I'm so happy this outdoor restaurant is located at the hotel we are staying at as it came highly recommended and I can see why! While at the beach we started to get hungry so me and my princess decided to grab an early dinner after a day of long travel and the hotel receptionist said " go eat outside at the sandbar!" Brianna was our server and was amazing ! She made my little one a Shirley temple which she loved and kept the cold beers coming for me . We ordered shrimp cocktail for appetizers and wings then I decided on the grouper sandwich with a side salad and fries and mini cheeseburger sliders and fries for my little one. We enjoyed our view of the ocean and stayed after we ate and got to see dolphins swimming near by. We will definitely be having lunch here a few more times before we leave. Great place! Been here twice now and it does not disappoint. Great views, good food and a lively atmosphere. Came here with my fam in late June 2026. We had drinks to start; my 20 year old and 16 year old had soda. Wife had a Coroner and I have the spicy jalepeno margarita. All was great! We did not get apps, but there are lots of choices. For mains I had the Birria tacos with onion rings. One daughter had the same. Great taste, but if I had to do it over I would get a side of salad or coleslaw as it was a lot of fried on my plate. That said, finished it all! My other daughter had the chicken Cesar salad and loved it. Chicken was very tasty. My wife had the grouper basket. She thought it was tasty and hit the spot. I showed up with fifteen people and they took good care of us. Cold drinks and really good food. Our server checked on us constantly and we were well served. CLEAR WATER BEACH When my daughter suggested to her sister and me that we take a trip to the Clearwater beach, I reminded her that we have beaches closer to us. She said they did not compare with the Clearwater Beach. As we pulled into a parking spot near SANDBAR, a restaurant located beachside in Clearwater, I was already convinced we had made the right choice. They headed to the beach and pristine seashore as I made my way up to the outside restaurant. It has a straw covered hut that provides shade and sunshine and a spectacular view of the beach. I was ready for a cool drink and some chips and salsa. As I watched my daughters walking along the beach in the distance I felt I was on vacation. When they joined me, my daughters and I were ready for lunch. Our server displayed great customer service and when asked for a light lunch recommendation she suggested baked fajitas. They were perfect and cooked to perfection. The tranquility of this location made leaving a painful choice. We will return and spend another day at this vacation location. read more

We dined here as a family and the food was overall delicious and the staff were pretty attentive to our needs throughout our visit. The oceanfront views are stunning and the tiki hut added a nice vibe to the place. The wait time was super quick as well, we only waited 20ish mins to be seated. I highly recommend their smash burger and fries, they were very delicious. The one complaint our relatives had was that their kid's Mac n cheese was severely lacking cheese and did not taste good. It also appeared to be Kraft Mac n cheese, but with less sauce than the boxed version. Other than that everything else was great! Parking is conveniently located steps away in a paid lot. read more

Who doesn't love an ocean food while eating seafood and having drinks! I mean that is hard to beat or complain about, not much can go wrong when you are eating in paradise. We were immediately sat for a late lunch, without a reservation. The hardest part and longest part of eating here was finding parking. There is a paid parking lot right next to the hotel/restaurant, but good luck getting a spot. We ended up valeting with the hotel, and paying $15 to park. The food was a little hit or miss. Our drinks came out super quick and both tasted exactly as anticipated. We got a blueberry lemonade and a Hawaiian coconut, one was tart and one was sweet. (If it was my choice, I would've mixed them). For an appetizer we got chips, salsa, and guacamole. The salsa was made by someone without taste because it the consistency was very thick, but also very watery, and had no seasoning. Then the guacamole was good, but nothing to die for, but since the salsa was so bad, I would probably not order again. Then things took a turn for the better, the grouper tacos and onions rings were delicious. The grouper was cooked to perfection and the onion rings were a little over done which gave them the perfect crisp and kept them from falling apart. I will say the food was pretty Americanized for what it was... considering the tacos had shredded cheddar cheese on them. Lastly, we got a piece of key lime pie which was the perfect tartness, but the crust was a little off. It was more graham cracker consistency and rather than a cheese cake crust. Overall, I would consider this more of an evening drinks place for sunset and dessert rather than dinner, but I did eat it all and nothing made me want to not come back. read more

the sandbar is the most beautifully located spot along the coast, and gave ritzy california vibes without the ritzy price. This place was definitely an awesome spot to hit for the view & live music! FOOD : i got the grilled jerk chicken sandwich and thought it was decently good. i don't have anything bad to really say about it but also don't have any raving reviews. the flavor was pretty good and i liked how they added pineapple, but otherwise it just felt pretty average to me. My sister & mom got the cuban sandwich and they seemed to feel the same, they liked it but weren't either upset or overjoyed about it. My other sister got the grouper and seemed to enjoy it -- she also, was fairly indifferent. Not a bad spot to hit but it just isn't a five star, rock your world, kind of spot. ATMOSPHERE \ SERVICE : service wasn't outstanding by any means. she did her job but was kind of okay with the bare minimum. we had a severe soy allergy and she wasn't the most helpful or concerned, which is always nerve racking when you're not sure if theyre really making sure the food is clean and aren't trying to take a trip to the ER. Like i said, the atmosphere was awesome and the live music & ocean view was spectacular, but the service wasn't stellar. overall it's a great spot if you're looking for a view & good vibes, above average food, and just a place to hang by the sea. read more

The views are incredible, service quick and friendly- Brenen was fantastic! I ordered the crab BLT and it was the best food I've had in Clearwater, 10/10. Pretty perfect spot to sit, hang out for a drink, snack, and sunset. We hung out here after having dinner at Opal Sands at Seaguini. Everything was pretty perfect, & I would come back here in a heart beat. The hotel beach bar has a great view, & there's parking on the side of the hotel. This is an update of our most recent experience at Opal Sand's bar on the hotel level. I don't want it to be confused with the sandbar (lower level). We had the STRANGEST dining experience we have ever had. Our waitress seemed to be on a completely different planet. She made our dining experience so uncomfortable and strange. She kept trying to prematurely take out food away, brought the bill way before we needed it, was truly behaving like someone who under the influence. The experience of was so strange that we cut our lunch short and left. My husband refused to tip her because there was not only poor service, it was strange and off putting. I called twice to speak to a manager and left to messages for Alexis, but never received a call back. I didn't have the opportunity to enjoy my lunch.
