I love Wayne's. A real local classic! I've never had to complain about Wayne's. EVER.

I will start off by saying we LOVE old fashioned drive-ins. We were visiting the area from DFW and had seen this place pop up as suggested several times and we knew it was a must before our drive back. We ordered two burgers, onion rings, cheese tots and a banana milkshake and I believe it was under $30 with tip. They brought it right out to the car. All of it was good quality ingredients and they were very busy on the sunday afternoon we were there. Our only issue was there were a lot of flies outside and we couldn't sit with our windows open for long. But we sure wish this was closer to home, an easy choice over sonic any day! read more

Iconic drive in to anyone that has ever lived in Lawton. Food is still good just not as good as I remember .

I love Waynes more than any drive inn I've ever experienced. They are consistent with every visit and always give service with a smile. Their drinks are what you go for at Wayne's. The Cherry Sprite and Vanilla DP are the BEST! I love the crunchy ice they use and the small straws. If you're going for a good bite to eat, I would highly recommend grabbing a pizza or bbq sandwich! This review may change, but I've been to this location twice for lunch/dinner to try them out bc they look like an old school drive in eatery that I miss as a child. But both times they've disappointed me. There chili cheese fries were plain, soggy, and not cheesy at all. As if they just grab a handful of fries, put some old can beef mix maybe with some beans, topped it with shredded cheese , and threw it in the microwave. I think you should call your cheeseburger "cardboard and cheese. It was soggy, no taste in the flat patty, and poorly arranged burger set up! The cheese sticks that I got were already cool enough for the cheese to be harden and stale. I hope my third visit is better, but it'll be a while until I try them again. read more

Was out visiting a close friend and wanted a part of Lawton. So this Old fashion drive in spot. So we stopped in and I got the fried steak sandwich on garlic bread. It was nice size and it cooked just right. Tasted for juicy and GREAT !!!!!!! Can't wait to go visit again and try something like a burger here. I'm a burger lover. read more

Oh my gawd. This place is amazing!!!So I'm visiting my boyfriend who's stationed at Fort Sill and I wanted to eat somewhere I have never eaten before. Well the nostalgic memories of the 80s needs to stay packed away..the burgers just lost the flavor, the amount of condiments and just a bland taste. French fries lacking in taste and not too roughly cooked to a crunchy texture..Disappointed since am from out of town visiting family..proof not all things better with age..am a Lawton native with roots but today was just not the day for Wayne's Food ..am sure the drinks are still the bomb but just had the burgers and fries. read more

Another example of an awesome local restaurant: I got a cheeseburger and the buns were grilled. That's new. But it was awesome. The thick cheese made it even better. You order in drive up stalls like Sonic. The menus are small and kind of old looking but that's because it's an old place. Don't let its oldness deceive you. Great place with fresh food read more

"Lawton's Best Burger" is a point of debate. There are those who prefer chain stores like Sonic or Whataburger, or even the offerings from sit down restaurants like Chilis. Some are willing to drive out to the mountains and get a burger from the Meers Store. I think Wayne's has the best burgers in the Lawton area. First of all, the ground beef is fresh. It doesn't have that frozen for a few years taste common with many fast food chains. There's lots of options on how you can get your burger dressed. And then the burgers are big (unless you order a sissy burger). Waynes also has other non-burger sandwiches and a variety of hot dogs on the menu. They even have pizza. There's lots of drink options too. Not any with alcohol though -it is a drive in restaurant. Sodas, slushes, milkshakes, coffee, hot chocolate and even bottled water can be ordered. Wayne's Drive Inn has been in operation since 1950. At the time of this writing the Abshere family has started construction on a second Wayne's Drive Inn. The new restaurant is being built on Lawton's west side, next door to Carmike Cinemas, and it should be open sometime during the summer of 2006. read more

They do offer breakfast all day, ice cream malts and goodies like that, but I just had the burger, so I can't tell you about their other items. read more

I had forgotten why I stopped eating at Wayne's when I lived in Lawton a few years ago. I was reminded of this yesterday. After returning to Lawton, I decided to be nostalgic and take a trip to Wayne's. Feeling hopeful, I pulled into the stall and skimmed the menu: same old menu, same drinks. I quickly ordered a Love Potion No. 9, and Ham and Cheese Sandwich. The drink taste the same, and I've always enjoyed it, so I had no complaints at the time. The sandwich however, was bland, unpalatable, and not worth the $6 I had spent on it. Either way, I was hungry and decided to eat my lunch and get back to work. Fast forward to yesterday evening, I had never been so sick from consuming food. Even today, although feeling better after staying up all night being sick, I still do not feel 100%. Heed my warning. This is my second time here and me and my wife thought we just came at the wrong time one day but no. You are far better off going to Wendy's for absolutely everything on the menu. I'm a huge burger fan and if you are absolutely craving one go to SnBs burger joint or whataburger, not here. I got a bacon burger with a fried egg and fried onions and was extremely disappointed. The patty is so unbelievably bland and the only thing that stood out was the egg, which was actually a fresh egg. Such a soggy wet burger with no flavor. I also got onion rings as a side and they were far from decent. Also SnBs burger joint has far better shakes so I probably won't finish mine either. Wayne's is a pretty decent drive up (think Sonic). If you are choosing between Wayne's or Sonic, Wayne's wins hands down. The burgers are decent but nothing special, especially compared to some of the other burger places in Lawton; Burgess Grill being the stand out that comes to mind. But the food comes pretty quickly and is usually fresher than what you might find at the bigger chain fast food places and priced about the same. read more

So excited to try this place after passing by it several times traveling through town for work. I added it to my bookmarks and decided to stop in today. So sorry that I did. I ordered a double cheeseburger and large tots with cheese. The first thing that caught my attention were the brown circular shaped patties of what I thought were beef. They tasted more like dense cardboard discs with grease. The tater tots weren't bad but how can you really mess up frozen tater tots? I only ate half of the burger and seriously feel like pulling over and throwing up. Will let you know how the next 10 miles goes. Fast service, friendly staff, great variety. Sweet tea could use some sugar lol. My husband had the Double bacon cheese burger...which was delicious! I had the fish & chips... not bad. The fish was extremely hot, onion pretty good, skinny Lil fries & also came with garlic toast. Over all, pretty good. Can't wait to try some different things on the menu. read more

Funny how this review is in my profile but no longer in the Yelp reviews thread for Wayne's. No problem I will just post again. Still love this place! 2012 - OMG! Talk about diabetes in a bag Wayne's is your place. Get the chicken or steak fingers or sticks whatever they call them they are disgustingly YUMMY! Oh and Onion rings and a large shake. The fries are also great, so salty i can feel my blood pressure head spin and feet swelling starting up just thinking about them When i feel like eating fat cholesterol carbohydrate clog your heart fast food and I'm in Lawton i go to Waynes forget Sonic they are amateurs compared to this place. The burgers are just ok (better than sonics and without the obligatory Oklahoma thumb hole in the bun) but those steak and chicken sticks are something special. Wayne's is an old fashioned drive in. The sign says they've been in business since 1950. We tried the hamburger $2.99, Fish and chips $6.69,, double bacon burger $5.49 and grilled chicken $3.99. It was pretty good. We ordered onion rings and french fries. I would go here again for sure. read more

It's rare that I come here but when I do I get the steak finger dinner , I tried their burgers and it just was not up to part! Just seem like it had an mixed taste to it like it had liver or something in it idk lol but steak fingers are good and idk about the fries bc by the time we get to medicine park they are nasty but the steak fingers are huge and u get bread, my hubby gets the chicken strips which is good also he said the breakfast is nasty I never ate that though. Wayne's is basically a higher quality Sonic's offered locally. They have burgers, sandwiches, sides, and other things emulating Sonic's such as slushes and shakes. I had the burger here and it was run-of-the-mill. Not bad, but nothing amazing either. It is a must when you visit Lawton. Get the Love Potion #9 drink it is DELICIOUS!! The large size Wayne's Wizards are HUGE so make sure you are able to handle the size of them before ordering. The food is wonderful and the options are plentiful. There is something for everyone at Wayne's.Everytime I go home to visit it is a must. I was born and raised in Lawton and Wayne's is one of those places like Burgess Grill that I could eat at every day and never get tired of it. Their burgers have always been great, fries great, and just about everything on the menu I have always heard is great. I f you want it hot and fast and great prices this is the place! It dates back to my parents high school years and mine as well, is located on town strip/drag and is one of those places that has been consistent in Lawton for many generations now. I love the pull up menus, the trays, the misters, and old school style of the building. I have also tried the new location now and it's just as good. The food isn't spectacular here, but its really is good, old fashioned food. The Onion rings are hand dipped and the batter-amazing! The cookies and shakes here are homemade and taste it. -Wonderful!! Good food, we went for lunch and had the fried chicken sandwich with oion rings and chesse sticks. Onion rings were great, excellent crust and very large. The chicken was good too, only bad thing was the cheese sticks, not the same batter at all, in fact I'm pretty sure they where costco frozen ones. But overall a desent spot for lunch and waitress was great. Will have again next year when @ Ft Sill. read more

Every time I passed this place at lunch time (either location) it was PACKED! While I love supporting local establishments, its honestly exactly like Sonic. Their menus are almost exactly the same. I'm not really a fan of fast food but this was pretty good, especially if you're a fan of Sonic. This place definitely seems to have quite a cult following and I'm happy to see a local restaurant thrive. I'm just not their biggest fan. read more

Favorite drive-in in Lawton. Love the sweet tea and array of soda flavors. Ice Cream is great too. Like the shrimp basket, sissy burger and more. Have to come here every time I'm in town. Carhops are super friendly too. Love the green lights and this place. Gotcha some! read more
