First time here fueling up, had driven by this place a number of times and today we finally pulled the trigger to go. Inside was nice designed, modern, clean with a reasonable amount of seating. Staff were friendly. The food was excellent, I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich and the piece of chicken was huge! It was flavorful and not overbearing. Had to grab a burger and literally run out the door, and Wayback burgers did an amazing job of helping me do that! I got their classic with extra pickles and pepper jack cheese. Also, I had their tater tots on the side. Wow! Everything was very good! The burger I got was pretty basic compared to their other specialty burgers, but I like to be able to really taste the meat when I am endulging in a burger, so this fit me! I got some tota on the side. They were still hot even minutes later and tasted so yummy with their wayback sauce. The sauce was tangy and a little sweet. The portions are large and the food quality is up to par. I ordered a classic burger with O'fries which are potato skin fries topped with delicious onion rings. I added the Wayback Gold Sauce to my order. The gold sauce is best enjoyed for dipping fries and adding to your burger. The burger was humongous. Wayback rocks. Just when you think their burgers are phenomenal, wait until you try one of their milkshakes. Over the weekend, the family and I craved a burger nearby and Wayback always enters our mind first. This visit included the Big Way (the fancy Big Mac version) and an Oreo Milkshake made with hand-dipped ice cream. Listen, all of their burgers kick ass and this Big Way is the same but my fave is still the Cheesy! The milkshake? It was completely gone within 5 minutes. It's THAT good and could be very addictive. I've had more economical and savory enjoyment from Wendy's and other competitors. The only "good" items on the menu are the milkshakes, and even those sometimes are not up to par. If you like 5-Guys, you'll probably like Jake's. That's not suggesting it's exactly the same other than you get a tasty burger with a wide selection of toppings that doesn't taste like it was made at a FF joint like McD or BK or any of those others. Yes, you pay a little more than the FF joints, but come on, this is a hybrid of sorts between FF & short order with better food and friendlier staff who will bring your food to you instead of having you wait for it at the end of a counter. It's slightly more service oriented than FF places. Burger of the month is a Frankenburger (Halloween theme?) and now that I know what it is, I expect I'll make one for my tween the next time she's fixin' to have a burger, or I'll just make an executive decision to bring her & my bride here.
