sesame were my fave. The outer marshmallow layer isn't too thick and the filling isn't overly sweet. I love the combo of textures from the soft outer layer to the crunchy kadayif filling. A little on the pricey side so it'll be a once in a while treat. They also have a unique cake selection. Those caught my eye today and I'll have to try those next! Service was friendly and you can put in your number for points. Give them a try!
I've been coming here for a long time, and I can confidently say this is one of the best coffee spots around. The space is very spacious with plenty of seating both inside and outside, making it a great place to sit, catch up with someone, or get some work done. The atmosphere is always welcoming and comfortable. They also offer a wide selection of pastries you can grab and bring up to the counter, which pairs perfectly with their drinks. The coffee is consistently amazing every time! Definitely a must try if you're in the area.
Smoking Tiger has secured its spot in my top 3 coffee shops since they first opened at this location in BP. I love their signature Tiger latte and they have a solid iced corn latte. Recently stopped by when I was in the area and finally got to try the viral Dubai mochi cookie!!! My fiancé was so excited... to not have to hear about my fantasizing about the Dubai mochi cookie again. Little does he know, I'm even more obsessed after trying Smoking Tiger's delicious recipe, LOL. I've tried their matcha mochi cookie as well, and it seems they nailed their mochi pastries down. Love how this particular location has a lot of places to sit and enjoy the pastries and bread whilst studying or hanging out. Would love to try their bagels as well. I will continue to support this coffee shop with my coffee addiction. Thank you!
Ordered a Honey Ube Latte from their special seasonal menu and it was perfect! I am usually a "sipper" but I gulped this drink! It has a wonderful balance of sweetness with the espresso. Service was friendly and fast. Seating is never an issue with a number of tables indoors and a few outdoors too. Only one size (20 oz) available for $7.
Got some sort of garlic cream cheese bread and sweet potato bread. Both were heated up and we were there first thing in the morning. The sweet potato bread was weird to me. It just felt like a multigrain, dense baguette that was scooped out of the insides and mashed up goguma was placed inside. Then they crème bruleed the top. The baguette texture competed with the texture of the goguma. A softer, fluffier bread would've bee a better choice in my opinion. Sadly, it only got worse from there. The garlic cream cheese bread was dense and grossly sweet. Even worse, one wedge into it, we saw a short hair buried in the cream cheese filling. I didn't bother asking for a refund or exchange because I already lost my appetite and knew I wasn't going to bother coming back. Also got a misugaru latte and...it didn't taste anything like misugaru. I took two sips and just dumped the rest of the drink. Long story short, got three items and disliked all three items. Genuinely confused by the high reviews for this place and don't understand the hype.
The coffee quality was great and the pastry tasted fresh. I've tried their corn and banana latte but you can't go wrong with any of their drinks, in my opinion. It's also very spacious inside. Good for meeting with friends or studying. Customer service was also good and my order came out quickly. I recommend this place!
Smoking tiger is so good! My go-to is the brown sugar shaken espresso but today I tried 2 of their signature drinks- the banana latte & corn latte. They were both really good! The barista was so kind & told us that the corn is really good and tastes sweet! Looking forward to visiting again soon

Their well-crafted pastries are Asian-inspired and have unique flavors. I've been back many times since and bought a variety of items to try. My faves so far: - Salt Bread: An unassuming bread that's magnificently rolled with salted butter into the inside. What makes it stand out is the light and crispy outside and a pillowy-soft, hollow inside. - Chubby Cheesecake: It's creamy, slightly tangy, and not-too-sweet. Perfect to enjoy with coffee or matcha. - Black Sesame Kouign-amann: This is such a delight. It's as if a puff pastry and croissant had a baby to make this crispy and flaky item. The outer shell has a thin sugar glaze, and the inside is filled with black sesame cream. - Potato Bacon Bits Bread: Such a unique bakery item! It's like a loaded baked potato stuffed inside a soft, fluffy bread. Service is sweet and swift. The store is a modern Korean cafe reminiscent of a Hanok, where visitors can experience the beauty of an old Korean traditional house. The serene ambiance makes for an ideal place to work (lots of tables) and meet up with friends.

It absolutely pains me to leave a 3 star review for this place. I've been coming here for YEARS and I remember when they first opened and I would try all their new items and "test" drinks and pastries. Yet recently I've been coming and truly haven't been enjoying it the same. I used to come and study or work as I enjoyed their drinks and baked goods. The environment is usually buzzing with more people working or studying or groups of people talking. Their pastries are always good and yummy which is a BIG hit. Yet I am a big coffee person, the quality of the coffees and drinks have gone down hill a lot. I would always order the Campfire latte or the Smoking Spaniard latte (when it still had cardamom in it) and would LOVE it. But now when I order drinks, most of them aren't very good or are missing flavors. The Smoking Spaniard is still yummy yet it used to be sooo much better back in the day, now it taste more like a regular spanish latte. I always see the new seasonal drinks and menu and get so excited to try them just incase I find a new favorite. Most of them have been a miss sadly :( The fruit lattes and drinks from their seasonal menu usually has actual chunks of fruit in it which makes it hard to drink and you have to chew while drinking a latte ;( not my fave. I went in yesterday to try their summer '26 seasonal drinks which is Yakult! I was sooo excited. A blueberry Yakult matcha latte! yummy! I got there, got a new earl grey lemon loaf from the bakery, got my blueberry Yakult matcha latte and sat down to try. Sadly, it didn't hit... the blueberries are still super chunky so I had to use 2 different straws because my first one got stuck with blueberries in it. The Yakult foam was really good but the blueberries weren't :( I HIGHLY recommend when making fruit syrups for coffee, boil down the fruit and blend it or strain out the big pieces. I sadly have stopped really coming to Smoking Tiger so often because I haven't been impressed and other coffee shops have been popping up that has better quality now :( Smoking Tiger has been focusing more on quantity of stores rather than quality of their food and drinks. read more
This review is for the pastries and sweets, not the coffee or drinks. I came to get some planning done for my Japan trip and enjoy getting some work done. My family and I went over to their food items and had a field day picking out what we wanted from containers. I got their sweet honey bread which was amazing, I've been a kick ordering this at bakeries. The blueberry muffin was okay, it was a bit crumbly. Corn mochi was quite interesting but I learned to like it. Sweet Potato mochi was solid and then I didn't try the Chestnut mochi. It was overall a good setting to get work done and plug your laptop in, use their wifi or restroom. read more

There's a lot parking to get here. Inside has a good amount of seating. It's very chill here and could be great to study. The staff are nice and helpful. They were informative on the drinks and gave tips about the drinks. The drink was ready at a good time. I got the berries and cream (summer '26 seasonal). It was pretty good! Great for a hot day. Good amount of ice. Not too sweet. You get the berry flavors. I'd return to try more of their menu and cakes! read more

I tried the iced persimmon leaf tea with agave sweetener, and it was refreshing and light. Would recommend! I also had their seasonal big apple crumble, which was very yummy and something I'd get again. I had mixed feelings about the apple pie latte, it was a bit too tart and acidic for my taste for coffee. The café has indoor and outdoor seating, though there aren't many outlets. There's plenty of parking and a good variety of pastries. It's a comfortable spot to sit and enjoy a drink or chat with friends! Staff are very kind and helpful in making suggestions on what to order. :D read more

Amazed at how well Smoking Tiger Cafe makes their coffee. It was my first time but as always I usually go for any of a cafe's signature drink on the menu. If you're a banana fan, their Banana Milk Latte is the perfect balance between the syrup while maintaining a coffee flavor. My friends ordered other signatures to try and I even loved their Signature latte, as simple as the ingredients were, their espresso is so delicious. I think it makes all the drinks super tasty! From what I've tried, the Banana Milk Latte, Tiger Latte, and Sweet Corn Latte are all good recs. Pleasantly surprised with such unique flavors and I hope I can try their pull apart garlic bread next time. Upon more research, they're pretty known as there are locations all over OC! read more

t had been a while since I last visited Smoking Tiger, so I ordered a cappuccino. As always, their dark roast was rich and full of flavor. I forgot to ask for it extra hot today, which was a bit of a regret, but overall it was still enjoyable. the interior is always clean and well-kept, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. Smoking Tiger continues to be one of my favorite spots when I'm craving a well-made coffee. Also always nice customer service! read more
I ordered the Kroong-Ji Pop Tart, Banana Bread, Pineapple Express, and Banana Latte The Pop Tart was pretty good, it was light, crunchy, and sweet. My first time having something like this, definitely and acquired taste but a nice size. The Banana Bread was very good, nice and moist with great flavor. I would definitely recommend to get this. The Pineapple Express drink is sweeter but still refreshing, I would order this again. Great choice if you don't want to drink coffee. The Banana Latte was also good, not too overly sweet and actually tastes like banana unlike most coffee shops where it's pretty bland. I studied here for a few hours, the music is great focus music, nice quiet to medium noise level and very clean here and great service, the drinks came out quick. I will definitely recommend to come study here. read more
Got the garlic cream cheese bread and sweet potato. They were both okay. The could have made the garlic cream cheese bread more balanced, but you mainly taste the cream cheese. The breading of the sweet potato was also a little dry. I've gotten both of these in Korea and was excited to see that they offered the same, but was disappointed by the overall taste. For drink I got the hojicha latte which was a good standard drink, but definitely not a strong flavor. It was more milky. Service itself was good, friendly staff. Ambiance was alright, inside was a little dark and very cold. I chose to sat outside at the patio tables instead. read more

We went for the bakery. The atmosphere inside is good. We bought: Original flavor Kroong -ji ( a pastry, flat croissant ) 0/5. It tastes so burnt that I have to toss it. Not sweet at all. Not sure if it should taste like that. Banana bread 4/5 The service is ok. Plenty of parking around the store on the weekend. read more

Came to Smoking Tiger for their chewy cookie set! First visited their Gardena location back in 2023! The beverages, pastries, and ambiance really stood out to me! It's nice that they expanded to this location. The chewy cookie set was $22 and comes with 2 Dubai chocolate chewy cookies and 2 black sesame chewy cookies. There's a limit of 5 sets per person btw. The sizes are pretty big compared to the ones in Korea which was nice. The Dubai chocolate chewy cookie was great and my family all enjoyed them. The black sesame was great as well. We grew up with a very similar black sesame mochi dessert but of course without the kadayif and my mom was very pleased with them. Would definitely come back to try the other pastries and beverages and to get more chewy cookies! read more
How Sweet is the name of a song by New Jeans, sweet is how my experience at Smoking Tiger's in Southern California have been. When I think of Korean food and drink, one of the cities I think of is Buena Park. This Smoking Tiger is right on Beach Blvd in the heart of so many shops. The staff were very friendly, quick, and professional. The atmosphere was great, I saw many people studying and working in the indoor seating. The indoor seating was full so I grabbed a seat outside, and it was nice. The outdoor seating is far enough from Beach blvd traffic and enclosed in such a way, that the street is not distracting. The banana nut bread was great, smooth and not sugary, everyone will have their own opinion on this. I had the Latte which I enjoyed. Parking was not hard to find. Stopped here after a dental appointment right next door. Seemed to be buzzing with silence despite numerous people working with laptops and headphones on. I was in a state of disappointment from the previous night's cheesecake offering at a different restaurant. I find myself searching for a "revenge" or "do-over" from that experience. Happy to report the jiggly cheesecake here delivered on expectations: soft and not too heavy , with a nicely burnt top ala Basque style. Also got a honey cinnamon scone, A "pop tart" - a flattened crisp croissant topped with frosting and thin smear of jelly, And slice of banana bread to snack upon. Same name bakery located close to home which I should try sometime. Courteous and friendly "barista" made my peach fizz with less puree since I wanted less sweetness. Will be back to try other coffee with more pastries. read more
My new favorite coffee place! Such a cute spot with lots of yummy Korean pastries. I tried the Tiger Latte and it was so good - 10/10! My friend got the strawberry matcha and we bought a salt bread pastry to share, which was super yummy. The customer service was superb, the girls were super friendly. The cute place was spacious and there were lots of students studying there. I'll definitely be back.. I didn't know there were a few locations including one closer to home in garden grove area. read more

Kimchi Masubi Croissant is a MUST!!!! Light and right amount of savory in your mouth to start off your day. We did try the Cream Cheese Garlic Bread but I prefer the masubi so so much better! Doors open early which means you gotta get there early before you MISS OUT, they sell fast, like vroom vroom fast! read more

My girlfriend brought me here for a garlic bun. They were out at the display but the cashier offered to get some more from the back. My girlfriend ordered a drink and I grabbed a can from the cooler. She ordered the garlic and cream cheese bun and paid for our drinks and bun. The barista called her name for the drink and a couple of minutes later she called again for the garlic bun. My girlfriend reported that the buns are usually warm and goey, our ordered one had the cream cheese cold and firm. Hopefully we'll be back again and get the full experience because this time wasn't very satisfying. read more
Korean vibey cafe, with bakes goods and a cafe. The seats were mostly taken up and pretty close to each other. We tried the salt bread - honestly very subpar one part of the bread was almost fried due to oil concentration in one area. My sister liked the ube chubby cheesecake. This place isn't cheap so I expected their bread quality to be better but was a bit disappointed. read more

I haven't been to this location for quite some time. It appears they've had a couple of upgrades to their outdoor seating and menu inside. The service was poor. The two employees were fine chatting with one another behind the counter but once I came up and tried to engage - nothing. Straight forward. Got my drink to me, but I don't remember the employees being so cold. Their products seem to remain the same. Okay drinks, fine pastries. Just be ready for a cold shoulder feel. read more
Came here with no expectation and without knowing they have So many stores! *And Wow!!! Their coffee is so tasty, so well made. I opted for the Tiger Latte, the barrista carefully asked if I like cinnamon since my first option was the Smoking Spaniard. And since cinnamon is not my fave she recommended me the first one in the signature menu. Oh my , the espresso with brown sugar and frothed oat milk was so amazing, so aromy. I have been to many many coffee place and this coffee just got me. I wish we live closer because I am hooked. The taste of it is creamy, not sour, not too sweet , can keep you awake. My bf got the Yuzu Sparkling drinks and it was interesting, very summery taste if you like soda flavors. Overall, It is WORTH to drive back here for the coffee alone... the Banana bread tastes just like the one Starbucks flavor, even better quality and softer texture. 5/5 experience. 5/5 service. Tip: a lot of good drinks and pastries sold out after 2pm, so come early. read more
The coffee here is desserty, but not too sweet. Unique and flavorful, but not loaded with sugar. As an Asian, I like that. I ordered the sweet corn latte. It is similar to the corn tea at Bopomofo, but less sweet, and more bitter. I actually like it. My hubby got the brown sugar. He loved it. He tried something with a similar place at a different coffee shop the next day, but far preferred the one from here. The strawberry matcha scone cookie (scookie? I think they called it? Was a pretty heavy, filling filled cookie. Very unique. The garlic bread was also filled with a light whipped cream cheese and was unique as well. read more
Amazing spot! Will need to come back at a time they have their full spread, but by 2 PM when I came, their selection was very limited. Glad I got to try the garlic cream cheese bread I came for though and it truly did not disappoint! Packed with flavor and my ideal savory pastry. The other two- flat poptart croissant and salt bread- seemed a little stale and were not the best. But I will probably be back to try their delicious sounding drinks and other pastries read more
10-17-2025 I ventured out today on my way to pick up my contacts. I located on yelp this Korean Cafe. I ended up with a garlic cream cheese roll, which was totally yummie and strong large tiger iced latte. They had plenty of pastries and hot/cold drinks to choose from. Clean and quiet establishment. This is a well hidden gem. So if you're in the area. I highly recommend this place. Delicious pastries and refreshing drinks. Definitely friendly and awesome customer service. Also, love that they do not waste food here. Too Good To Go read more

We used to! But do not bake those anymore.
