    two hands holding a sandwich

We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine: Parking: 5 Location: 5 Decor/ambiance: 5 Customer Service: 5 Let's admit it, there's something about a Cheesesteak that will make you forget any dietary restrictions, any weight loss goals ... shoot nothing else matters when a Cheesesteak hits the table. Well that's exactly what happened when we visited Mr. Cheesesteaks in Durham on yesterday. Mr. Cheesesteak is a food truck that now has a brick and mortar as of June 2020! If you're looking for a delicious lunch on today or if you want to take something home to munch on for dinner later tonight, we recommend Mr. Cheesesteak. Their prices are amazing as their cheesesteaks are under $10 and they are GINORMOUS! The sandwiches are packed with meat and cheese and the bread is so fresh. Pictured here is the beef cheesesteak and the chicken Philly cheesesteak. Both sandwiches are jam packed with fresh clean meats, yummy cheese and veggies! And let's not forget their lemon pepper wings! To wash all that down we grabbed one of their sour slushy's which gave us a brain freeze that was well worth it! Ask for Yoshi or Dale when you visit and tell them Roger K sent ya!

The food truck goes brick and mortar! It is rare to see a cheesesteak place in Raleigh so we are very excited to have this one now!! I ordered the original beef cheesesteak (cheese and meat only!!) And my bf had TWO chicken cheesesteaks. Yup. They are that good. I'm definitely trying a chicken one next time, I had a bite of both of his and they were so good. Unique flavor, piping hot and soft bread. No one is using handcut steak around here except Mr. Cheesesteak. And the fries are amazing. I love skinny cut fries. Definitely give them a try!

In the mood for onion rings with our at home steak and this place is it! Best hospitality and friendly, professional, customer service. Fast order and great price for a large order to share! Definitely looking forward to having other meals here too! Thank you, recommend!

The Garlic Parm Fries! They are so good! I was seriously impressed by this little cheesesteak shop in a strip office park. I had a basic cheesesteak with extra cheese and no other toppings, the meat was moist and the cheese as gooey and plentiful. I also enjoyed a very sweet but delicious lemonade and the best part, the garlic parm! I love a crispy fry, so to me these were perfect, all fries were consistently crispy and Parmesany. Will definitely be back soon!

I had a good experience ordering online via Uber eats with Mr. Cheesesteak. It comes with a ton of food... me and my four year old shared the meal that is pictured. I enjoyed the cheesesteak and fries. I wouldn't say it was the best that I've ever had but it was good and flavorful.

I ordered mine on pressed focaccia bread and everything from the juicy crispy chicken to the parmesan cheese and toppings was top notch. Each of the flavors and textures played so well together that it's hard to stop eating after taking the first bite. Came on a Monday around 1pm and there was no line. Inside the shop was a classic deli where you order at the counter and then browse the various goods/merch while you wait. Service was fast and the sandwiches came out within 5 minutes of ordering. There are a couple picnic tables outside to sit and eat but other than that, mostly a to-go place. First timers: get the Uncle Primo's, you won't regret it!

I got half an uncle primos chicken cutlet sandwich ($11). It was a lot of food and was loaded with chicken! Even just the half sandwich was too much for me to eat at once. But if the line were shorter in the future I'd come back and try other yummies from the menu.

This was my first time but my friend's hundredth (her words!) There was plenty of parking. We were greeted upon entry and informed that we could choose where we sat and just to scan the table QR code when we were ready to order. We chose a high top and a server brought us water. The vibrant colors and decor gave off excellent vibes. I ordered the Karaage Bowl (on greens instead of rice AND all the sauces on the side) and a side order of seaweed salad. A server brought them to our table. It was not necessary for us to get up once we were seated. Everything was SO GOOD. Like, "I'm mad at myself for not coming here before" good. All of the sauces were amazing too. I ordered them on the side since I wasn't sure how I would like them all, but I think I'll leave them on next time. The "greens" were a mix of lettuce and cabbage. The side of seaweed salad for $2.50 seemed a little small when they brought it out but it was packed in there and was plenty. The server came around a couple of times to check on us and top off our water. We bussed our own trash. There was only one unisex bathroom that I saw. There seemed like a lot of takeout orders going out (it was a little separate from the dining area which was nice). There was also a lovely outdoor area that would be nice if it wasn't 100 degrees. I will definitely be back to try more menu items!

For me, it's traditionally been a business lunch or dinner destination, but this visit was a personal lunch during the workday. We've now been here several times over the years, and unfortunately the experience has been remarkably consistent. For lunch we ordered: * Blackberry Salmon * Shrimp & Grits * Unsweetened Iced Tea * Saratoga Still Water Our bill came to $70.38 before tax and tip and also included a 3.5% Kitchen Appreciation Fee. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Both the building and the dining room create an inviting atmosphere that makes you expect a memorable meal. The ingredients were clearly high quality, and that's what made the meal somewhat frustrating. The execution simply didn't bring those ingredients to life. The Shrimp & Grits came with only five shrimp. They were perfectly cooked, but the portion felt small for the price. The grits were prepared correctly but lacked much flavor or personality. The Blackberry Salmon had similar issues. The salmon itself was cooked well but wasn't seasoned to let its flavor shine. The rice was bland, and while the blackberries were an interesting idea, they didn't really complement the salmon for us. Again the portion was adequate but not generous. Service was pleasant. We were seated immediately despite arriving at noon on a weekday, and our order was taken promptly. As on previous visits, though, there was a noticeable wait before the food arrived. Parking has always been somewhat limited, although the restaurant now offers complimentary valet parking, which is a nice improvement. One final surprise came when reviewing the receipt afterward: the 3.5% Kitchen Appreciation Fee. We hadn't noticed it during the meal, we were not told about it and then tipped in addition to it. Whether or not restaurants choose to add this type of fee is their decision, but we'd appreciate it being communicated more clearly before the bill arrives so that we are not tipping the 3.5% fee itself. Ultimately, we wanted to like Glasshouse Kitchen more than we did. The setting is beautiful, the ingredients are good, and the staff is pleasant. But after several visits, we continue to come away feeling that the food needs more thoughtful seasoning, the portions don't quite justify the price, and the overall value doesn't match the cost. We hope they'll refine the menu because the restaurant has the foundation to be much better than the meals we've experienced.

Food: (1st visit) South of the border wrap with brown derby chopper salad 5/5. I ate it all!! The salad was fresh and a mix of the perfect amount of ingredients. We actually came one Saturday, but it was unexpectedly closed, but we caught them the following one, so good to call and confirm before driving over. You walk up to a door on the back, and scan a QR code to see the menu. Then knock on/ open the door and someone will come to take your order. Then you wait outside and they bring you your sandwiches. The lady who took our order was very friendly. The kitchen was rather large, so I suspect it's used for more than just this business. We ordered two turkey subs-- the East New York (which was slightly spicy) and the Dumbo. Wait time was maybe 7-10 minutes or so. Both sandwiches came nicely wrapped, and I think total cost was a little over $20. And conveniently, they take Apple Pay. These were not your Subway or Quiznos sandwiches-- these were DELICIOUS pressed sandwiches (we got them on focaccia. I personally liked the Dumbo the best-- it had a nice mix of flavors that meshed well. The East New York was solid and had a nice spiciness, but not quite as exciting overall. Would I come back? Probably, but since there's no seating, and it's a bit awkward, maybe not the first place I'd think to try, but again, the sandwiches were REALLY good. I do think it may be excellent for catering or for getting picnic sandwiches though.
