Unfortunately, my most recent experience ended that relationship. During a recent visit with a PA (whom I was seeing for the first time), he relied on lab results that were over 15 months old to conclude that I needed to be placed on a statin and switched to a different blood pressure medication. What was particularly concerning was the complete lack of a measured, evidence-based approach. A reasonable starting point would have been: "Your last labs showed elevated cholesterol--let's order updated labs to see where things stand today and then discuss next steps." Instead, the conclusion was immediate: I should begin a statin. For context, I scheduled the appointment simply to refill my blood pressure medication and request updated labs to evaluate several health markers I've been actively working to improve over the past year. Without asking how my current medication was working, the PA stated he wanted to switch me off Losartan--apparently unaware that another physician in the same practice had already adjusted my medication two years ago with excellent results and zero side effects. When I pointed out that the lab data was outdated and that I preferred to obtain current labs before making medication changes--particularly starting a statin--I was subsequently dismissed as a patient. Not for nonpayment, not for disruptive behavior, but for questioning a recommendation and asking for updated clinical data. Professionalism: none. Bedside manner: unacceptable. A special acknowledgment goes to the "Practice Manager" for finalizing what was already set in motion. The approach to patient care, clinical judgment, and basic professionalism here is deeply lacking. There are far better providers in the area worthy of a patient's trust and investment.

The reason, she hasn't been seen by a practice doctor herself for 3 years. The office administrator claimed this was an insurance requirement, but when I checked with my provider and my insurance broker I was told this is done so the practice can use a different billing code that has a higher payout to the practice. It's a shame how this once "family" practice has evolved since Dr. Harrington's retirement, that they care more about being able to get a bit more money than actually caring for their patients.

I do not know the exact year, but I have been a very satisfied patient for over twenty years. I have been extremely happy with her husband (Dr. Kevin) as my primary care provider for most of those years. When he retired, I was worried about getting another primary care physician and tried his replacement, Dr. Marshall. I was not happy with him and was told I might like Dr. Lorena better. The office staff was correct and I have been very happy with Dr. Lorena Harvey. She has seen me through many rough times and I have a great respect for her. I have a hard time scheduling appointments around my work schedule and they are always willing to work around my schedule to be sure I get the great service I desire and need. She works out of their Cloverhill office located at 13861 Hull Street Road, Midlothian VA. 23112. It is not exactly on Hull Street Road so I do not know how they got this exact address, but it is across from Food Lion and Burger King just off of Hull street next to Outback Steakhouse. Also, a quick note that if she does not have an appointment available when you need one, there are a number of other doctors in the office that may be able to fir you in their schedules, and their Oxbridge office is open on Saturdays for walk-ins, no appointment necessary. When Better Health now Complete Health took over the practice they threw long time patients out to the wind to find new pcp's and new pain management Drs as well. I knew something was up when I was told the new company would be docking my physicians pay if he continued to prescribe me Xanax. Ridiculous. The physician assistants were unknowledgeable and very unprofessional and disrespectful to patients. The office was small but tidy.

I was told they accepted my insurance, but I was never informed that they were out of my insurance network, which resulted in unexpected charges that could have been avoided with proper disclosure. After my appointment, I had to call three separate times just to have my prescriptions sent to my pharmacy. Instead of simply resolving the issue, I was charged for an additional office visit on my third call, even though I was only following up on a request that should have been handled after my original appointment. To make matters worse, I have also experienced billing issues, including what I believe are overcharges on my account. I have contacted the billing department twice and was promised a follow-up each time, yet I have never received a return call or any resolution. As a patient, I expect transparency, accurate billing, and responsive customer service. Unfortunately, my experience fell short in every one of those areas. I hope they improve their communication, billing practices, and follow-through so future patients don't have the same experience.

She would request someone call her and it could take days for a return call and sometimes was not from the person she needed. When she first started going through Live Well, they requested a lot of lab work and she was told that it was check and her insurance would cover the labs. We are sitting here with a bill for close to $1300!! We would not recommend this "medical" practice at all.
