I just got off the phone with Madison in service. Wow! So helpful and professional. I scheduled an oil change and some work under my warranty for my transmission. She even offered a loaner car without me inquiring. Now that's great customer service. Scheduled me for a convenient appointment slot. Now I have done work previously with Kent Ford. It was an unprofessional nightmare to say the least. In all aspects from scheduling to the poor work and communication. I'm hopefully for a better experience with Auburn. The appointment has been made. That initial phone call to make the arrangements is the first step and an important one. It went great! I hope the quality of work on my beautiful car will follow just as good. I will give an update following the repairs done on the car after my appointment. Update: 10/10/18 I picked up my car shortly after dropping it off. They only had it for a few days! Checking out process was quick and professional. I left my garage remote in the loaner car by accident and they called me back the same evening to let me know! My car is running beautifully! Our family will continue all of our service needs with Auburn Ford from now on. And our next purchase will be with this dealership because of this amazing experience. I have mixed reviews about this place. The last time I went in there I had a screw in my tire and so I took it in and of course they said that it was in a place that could not be patched but much be replaced. They basically told me that I either needed to get 2 tires that are not matching my others or I would have to wait an unknown amount of time because they would have to "special order" them. They did not explain why I would have to have 2 tires instead of only replacing the one and I was there for over 3 hours for them to replace 2 tires when I had an appointment. Their staff don't explain things very well or go over pricing whether it's from a lack of understanding or just going off what the mechanic says I don't know. Otherwise the staff is friendly enough perhaps with more visits I may change my rating. read more

We scheduled "The Works" which was to include several checks in addition to the oil change. Several items on THEIR checkoff sheet were not marked as done. Manager says they "most likely" were done. Our salesman was Mike Lund and he was amazing! We knew what we wanted as we had been looking for quite some time. We spent too long at Bruce Titus Ford in Port Orchard and that was a terrible experience and they tried to get us to buy over MSRP. They are shady! Participated in their used car "split the profit" deal and I think their practices are deceptive. Had a blue book price on the vehicle of 35k and an offer in hand for the Volvo dealer where we were buying our new xc90 for 31,500. Sales process was easy. Brought the vehicle in early Feb, 2/1 or so, they looked it over for an hour or so, came out with a low number...27k I think. Whatever, its a used car dealer, they do what they do. Settled on 31k. Salesman said the car looked great, and I know there was nothing mechanically wrong with it. A fee of $895 was described to me as what it costs the dealer to get the car ready for sale. OK great, sign the papers, out the door, pretty painless. They list it for 36k, I figure they will get 34 or 35k, great. I'll get $1000 or $1500, worth my time. I called 4/19 to check on the status - they've sold it. Super! They told me they are sending me a check for 600 bucks. Wait how much did you sell it for? What are all the costs? Well let me tell you... know this is a 2-3 year old car, less thank 30k on the odometer, grocery getter kind of deal. Salesman said it looked "GREAT" when I brought it in. I don't expect there are many cars out there that need less then what our vehicle needed. $215 Detail $202 Safety & Oil Change $295 Clear Coat $200 Paint $75 Ding Repair $300 Commission to Salesperson $895 Fee So I was expecting the $895 to cover the detail and basic sale prep, documents, whatever. That's how it was framed by Chris the salesman. Turns out it doesn't, and if you read the fine print they do describe the $895 fee as separate from any necessary preparations, and that the average preparation is $800. Shame on me for not catching that. But are you telling me a $300 commission to the salesperson is preparation for sale? I don't think so. Are you telling me that this vehicle, which looked basically brand new, required an "above average" amount of work? How could any vehicle not need a detail before sale? They say they do safety and oil on all vehicles, clear coat on all vehicles. I would think most vehicles have a scratch and ding here and there. So really what is represented as the "average" amount of work is the bare minimum...and again the $300 commission is hidden in there. So there is no way a vehicle hits that $800 figure. Talked to the manager Phil. His angle is that all this is necessary work to sell the vehicle (OK, sure) and that it was my misunderstanding what the $895 fee covered. But that't not how it was described by the salesperson. And lumping in a hidden sales commission with "vehicle preparations" is straight up deceptive and dishonest. So, in the end, I'll get $100 more than the Volvo dealer offered me to trade in, and I got to make a trip to Auburn, and hang out for a couple hours, and I got to wait 2 and a half months. 1/5 stars would not participate again. The fact that this information was not presented up front brings it from a mediocre deal into the shady zone. Especially the $300 commission. This is shenanigans. I don't even care about a little bit of money but its the principle of the thing, for some people 500 or 1000 is groceries for a month and I don't want to see this happening to other people. I talked to the manager Phil and he would not answer me if he considered a $300 commission to be sales prep. He called me the next day, admitted that their paperwork should be worded better, and offered to refund me the $300 in full. When payment arrived, it only covered $150. I emailed Phil and he did not respond, but did send another check along for the remaining $150. Phil has refused to respond to emails and will only talk on the phone. If I was in his position I would probably do the same to avoid an incriminating paper trail. read more

There was a little bit of a miscommunication issue between the sales manager and maintenance. They called me that my part was in and ready to be put on my truck. I came in and was told that the last maintenance guy left for the day at 4:30. As I was leaving with my part, for me to put on. This is a SERVICE review, not a sales review. Just FYI. Needed to get 5,000 mile service on my 2013 Fusion Hybrid Ti. I normally would have gone to Sound Ford, but for some reason they've stopped taking online orders - and I HATE having to describe what I want done over the phone and give full address, etc. Since Scarff Ford took online orders I figured I would at least give them a try. That was a mistake. So I get there, their service area is pathetic. There's one garage door, they keep it closed, so you can't really tell it's the service area. There's a side door, but the signage and road markings are faded so it's not clear exactly where to go unless you've been there before. They force you to drive by the sales reps who are sitting outside bored due to no customers. So already, the perception is that they just don't care about servicing existing customers. Find my way in, you're basically walking into the service area. Call me crazy, but I'm sure that's against safety laws: a person could get injured, thus why most service companies do not allow you into the work area, and your check-in desk is separate from where the work is done. Not here. It's all one big happy (dangerous) garage. So there, I get the sense they don't really care about the safety of existing customers. I go up to the counter, give my name. He's struggling to find the work order. After finding it, it's not completed fully, even though the printout from my online order is stapled to the back (err?). I notice the written notes for the services requested does not match what I wanted - I'd asked specifically for the full $92 service that includes all filters, synthetic oil, lubrication, inspection, tires, etc. They've got the $40 Works on there. When I pointed this out to the guy, he's like "oh, you want synthetic, that's fine", and proceeds to scratch off the amount and just write "synthetic" above it. Then he asks for my address - again, this is already given to them from the online order. So there, I get the sense they don't really care about their online customers. Their customer "lounge" is approximately 13 chairs lined up in a room the size of my closet, pointed at a TV that isn't HD, next to the cashier. Not comfortable in the slightest, especially since the majority of people in there were large enough to spill over into the adjoining seats. So there, I get the sense they don't really care about the comfort of waiting customers. Car's finished an hour later, and as they're walking me to the cashier, I notice from the tech notes that they indeed did not do the full work I wanted. When I mentioned this to the guy, he shrugs and walks off. I didn't want to waste any more time there, so I just left, figuring I'd get the rest done at another time. Oh, but wait, there's more: the cashier runs my card as debit without asking me first, resulting in a hold that was not necessary. She then seemed surprised I wanted it run as credit - hello? You're supposed to ask DEBIT or CREDIT. So there, I get the sense they don't really care about the treatment of credit/debit accounts for their customers. In summary, this company's service department simply doesn't care. No way I'm coming back here for service OR sales. The only thing that was done right was that they reset the oil service indicator - something normally left to the customer. read more

Since WSFA did a good job on a repair, I thought I would give them a shot at a new set of tires. The last set I bought ran me over $1,200 at Les Schwab ("Yes, that's a SPECIAL size and IS somewhat pricier, Mr. L.) Being the clever fellow I am, I went to Costco and got a quote for a Bridgestone tire so I could take advantage of their price-match guarantee. When I got to WSFA, the service writer "Cory" sadly told me he couldn't get that tire (A-HA! The o'l Bait and Switch™!) Nope. All he did was get me a BETTER tire for the same price (I saw the specs). Not to mention $140 off in rebates for Ford Credit Card holder. End result, I got an oil change and new Goodyear tires for $680 out the door when all was said and done. Hello. I bought a car here earlier this month. Reading over the other reviews, I can say that it all sounds pretty standard to me. However, I do want to emphasize just how impressed I was with this dealership as compared to others during the buying process. Driving through Auburn, there are a lot of dealership options for new or used cars. However, one of the cars on the lot caught my eye, so I stopped and a salesman (Steve, who did a great job!) and I drove out to test it. All of my questions were answered as I asked them-- there was no up-selling, and the sales staff seemed just as plain-spoken and honest as anyone I've met. The difference is they're salesmen-- so the fact that they were honest, have continued to follow-up with me, and are so approachable has left me very satisfied. I just went in to look at a specific vehicle they listed on their web site. I checked it out and took it for a test drive. They brought out a carfax and made a point to tell me that it had no repairs listed. On our inspection, it had a less-than-stellar body repair job on the driver side door. With this in mind, I started negotiating at KBB "Fair" condition market value. First, while the sales guy took a bunch of personal information, he had the audacity to state, "I don't think you really want this car." Supposedly, because I preferred to stand instead of sit, I wasn't a serious buyer. This, after I went an hour out of my way on a five hour trip just to see this car! The guy was a complete jerk. We got past that insult and he took my offer to the higher ups. He came back and told me a bald faced lie that the wholesale value of the car was $14000, and he couldn't sell it for less than that. KBB says the wholesale value of this car is $9700, which is well under my offer! Even the "Excellent" condition wholesale value is $11500. A couple days later, a third Scarff employee called me. He asked "What happened?" I told him. Instead of apologizing for the terrible customer service, he latched on to the "value" of the car and essentially told me that I don't know what I am talking about. The sales people at Scarff are not interested in the reality of the situation, only their fantasy of overcharging for a four-year-old used car with a noticeable repair job. read more

I was very excited to sell my car after researching the profit sharing program that Way Scarf Ford offers. And we did receive the highest offer from their dealership. We agreed to sell and were told we would receive our portion of the payment with in 7 to 10 business days. After 10 business days I had to call them and ask about the payment. They said they hadn't received the title yet and payment would have to wait but they expected that to be ANOTHER 7 to 10 days. After the 2nd 10 days I again had to reach out to the dealership and was told they were still waiting for the title but when I touched they agreed to make an "exception" and give us our payment. When we agreed to sell the car we were told by Phil Lampkin Car acquisition Manager that they routinely sold their vehicles in under 45 days and they would be very surprised if it took longer than that. They went on to say after 60 days they are basically losing money so they would lower the price and really push the sale. He assured us the sale wouldn't be a problem. That was in late September early October. Fast forward now to mid March 5 months later and I have reached out to several different employees trying to get an update as our car no longer appears on their website as of 2 weeks ago so I'm presuming it was sold. Every time I contact someone they tell me it's a different person I need to contact. I was told to reach out to Faith the Title Manager. I did and gave her my information and was told she would get back to me. After a week without a return call or email I again reached out to Faith spoke with her again. Gave her my information again and was AGAIN told she would get back to me. Nothing. After a second week without hearing back from Faith the second time I contacted Tari via email as he was my original contact when selling the car. He at least responded to me, saying he would forward my email to Faith and the General Manager Mark Clymer. The next day I received an email from Tari letting me know that Faith had replied to HIM stating that she had passed my information on to Chris Taylor and that he would respond to me. Now days later I have not heard from Faith Tari Chris or General Manager Mark despite my pleas. So far we have been misled, stalled , ignored , passed around and left with no communication. This is beyond disappointing. Honestly I would have rather received less money if it meant open honest communication and even a shred of customer service . I'll update this if and when I ever hear back from them and if I receive payment as we agreed. read more

I took my my motorhome in for service to the commercial truck service of Scarff Ford Auburn solely for a recall on a cruise control part and an oil change. I was given a multi-point inspection on the vehicle as a "courtesy". End result..I was quoted over $3000 in repairs, with insanely inflated prices for ball joint replacements and driveshaft u joint replacements. I clearly needed a second opinion. $1550 for ball joint replacements on a '92 Ford van chassis???..... The drain plug was stripped during my oil change so I was charged for it, and no one bothered to inform me. The result....I took my motorhome to a reputable shop in Tacoma and provided them with the list of repairs I received from Scarff Ford Auburn. They checked everything on the list and found a bunch of fluff and ridiculous prices. I had this shop do all of the necessary repairs and was out the door for less than $700. To the owner...please save your pitiful response to my review in an effort to sway potential customers Into believing this was an anomaly. The overwhelmingly negative reviews do all the talking that is needed. The original owner would probably turn in his grave if he knew of your business practices. read more

After nearly a decade of having our cars serviced at Way Scarff we will no longer patronize its service department. Customer service has changed dramatically. First of all it takes weeks to get a confirmed appointment. Even if you have a scheduled appointment and drop your vehicle off first thing in the morning, it is routine that they either start the repair work late in the day (and therefore can't complete the work that day), don't have the right part, or simply can not get to it. The frustrating part of it is that they don't communicate any of this until right before they close for the day leaving the customer in a bind to either pickup the car on short notice or be forced to leave it with them overnight in hopes that they can complete the repair the next day (further delaying other customers who have scheduled appointments)! I have attempted to raise these concerns with its assistant service manager Corey Armstrong which falls on deaf ears with messages going unreturned. Corey Armstrong is a poor representative of Ford and Way Scarff. Apparently the service department is so jammed with work that they either don't care about basic customer service or are incapable. Stay away and take your care to a different dealership! read more

He is the reason for the 3 stars and if the review was only for him it would have been all five stars, but we negotiated to have our truck detailed and when they brought it out it looked like they washed the outside and vacuumed....but that's it. No consoles we're cleaned....the windows were filthy....the fabric wasn't touched. I was really disappointed. Brenno was even out there shinning the tires.....which probably shouldn't be his job. Took our 12 Escape in for a 'no start' after fuel pump recall repair. After a few days they called and said it was ready so we went to get it. They said there was no charge, it was just a loose clamp Bill Pierre Ford had left loose. Sounds nice doesn't it? Problem was it still did not start for 12 tries. We did not go back in, as they had had it for days already! We went to Gorman Auto, they put a new Ford fuel pump in, and no problems since. PS they would not let me leave a 0 star. read more

I was even more worried, because the last time I tried to deal at a Ford Dealership (down in California), I left disappointed and vowing never to buy a car again. When my car suddenly died it was time to replace it. I knew exactly what kind of car I wanted and found one my preapproval would cover at Scarff Ford in Auburn. So I went in. I expected to try to be sold on another car, or something else. But the experience was painless. Steve Romberg was our salesman and he was extremely low pressure, which is the opposite of most car sales folks. She let my whole family take the car out for a drive. When we came back he didn't try to sell us the car. He got our opinions and then left my wife and I to talk over it. Then we went in to talk numbers. When he found us a better loan, with lower interest and more protection, my wife and I needed to talk it over. He didn't hound us while we talked over our budget. Then we made the deal. I have three young kids. My goodness does that make car buying harder. But, Steve got games for them to play while we talked and that kept them busy for most of the time. So many places forget that families have to bring their kids to these deals, and kids don't find making a deal on a car very interesting. I was glad they had something for the kids to do. I got the car I wanted. And I got it for less than sticker with the warranty, gap insurance and taxes/fees. I couldn't complain. All in all the whole process took about 2.5 hours. I purchased a used car today, and it was a great experience! I know. Hard to believe, but true. The salesperson, Jesus Riviera was a pro, not at all pushy, yet showed a real enthusiasm for the car. We left a short time later with a great used truck. The business office staff is super, the owner of the dealership introduced himself, and they defied the stereotype of a car dealership. I traveled an hour to buy here, after rejecting a junker I looked at at a dealer in Renton. It was a drive well worth it. The only reason I leased my car from this dealership is due to a family friend working there but now that he is gone, I have no trust in the dealership. I worked with Tanya and Ken to make the purchasel and they went above and beyond what I expected to accommodate my requests. Tanya was engaged, but not aggressive, which I liked a lot. I bought my 2018 F150XLT it has 12000 miles Have had a clunk in rear end at start up and when shifting happening occasionally, but it does not due it all the time. Since I could not make it repeat they said not much they could do. What they did to answer the problem was reset the computer???????? I had door alignment problems on my new truck I done without the truck for five days total to align the doors on 2 occasions. I am still having problems. These folks did a good job of doing a recall repair on my Isuzu a few years back. They got me in and out in the time they'd promised (30-40 minutes while I waited). They also didn't try to upsell me on a bunch of additional services like oil changes, brake inspections, etc. Not a very comfortable waiting area and the dealership is kind of awkward to find or get to for the first time. At the time, there was a Isuzu service and a Isuzu heavy trucks service area, but this possibly has changed. I saw a car on Ford.com identified as being at this dealer. So I went to their website to search their inventory. It wasn't listed, so when a chat window popped up I asked if they could tell me if they had that car. I sent the VIN and a link to the car on the ford.com site. I got the answer that she didn't see it but would have the "sales team" get back to me. I then got a call (which I was unable to take due to work) and a text asking if they could contact me via text from a salesperson named Jesus. I replied yes, but didn't hear anything more. I then saw an email from Jesus saying he had put together this "brochure" just for me. Well, the car he sent was the model I'd asked about - but the wrong trim level, the wrong engine, the wrong interior, the wrong options package. In other words, it bore little resemblance to the car I'd contacted them about. He wanted to know when I could come in. At this point I was disgusted. I replied to the email to remove my name from their contact list. If this was the level of service I could expect I would not be doing business with them. Instead, I get an email saying that he didn't know what car I'd been asking about and would I tell him. Um, I'd given all the info in the chat and had been told it would be forwarded. This really bothered me. I decided to call to speak to the sales manager. After all, as a business owner myself I can't know how my customers are treated unless someone tells me. So I speak with Jeff. He explains their chat is run by a third party so they really don't know. So my thought that the chat was just a way to get contact info so I could be "sold" seems correct. He did finally tell me the status of the car I was asking about. I explain his dealership is 35 miles from my home, so I wasn't going to just stop by if they didn't have the car I was asking about. I reiterate my request to have my contact info removed from their list. At this point, I think I'm done (and so want to be done) with this dealership. Well, today I get an email AND a text from the salesperson (the one I asked to take my name off his list?) asking if I was still interested in the model car (again with no apparent clue what I'd been asking for.) I will be steering very clear of Way Scarff Ford. They certainly had very poor internal communication, and I was left with the distinct impression they were bent on trying to "sell" me a car rather than listening and caring about what I was looking for. Oh, they weren't even trying to "upsell" me - I was asking about probably the highest end trim & packages available. What they sent was a low to mid-level model. read more
