Was in town from South Florida with my husband for an anniversary trip. This is really the only place on the Island to go dance so we went two days. Friday night didn't even know there was an inside club. Saturday found that but the night DJ inside was awful like really bad. The guy outside was so much better. The guy outside was great actually. I wish they would switch the DJ. Its like the DJ inside borelander or something like that he does not even look once at the crowd he plays a song and then everyone starts dancing and then he switches the song and genre from one to another so fast- no flow- no reading the room. Like old school hip hop or good classics and then goes straight to a totally different sound doesn't even let the song hit- Its really so annoying for a girl who likes to dance. My friends and I went here last night! The staff were incredible! Shelby is phenomenal at her job. I can't express how grateful we are for her hard work and dedication! We had an awesome night because of her! The other staff members that were top tier were Alex and Steve! Truly appreciate them as well. However- the DJ, Kidd Leow was God awful! Not only was his song selection horrible but he was a Jerk (I would use other words but I'll keep this G rated) he was so rude and only played music that was on his iTunes pretty much. The song selection had my friends and I wondering what is he doing and how is he even a DJ. He barely interacted with the crowd and stood up there like he has a stick up his rear end. My wife and I went in October on a Saturday night and had a great time. We arrived around midnight after dancing at Shepherd's tiki bar before that. DJ was playing good top 40 music (and remixes) that anyone can shake their hips to. This was a much classier place than Ybor City dance clubs. People of all ages were at the Wave. I called Saturday and spoke to a girl who was EXTREMELY rude. It was our sisters 21st birthday at midnight and we wanted to celebrate at the night club. I called and asked the girl if it's okay for us to come before midnight then at midnight switch out her wrist band for 21 and up. The lady said "yeah it's not rocket science" I told the lady that's was very uncalled for and rude. We just wanted to verify the policy. Our mom then called back and was told if your under 21 you can't get into the club at all, so apparently not only were we told the wrong info we were also degraded for calling and asking in the first place. Very rude employees who basically stole our money when all but one of us did nothing wrong. Our friend that did something wrong deserved to have her money/id taken but they had no right to take the rest of our friends and my money... so one of our friends (20) tried using her sisters ID but they knew it wasn't her and took it from her and told her to leave the premise or they would call the cops. Management of the bouncers is among absolutely the rudest people I have ever met, had an issue with our New Jersey ID's even though they had all markings, scanned but they decided they "looked fake". We were all above age and offered 2nd forms of ID. Refused to give us the non emergency number or give us ID's back, and talked down to us the entire time. Had a night out with the hubby on a Wednesday night. We decided to go here and turned out a to be a very fun night. The place was not packed because it was midweek. Drinks were inexpensive. The music was good, and so were the drinks. I love the laid back atmosphere, and the terrace area looking out the ocean. Not sure why people complain about this place. It was a fun night for us! Stayed a week at the hotel. Went here on my last night and was removed due to bumping into someone who had a bottle of liquor in their hand. Bottle fell and broke, I ended up apologizing but even then I was labeled a troublemaker. Two minutes later I was removed from the club by "security" and thrown out of my own hotel. Had two of my friends staying with me grab all my things and left 12 hours earlier than I was suppose to leave. I just figured out they charged me for the broken bottle at a price of $150. Stay away, far, far away. If you want to go to a "club" type atmosphere I suggest you head into tampa or st petes. I have never been treated so badly in my entire life. Even when I asked to speak with a manager of the entire hotel I was literally picked up and thrown out onto the curb. A few people in the club came out to ask me why they threw me out and even explained what happened to the manager on duty. So im out $150 for a bottle of vodka, $250 for a plane ticket change and bruised by the rude and extremely forceful security. I will be seeking legal advice to figure out what to do as I believe I had done nothing wrong and it cost me a fortune. read more

As far as dance clubs go, this one is ridiculously fun. Now, please be aware that to really have fun you have to let loose a little and be okay with under 21s and some ratchet messes. Other than that, this place is actually cool. There's VIP seating, go go dancers, and a DJ booth. Sometimes, there is live music or a DJ on the patio outside where there's also bars to order drinks from. The drink prices are pretty steep, but otherwise, this place is a good time. read more

Having been to numerous clubs across the country, including dives in the armpit of North Carolina, I can honestly say I have never been to a more unprofessional or distasteful venue. The security guards, who resembled colossal gorillas, appeared to have no appreciation or acknowledgement for any of the guests, and the staff were beyond impolite. The club itself offers a satisfying tiki venue, but that was quickly replaced with several inches of standing water after a "plumbing incident." The employees don't have a problem with kicking paying customers out without compensation, or even giving customers a dry paper towel to clean their soaking shoes. All in all, Wave has managed to turn an already mediocre club into dump... but at least they're big on the 3D water SFX. read more

I'm married SO yes i looked but didn't touch ha ha . the crowds are mixed you have from 18years to the older crowds and let me tell you everyone mingled and had a nice time no dram at the club or anything which was nice .I also enjoyed the outside it was beautiful the deck was on top of clear water beach you hear the music as you see the stars and boats pass by it was nice . I had what they call the wave special which was a punch bucket for 12 dollars for up to 4 people . My yummy bucket was filled with lemonade,orangejuice,cocunut rum,pinapple rum and spiced rum it was so yummy and because i was the only drinker yes i did finish my bucket lol . Overall i had a blast with my niece and her friends at the club i gotta say They only bad part was you had to pay a fee under 21 was $15 ,Florida residents $7 and non florida residents $10 so boo on that note read more

So I've been here three times and have spent a hefty sum, but really get no love out of this place. IMO, the club is too conservative, especially for one that charges a cover, has no dress code and is 18+. It's just a weird place overall. You have young military guys and bachelorette parties mixing with all of the retirees and tourists and weird locals, to be quite frank. This place is more concerned with keeping shoes off the faux white leather couches than with whether local guests are going to return. WFLZ the radio station was there that night and they were doing birthday shoutouts so my friends birthday was on the 19th and I got him on the radio with the radio personality. This is probably my least favorite nightclub/place to hang out. The place isn't the problem, it's the staff. They are rude and seem to have an attitude about something. Mike is a complete asshole and try to ID me and my friend while we were eating when it was clear that we were over the age to drink. He's try to act big and tough but he clearly isn't. The bartender had an attitude and when we received the drink, she didn't say thank you or use any manners nor did she greet us. On top of that, the security give you a hard time and follow you around which made me feel very uncomfortable. We ended leaving the premises due to being uncomfortable. I'm not how Mike and some staff members have jobs. If you don't believe me, try it yourself or read the rest of the reviews mentioning him and others. This place is overrated, and filled with a bunch of old dudes that grab up on girls. The security does not watch what's going on inside the club, rather was trying to come into the club that they pay. I was going to order a bottle to get VIP, and then was told that there is a VIP charge on top of bottle service. I have never heard of this in my life before. I was then told if I can get a cabana or lounge section, we could do whatever we wanted. There was clearly no food on the menu. Only bottles. I went back and order a drink from the bar, and saw a bartender spit in the wet bar area. Disgusting. I then went To pick up a pizza delivery, and a security guard by the name of Mike was quite aggressive and assertive towards me. He questioned me as if I was delirious, if I had even read the menu. Yes Mike I actually have, and it's only bottles available. I was told if I got a cabana we could do whatever we wanted as it is outside the venue. Mike continued to try to start an argument. When I then told Mike, that I was given mixed communication on several occasions did he realize that there was nothing to discuss. But I told him that somebody spit in the wet bar, he realize that there was nothing to argue. Never again will I return to this establishment. It's sad that it is spring break, and that they tried to pick arguments with people who are trying to help their operation run smoothly. I then called to speak with management, to let them know about the poor behavior from Mike. I could not get a manager on the phone.
