Great spot! Wayback offers excellent deals (such as $3 burgers) for really good food. It gives you the taste of a more upscale burger joint but the wait time of fast food. It's the perfect spot when you're craving a juicy burger and salty fries. Their milkshakes are to die for! I visited in late September and got the seasonal pumpkin spice milkshake- it was da bomb. The cashier was incredibly friendly and very helpful in providing information about the menu. They have some unique sides such as the mac n' cheese bites and loaded fries. Disgusting... delivered in a dirty bag, strawberry and vanilla shakes looked almost identical. Yes I said strawberry looked similar to the vanilla shake. It looked like they were trying to use the last of the mix to get two shakes from it. One was almost as thick as ice cream and the other like milky water. On my lunch hour a "cooked to order" burger was definitely calling my name,so I went to none other than Wayback Burger to help me out. They did not disappoint. Not knowing that today was National Burger Day & all burgers were just three bucks I went big & ordered the double bacon burger. You can customize the burger to your liking I went with lettuce ,tomato ,fried onions, mayo, pickle, bacon and cheese. From the fresh roll to the juicy filling meat just the way you'd make it at home. Had to stop myself from ordering another ,lol. On the side I ordered the O- fries ( half onion rings half fries 3.99 ) and they gave me a incredible sauce to try it was like a barbecue mustard I totally recommend. The Rings were huge and delicious the fries were decent. Service was great I was greeted as I walked in and they told me today's special and I had my food in less than 10 minutes. Had excellent conversation with some of the employees as I asked many questions. Plenty of seating and very clean inside . The menu looks good can't wait to come back to try more things . There are other options easily accessible and far better than stopping here. place was empty on a Friday late afternoon. Jake's Wayback makes a pretty good burger. The patties are fresh and juicy, the cheese melts wonderfully in the middle, and the romaine lettuce and slice of tomato top it off perfectly with the quality roll it's all sandwiched inside. When I'm feeling risky (that is, when I know I'm going to be full from the burger but don't care and want to order more things), I'll get a milkshake, which is a fun and refreshing option to have. There's tons of flavors, and all the ones I've tried have been very good. I know people like to compare Jake's to Five Guys and say Five Guys is better, but I think it's better to judge Jake's for what it is. I like Five Guys better too, but Jake's is a great alternative to its fast-food counterparts in the area, and its locations are popping up in convenient areas. Also, you can get shakes there. Prices are pretty reasonable as it is, but Jake's also sends out tons of coupons for buy one get one burgers with the purchase of a beverage, buy one get one shakes, and also free house-made chips with the purchase of a burger of the month. I just visited Jake's Burgers yesterday for the first time. It's connected to a Dunkin Donuts. When I walked in and looked around I wasn't thinking great thoughts. It honestly looked like a burger version of Dunkin. What I got was something much different. The setup is decent. You can eat there or take out. We chose to take out. There were two girls taking orders. I guy on the grill and the manager was preparing the rolls and finalizing the order. It was nice to see a working manager. He paid close attention to how he was filling the orders. The guy who was at the grill did one thing I didn't like. He took each mound of hamburger and flattened way to much on the grill. That was my only concern. I ordered two Jake's Double Cheeseburgers. The burger was moist and juicy. Not really greasy at all. I had them put bacon,lettuce,tomato,mayo and ketchup on both. I also ordered a shake. The burgers had a really grat taste. They actually tasted like they were cooked on a grill. They were wellmade and pretty much everything I wanted in a burger. The bread is very fresh and kind of thick for a hamburger roll. This makes the whole burger very filling. Ingredients are top notch. The chocolate shake was the best I've had in the area. It was so flavorful and rich. MMM going back to get more. It's a little on the pricey side. About the same price as Wendy's but much much better. Jake's has a great thing going here. The Triple Triple was a pretty heavy burger albeit an expensive gimmick. It was perhaps the sloppiest thing I have ever eaten. Greasy, meat completely fell apart, which would have been fine had it filled me up, it didn't. I could have had a Five Guys Bacon Cheeseburger with 4 additional patties for half the price which would have tasted better. Price wise, I would have been ok with a good tasting burger, but it didn't have any explanatory taste. While I knew I was eating a burger, it didn't have any kick, punch, taste... Nothing. I ended up filling up on a milkshake. Fries, onion rings.... All bland. After eating here ONE time, I remembered why I always chose to skip this place and keep driving to Middletown for Five Guys. read more

I was not impressed with Wayback. When we arrived, we were the only ones there. Not a good sign. The restaurant smelled of dirty mop water. The four staff members behind the counter were milling about hoping for something to do. We placed our order and the staff members were friendly and courteous. Then we waited for our food. Teagan and I got burgers. Hunter and Megan got shakes. Food came out fairly quickly and our order was accurate. The fresh potato chips were both burnt and under cooked at the same time. Not a great start. The cheesy single burger was tasteless. The bread had been lubricated with a large amount of golden colored lights grease which left a bad taste in my mouth and caused me to use 4 napkins to get all the grease off my hands. From the other Yelp reviews we weren't sure what to expect from this place, but we went anyways to try something new. While ordering the cashier replaced our order of a full size fry with a full size fry combo claiming it to be cheaper this way... It wasn't. I ordered a double burger "our way" without onions. What I got was a double burger "our way" with onions... Whatever. It's not like they were chopped into tiny pieces so that it was impossible to get them all off. Wait... yes they were. The burgers only took 20 minutes to get to us, with the excuse that they had to cook us fresh fries.... Like come on. Jake's Wayback burgers is comparable to Five Guys, but I like Jake's a bit better than Five Guys. Jake's prices are affordable and they have a wider selection of creative burger combinations. They also make great milkshakes. As far as the burgers are concerned, anytime I have been here the burgers are always tender and juicy and never overly greasy.
