Tried out the Wayback burger that opened a few months ago. I found it in the middle of the buildings. When you walk in their are tables to the right and a wall, then tables lines up to the left by the windows. I got in line with only two people in front of me at the registers. Well, the registers must have been malfunctioning as it took so long. I think the worker who took my order was just hired that day. She was slow but I was patient. Ordered the Sweet Bourbon burger with swiss cheese. Sounded good. I waited for a while getting rung up, then paid. Took a seat near the window to wait for my order. By now there is a long line but it was moving slow. Ten minutes later a cook from the back brought me my food. Took the bag and headed home. The burger was still warm upon arrival at home. It was okay. The burger was over $10. and it wasn't huge. Well, I tried them but don't think I'll be going back

    Grilled buffalo chicken sandwich

Was craving a chicken sandwich on Saturday night but didn't want to go to any busy restaurants. Upon doing a quick google search, this place popped up and we ended up coming here as they were about to close in 30 minutes. I knew about this place from their grand opening but had forgot about it since it's not so close to my home. We ended up coming here. There was no one in the restaurant and 3 employees working. We quickly ordered a hamburger and my grilled chicken sandwich With fries and a shake. Honestly most of the food was fine except my grilled chicken sandwich. Grilled chicken was still frozen in some bites. I didn't want to complain at that point as it was late and they were almost closing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall restaurant was clean and food was fine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will give it a the try another time if the day for better chicken

    These prices are ridiculous....

I ordered a takeout dinner for one. Burger was fairly good - bacon was sparse. Onion rings were lukewarm and soggy. Milkshake - about 20% whipped cream, otherwise tasty. Service - friendly Price - Quality and amount of food was not worth the price charged. Cost alone will keep me from going back.

Everything was freshly made to order and arrived hot. The Cajun Remoulade on the big easy gave the burger a good amount of flavor. The bacon is crispy and thin with no fat. The fries were nothing unique but they were hot. A decent amount of seating inside and within a new shopping center. Overall, the menu had a couple of signature items but the key thing is you can create your own to order. They also have hotdogs, chicken, and even vegan options. Overall, will be a frequent visitor and left satisfied!

Sweet Bourbon Bacon Burger and Onion Rings

Wayback Burgers just opened in Cedar Park on W Whitestone Blvd (FM 1431) directly across the street from Bush's Chicken. It's in a brand new shopping complex next to E MD. The restaurant is nice sized and the tables are NOT crowded together. The dining area, serving area, kitchen (glass enclosed), and restrooms are very clean and uncluttered. Unlike many new restaurants, it has a proper ceiling and other things to keep noise down. The background music was at the proper level. Too many restaurants are designed where there is sensory overload and customers cannot carry on a conversation. Took my mom to Wayback for lunch. Large easy to read menu posted on the wall. Lots of choices along with images of the burgers. We were waited on by Melissa. Nice young lady from Cuba who was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Sweet Bourbon Bacon Burger with Pepper-jack cheese and onion rings and a drink ($16.48). My mom ordered the Wayback Classic with fries and a drink ($13.78). Melissa brought the trays to the table fairly quickly. Nice presentation. The burgers appear a bit small. The buns are smaller than those at many restaurants. This is actually a plus as it's less fluff and carbs. But each burger has 2 patties. I watched the staff freshly cook each patty for the burgers. Good texture to the buns. Love the ooey gooey way the cheese was melted. Flavor of both burgers were good. Large amount of fries and onion rings. Onion rings has a nice crunch and sweet onion flavor. Overall impression is good. Wayback is on 'My Keepers List'.

I placed an online order, and when we got it home, my husband's burger was missing the tomato and lettuce that was on the order. The may seem like not a big deal, but since he doesn't like cheese, and he doesn't like sauce, except mustard, so the lettuce and tomato are basically what keeps this from being a plain burger on a bun. Since I don't live close, it's not like I can just run back up there. My husband said it was fine, but Mooyah is not a cheap burger. Ok, so whatever. But then I got an unsolicited texy survey from them asking for my feedback so I gave it. Shortly I received the attached text saying sorry and have a nice day. I really hadn't expected a response, but I would rather have had none than that weak reply. Like maybe offer a free fry in the app for my next visit, or $3 off the next order...that at least is a gesture that would bring me back to spend $30 again. Disappointing.

Lazy G BBQ Company in Cedar Park is exactly what it sounds like: lazy. For a BBQ joint in Texas,…read morewhere the standard is high, this place is embarrassingly bad. Rudy's BBQ should be the baseline, yet Lazy G doesn't even reach that. I ordered the ribs and brisket, hoping for something decent, but both were far below average. The brisket was especially disappointing--you could see the congealed fat right in the slices (see pictures). Serving meat at the right temperature is BBQ 101, and their failure here made the texture and flavor a cold, greasy mess. The sides weren't any better. The cucumber salad was bland, with just a dusting of dill and no seasoning whatsoever. Adding salt and vinegar should be a no-brainer, but apparently, even the basics were too much effort here. I was excited to try the smoked mushroom side (as a mushroom lover), but it was downright unpleasant. There was zero smokiness, and the sauce tasted like a watered-down BBQ sauce, giving the button mushrooms a soggy, unappetizing texture. The BBQ sauce was another letdown--it tasted like bottled Sweet Baby Ray's. For a BBQ place, using (or at least mimicking) store-bought sauce is the ultimate red flag that they just don't care. Even at $22 for a two-meat plate, the quality doesn't justify the price. In short, Lazy G BBQ Company doesn't just fall short--it doesn't even try. If their goal was to live up to their name, they succeeded; this food is lazy, uninspired, and, frankly, not worth your time or money.

My husband never eats mac and cheese and I'll be darned if he didn't finish my Trashy Mac and Cheese for me that evening! Finally! Some mac and cheese that is actually delicious and creamy. The toppings of brisket, bbq sauce, french onions and jalapenos all stirred together makes each bite a little slice of heaven. WOW! The next morning he said, "I kept telling myself I need to leave a little bit more for Lee Lee but I kept opening it back up and eating more until it was all gone!" Good thing I had my bites right when we arrived at our hotel because I was so hungry. My husband ordered sliced brisket and we lucked out and got a few of the brisket burnt ends. They weren't all "candified" like a lot of the other bbq places serve; but they were smoky and delicious. I also enjoyed the potato salad. We were excited to order the smoked mushrooms but honestly, they could have used a bit more flavor for me. You could just tap the salt shaker and it would have been fine. I appreciated the creative side dish and love how the bbq scene has doubled down on the side hustle! It was cold out so we sat on the enclosed patio that had heaters and were very comfortable. We order a couple of beers and waited for our food. The service was friendly. This was a nice dining experience.

As I was leaving the We Are Blood donor center on Bell Boulevard, I thought "why not check out a brewery I don't visit very often for lunch?" (kids, I am a professional. Don't try this at home--a brewery visit right after dropping a pint is probably not a donor center recommendation for most normal folks). A search on "breweries near me" revealed that this spot was 1 mile away. Winner. Plenty of parking front and side, the taproom was pleasant inside and out. I took a seat at a nearly full bar next to a good group of World Cup (ESP/AUT) watchers. Two big TVs over the bar, in a large taproom/dining area with 5 more, shared with the sort of "built-in food truck" called "600 Degrees Pizza" except it's a proper pizza shop, no wheels. There's a shaded outdoor patio with a bar window, and 5 more TVs, and a covered tent area beyond that, with a play area for the kiddos. Had a Ray Ray Hazy IPA, crisp and cold and delicious NE-style IPA. I walked over to the pizza counter and ordered a slice, considered the slice/salad lunch special but opted for the HH slice special, pepperoni at $5. Minutes later a guy delivered the single largest pizza slice I have ever tried to hold in my hand to my seat at the bar. Apparently they do a 6-cut TWENTY FOUR INCH PIE for slices, so my slice was 75.4 square inches of tasty gooey goodness. Unwieldy, and took some tactical consumption logistics calculation, but I finished every bit--a meal for me, and I was glad I skipped the salad. Very good pie, and VERY filling. One more small beer, from Jester King, as I watched Spain knock Austria out 3-0. Friendly folks on both sides of the bar, good beer, and good food in a nice taproom. I'll be back.

With this brewery I got a beer type I don't always get and when I do it's a nice change of pace and that is a Brown Ale. I took the opportunity to get one here and the name of this brewery's version is a fun one... it's called Velvet Nunchuks. The flavor profile in this one is good... in it you can have fun with detecting caramel, roastiness and maltiness. The beer is smooth and has nice mouthful due to that. Whitestone was a good stop even if it is a bit of a ways from downtown Austin.
