Expect to be greeted by 'RBF' & ugly attitudes. Avoid. Don't waste your time! This place is filled with young people that don't even want to work and act as if their job is the worst. This company needs to get people that actually want to work with sincerity because the people currently working there are going to put their company down the drain. The young girl with the pixie haircut was VERY RUDE & gave nothing but 'RBF" upon entering and while I was asking questions. I came in with the intention of buying a full pie but after the service that was given I walked out with nothing in hand and I don't regret it. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN. !!!MY RECOMMENDATION: I ended up going to an ice cream shop located in the downtown shops as well that sells boozy ice cream (I believe it was called boozy cocktail) which I recommend for your sweet treat in downtown instead! I had to round up as to not seem too harsh but, hang in till the end to get a glimpse of the real deal at Emporium Pies McKinney. In a sentence,I don't plan on returning to this or the other locations. What started out as a concept with a lot of energy seems to be running flat. Strolled in on a Saturday afternoon and we were quickly seated and served. We got a cherry pie and a papa don't peach pie, which had lemon, raspberry, peach flavors with a coffee cake crumble on top. We enjoyed the flavors but wish the pies had been room temp/a little heated as it was very difficult to cut through the cold pie slice. Yes, you may think it's naughty to have a Father Christmas pie after Christmas and after New Years resolutions..BUT, in my defense, cutting sweets isn't my resolution, letting go is. This pie is 100% delicious and my favorite of all of them. They luckily had some leftover from December 2025 (they had sold out during one of our 2024 December visits, so sadly didnt get to try it.) 2025 was my mint chocolate kick year and this was a sweet ending to that, albeit late. TLDR; come here and order anything. You can't go wrong. Just don't come if you're on a diet, like me lol I've lost track of how many times I've stopped by here for pie. And I'm not ashamed to admit it. I do remember the first time that I did have a slice of Lord of the Pies on Thanksgiving. We were at my parents' house and my cousin's boyfriend at the time flew it back west for us. We followed the heating instructions and with my first bite, I knew that there was no contest- this is the best pie I've ever had! The pie selection changes with the seasons and you can always order ahead online. They do an extremely organized and easy holiday pickup for pies as well. Which, isn't completely necessary if you visit during a lull. Sometimes, I feel a little reckless and won't order ahead but try my luck just walking in. I know, I live life on the edge. Everyone that works here is always helpful. I've never had a bad experience, even with the team working on confirmation of holiday pie orders. The actual seating space inside is a bit limited, definitely more on the cozy side if you decide to dine in. So be prepared to pack it in like sardines if you arrive with a large party. Stay away. The store's posted opening time is 11:00 AM, but no one arrived until 11:05. It then took another 10 minutes before the doors were actually opened, and I wasn't acknowledged until around 11:15. What was most disappointing wasn't just the delay--it was the complete lack of an apology. Instead, I was met with a smile and the comment, "Life happens." I've been a loyal customer, but this experience changed that. Customer service matters, and this level of professionalism was a dealbreaker. A friend recommended this place. Sounded great. The store is tiny, but it had a line of people. There were two women in line in front of me who saw the prices and decided to leave. I needed 2 pies for the night's dinner. The person who waited on me did her job, but was a tad impatient....didn't have the heart of a server. The coconut flavor was there. The crust tasted like old play-doh that has been left out. The smooth operator had a nice, silky smooth chocolate filling! The crust was supposed to be salted caramel, but it tasted like a Nature Valley granola bar. Too much oat flavor, too grainy, and nothing special. So I've actually never stepped foot inside this store but every time my SIL comes over she brings some kind of dessert, often a whole pie, and several times they been pies from this pie shop. I've had so far the Lord of the Pies. It's a great apple pie and not traditional. So good! This pie weighs like 20# or at least it feels that heavy. Caramel inside, crumble on top. Think deep dish Chicago pizza thick! The cherry was ok. I wanted to love it because cherry is my favorite pie of all time but this one has a lot of overpowering lemon flavor for me. The drop dead gourdgeous pie was probably one of the best versions of pumpkin pie that I've ever had. This week she plans to bring the bourbon pecan so I can't wait to try that!
