History

Established in 2019.

Wave Co. Limited began in the summer of 2019, launching from Wessel's, a well-known auto repair shop in Grand Haven, thanks to Steve Vink's generosity. This location gave us essential visibility and direct feedback from nearly every user, informing our improvements and service evolution. Our fleet expanded to include two generations of Segway rideshare scooters—from the ES4 (2019-2021) to the MAX2.2 (2021-present). In 2023, we launched Grand Haven's first official rideshare with BlueDuck ActonMPro scooters, alongside new software partnerships and significant local contract costs. Challenges with local authorities have marked this expansion. In 2024, we relocated to Johnson’s Fab & Welding at 734 Park Ave on the outskirts of downtown, reigniting our commitment to providing exceptional scooter experiences. This move, though later in the season, brought us closer to our community roots, cementing our place in Grand Haven's vibrant local scene.

On the first day, on Mackinac Island, I stopped twice for an hour to recharge the scooter. The Grand Hotel was nice enough to let me in to recharge. The second day, at Grand Haven, I had to stop three times to recharge. Upon returning the scooter a day early, the staff apologies for the inconvenience and said they would look into a partial refund. A week later having not heard from the office I called them. My call was transferred and I was told that the scooter works fine and I would still be charged the full amount. Needless to say I would never do business again with Clock Mobility.

Having never rented a wheelchair-accessible van before, I wasn't sure what to expect. And I was coming in from another state to visit and transport a family member...so we had to handle everything via phone and email. But Cliff made it easy, and when the pickup day arrived, everything was perfectly in order. I can't say enough about the Pacifica van, too--it made my week with my brother SO EASY for both of us. He had such a fantastic time going everywhere with me comfortably and without wearing himself out helping with transfers. I know we'll be repeat customers. I had the privilege to change in the bathroom, where a gaggle of girls walked in talking loudly about making out with different boys and hooking up. When I came out of the stall, these young looking women were in their thong bikinis adjusting their makeup and deciding what they were planning to do next. I remember being their age, but I don't remember bragging about my sexual conquests. Are these the spoils of feminism? Objectifying and gaining body counts like some frat boy club? I suppose if it is, the beach is a good place for it and Grand Haven does have a storied history of late night cruising to pick up walkers along the strip. I remember in my youth listening to our CD player jam to Eminem and Chronic 2001 while we cruised the strip being "cool" and admiring people's car kits with hydraulics and black lit lighting. I remember thinking cut off shorts and a bikini top were revealing then. I suppose, culture keeps pushing the limits and I should just be happy that people are still wearing something over their private parts. Right? My family did love the huge kites. My children loved playing in the waves. Parking can be a bear, but once you find a spot most things are within walking distance including an interesting boardwalk with shops, restaurants and ice cream. Don't miss a walk on the pier to admire the Big Red Lighthouse and see if a lucky fisherman caught anything.

One thing I found cool was they have "sand" hazards which are just tan colored sections of the hole, not actual sand. But these tan areas seemed to have a higher resistance to the ball which adds a nice layer of difficulty to the hole. Topography wise, this is where the course falls flat...Literally. There is not a lot of terrain to the course such as caves or hills to climb. Overall this is a pretty nice course and I'll likely find myself playing here again!
