Five stars for 5 guys! This was my first time at a 5 guys and I was so pleased with the staff. They were supper friendly from start to finish. They were super helpful in explaining their menu to me (singles vs doubles). They were amazing at accommodating my gluten allergy! And the burgers were I will definitely return! read more

If you've ever read any of my past reviews, you know I'm all about consistency. And if you haven't, you should go read them now because I'm awesome at this, but I digress! The thing is, even if the food isn't mind-bogglingly life changingly amazing, if it's super consistent, I'll give props for that. If I know what I'm getting, I'm happy. Conversely though, if the food IS really good (and I'm not saying necessarily gourmet good here, I'm just saying GOOD) it's even more important to be consistent. Some places do it so well, it's almost mind boggling. Let's get this straight, I've been to no less than 10 Five Guys locations no less than probably 50 times total and literally have never been disappointed and more importantly, never been surprised. The level of consistency that these guys pull off across the whole spectrum is really impressive. And yeah, I get it...it's burgers and fries. But it's some of the best chain burgers and fries that I've certainly ever, had, top 5 for sure. And again, it's ALWAYS that good. Food aside, I've also never had any issue with service at any location, including this one. I'm not saying it may happen once in a while, I'm sure it does. But overall I think this if you're looking for something quick, delicious, and reasonably priced, you can't go wrong at any Five Guy's locations. read more

Meh....... I just don't really get the appeal of this place. Don't get me wrong- whether I am pregnant when I go here or not, I love me some french fries. BUT- for the price this place is just mediocre at best. My husband got a bacon cheeseburger, and I kept it simple w/ a grilled cheese and some fries. The fries are delicious- who doesn't like fries? Did I mention that I love fries? LOL- I have to say that the cheeseburger was skimpy at best. We ordered this w/ 2 drinks and it was over $24 bucks!!!! The "entire bag filled w/ fries" deal is my only favorite part about this place. The service was nice and the kids behind the counter were polite. Overall just do not really see a reason to go back here- too crappy for the money you spend. read more

Took my two daughters there tonight and ordered 2 Little Cheeseburgers, 1 Reg Cheeseburger, 3 small fries and 1 bottle of water. Final bill $41.04!!! Not worth the price for a simple burger and fries!! Let's break it down.... Little cheeseburger $7.19 ea. for a thin burger about 1/8 lb., a piece of cheese and bun. For a fast food meal; i have not had better. Meat great, fries best ever had anywhere, even the buns taste better than anything i could buy at Stop and Shop. Service is friendly and efficient. Five Guys rates Three Stars. The bacon, mushroom, cheeseburgers I had were really pretty good, but also REALLY overpriced for what is essentially fast food. The "little" order of French fries would put a large fry at other fast food joints to shame, but they were limp and soggy. I'd be loathe to see an extra large order. These, like the burger were overpriced. I mean, 3 dollars and change for a LITTLE order? Seriously? And being limp and soggy added insult to injury. I ate maybe 6-8 fries, and tossed the rest. The $4.49 SMALL strawberry milkshake was actually the high point of lunch. What does that tell you? Service was friendly, but seeing as they weren't very busy, it took almost 15 minutes for my order #64, to be called out. The young man cooking did apologize for the delay, but offered no explanation. These so called boutique burger joints (Five Guys, Jakes, Smashburger, and others) are all over-rated and WAY overpriced. By the way, if you like peanuts, they're free for the taking. There's a barrel of them and a scoop, with small trays to put them in. Eat all you want is the message, I guess. I think I'll keep my burger needs confined to a good tavern burger, found in taverns on most any street you can name, that are the same price, or less expensive. Great place to eat. Love the food. Amazing. 4 stars because pick up is basically the same thing as going in and ordering it in person. I placed an order online. It read the order would be done in 8mins. 20 minutes later my husband is still waiting for the food. Don't offer pick up if we can't just go in and pick it up. Love and hate for five guys. read more

This is the worst Five Guys I've been to so far. The employees completely forgot about my order and when I asked they acted like they never saw me. The manager didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. I love the This chain in general. At this particular store the folks behind the counter were very friendly. The entire time I was there, a man was out in the dining area cleaning. The burgers were excellent, on the lean side. The lettuce and onions were fresh. As with their other stores, the French Fries were amazing. My waistline will suffer but I will be back. read more

I ordered two little bacon cheeseburgers and a large Cajun fry for me and my wife. I live 30 minutes from meriden. When they said I was ready I went up showed the receipt and made an exchange with the gentleman who i handed the receipt to. I was on an important phone call with work so I just trusted they got my order right considering he looked and took my receipt. I got home all excited and I had a regular small fry and 1 cheeseburger which is not at all what I ordered. I called right away when I noticed hoping they would just cover me next time with a credit or something. I explained to the lady what happened and I even gave her the exact order. Turns out they gave me the order from the person before me. So I payed double the money and the only option she gave me was to go right back at that time and make my order over again. Since it was a half hour drive and I just got done working a 13 hour shift I was not in favor of that at all. If they had let me come back during the weekend everything would be ok. Usually the location in New Haven is where I go for Five Guys and I've never had any issues. I first ate at this Five Guys in Meriden when it first opened last year. Haven't been back in months and last night decided to go there for dinner. Big mistake!! I have been sick ever since. I had the regular burger and small fries, right away something seemed "off" about the burger. The fries were piping hot so I assume they were fresh. I ate less than half and ended up throwing everything away. Right now still sick, with a lot of pain, nausea and no appetite. Either I'm right and the burger and/or condiments weren't fresh or someone preparing the food had dirty hands. I will not be back to this location. read more

Today I went to the Five Guys in Meriden, CT. We ordered 2 burgers, 1 large fry and 2 shakes, which came to $34.62, we were order 57. as we waited 3 more people ordered, they called their orders before ours. when we finally received our order the fries were half the size as normal. I said something to manager and she said order was correct without even looking in bag! I have eaten there over 50 times and I know it was short. So a good manager would of just gave me more fries but she made me order another order which cost $6.37! Then she said this order she would make it right! Not only did we have to wait another 10 minutes, the cook and manger kept talking loudly and were not paying attention. So my first order of course was ice cold the time they finished! The place was not that busy yet the restaurant is so dirty! I feel the workers were very unprofessional. I will never go to that location again. Less yapping and maybe more cleaning! read more
