Nice, clean machines. Were shiny and perhaps relatively new. They have two sized washers, $3 and $5.25 I think. The drier is 4 minutes for 25 cents. The lady attendant there was very helpful and polite. I will definitely visit again. I am sad though, that they do not accept credit cards as a mode of payment. Collecting coins or even cash nowadays is a major inconvineince. read more

Expensive. The small washers seem to be always out of order so need to use the $8 large ones. They also increased the cost of drying - it is now 0.25 for 2 minutes. Of course there is no signage letting people know of this excessive increase (or decrease in time) so you don't find out until you have a basket full of wet clothes. So congratulations, you got an extra $6 from me (more if you count having to use the expensive washers), but I will never be going back so you lost my weekly business. read more

She is always on her phone and does not want to help her customers that are using her machines. Both quarter machines are out of order. The service is expensive, the attitude is dismissive. She doesn't want to help locate items that were stolen out of the machine while it was in use. There is no customer service at this laundromat. She pushes you out of the way to wipe machines off at the end of the day. There is no courteous communication. There is a lack of respect for paying customers. I will never go back. read more

Decent laundromat. $5.75 per load (or 23 quarters)= yikes! I've never paid more than $3.50 per load up until now. Dryer cycles? 4 minutes per quarter. Bruh, I know that we are still in the age of Covid, but that is mad expensive. Count also the attendant who is rude enough to not want to change your bills into quarters due to the laundromat's change machine being out of order makes this experience more on the "meh" level. When the attendant wants to work, its like pulling teeth in getting her to assist with anything. I almost felt bad for interrupting her book reading time within the booth in the back (and behind plexiglass) just to ask her a question regarding the machines + obtaining more quarters to spend within this business. There are some things, that, no matter how old or experienced you get... never stop being weird. Transferring your delicates across a laundromat to do a quick/cheap dry cycle is one of those things. Even worse... taking your delicates out of a top dryer and having a couple fall on the floor in front of a group of other humans... it's just... strange. Welcome to Waves of Suds. Where (granted, just like any other laundromat) strangers can see all of your clothes and recognize who they belong to. As those who frequent this location now know... I'm the girl with the neon undies that would rather cling to anything besides my wicker basket. **face palm** Despite the distance between their best washing machines and their cheapest dryers, this really is a quality spot to do your laundry. All of the washers cost the same ($3.30), but in order to get the bang for your buck, you need to know one key tip. Not all dryers are made equal. Many of the machines here cost $5.50 for any size dryer load, but there is one exception. There is a wall of six large/industrial load dryers. They are the white ones on the far right wall, and they are the best dryers in the place. Snag one if you can!! These are pay-by-the-minute machines, instead of a flat rate for your load. Bonus - they dry your belongings significantly faster than the other dryers because of the size of the machine. USE THESE ONES. The only time I'd suggest that you be wary of them is if you need to run an air dry or low heat cycle, because regardless of what the settings tell you, these machines run HOT. A medium heat load is the equivalent of your hot dry cycle in a load at home. Put your quarters in and wait for the "plunk" sound after each coin. And most importantly, use these dryers with caution, because you will not get reimbursed for shrunken or damaged pieces after running them through the Waves of Suds machines. 3 stars for expense of the machines - the awkwardness here is solely my personal anecdote and may not be your experience ;) read more

Laundromats are becoming extinct, and when I do find them, I can't believe how limited the hours are at many of them. Waves of Suds gets one star alone just for offering longer hours than most laundromats in the vicinity. The space is well used, but it is well maintained. There are some newer looking machines, so it seems they are keeping them updated, and all have seemed to work well the times I've been there. They have a small and a large washer. It's all coin operated with no option for credit/debit cards; but they do of course have a bill changer. The attendant is pleasant and helpful. I greatly appreciate the service they offer because it can be hard to keep clean clothes when your washer at home breaks down, and it will be a couple of weeks before it is repaired or replaced. read more

My clothes were stolen and the attendant lady kept saying "no they weren't". My experience was unbelievable. Finally a lady across the aisle asked me if "this is your laundry?" that was in a dryer across from the washer where I had washed two loads that had just finished, ready for me to put them in the dryer. Seems a little pricey but the washers and dryers can hold huge loads. There are a lot of them and they seem well maintained. Although it was busy when we came in, there were plenty of machines available and we were able to dry our load of laundry in about 20 minutes. Although we rarely have to use a commercial laundry, it is great that there is still this option. We had to use it when the power went out in our apartment for the entire day (power outage occurred mid load too). read more

Overall the washers and dryers are usable but the dirty floors and scum all over the pink walls is less than inviting. a few of the smaller units are out of order. The place has not been remodeled in a long time. No customer service which is better than rude owners which other review had commented about. The writing is on the walls literally. The place is run down and dilapidated if this wasn't in kirkland and out in the middle of nowhere I would have given this place a C for crappy. As far as laundromats go, this one is the best in the area. I drove to multiple locations and was relieved when I found this one. After my washer broke, I had a ton of laundry to do. I was able to get it done within half an hour. I was also happily relieved that they the lady at the counter will let you withdraw cash for the coin-operated machines. Sure, it had a 1$ fee associated with it but seriously, I just wanted the whole ordeal over with. Dryers were 25 cents for 4 minutes, and they dry pretty well. The place is mostly clean, almost all machines are working. Not crowded, and there are places to sit and laundry carts available to help you move your laundry. read more

When your 30+-year-old washer suddenly goes on strike, it's time to saddle up and head for the laundromat. Waves of Suds is reasonably near my place and open at workable hours, so off I went. I visited in mid-afternoon, before people started getting home from work, and things were pretty quiet -- only a half-dozen customers. There's an attendant on the premises, a change machine and a laundry products dispenser if you forgot to bring the Tide. This is the first laundromat I've visited where the majority of machines were in good working condition. You have your choice of standard washers, high-efficiency washers or the ultra-huge commercial washers that can handle big items like blankets and quilts. At the time of this writing, the cost to operate a standard washer is $2.50; the commercial washers are $5.00. Can't tell you anything about the dryers, since I didn't use them (my home dryer works, at least for the time being). Overall, I can think of worse ways to kill 20 minutes. read more

The management / staff of this place is cruel and un-kind to customers, I have witnessed this multiple times. Today I witnessed an insane yelling match that went on for over 25 minutes between "Louie L" (see below) and the staff. The staff has been abusive to me also here. I don't know how customer are meant to be treated or if laundering clothes is such a desperate activity but this is not how people should be treated in the Seattle area or any other city. Yes, they have machines, yes they work - but you can expect to be treated like a 4th class citizen and potentially abused verbally. And the parking is always horrible too. read more

Perfect four stars it is a laundramat nothing more nothing less. Every time I have come here I can find an open machine. I haven't experienced any of the drama other people have had with the owner. Usually when I walk in she would great me and leave me to my business unless I need something and then she is pretty helpful. If you need to do your laundry then this is the place to do it that's close by. You can put your laundry in and walk to the Starbucks which is close while your laundry finishes. I tend to get my haircut next door at Weldon so I can put in a load and get a haircut as well. read more

I had NO idea how expensive it's gotten to do laundry since my college days ... 19 Quarters ($4.75) just to wash one load if you want it done in 20 minutes. The driers are good, but they will cost ya as well. We are able to get in/out in under usually in 1.5 hours w/ 5 loads of laundry but we usually spend $40 doing it using the good machines. read more

It's a pretty solid place. Cost is roughly five dollars for a huge load you can get a decent sized one for 2.50. Dryers are a reasonable 1 dollar every 16 minutes. They have a lot of machines and the place is pretty decent. It's not modern by any means so don't expect television or wifi but on the Eastside I guess they expect everyone to have a washer and dryer. If you don't have change don't freak out they have a change machine and if you need to use a debit or credit card they only charge you one dollar. Plenty of parking here too. Hint: use the washers designed for bigger loads they really clean your clothes well. It's worth the money just bring a big load so you get your money's worth. read more

WOW, this place & the owners are amazing! The belt on my washer broke & it filled the tub with smoke, my clothes smelt so bad & they were still wet. I was so stressed that I ruined mine & my husbands work clothes. I found this place (conveniently open on Sundays) walked in with my wet smelly clothes & the gentleman & lady that worked there put me at ease, assured me that they could get the smell out & everything will be fine. Came back a few hours later (same day!) & everything was fine, clothes back to normal & smelling clean! First I came in to do my laundry and I found the machines to be very tiny and small and not take on a lot of the clothes that I had if I wanted to get something done like my whites and colors I would have to have paid for more than four little lame machines that did absolutely nothing then when I went to dry my clothes the owner of the place robbing me to put more coins in just to get a comforter dry she kept timing out my quarters when I'm to get over 5 minutes per $0.25 it was horrible she was rude and nasty and kept insisting I put more coins in the dryer. They rob people at this place and they're very f****** rude I will never take my clothes back to this place and I will even post signs for other people not to do so they rob people and all they want is money and the unfair and their machines suck!!! read more

The laundromat here is pretty decent. Washers able to do 1, 2, and 4 loads at once; big dryers. All are pretty clean. They provide clothes baskets to move stuff from machine to machine. And a change machine dispensing the required quarters. The instructions on use aren't very clear, but there is staff there to help. This was my third time here. The woman in charge was doing the fold-and-wash service. While doing that, she was carrying on a conversation via speakerphone on her mobile. The mobile was on its loudest setting and she was yelling at it in order to be heard as she worked (and she and her friend often both talked at the same time). Between the loud tinny sound of the speakerphone and her yelling, it was very annoying. I tried to read, but it was impossible with all that going on. If the owners read this, please tell the employees to use headphones or earbuds (or better yet, keep the phone calls behind the counter). read more

Rude staff!!! We arrived at 6pm, 2 hours before it closes. But by 6:50 the attendant was getting angry & demanding we split our laundry out of the 3 large dryers & pay more to have them in 6 little dryers. We kept telling her it was fine, but she kept opening the smaller dryer doors & demanding we put them n there instead. With 40 minutes left before it closed, we gave up, took our damp clothes & towels & drove to another Laundromat to avoid being hounded. We are now drying our stuff there while this place has 17 minutes before it closes. Ridiculous!!! We will never go here again!!! read more

I have been bringing my buisiness' towels here for YEARS for them to wash. the last month they DOUBLED my price and told me my laundry was smelly and dirty and they charged me extra. Today I picked up 4 small loads (in effort to help with the "smell") and what would have cost me $60 a month ago, ran me $122. If you use the bigger machines it is $5.00. I loaded my clothes in, left my basket and detergent to go to my car real quick. I came back and someone stole my detergent. I browsed the whole entire laundry mat and couldn't find it. I asked the Chinese owner and he replied that he didn't see anything. Then I looked around and found it sitting on top of a washer, the Chinese owner said - no that's not yours it's mines. I left home with no detergent. I'm so upset. When I took my clothes out of the washer, some parts of my blanket was not even damp or wet from the wash.. This Kirkland area is so ghetto, just knowing that someone would really want to steal detergent and the owner would not even protect his own customers. Clean, fair prices, attendant on duty, and nearly all the machines work. The parking can be difficult, as it's a small, narrow, dead-end lot. The owner has an annoying habit of turning on his cell phone speaker and engaging in very loud conversations. Sometimes the conversation stops and customers are treated to the sound of children yelling, crying, banging, etc. coming through the phone speaker. First off, this isn't the best place to go to, but the service and machines make up the difference. Here's a breakdown on prices: $2.50 / Wash Load $4.75 / Super Wash Load ----This ones a beast $0.25 / 4 minutes of drying time (Commercial Dryers) One thing to note is the older washers can do a load in as little as 20 minutes, while the newer washes can do the same in 40 minutes. They cost the same and the only difference is quality of cleaning. If you have nice or fine garments, use the new washers, as they provide a gentler wash. If you're running late (Suds closes at 8pm, last wash load by 6:30pm) you can drop off your clothes and Suds will finish the job for you at an inflated cost. Costs vary, so contact them for more info. I think this place gets a bad rap because most people aren't laundromat folks. The lady behind the counter was quick to answer any questions and when I became confused when using a machine for the first time, I looked at her and before speaking she said "Press the Start button." It may sound derpy, but the stacked dryers are not the most user friendly, and you're time (from money insterted) doesn't show up on the dryer until you press start. And the place is very clean and remains that way throughout the day. I always come here and do around 5-7 loads and leave in two hours. I don't know about you but as a busy person, it's a great luxury. If they didn't close so early, I'd give them 5 stars. Hope this helps. read more

I've been coming here for years and I had the worst experience ever. Came in to wash some blankets and saw two Chinese men trying to figure out using the machine. They were trying to use the big commercial washer washer with only few t shirts and a pair of pants so I showed them they can use the small washer which is much cheaper. I was showing them how to us the machine and this worker (Vietnamese lady) starts to yell at me and starts to tell me I can't talk to the customer and not allowed to help someone?????? And threatens me to take my wash out and kick me out for helping someone because she wasn't because she was too busy watching something on her phone.... I know she is not the owner and she is telling me that she is.... No Words... me and my family will never come back here. I have relatives who owns dry cleaners around this area who come here to wash their blankets..... read more

Well run with a very courteous and helpful staff. We took our 14 year old Labrador in to bathe him. It was great to be able to give him a warm bath in an easy to access tub. They had all of the supplies including hypoallergenic shampoo, no tear face wash and supplies for cleaning his ears. Plus for $10 they clipped his nails. He seemed happy and so were we! read more
