After two root canals through crowns, both teeth needed attention from a general practitioner, and Dr. Dee and her staff were fantastic. I was concerned I might have to replace the crowns, but Dr. Dee, after her exam, informed me all that I would need were permanent fillings, and she and her assistant, Ms. Sincere, went right to it. It was easy, painless and very quick....I was out in less than 45 minutes and all has been well since. Both Dr. Dee and Ms. Sincere were friendly, relatable, and very fun to be around. It made for a comfortable engagement. The way they engaged was professional and I never doubted their skill and knowledge. I should also mention Franco and Ashley, both of whom assisted me in the initial contact and arranging treatment. The treatment required coordination with my endodontist, and that went off without a hitch. The new patient forms were easy to access and complete and, having done those, the billing portion was also a breeze. A special nod to Franco, who ensured he made contact with me after several missed attempts. So friendly and kind. To top it off, the practice provides each new patient with a coffee mug filled with goodies and, later, a thank you card that, admittedly, was designed both to thank and promote the practice, but was still a nice touch.

I visited Reston Family Smiles after repeatedly receiving their new-patient flyers advertising a…read more$98 special that included an exam, X-rays, and cleaning. The exam and X-rays were fine. The receptionist and the gentleman who took my X-rays were friendly and professional. The problem started when it came to the cleaning. After I was already there, I was told that I supposedly needed a deep cleaning instead. They spent a significant amount of time explaining why I should get it, showing me pictures, and discussing information that was meant to convince me to pay for a much more expensive treatment, which I was told could cost around $1,400. I questioned why I was being asked to leave without receiving the cleaning that was advertised. Only then did the receptionist check with the hygienist. The hygienist eventually came in, but her attitude was extremely rude and unwelcoming. She clearly did not seem interested in performing the advertised cleaning. What I received was essentially a very brief polishing that lasted less than a minute. I did not receive what I understood to be a dental cleaning. That experience completely changed my opinion of the office. I have no problem with a dentist recommending additional treatment when it is genuinely necessary. What I do have a problem with is advertising a $98 new-patient cleaning, exam, and X-rays, getting the patient into the office, and then trying to replace the advertised cleaning with a much more expensive treatment. Based on my experience with this particular team, I would not return to Reston Family Smiles. I also would not feel comfortable trusting them with future dental or emergency care. The receptionist and X-ray technician were genuinely nice. Unfortunately, the experience with the hygienist and the way the advertised cleaning was handled completely outweighed the positive interactions.

I first started seeing Dr. Canal while I was playing professionally for D.C. United, and even after my soccer career, I have continued to trust him with all of my dental care. That alone says everything about the confidence I have in him. Dr. Canal is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled, and genuinely cares about his patients. He treats everyone like family. Every appointment starts with a warm smile, a firm handshake, and a conversation that makes you feel welcomed rather than just another patient. Whether it's a routine cleaning or a more complex procedure, he takes the time to explain everything, answers every question, and makes sure you're comfortable throughout the process. Over the years, I've had everything from routine dental care to more extensive work, and every procedure has been done flawlessly the first time, with no setbacks or complications. His attention to detail and commitment to excellence are second to none. What makes the experience even better is the incredible staff. From the moment you walk through the front door, you're greeted by one of the friendliest and most professional front desk teams you'll ever meet. The dental assistants are equally outstanding, kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and always focused on making each visit as comfortable as possible. You can tell everyone in the office genuinely enjoys caring for their patients, and that positive culture is reflected in every interaction. In my opinion, Dr. Canal is the best dentist I have ever had and one of the very best in the entire country. I recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for exceptional dental care. If you're searching for a dentist who combines world class expertise with genuine compassion and an amazing team, look no further than Dr. Canal.

Despite good dental health, I was fearful and hesitant find another dentist after transitioning to a new insurance plan and new work location (from Washington DC to Northern Virginia). I had been at my previous dentist for nearly 12 years. It turns out, change is good! I've found that those areas that were frequently listed as "watch and monitor" did in fact require action by way of filling. Listen, bad news doesn't get better with time when it comes to a weak spot in your tooth enamel. I found the staff to be very professional and incredibly personable! I saw Dr. Jenny Cheung. Dr. Cheung took the time to listen to my concerns (some aesthetic and some functional) and provided great advice and recommendations. I feel my smile is improved and I have a renewed interest in wearing my night guard each night (she found the right words to motivate me to form a new habit.) I loved how she used distraction techniques to minimize my thought of having a Novocain needle "pinch" or sting before getting a filling. The whole experience (from parking to payment was first rate.) The highlights: - Dr. Cheung has been on-time for both appointments (I was in the dental chair within 5 minutes of my appointment time). - The waiting area has current magazines to read (nobody likes to read magazines from 2013!) - The bathroom has toothbrushes and toothpaste for a quick freshen (for those post work/school appointments). - The front desk staff let me know an estimate of "patient responsibility" based on my insurance prior to making my follow-on appointment. This is huge to me as if I know I have a $2200 responsibility, I may choose to schedule a month or two out to avoid putting dental work on a credit card if at all possible. My situation wasn't bad at all, but I could certainly see where having the information up front could help a person plan for the necessary work. - Appointments can be made on ZocDoc (often times I work in cubicle land which doesn't allow for privacy at work, so having the ability to quietly schedule online is a bonus). - Free parking (my previous dentist was nearly $21 to park each time) I look forward to having a new 12 year relationship with a dentist! See you in 6 months!

Their attention to detail and patient-centered approach truly sets them in their own league. Dr. Cheung is, hands down, the best dentist I have ever seen. I've undergone major restorative dental work with her, and her skill, precision, and expertise are extraordinary. Beyond her technical ability, she is compassionate, thorough, and takes the time to ensure you understand everything. You can tell she deeply cares about her patients and takes tremendous pride in her work. If you are considering switching dental practices, I highly recommend RDC without hesitation. My past two dental insurances only cover this service for children 16 and under and is not covered for adults. The hygienist said it was covered and I ended up having to pay OOP. Two hygienists have verbalized it in this way. It's likely a 2 minute procedure that lets them make $40-50 hence why they do this. It's not a good business practice to not clearly and fully inform the patient. Parking is good, dentist is good. Equipment seems very updated and has the TV screen that you can watch from the chair. I first called the one that was in the same building as me and was surprised they were able to get me in the same day. I went down on my lunch break and was amazed at their customer service. Upon arrive the lady at the front desk asked me if I felt up to it enough to be given a tour of the office which I agreed to and loved she cared enough to ask. She showed me the sink and toothbrush and toothpaste they keep in the reception area for people to be able to freshen up prior to their appointments and then showed me around to the rest of the office going by the hygienist area, the treatment/Dr. Myles area followed by the billing and office manager area before coming back up front. I love if you do arrive early they do have a quite room with a t.v. in there especially for those of us who get anxious being at the dentist office. After a few minutes I was called back to have my 360 xrays done and my wing bites. Once those were put on the screen the dr assistant came back and did a quick exam and determined which tooth was hurting and soon after Dr. Myles came back and did a through exam and confirmed the tooth. He stated it was my wisdom tooth and it was just better to go ahead and have all of them pulled at once so I wouldn't have further problems with them down the road and be back in the same boat. He also informed me I had some other problem areas so once I went to the Oral surgeron and had those teeth pulled to come back and see him for a deep cleaning and to start the repair work on getting my teeth back in order which I knew I needed done for a long time. Overall, a great experience and I love how friendly and down to early Dr. Myles once and he was able to keep my anxiety down in an already painful situation. Even though he wasn't able to help me at that moment they were able to make sure I got into the oral surgeon they work with ASAP so that they could see how in depth my procedure would be and give me an plan of attack for getting my teeth removed safely (I have seizures). I will be back to get the rest of my work done and think for the first time in my adult life I have actually found a dentist I trust.

I came strictly because of how many patients have spoken so highly about Dr. Han and his staff. making an appointment over the phone with the office manager, Diana, was easy; she made sure the appointment fit my schedule rather than the doctor's. I was able to fill out all my paperwork prior to my visit, so upon arrival, I checked in and was whisked to the back almost immediately. they didn't waste any time getting me set up for X-rays and reviewing my previous dental history. the hygienist took a look around and asked about any concerns I had. she was gentle and always quick to ensure I was comfortable while she was poking and prodding around. afterwards, Dr. Han popped in, and he is definitely unlike any other dentist I have ever met. he jumped right in and made sure to address any issues or topics I wanted to go over. since I didn't have many, he went through a few things he noted. it actually got to the point where he drew out a tooth to explain something to me in depth--which was a bit shocking in the best way. he pointed out a few of my "vintage" dental fillings that are no longer standard practice and made a note to have them updated. he clearly explained his goals for my teeth and what we need to do to achieve them. overall, I was so pleased with my experience here and have already booked several follow-up appointments... including getting my Invisalign set up! the ladies at the front made the scheduling process incredibly easy, and I've already received all my text confirmations. I truly appreciate how communicative Dr. Han is, how friendly and welcoming everyone in this office is, and how you don't feel like "just another new patient" here. I highly recommend this dental clinic for anyone looking for a new dentist!
