Stay far away from Way Scarff Ford. I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership for approximately $55,000, and shortly after getting it home I discovered a major oil leak. When spending that kind of money on a vehicle, you would expect much better quality, inspection, and customer care than what I have experienced. The vehicle has been at the Chevy dealership since June 15th for diagnosis and repairs. The original issue was identified as a leaking timing chain cover. However, once the technician began disassembling the front of the engine, he discovered an additional oil leak from an oil block-off plug that also requires replacement. What initially appeared to be one issue turned out to be multiple oil leaks requiring significant repairs. What makes this even more concerning is that Way Scarff Ford stated they performed an oil change before selling the vehicle. If that is true, it is difficult to believe these leaks went unnoticed. Any technician performing an oil change should have seen oil leaking down the front of the engine and identified the problem before the vehicle was sold. As a customer, I expected a vehicle that had been properly inspected and was ready to drive. Instead, I purchased a $55,000 vehicle that immediately required major engine repairs and has spent a significant amount of time in the repair shop since purchase. The entire experience has been frustrating and disappointing. When spending $55,000 on a vehicle, you should not be dealing with major oil leaks days after taking delivery. If you are considering purchasing a vehicle from Way Scarff Ford, I strongly recommend having it independently inspected before signing any paperwork. I have the worst experience with Way Scarff Ford in my life. My first car from them was used pickup truck which is I get it not new car with 20 thousand miles, warranty almost gone.... But then I bought brand new pickup truck with extended warranty up to 140k miles..... THE basic oil change goes like another challenge!!! I always have to fight with them about the loaner vehicle, im always do the apt for it and this service takes them two days!!! My car sitting on the parking lot for no reason when at the same time I can't go to work and get my money! Im tired of customer service they provide!!!! Brought my Ford truck into the service department to help diagnose the grinding sound when 4 wheel drive self engages while driving down the road at 30-40mph. Scary right?! After they've had my truck for MULTIPLE weeks Eric tells me it needs new sparks plugs and coils. He didn't even mention anything about the 4 wheel drive self engaging or the horrible grinding noise it causes. And yes, I initially told them Exactly what was happening with a video of it happening. My sales person David Perez was increcible! I have never driven an electric car before and he went over all the features with me and showed me how all the charging options worked. Sam the sales manager just made it an amazing experience. Josh in finance got me a great rate. From start to finish it was fast efficient and a real treat to work with everyone. I wrote this to there office too. It needs to be heard!!! I'm going to right a review that is true and needs to be heard about this dealership and how it takes advantage of customers. I called three weeks prior to my appointment being made saying "my 16?yr old daughters vehicle we just got has a recall on it and airbag light just turned on." And I stated their wa a couple other things I wanted looked at and we believed a diagnosis of maybe $100-$200 to be told the other issues wrong with it. I go in and Rich i believe (and whom I spoke with via phone) said we don't have time for that and hence why I made my appointment out so far. Customers in the lobby I didn't want to make a fuse. And I haven't been there in a few years office has moved but when I came in following my 16 yr old in new to driving and not waiting questing 2-3 years parked. She had to move her car in the way. Of what? When were a customer and then a bronco blocking me to just drop her car off and pull out I believe a salesman I asked how to get out when I've been going there since 16yrs old and my dad and mom over 30+ years gives me an attitude it will be moved whenever they want too. I'm at a shock whatever has been going on here and I've myself told people have had people friends family go here per referral. Left that alone. Pushed away needing to know major things about my daughters vehicle "I need to make another appointment" when I thought I did that originally being 3 weeks prior. Already told $225 for the airbag yet hadn't even been looked at and I thought that was the recall but after dropping off looked up the recall numbers no separate. But how can you tell me a price without knowing what was actually needed to be done? I asked for a fob and new key for separates. Key $80 and fob $150-$180 prove quote. It was a smile fuse to be fixed for the airbag less than $5 to fix and I should've gotten a phone call asking to even do the work because i would've said no clearly and done it myself they went ahead and did the work and I'm sorry that probably too 5 minutes to do. I get a diagnosis fee before hand which if I said yes to the work being done all included but I would've saved money. Rich tells me that ford doesn't make the fob anymore and gets a third part fob and it doesn't work either so why did I pay for a key $76 and on my paper work ACUTKEY $25 more? Are you kidding me? $101 so more Ethan the key and it doesn't even need to be coded or electrical to the vehicle being 1997. I'm not happy once again and I I'm not letting this go anymore. This place is thieves and I cannot tell anyone to go here and beware!!!! It's okay at all and insure plenty of money is made and also not the honest way anymore either. I already had a HORRIBLE thing over 7 years ago here and clearly it's still going and I don't even trust my husbands work truck being fixed here either. And my kids growing up telling them to not trust a certified dealership. And he even wants to get a bravo and I said no after this!!! I'm sorry but no not okay at all and I will be passing this information out. With the 7:8 years ago I got 4 new tires maybe 2 I can't remember said it wasn't fixable purchased then. Then two-3 months later I got another nail which was a Bradly new and also most bought 4 new tires again and I thought something was up went to is Schwab fixed the patch for free and also was out $900+ for 4 tires that couldn't be fixed. And got a call from the manager there oh well sorry I can't over look everyone's work but really? And this over. Fuse. Talk to customers. Let then decided if they can't do the work or fix it themselves first then just charge them out so much money when I could've paid $76 I guess for a key and $5 myself for a fuse not walking out over $399 for 5-10 minutes work and oh clear codes when auto zone and o turkeys looks them up for free can clear then for free and tell you what it is for the lost part. Our 2005 Mustang wouldn't start, got towed to Way Scarff. Needed a fuel pump, pump control unit and some other things. Pump has been discontinued by Ford, they had to get aftermarket unit from NAPA, cost them $311. WS billed me $541 for that part, a $230 overcharge. The control unit is a Ford part, list price of $191, but can be had from Ford for $98. WS billed me $229 for the control unit, a $131 overcharge. Total bill was $3,927 which includes the total overcharges of $360. I complained to my service advisor with no satisfaction. He offered me a "free" oil change next time, nothing more. Unacceptable. I sent multiple messages to Way Scarff's general manager. No one there has bothered to call or message me back regarding these overcharges. I have been a customer at WS for decades, have always been satisfied-- until now. Overcharging for parts is neither appropriate or appreciated. I will no longer use Way Scarff Ford for any reason. Appears that customer satisfaction is no longer available at WS. It has been supplanted by greed and profit maximization. My getting ripped off by these people happened once, and that's enough. The buying experience was great, I love my car. I don't take it in the service shop for oil changes because there are cheaper options out there. My biggest complaint is that when I got my license plate installed on my car, they did not dispose of my temp tags properly. Two years later, I am now getting toll bills and traffic violations for temp tags I trusted the dealership to take care of. When I called to let them know, they just let me know that they shred them but did not want to investigate and were very much unconcerned about their process. read more

Deceptive sales practices here. They advertise a price and we have confirmed the price on phone. After that, they asked for my information to further complete the deal which I sent in. After that, they sent me the deal sheet where they increased the price by $3000 and said that's the lowest price they can offer. Even though the car is advertised online publicly for a lower price. Bait and switch sales practices here. If anybody else experiences this, contact the WA State Attorney General's office. Deceptive sales practices in Washington State are prohibited by the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). The state Attorney General's office can take legal action against businesses that violate the CPA. I bought a 2016 Dodge Caravan in the fall of 2022 from these folks. In October of 2024 my car broke down in the middle of the intersection and the transmission had failed. I had a power train warranty with Way Scarff so I called them. It's now January 7th and I still don't have a working car---4 months later. It's been excruciating to get anything out of the service department. I had to called again and again (and again and again) to get them to tell me what was going, diagnosis, next steps, etc. Once they realized it would be months to get the transmission fixed they offered me a very very old loaner. The loaner also broke down in then middle of the road one day (!). I then had to wait until two weeks for a replacement. I was finally called to retrieve the fixed car but as soon as I drove it off the lot it was clear it was not fixed--every time I braked it shutters and revs. They told me over email...( no phone call ) that I should take it up with the sub-contractor they found to fix the car. No apologies for the inconvenience of having driven all the way to Auburn to pick it up. No apologies for the car not actually being fixed despite it being months. and the kicker is they said they could not offer me a loaner again because the first loaner was returned in poor condition. They never mentioned this when the car was towed back to them and only now months later, they are mentioning it as an excuse not to give me a loaner. Regarding the loaner--they were not able to articulate what was in poor condition (besides the mechanical failure that the car had-- which they prefusely apologized for at the time). They told me the car was dirty. I'm sure it need a very good vacuum and clean up as all cars do and because I was not expecting to return it that day (again it broke down unexpectedly with all 3 of my small children in the car). But as a result, they are now telling me they won't help me at all. a.) they won't provide a loaner despite the fact that we are now in month 4 of no fixed car and b.) they I can't work through them (they can't be bothered) but now I have to deal with the service shop that botched the job the first time that they contracted with. No ownership. No responsibility. Everyone is very polite and nice but they are truly not concerned about them backing up their warranty. I literally had to beg and complain and call constantly to get them to move the ball forward on getting my car fixed. I would never ever suggest working with these folks. read more

Wish I had of read the reviews before starting with these guys. First red flag should have been the fact that they don't/won't respond to online inquiries. Why they even offer that as an option is beyond me. Though they were sure prompt when I applied for credit. Got preliminary trade in options/trade in worth. After that....crickets. absolute radio silence. No talk of loan offers or anything. I for one do not have hours to drive back and forth to the dealer nor the time to spend hours in the dealership. I've work with dealers in the past that basically had the entire deal worked out before I ever set foot in the premises which is what I thought I was dealing with with this dealership. Good price and 0% interest for 5 years, . Service department needs training. Took truck in for 20 K service on a prepaid service pkg. all covered. They did oil change and tried to sell me items covered. Then said it did not need them only inspect and replace if need. Then put Down 16,000 miles and not 22,000 then said I was mistaken, I asked the mileage last 3 services and they corrected their mistake.. Took it back in for the 20 k service again. Left 3 messages for service manager to call me back because he was never available. No call back . A salesperson called me back days later. Before that had a module fail and replaced under warranty included program 2 keys. I lost one key and they would not repair unless I paid to program second key they sold me a key but charged me to progran it even though warranty covered program 2 keys to new module. Corporate Ford sent me a refund. 2nd vehicle awd edcspe. Took in for the 30 K service and there was a recall they had it two weeks they had the parts ordered before I brought the vehicle. there were no issues or lights on. Then something happened and they said they were waiting to hear back from corporate Ford on what to do, they called me every every 3-4 days. I kept having to call them. They were performing an update when the technician note states that the screen went black 1/2 way through. power port had no power when he tried to plug it scan tool. They couldn't figure out why then Corporate Ford finally said, replace the brain for the computer so after two weeks I picked it up. The airbag light was on and the passager restraint light was flashing on and off every few minuts. They gave it back to me like that. They didn't give me any warning whatsoever. I pulled out of the parking lot and pulled right back in went for a test drive with a technician and pointed out before driving the air bag light is on. on, and as we went around the block, the passenger restraint warning light came on and off after a few minutes. i left it 2 more days. They said they did a "wiggle" test on the driver side seatbelt buckle and that was causing the issues. They gave me an estimate because not covered by warranty or extended warranty purchased with vehicle.The driver side seat belt buckle was causing the passenger restraint, warning and the air bag light to stay on.There was no issues when I brought it in and there was no notes of any issues when I picked it up after two weeks. They gave to me like that with out warning me if the iairbag light is on the airbag may not or will not deploy if in an accident and they didn't give me any warnings or cautions about the passenger restraint light and what will happen or not happen if in accident.. ask to talk to the Service manager and he was not available asked to talk to the assistant service manager. They were not available then requested that they call me. No calls but They left a message that we were playing phone tag. Good people can have an off or bad day but to give a vehicle back to a customer with the air bag light on is not a bad or off day then to give it back again without a warning it may not deploy if in accident? And no comment about the pass restraint warning light? 2 weeks for a 30k preventive maintenance service and replace front door brackets on a recall? Good people have bad days but bad service is a team effort. Stuff happens, that's part of doing business. How we handle it makes us great or just average. I'm sure the people just need a little more training in communication skills and Customer Service. I went in to get the coolant pump checked on my fusion, that turned out to be ok. The large screen in my car though was supposedly fixed and reset. That was about a month ago and my screen still goes in/out. It is a major aspect of my car since it controls the radio,gps, back up camera, heat and ac controls. Pretty much everything. I don't know if they actually reset it or not, don't know how honest they were, All car dealerships are snake oil salesmen in some way or another. I wanted to love this place. Nice people. I met the owner, a really nice guy. Bought a 2019 Charger R/T with low miles and it was a good price. So far it's been meh. There is moisture buildup in the sunroof that won't go away. The wind deflector is constantly wet, that's not normal. Went to have it looked at, and they said it was normal and nothing wrong with it. No, it is not normal and there is something wrong with it. I put around 1000 miles on it since I bought it and the tires need to be replaced. When the car wouldn't grip well during heavy rain, I found that out and started to spin out. It also took 2 months to get a refund on the gap I bought from them. I wanted Gap, told them I wanted it through my bank which I also financed the car through, but they sold me a different GAP through a different company. I only found that out when I called my bank. I went here to look at some used trucks and would like to advise against going here. I wanted to look at a ram and the sales agent proceeds to tell me the truck has been sitting there for 2-3 months. I step in it with my family and we turn on the truck with the ac on. As I go to put my seat belt on, I notice mold all over it which I touched! The sales agent tried to downplay the severity of the situation but immediately I started to get mold exposure symptoms such as a runny nose and mucus build up. I actually had to miss work and go to urgent care for a check up as I wasn't feeling good the next day. The fact that there's mold build up in a car exposing customers to it shows the lack of professionalism this dealership displays. Thursday, October 28, Initially made contact with Chris Terry. After speaking with him, I sent him the information on both of my vehicles so he could get back to me with some rough estimates on what they would potentially pay to purchase my vehicles. So 2 days pass by and Chris hadn't contacted me back. So I called the dealership and got in touch with his boss (used car buyer manager). Let him know that nobody has contacted me and that I was looking to work with someone else if possible. Finally Chris contacted me Saturday afternoon after his boss told him to. He then told me Tari would call me to schedule an appointment. 2 days go by and I don't hear from Tari, Chris, or anyone, so I reached out to the dealership again. November 1st, Made contact with a guy named Phil. I was able to bring my vehicles down a few hours later after talking to him finally. So I sold two of my vehicles to this car dealership. Phil did the transactions. One of them I owed money on, the other vehicle I owned free and clear. My main issues are their lack of communication, and that I feel like they took advantage/ got over on me. The way it's supposed to work is they payoff the 1st vehicle with whatever amount we agree they'll pay for the car. If money is still owed on the car, than I would owe the bank the difference. But these guys decided to take the amount we agreed to for the 2nd car I sold them, and added that to the remaining balance that was short on the vehicle with the loan. Thing is, these were two separate transactions, meaning the money from the 2nd vehicle I sold them should have been given to me on that same day from the dealership. But these guys haven't cut me a check for anything. They say they're waiting for the title from the bank before they cut me a check for what's left over. I Called and spoke to Phil about it on November 15 and this guy said he would call me back after speaking to the office manager, and guess what, this guy never called me back. Now it's been almost 40 days and still nothing from this place. Nothing in the mail, no returned calls, nothing. They have both of my vehicles, and I have a grand total of zero dollars from selling this dealership two vehicles, for cash I might add. The communication with this place is beyond horrible. Along with poor business practices. I give this place the lowest rating possible. Highly advise anyone in the market for car buying or selling to avoid this place at all costs. Well here's a good one for anyone thinking about having mechanical work done. I knew I had a spark plug issue. I had already replaced two because the dealer in Hawaii where this truck is from was too incompetent to fix it. After I replaced 2 coil packs and 2 spark plugs, the issue persisted. I was wanting to use my service plan I purchased with the vehicle to get it fixed so I told wayscarff I had a problem and gave them my truck to fix it. It wasn't covered by the service plan, but luckily they didn't charge for that. They charged $178.20 To plug in a diagnostic tool and reach into the hood to look at the spark plugs. Brought out 2013 Ford Explorer (74,055 miles) for them to look at our sunroof that leaked and would not open, back up camera didn't work, and the doors would lock with the car was running with the keys inside. Went it the sales office (this was Sunday, I called to see if it was OK to drop it off, as the appointment was for Monday morning, they said, no problem). The gentleman behind the counter gave me directions to where to park and drop the keys in the slot in the garage door. After two days of not hearing from them, I called and asked what they came up with. The guy on the phone had no idea what I was talking about and didn't know anything about our SUV. It had just been sitting in their lot and no had any idea it was there, or why it was there. They had it for 14 days (give or take a couple), left several messages with Kristin, never heard back from her. I'm sure she did call a couple times to be fair, my work schedule was a bit crazy during the time they had it. They provided me a bill for $628.82 for looking at the items we brought in for, and an oil change for $75.00 was also in the above total. They gave us an estimate for $5748.90 to fix the items, fair enough. We said we would think about it, and I went to pick it up in the back lot. It wouldn't start, battery was dead. Found sales manager Rob to help me get a jump (super nice guy). When I opened the passenger door, there was a gallon or so of rainwater (sunroof leaked) in the floorboard. Rob said sometimes the sunroof drainage systems get clogged with stuff and he pointed to where that location was and said they should have checked there and cleaned it out. We went through the bill and estimate, he politely said they would look at the bill and see what he could do. This was a Thursday, he said I would hear from him the next day, never called me. On Monday, I called them and left a message with the service folks for Rob to give me a call back, didn't hear back. Called again and asked to be transferred to his office, got voicemail, left a message, never heard back. Tried again, his voicemail was full and couldn't receive any messages. As of today, have still not heard from Rob. I grew up in Auburn, and was raised to do business the "old school way." I thought Way Scarff Ford practiced that philosophy as well. I didn't expect a handout, or for them to lower my bill (I'd already paid them), but I did expect call back. I will start by saying that I own one of the Ford Focus models that has the faulty clutch/transmission system that Ford refuses to replace. I am writing about how this dealership treated me, throughout my ownership. My salesperson, Robert Costales was very brief in working with me, but I already knew the car that I wanted. Once I got the deal I wanted I didn't see him again. When my car was delivered to me, I was rushed through the orientation of sorts, and given a bunch of details about the car that didn't exist. You have paddle shifters! Wrong, cruise control and voice control. You have a year of free Sirius (Robert Costales). Wrong, Sirius is disabled on this model. You have manual shifting! Wrong, that's the hill assist button on the stick there. He didn't care. Next thing I noticed is when it was parked in the sun, the car was covered with swirls in the paint. It looked like it had been lightly sanded. When I brought it up, "Oh, well it's a dealer trade." and left it at that as if I was supposed to understand and walk away. I pressed the issue and after they polished the car I was told to be grateful because I "basically got a free paint package". So, in the 5 years I've had the car, it's been in 5 times to have the clutch issue fixed. Here's the last of amazing responses. Initially I was told they couldn't find an issue, but eventually they acknowledged it. "When you hear the car start to flutter, just pull over and wait for it to cool down." What if I'm on the freeway? "You can find a shoulder." "This time the programming should be your final fix." - Got that one 3 times. Bought a used suv from this place out of state. They do some estimate for the tax but when we went to DMV to register the vehicle the "estimate" was off by $1400+. So basically we just have to pay that out of pocket now. My question is how can they be that off when I'm sure they have done this before? If anything shouldn't they just overestimate just in case?! Called them on a car they didn't have. (Click bait). Now they ( Guled Ibrahim ) emails me every day Telling me he can't help me if I don't return his emails. I have on every occasion answered his emails with the answer of not interested. This is the exact reason that people hate going to the dealership or giving out their number or email. The whole Let me check if the car is still here ploy is BS. These salesman are there every day and see what they have in stock and what they sell. They just want your contact info. Then they will try to move you into another vehicle after you call about the popular vehicle that isn't there but advertised. If this is how they do things before you buy, I would go to expect worse during the actual purchase. I'm sure they will reply to my one star post by saying "we just sold that vehicle" unfortunately no way to prove they didn't without their sales records. But just for your info sake. I called on the car 2 weekends ago when they told me it was sold and as of today the vehicle is still advertised. Hope this helps people figure out where they will overpay for their next vehicle. Do not trust the commercials about buying your car for top dollar and splitting the profit 50/50 when it finallly sells. They offered us 14K and then lowered the offer to under 12k after stating some things that needed to be fixed. They listed if for 16.5k. I figured we would get another 2k but they also deducted the same things they deducted from the sell price as they did from the offer price in addition to a brake job. We ended up with a measly $130.00 check for the 50/50 split "profit". It kills me to have to listen to their radio ads. I know better. Do yourself a favor and just invest in a good car detail and list your car or truck yourself. read more

Bought a 2008 Mustang GT Premium here in June 2008. Customer service is outstanding (5 stars), but financing (4 stars) and pricing (3 stars) weren't great. The sales guy did an awesome job of letting me test drive, explaining the car (though I did know about a few trick features it had that the salesman didn't know about), and keeping in touch with me to make sure the deal would go through, and then that I was happy with the car. I just got off the phone with Madison in service. Wow! So helpful and professional. I scheduled an oil change and some work under my warranty for my transmission. She even offered a loaner car without me inquiring. Now that's great customer service. Scheduled me for a convenient appointment slot. Now I have done work previously with Kent Ford. It was an unprofessional nightmare to say the least. In all aspects from scheduling to the poor work and communication. I'm hopefully for a better experience with Auburn. The appointment has been made. That initial phone call to make the arrangements is the first step and an important one. It went great! I hope the quality of work on my beautiful car will follow just as good. I will give an update following the repairs done on the car after my appointment. Update: 10/10/18 I picked up my car shortly after dropping it off. They only had it for a few days! Checking out process was quick and professional. I left my garage remote in the loaner car by accident and they called me back the same evening to let me know! My car is running beautifully!
