It was odd to see at first, but a welcomed sight on a very hot 100+ degree day. I arrived in the area shortly before an event was to happen that I just so happened to be attending. I wanted to prepare myself as I could feel I was going to be dehydrated. I am so happy I did this as we were standing in the sun for so very long that I felt I was going to melt. I ran inside, went straight to the cooler section and grabbed myself two waters. I saw I had the option to use self checkout, but was closer to the traditional register. I decided to go the traditional route, but should have opted for the self checkout. No fault to the company, it was the customer in front of me that had no concern for other customers. It took longer than it would have if I went to the self checkouts. Paid, I nearly guzzled the first water. I was happy to see this so close to the nearby sites, if I needed anything else, I knew I would stop back here before leaving. read more

Wawa on the historic mile in Philadelphia, right near the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, is one of the larger stores in the chain and covers a lot of ground for what it is. I walked into a space that felt big, well stocked, and surprisingly comprehensive: a bakery, a coffee bar, a full hoagie counter, and a convenience store all under one roof. The ordering process took some figuring out. Food is ordered at a touchscreen kiosk, paid for at the register, and then picked up at a separate counter. Drinks are handled independently from food as well. None of it felt intuitive as a first timer, and there was not much in the way of signage or staff guidance to walk me through the flow. I found myself standing around more than once trying to figure out where to go next. Wait times for prepared food became a real issue during the lunch rush. I waited over 25 minutes for a simple hoagie, and I noticed others around me had been waiting even longer. For a convenience store setup, a 20 to 35 minute wait is longer than you would expect. If you are in a hurry or working around a tight schedule, that is worth factoring in before you commit to a hot food order. The store itself is clean and the product selection is solid. Very cool and large Wawa. Prolly the biggest I've been in. I was visiting Philly for a day, and after I saw the Liberty Bell, I needed a coffee and some carbs. Lo and behold, this Wawa was across the street, blending in with all the surrounding historic sites. Fortunately the inside was very modern and well organized. There were several large coffee stations with tons of different flavors of coffee and creamer. There was also a bakery section where I was able to pick up a packaged croissant that was surprisingly soft, fresh, and delicious. Only drawback was I sat at a table that was pretty gross, so housekeeping could use a boost. Otherwise, good visit! read more

This location, located across from the Liberty Bell, is the biggest Wawa in the world! If you are a Wawa-lover, definitely make your way to this one. There is ample seating and plenty of snacks/drinks available for purchase. The tables were clean and the store was well-maintained. The hot food ordering station has many kiosks, which ensures that there is almost never a wait to order. The food comes out hot and relatively fast. I came on Thanksgiving day to get a turkey gobbler hoagie for lunch, and the workers were nice and courteous. The Turkey Gobbler with Mashed Potatoes was surprisingly decent at this location. As one of the few, if not only, places to get a gobbler on Thanksgiving day, it helps hold off that craving. The turkey was moist and tender, with plenty of gravy to not let it be dry. The bread was soft and pillowy, with a slight chew. The gravy, however, did not have much flavor and almost tastes like school-cafeteria quality. The mashed potato was the same, but it did has cheese mixed in that created a nice cheese-pull stretchy bite. I also got the Roasted Chicken Fajita Quesadilla. It came out hot and fresh. The tortilla was crunch and slightly chewy in a good way. The vegetables added a "fresh" element to the quesadilla. Chicken was soft, moist, and well-seasoned. I loved how big and spacious this Wawa is. Other locations are very small and constricting when you go during rush hour. However, this location has enough space for everyone and a large variety of options. You can go inside and place your order on the kiosk for pickup. I love the different items available at Wawa. You can try everything there and not get bored of it. The best thing is that everything is at an affordable price. This location was a life saver during our trip to Philly. We were able to stop in and pick up items as we needed. Some snacks during the day or ice cream on a hot summer day. Everything was available here. I saw the Hello Panda cookies which came in chocolate and strawberry. I didn't see these in any of the other Wawa locations. This was an interesting treat. I work near this Wawa and have stopped by for food on a couple of occasions. This is one of the largest (if not the largest) Wawa locations that I have ever visited. The ceilings, doors and just the overall layout is huge. This building was definitely not originally designed as a Wawa. As a result of this Wawa's size, I think they have more food options than the normal Wawa offerings. They have a large variety of grab and go options, drinks and chips. The usual Wawa prepared food orders (on a screen) are also offered. Despite the largest size and the many customers, the service here is very efficient. The lines move decently fast and the made-to-order food options come out fast. Altogether, this is a good Wawa location. I will return! read more

Other than the set up and unique style of this wawa there is nothing that is special about this wawa. Do not order via the app unless you want your order to be wrong and deal with rude workers who act like it is a bother to facilitate the mobile orders. All staff seem to be very bitter if you ask any form of question and my experience with the lines seem to contradict many other reviews. I have gone frequently to this wawa from July 2025 to the present (nov 2025) and never had a great experience. It's ginormous. Seriously. This is the biggest Wawa by far that I've ever been in. Perhaps it's the two story ceiling - done clearly to accommodate the beautiful arched windows in the historic building this Wawa is in. I walked a few short blocks there on a lovely spring day after attending some nearby training. As it was lunchtime it was crowded, however I used my handy-dandy Wawa app in advance to order. No matter, there were tons of kiosks. "Wander" and "Wawa" sound alike but you don't usually get to wander around a Wawa - they're usually more compact. This one, though, you can wander. They even had Wawa "gear" for sale in some cubby. The people working there were insanely nice, shout out to Maurice at the checkout register who helped me both pay for my pre-order, adding a 32 ounce drink because I could not figure out how to do it, but also cheerfully conversed with me about the new place, the new Sprite variety (terrible name, addictive flavor) and life in general. As with every other Wawa, my sandwich was predictably good, they are very consistent about their food. It doesn't make it the best sandwich or hoagie in the world. I feel its a Captain Obvious thing to review places like Wawa. But as the "Duke" I guess I am inclined to write one. This Wawa is at great location near large office buildings, the Liberty Bell, and other key city locations. This also means its a very crowded Wawa. But don't worry, this Wawa is spacious and well set up to accommodate crowds. They have a ton of employees monitoring the deli and cash registers so lines move quick and deli orders are prompt. There is an island of deli order screens to the right of the deli. But theres a solo screen by the beverage bar that no one seems to notice or use (hint). Unique to this Wawa is a custom beverage bar, and ample seating and tables. This Wawa can compete with any of the local coffee shops and offers better prices. Use the Wawa app to occasionally get free sodas to beat the city's Soda Tax. read more

As someone who has lived in the west coast or south all her life, i have never ever heard about wawa until 2 days ago. Wawa is like Buccees but even better in my personal opinion. They have everything and it is not super overwhelming. I went on tikity tokity to do my research on what to get and tiktok definitely did not fail me. I have never been to a Wawa in my life. Despite this being a pretty dirty city, and expectations of convenience stores as being dirty and full of stale food, Wawa was the total opposite. I sat next to a very friendly lady over at Wawa's set of couches, who at first asked if I was going to be in my seat any longer. Most of the time, when I am asked that, someone wants my seat or they're telling me that I make a better door. This was the friendliest lady and I'm actually surprised with all the issues outside that she would ask a complete stranger to watch her things. The hot dog she had in her pile of things looked really good so I bought one as well. When she got back, we had an in depth conversation about how other Wawa's of the area closed due to the homeless population misbehaving, and that the plants on the wall are real- and the Wawa is cleaned regularly. The staff were quite friendly as well, and the food was very decently priced. I got a bottle of water around $1.30 (they sell it for $3 at the cart outside the store) and a 1/4 hotdog for about $5. You can grab as many packets of relish, ketchup, mustard etc as you need. The Wawa has a really good selection of bites to eat with at least 2-3 locations for hot food. The restrooms were clean, with multiple stalls, and they keep the entry code at the front desk. read more

This is a huge Wawa that is a welcome addition to my Old City neighborhood. It's well stocked with all the drinks, candy, and snacks you would expect at a Wawa. On my most recent visit I got 2 Tastykake pies for $2.22. There is always a tastykake sale when I'm at this Wawa. Service is faster at the food counter than at other locations. Wawa makes good hoagies, but the rolls are not as good as they used to be and that prevents me from giving any Wawa 5 stars now. The food options have been expanded to many other items like burgers. There are cashiers at each end of the store, keeping the lines from getting too long. I like that there is plenty of space around the free ATM machines so there is no need for anyone to be right up on you when you get your money. This is the BIG Wawa next to Independence Hall. Wow, what an incredible location! This Wawa is huge and even has a fair amount of seating during the day and evening. (They don't offer any seating during the overnight hours.) It's the best place in the immediate area to grab a quick breakfast sandwich or one of their signature hoagies. And of course, at night, it's about the ONLY place to get food. One of the best things is that they have public bathrooms. If you're visiting Independence Park, finding a public bathroom can be a real challenge. Thank you, Wawa for providing a basic human need. You're the best! read more

The newest and biggest Wawa (so far) has opened in the historic district at 6th and Chestnut! Boasting ~11,500 sq ft of open layout space in the Public Ledger building, it's an impressive space that feels more like an airport food court than a convenience store (it's so big that they announce order numbers over the in-store pa system). At first glance: it's a gigantic "L" shaped layout - you walk in where the lines meet: On the "I" part: checkout counters, sizzlis, coffee/condiment kiosks, Wawa souvenirs, and deli. On the "_" part: groceries, food/drink fridges, ATMs, and more checkout counters. Oh, and this spot has 3 different Wawa Reserve coffee options (!!!) There were lines, live music, a parade, ribbon cuttings, and a huge mass of humanity ... because, hey, free coffee (this weekend)! read more

Okay right off the bat (is that a real saying in English?), this is not your typical Wawa although it kinda is as well. It's the largest Wawa in the world and has artistic murals and comfy seating and it takes a minute or two to figure out where you want to go or where you pay. But all this makes it more interesting than your usual Wawa and it's great to have attractive places where you can eat inside the store. I ordered a Buffalo chicken cheese steak which was good enough although not exceptional ... but the price is def cheap. The ongoing government shutdown at this time has closed the nearby Liberty Bell and Independence Hall ... but nothing will shutdown Wawa! read more

Everyone can criticize this Wawa all they want, but I was around when there wasn't a Wawa in the old city area and it stunk! But for real a review. The food is good, you can get federal doughnuts there and always a good chance of a special edition hoagie. My go-to is their salad, which are pretty tasty. My only complaint is they might be a little cheap on the dressing, but other than that it's pretty damn good. When Wawa had the Broad Street Meatball hoagie, I tried to order two, but this Wawa gave me two regular meatball parms, I wrote to Wawa and they immediately refunded my money through my Wawa rewards card. I finally got those broad street meatballs and they did not disappoint! In conclusion, great place to visit and if something does happen and you are not satisfied with your food, Wawa's customer service is fantastic and will fix the situation ASAP! read more

Five stars. Five words: If you know, you know. Wawa is a staple to anyone in the NJ/PA area. And apparently, this location is the **biggest in the world** [As per my friend, but she may be a questionable source]. It is a pretty large location, so who knowssss. But its your pretty standard Wawa. There are a couple more kiosks to order from, the bakery looks a little more legit (even though Wawa doughnuts are good EVERYWHERE).
