Once you order they find you a table and your order is brought to you. It was busy but not too busy where we couldn't hear eachother. Plenty of indoor/ outdoor seating. Great food! Friendly staff! I walked inside and a sweet young girl helped me at the register. I told her it was my first time visiting and she was patient and kind in answering my questions. She never rushed me or seemed bothered at all. In fact, when I asked for a side of ranch (ITS AMAZING BTW - it's not regular ranch - it's great ranch) - she said, I'm not charging you .75 for one / that's silly. (Probably because I had taken other things off my burger) Anyway, I ordered a cheeseburger and Parmesan truffle fries. I had no idea the fries came in a giant bowl enough for a family. Ha! Delicious! My friends enjoyed their sweet potato fries and Buffalo Bill bison burger (spilt between them because it was so big!). They said it was juicy, and it looked messy. We tried to give them another chance after the mediocre food (and WAY overpriced bill that we had at our first visit). We were ordering ahead on the app and walked in to find a table and sat down. The restaurant (which is counter service) was nearly empty. As I was about to submit the order, a waitress came over and with a rude attitude said that we were not allowed to sit ourselves (even though you order at the counter and there is not a hostess). We asked if it was ok if we ordered on the app and again, with an attitude she said, "No. You need to take it to go. You cant just walk in here and sit yourself." Again- the restaurant was nearly empty at this point. We canceled the order, left, and got much better burgers at Saltgrass. Based on our previous visit: Fries are soggy and cold Grilled cheese is an inside out burger bun instead of actual bread slices. A couple next to us ordered this and were very upset. My daughter also got it and and we ended up having to order a second meal for her (she is a light eater too) so that she would have enough to eat. Burgers are ok but small and crazy overpriced. Place was recommended to me. So had to give it a try since I was on vacation. Service was inconsistent, and had mix feelings regarding who we interacted with. In terms of food, we ordered 2 different things, the El Diablo Burger and Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. We love spicy so had to give them a try. Regarding El Diablo, I personally didn't think it was spicy at all. But burger was cooked perfectly as I ordered it medium rare. It was juicy, well seasoned, plenty of aioli and just goes well with everything on it. Very delicious burger! Regarding Nashville Sandwich, it was little too greasy or had little too much oil added so it could be dusted, this did have a little kick and tasted pretty good. Hopdoddy is a classic in austin so its never a bad option and we were really wanting burgers. I got my usual - el diablo and parm truffle fries, along side a Margarita of course. Kalif shook things up a bit this visit and got the double bacon jam and the new tenders to try out. He washed his down with a titos and soda. Overall great visit, the only complaint would be that the burgers were very ~wet~ like almost soggy making everything a weird texture experience. It was hot and fresh and it wasn't overly saucy so we couldn't pinpoint the exact culprit. We are optimistic that this was a one off and look forward to our next visit. read more

The line was short when we walked in but quickly grew as only one register was running. The shake machine was broke which was a bummer, but things happen. We had an array of items which we all enjoyed. I ordered the goodnight cause as a bowl. The patty and toppings were great however I'm not sure how I felt about the greens, or the sauce on the greens that came with it. The patty also seemed kind of dry today. The bandito was on point the sauces on this gave the patty some moisture and we would 10/10 recommend and order this again. The sweet potato hot honey fries were good but weren't hot IMO. Regular sweet potato were also tasty I liked dipping it in the truffle aioli. Truffle fries were also delish! Let's talk about this shot size margarita. lol it's called the "little John" and was 5.25 or 5.75 something like that and it was literally in a tasting glass you would get for a draft beer spot. I was shocked to see that come to my table to say the least. However it was good but wouldn't order again. They originally brought us regular fries which didn't belong at the table, apparently they mixed up order number somehow but not a big deal. Establishment is on the louder level. I came here after a soothing day at work with 104 fourth graders, and I needed a nice square meal before proctoring the big state test tomorrow. I haven't had a burger from here in four months, and while it was a disappointment to find out that turkey patties are yet again snatched off the menu, I had a satisfying, chicken burger with cheddar cheese and Queso fries that didn't stand a chance. I took my family to Hopdoddy for dinner tonight, and unfortunately, it was underwhelming from start to finish. For a place that markets itself as a premium burger spot, the food did not live up to the price tag. The burgers were average at best, nothing that stood out or justified the cost. The buffalo chicken tenders were overbreaded and partially coated with Franks Red-Hot. Fries were greasy and tasted funny. Even the mini shakes tasted like something you'd expect from a fast-food chain, not a $100 tab for a family dinner. The dining area was dirty and poorly maintained. Tables sat un-bussed, with leftover food and trash scattered around. The floor had waste and debris that hadn't been touched in some time, which made the whole environment feel unwelcoming and unsanitary. Staff were inattentive and disengaged. and made little effort to check on us or address the unclean dining room. For a sit-down burger restaurant charging premium prices, the level of service was far below expectations. We spent right at $100 for 3 burgers, buffalo chicken tenders, two fries, and two mini shakes. For that price, you'd expect high-quality food, a clean environment, and attentive service. Instead, it felt like a second-rate fast-food experience with a gourmet price tag. Hopdoddy has a reputation for craft burgers, but tonight's experience was far from it. Overpriced, poorly executed food, a dirty dining area, and inattentive staff made this a disappointing family night out. I cannot remember a more perfect delivery order experience. Wow. Every single element of our order was perfectly executed. Each burger, and tuna burger were the perfect temp and done-ness, and the fries and sweet potato fries were fresh. I noted that I love spicy so they sent a little container of extra spicy peppers for me. I ordered my burger as a salad and they packed the hot burger part separate from the cold salad part. I was excited to try Hopdoddy again and since the Austin area doesn't have the pleasure of having a Burger Joint, this would have been the next option to offer the Impossible burger patty for vegans/vegetarians. However, upon visiting this location on Thursday, I was deeply disappointed to find out that they changed the menu and removed the Impossible patty from the menu and instead replaced it with a black bean and corn patty which lacked flavor. Then, on top of that, the bun that was offered had literal nuts and seeds embedded into it. The cashier explained that they were going for a more healthier and sustainable choice while still offering meat eaters their beef burgers. Just awful! The black bean and corn patty was flavorless and the seed bun had a strange taste to it. Also, it gave me gastrointestinal pain as my body tried to process it. They should have just kept the Impossible patty, but no they had to change the menu and I bet they did not even survey whether guests would like the change. However, how would it still be sustainable if you offered beef burgers? That is just ignorant to me because cows take up more land and you have to give them more feed then their waste isn't eco-friendly, moreover, the amount of water used to maintain the grass since they say the cows are grass-fed. The first time I had Hopdoddy was at the Burnet location and at the time, they had the Impossible patty and it was delicious. I will say that my only favorite thing is the fries option - staff seem to put more effort into those. I guess I'll need to find another burger restaurant when I'm in Central Texas.
