I paid $7,000 for a car from them, and it broke down five days later. When I took it in for a repair estimate, the cost came back at $7,700 -- more than the car itself! I brought the physical repair estimate into their shop, thinking they'd want to make things right. Instead, the owner argued with my father, deflecting all responsibility and blaming us for buying the car. He claimed they "require the cars to be analyzed for any damage before they're put out," which is either a complete lie or proof that they knowingly sell broken vehicles. If that's truly their inspection process, then they are either grossly incompetent or intentionally selling vehicles with major issues. That's fraud, plain and simple. They eventually offered to pay only $1,000 toward the repairs, but only if we went to his mechanic, and only if we agreed not to report them to the Attorney General -- which we did anyway, because this is beyond shady. That kind of "deal" felt more like a bribe to keep us quiet. Avoid this dealership at all costs. At one point someone from S&S Worst replied to one of my reviews saying: "we're so sorry for your experience!" That should tell you everything you need to know, but allow me to reiterate: Nothing was done about us having to pay over $10,000 to fix a car sold for nearly the same amount. No one cared. The engine damage was without a doubt hidden on purpose. Hint: if they take more than 5 minutes to get the car you want from an ad, it's because they are busy hiding known issues. You knew about the cracked cylinder head and hid it with JB weld. You knew the suspension airbags leaked and that's why it took so long to "GeT It ReAdY"...."JuSt GonNa GeT iT ReAdY!", while we sat waiting for half an hour. I'm sorry, did you think I would forget about all of this? How stupid I was. How utterly stupid could I have been, to put my trust in any Auburn based organization. Much less one that felt the need to put "Best" in their name. So many lessons were learned. Luckily, my situation has changed enough that I didn't end up needing to pursue damages, but I could have. Bought a 2004 Toyota Tacoma from S&S last March 2023. In terms of my required features, this truck met close to 90% of them. The real challenge for me was that I currently live in Tampa Bay and S&S is located in Auburn, WA State. After talking back and forth with their sales reps, since I know quite a bit about cars, I requested more detailed pictures of the truck; and subsequently, Zoom video test drives of the truck, which all checked out relatively positive. So, a few days later, the purchasing process went through as discussed over phone, with a few minor hiccups. And, couple weeks later, the title docs (via US Mail) and truck (via ground transport) arrived in Tampa Bay . Then, my real test drives and thorough physical evaluations of the truck were commensurate with what I had previously seen in many pictures and videos tests. The sound got worst by week 2 and i looked into it and found both sides had broken rear leaf springs. The one on the drivers side had 2 broken leafs and has almost fallen all the way apart. This is a big miss if they even did an inspection on the vehicle at all. This could have killed me and my family if i would have not caught it by next week. I was going to be pulling my camp trailer. If I could give zero stars, I would. Let's start there. Let's get all of the facts upfront: I came in with my own financing. No hassles at all. I know my budget. I know EXACTLY what I want have spent the past TWO weeks researching for the best deal, while usually wary of small car dealerships for this EXACT reason: to avoid getting scammed. Researched for 2 solid weeks, against multiple dealerships/private sellers/and online searches. I find what SEEMS to be the most reasonable deal: a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I take it for a test drive, pop the hood, check for all/any engine whines or hiccups. Vehicle passes the smell test, besides a couple of cosmetic issues. I bring TWO to the concerns to the FINAL sales representative (Miguel, the shady dude in the Financing Office). After negotiation, he makes it clear that he wants ME to feel as though GOOD BUSINESS was taking place (because I had to negotiate to reasonable Kelly Blue Book standards & I had financing READY TO GO) and he said "Don't worry about it; we'll make an appointment for those two concerns and we will make sure to help with ANY issues that may arise". I drive not TWENTY minutes down the highway and I get for alerts on the dash: Tire Pressure System failure; Service 4WD; Service Emergency Brake System. I FREAK out, and try to make it to the nearest mechanic. IN THIS TIME, in the attempt to pass vehicles, I realized that the Jeep DID NOT have the engine capability to 'Get up & go' in a OMFG situation, and I have to SLAM on my breaks in order to stay within my lane and have to change defensive-driving strategies in order to leave that situation SAFELY; pull over to an Autozone and get the codes read: Engine Coil No. 7 and spark plug are done, and the engine is Misfiring due to running too lean. I buy the cool & spark plug necessary; take it to a mechanic who FIXES it and with a COMPREHENSIVE CODE SCANNER (thank goodness for the Snapon Van), were able to see that the MOST RECENT SERVICE WAS JUST DELETING CODES... Long story short: this POS dealership allowed me to leave the lot with a mechanical liability without ANY warning, and then when given the MULTIPLE opportunities to hold themselves accountable, told me to just "calm down". And here is the rub: I was PERSONALLY GUARANTEED, and even CONTRACTUALLY PROMISED, that two cosmetic fixes WOULD be repaired, then presented with potentially fatal MECHANICAL errors, the ENTIRE BUSINESS decided to give me the run around. I call THE DAY OF, when I immediately see issues, they tell me "no worries, we will can get you taken care of when you come in for the shocks on the back gate. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY DID!? Literally stood me up. Nigel, POS, PERSONALLY PROMISED HE'D BE HERE and he didn't even bother to attempt to follow through. Instead I got the run around from three people today, simply trying to tell me NOT to over react. Read that paragraph again: they DID NOT follow through on either their WORD or CONTRACTUAL obligation. No fixes whatsoever. Not only am I out $8,800 for a POS Jeep with a missing SKIM key, Emergency Brake System, AND out $250 for a RELIABLE mechanic to actually tell me what KIND OF SHODDY BUSINESS S & S auto sales ACTUALLY gets their 'mechanic' to do. Currently in legal counsel because S&S was legally and contractually obligated to FIX those two items prior to taking any FINANCIAL check, and due to such SHODDY practices, and currently STILL do not have those items fixed. worst car lot ever!!!! sold a lemon for 12,000 dollars out of pocket. 4 days later the truck lost fuel lines and needed the injectors replaced quoted 6,000 dollars to fix. when I called the owner eluded my calls for weeks only to inform me he would not repair the injectors because it would be a engine rebuild and he would have sold for more money if that were done. Don't be stupid. I was stupid. Read the yelp reviews before you buy something as expensive as a motor vehicle. S&S staff was nice enough. Angie welcomed me and (since I had cash) negotiated the price down to what I wanted to pay for the car I was looking for. I bought the car and drove home. Then the next day happened. Car wouldn't start. I jumped it. The car informed me that there was a steering malfunction and a charging malfunction. The windows wouldn't roll down. The front headlight was turning on and off. The moonroof wouldn't close. The remote entry failed. Brake alert lights came on. The wiper blades came on and would not stop. Power steering was a no show. I texted Angie, who'd sold me the vehicle. She gave me the old "It didn't leave the lot like that" speech. Of COURSE it left the lot like that. She told me I'd already gotten a "good deal." There is no such thing as a good deal on a vehicle that doesn't work. She suggested I call their mechanic. The mechanic who already "Examined all vehicles" before they left the lot? For what, another one day jerry rig? No. I wanted to return the vehicle. Then she stopped responding and told me to talk to her manager. But that there would be no refunds at all. I looked up the implied merchantability rule in Washington State. Beware: it is waived when you sign the "As-Is" disclaimer at a dealership. Never sign one. Lemon laws, of course, only apply to lemons, which are brand new cars that don't work. This has nothing to do with used vehicles. I took the car to a five star rated shop I found on Yelp.They fixed all of the issues with the car in three business days. They put disgusting black tree air freshener and completely made me sick for almost a week! Who puts air fresheners in someones else's car unless they are covering something up! That shit was wrong. Nothing like catching a used car dealer in three lies before I even see a car! On their website they had three used cars that (on paper) were close to what I was looking for. i usually wouldn't look at a place like this, but it was on the way to a dealership I was visiting. I called ahead to confirm the three cars were there. I gave the woman who answered the three stock numbers and she said all were still available. I didn't get there until about fifteen minutes before they were closing, knowing I wouldn't do much more than take a look at the three cars. The woman I'd talked to was there--very friendly and open. I asked about the three and she apologized, saying that one had sold that afternoon. OK, no big deal, still two left. We went to the lot and I looked at the cars. That's when she told me the third car had sold the day before. Sure. So, was the car sold before I called? After I called? Or months ago? After much insistence on our part, they promised to fix the windshield, make a copy of the key, send copies of paperwork to our insurance company as well as a few other promises. -After three weeks of them giving us the run around to schedule the windshield replacement, it was finally completed. However, throughout which we had several appointments, would show up to their lot and either they'd tell us then that the guy wasn't going to show, or they'd make us wait forever just to have the guy not show up again. And they must have the world's worst filing system as they could not find their copies of the contracts or any paperwork no matter what information we gave them. -Salesmen/woman and finance manager were all very cold and rude the moment the deal was over. Thankfully we were able to get out of our purchase. We purchased a car and were told that the clutch was just serviced. Once we got the car home it quickly became apparent that the clutch was slipping and the check engine light came home the next morning. We were already planning on bringing the car back to get the headlight and sunroof repaired. When we stopped by Nick, the sales person who sold us our car, made alof of verbal promises. He said that he would take it to a mechanic/dealer just down the street to get the clutch/headlight/sunroof and check engine light all fixed. I know we made an agreement and all to purchase the car, but we were starting to have extreme buyers remorse. The first red flag was that Nick said that a clutch job was pretty simply and would only cost $400-500 and that the sunroof may just be a programming things. Both statements may be true, but i really started to suspect Nicks statements. I know that a clutch involves a lot more labor than $500. When we went to pick up the "repaired" car we asked to see the service records from when it had been serviced prior to our purchase. We never did see that paperwork. We also asked to see the mechanics invoice from the clutch/headlight/sunroom/engine light. the invoice itself looked highly suspect, no pricing, invoice #1, S&S was not listed as the customer, and the phone number was not answered by the company listed. Clearly these cars are not screened/services prior to being offered for sale. You can read similar reviews were customers have been told similar statements about major mechanical components. Make sure you get all agreements for repairs in writing and ask to see all service invoices for repairs prior to purchase. read more

STAY AWAY. Went in to look at a '09 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab. I already was a bit uneasy but this place was approved by my credit union, so I looked anyway. The truck itself didn't *seem* to be in terrible condition. Then I started looking. Issues: 3 tires were nearly bald and showed dry rot and cracking. The rear brake pads were not even remotely legal thickness. The truck smelled, but not just like years of use. It smelled like trying to hide something worse. Under the rear passenger seat was a PUDDLE of water and mold growing on the carpet. Of course there were various exterior and interior wear and tear. Ripped seats (poorly "repaired" with what was probably a dollar store sewing kit), scratches and dents. It had two dash warnings- Oil Change due and Low Tire Pressure. But then we went to the office... I'll give the short version. I looked up the VIN and found the truck was sold at an auction from California. The salesman did confirm they do get their vehicles from actions. They were asking just $15798. A bit high for the year and miles but still within the dealer range for KBB. Knowing that auction cars are sold for pennies on the dollar and a somewhat iffy Carfax, we tried to talk them down a bit. Knowing the brakes and tires needed to be replaced and the interior cleaned of mold and moisture. This whole time the sales guy (who in NO way was part of my rating) kept saying the boss wouldn't go for the deal we wanted. Tired of listening to him talk for the boss I left my husband to go hang out in my car with my children, also because I could pull up a lot more info on my computer than I could on my phone. I dug around a bit, my husband had them down to a number that would have been okay... until I found the code details that said the truck was listed at action with engine damage and was to be sold to a dealer only. I walked in the office, showed my husband and said no deal. The sales guy asked to see and I asked him if he understood code and he said the boss did. I showed the sales guy the line that had the info and he was like "oh." I walked out and got back in the car. The finance guy wanted to know how I found out. Then the boss came out and asked my husband "How did she find that out?" My husband said she knows computers not me. The boss then demanded to my husband that I come in and show coding information. My husband at this point was fed up and said "No deal. I'm leaving." To which the boss with his heavy Russian accent said, "I don't think so." Yeh.... no that isn't how it works. We left and got Taco Bell down the street which was amazing, even for Taco Bell. Honestly, if I could give no stars, I would. I went there to look at a car and was pressured to "check to see if I'd qualify" to then, after two hours of this ongoing waiting game have them spit back at me with "well this is already going to ding your credit so you may as well go with this one, it's a good deal!" We had our two year old son with us, who was an hour past nap time (once again reminding you we went to simply look at and drive the car to see if we like it-maybe a half hour trip) but we ended up spending just under four hours at this place. The salesman was pleasant at first but because I wanted to look at other cars still, he insisted on us going with the one they had, and once he felt his sale "slipping", he sent us to his financial guy, who was a complete a**hole. After driving the car and chatting with the salesman, I was truly ready to buy the car, had he let me drop my son off for a nap and come back-but that's just it, they weren't letting us leave without arguing with us to stay. The financial guy even had the audacity to ask to see another car I was planning on checking out, bash on it, and then ask me "oh so you dont like my car?". After leaving though, I was not coming back and not answering any calls-better yet, blocked their calls. Stay away from this deal I bought a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee srt8 within 2 days started having problems with the car and they refused to pay for repairs I bought it for $20k and have $8000 in repairs so now I have to hire an attorney to sue them because the attorney general says a dealer can not sell a vehicle if it has major defects so I'll be out more money for attorney fees for a hack dealer that shouldn't be in business. read more

S&S Auto sales actually stands for "Shady & Sneaky Auto Sales". There's really no point of trashing them online since there's enough on here to prove my point but props to their sales rep Ahmed for not breaking that stereotypical sketchy sales rep persona and only wanted to make the sale and not follow through when the van leaks 24 hours after leaving the lot. Oh, then they took it back "fixed it" without any kinda proper documentation or evaluation for me as to what was the leak about. A month later, it gets snowed it and it leaks again. Apparently, when I was trying to go back to them and tell them the issue, Ahmed is out of the country and so as the managers. I finally get a hold of someone and when I did, the "mechanic who fixed it last time" is also on vacation. I had another reputable mechanic to look at it and guess what??!! Transmission needs to be fixed for $1400. "Their mechanic" said they'll be able to fix it for cheaper and want it back since "s&s auto had paid him already" he is now liable for the work not done on it. So I reach back out to Ahmed and told him what he missed while being out of the country and he goes "oh, well it's been a couple of months, you've driven that for a while now". No, it's been stuck in my driveway peeing transmission fluid. Your word and that note on my bill of sales says you're gonna make sure there are no transmission issues, guess what?? There is. So be an adult and back your word verbally and in writing. I should've have known that this was shady bc he wrote there that sold me the van on the last day of the month when I looked at it but I didn't buy it until a couple of days later. Trying to save that sale as that month's sales huh? Look it up, van sale dated nov 1st, paid in hard cash! Also, keep in mind these words, warranty of merchantability.
