Wow, looked up Top 10 night spots and Thirsty's was at the top of the list. I'm currently living in…read moreBrighton so a 10 minute drive. Punched in GPS address and headed out. 10 minutes later, right off the main drag in beautiful,Pittsford. Glad I hit Delta Sonic this morning so MON BEBE (my RAV-4) looks great and fits into the Vibe. Plenty of handicap parking, front door 50 feet from parking lot. Walked in on crutches, baby steps, wearing a full fall harness with "flare" patches sewn on. Great Music, 2-3 deep at the bar, bar full of laughing, happy, amazing people! Then about 6 men peeled off from the large group and surronded me, asked why the fall harness, why the crutches? Kept asking questions, then I said, "I was blown up in a backdraft explosion ITLOD" then, more questions....... then I asked, any Military, family friends, sandbox, IEDs? Then the stories flowed of family friends, Vets, Military, love of country. WOW! Then I pulled out PRONEDRIVER.COM cards and explained I was injured ITLOD, as a Vol. FF, since my injury I designed and my gearhead fiends built, 2 PRONE Tractors, 2 Prone Water Crafts, 3rd Prone Motor Vehicle (RAV-4 in parking lot and picture on card). They asked what I wanted to drink, OMG! How nice, I said I just drink Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi, 5 seconds later a diet coke was thrust into my hand. I reached for cash and they laughed at me, said I was thier guest. WOW ! Where am I ? Did I crash, am I in Heaven? Wonderful bar, clean, spotless, handsome men and beautiful womem, amazing sound system and amazing choices of songs! I explanded in College I was a Bouncer/Body Gaurd/ Sparing Partner. But I never, ever worked at a bar as amazing as this place ...... THIRSTY'S. Whoever, bought this, built this, owns, this, designed this place is a GENIUS ! I was asked more questions about the cards and PRONEDRIVER. I explained initially everything, the tractors, water craft, Motor Vehicles were just designed by me and my friends/gearheads/Angels built them so I could get around Prone as I was in intense pain and couldn't sit. The, I was approached by Pascal, a Professor at a design College. Said he was tasked by the DOD and VA to build a vehicle for our Injured Military, injured ITLOD by IED explosions, unable to sit in intense pain ...... LIKE ME. OK I gave them all my ergonomic drawing, pictures everything for free. 2 years later Pascal called me and said the design College, DOD and VA had shut down the program. I asked why and was told, MONEY and LIABILITY. I said bad words and then said, WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT ! YOU DON't GIVE UP On our INJURED MILITARY, EVER. AT THAT POINT I TOOK THE LOAD. PRONEDRIVER.COM on Facebook Tom Smurthwaite on Facebook PRONEDRIVER on YouTube 60 second video of me (voice and a face made for radio) 60 second video of Prone Rav-4 and a 60 second video of a beautiful sunset from the Prone pontoon boat 2 miles out. One last thing, for the last 25 years I'd type PRONEDRIVER and PRONEDRIVER.COM into Search Engines, and NOTHING, until last week. NOW ....every Search Engine and my Buddy in England and friends in Europe, yup .... it's everywhere ....... GLOBAL. YIKES Now what I do every day and all night (pain only lets me get 10-20 minute cat naps) I'm up all night curled up in a fetal position, hugging a pillow, and typing on my laptop to, Generals of Commands who were in the sandbox from 2000-2020 and where we lost 4,000 to IEDs and 30,000-40,000 were blown up by IEDs and came home with a variety of injuries. My task to try to get the Pronedriver idea out to them so the 22 a day doesn't get worse. Your Bar, last night was the first bar I've been in, in 34 years. I was instructed by my medical staff to take a night off, listen to music, drink a diet coke and meet people. See I was having problems, the load that I've taken on was getting to me. I was going outside at midnight and saying prayers and asking for help from GOD and Jesus as I had been getting overwhelmed. That is why my medical staff was getting concerned, turn out I need not have worried, YOUR BAR, THIRST'S, my medical staffs directive. I hope you know that THIRST'S is MAJIC and it's filled with ANGELS, staff, patrons, just one after another. Just increadable. You refilled my tank with confidence, inspiration, HOPE and LOVE. I hope you realize that now I'm back on track, back on task. What you bar did last night is causing me to come up with new ideas, new messaging ideas, new ways to reach our injured Military. Your Bar is saving LIVES, thank you, GOD BLESS YOU !

The patrons and bartenders accept strangers and regulars, remember your name, and will treat you with dignity. The crowd is mind-boggling eclectic and people from all walks of life enter the building with no signage at 8 State Street in Pittsford. I spent an afternoon solo and an evening accompanied by my wife at Thirsty's after flying into Rochester from Milwaukee. By the night's end, I hugged the owner and his wife, met the bartender's dad, and felt like I lived in Pittsford my whole life. Thirsty's has an aura that's impossible to replicate. Go and join the Thirsty's family.

**PSA - Diamond Billiards Bar and Grill Diamond Billiards Bar & Grill **…read more Some context here... I've been visiting Diamond for a couple decades. It's been a welcoming place where I was able to bring friends, family, and meet people around the community As many of you know.. I've joined into APA Rochester league and have nothing but high regards to the coordinators and community that has been built across Rochester and Western New York. I have played APA league at Diamond Billiards since joining the league. Thursday nights the p paymenconcept is that you pay 'table time' to Diamond, to play on their league-reserved tables, and you pay weekly dues into APA. Last night Sarah and myself were humiliated by Diamond ownership in a manner that can't go unspoken. This post is public. Will go into as many business reviews as possible. And will be taken down if an apology and explanation is received. Last night I had a bye and my team was not playing. Sarah and I purchased time for a reserved pool table. We also purchased food and beverage. During that time I asked for a league mate to shoot a game with me on the table I had reserved. That mate and I played the game. During that game I overheard my name from the other side of the venue but did not take mind of it. Sarah returned advising that ownership was vocally frustrated that mate played on the table we reserved without paying for the table time, on that table. I shrugged it off Not long after I overheard the owner and bartender conversing one table away from us. I stared down the owner, listening to their conversation, and the owner stared at me having the conversation. This conversation involved swearing and obvious frustration of the situation. Since the owner did not have the manner to talk to me about this 1:1, without swearing, without humiliation, we immediately packed our things and returned the pool balls to their storage location. When storing the pool balls we had general conversation with the bar tender about the situation. The owner then came to the bar stating "the bartender is not the owner, I am, if you want to talk to the owner then talk to me" - insert explicit words into his statement. We attempted to have a reasonable conversation with the owner and were met with him walking off, to play the game he was in the middle of, and swearing at us and agreeing that we should give our money to another billiards hall. Sarah and I were humiliated by the loud tone, swearing, and inability for ownership to have a conversation to their routine patrons. --- I will be forced to go back to Diamond. Only because of the APA league and community. While at Diamond they will not be receiving money from me for their extra services. I have had conversation with my team captain and the APA coordinators to petition for corrective actions.

A great pool hall with friendly folks. Almost all the tables are diamonds both barbox, and nine…read morefooters, wings are great, beer and booze are flowing. check them out.

Before I actually bring any of this up at a city council meeting, here's why this place needs a change of management, or just to be shut down. -Bartender refused to serve my friend, said TO HIS FACE that "you look really douchey", and had a horrible attitude the entire time. Bar was practically empty. She had no reason to be acting like that and that was probably the rudest bartender experience I've ever had. Told another bartender about it, he apologized, I also mentioned this in my first review, and yet she's been here every time I've been back. -Another bartender yelled as loud as humanly possible in my face (I'm hard of hearing and it's a loud bar) when I didn't hear what he said. Appreciate you saying it louder bud, but he was clearly extremely annoyed with me. He had some sort of hat on, and angrily yelled "YEAH, THIS HAT ISN'T A PSYCHIC HAT". Sorry someone shat in your cornflakes, dude. -Just about every month, I hear about someone's drink getting spiked. They either don't give a shit about blacklisting these scumbags, or just don't care that it's happening in the first place out of fear of losing business. They try to cover it up every time it happens. -Behavior of the patrons is extremely judgy, rude, and uncomfortable. Very old men hitting on younger women. Creeps everywhere. People looking to start a fight. -Almost always unclean inside and out The only benefit is the fact that it's cheap. I would really love it if the staff gave a shit here, because on paper this place should be one of the best bars in ROC.

While planning our dinner party months in advance, the communication from Janine was excellent. She helped us develop a 4-course menu that was sure to have something for everyone, including vegan and allergy friendly options. Amy was our server for the evening, and she ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our evening. The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The salmon was a generous portion of medium rare fish, and there was lot going on with that dish - spicy cauliflower and za'atar potatoes that had some mixed reviews. Folks who ordered the duck breast seemed to enjoy the complex preparation, which had asparagus, green beans, and two pureed sauces - cauliflower ginger and cherry-rhubarb. The doughnut bread pudding with apple pieces and vanilla ice cream was a delicious, decadent way to end the meal. We left rather stuffed, and delighted with the overall experience that allowed our family to celebrate together.

For appetizers, we got the roasted beets and the bone marrow. Both were good. I got the duck breast for entree and my friends got the carrot cavatelli and lobster bucatini. We all enjoyed our dishes. The duck was succulent and roasted just enough. The Brussel sprouts that came on the side were a disappointment though. For dessert, I ordered ricotta pine nut tart with lemon sorbet. The tart was very subtle in flavor but good. My friends ordered the bread pudding which was great as well. Overall, very satisfied with the food and service. Can be back!
