I really enjoyed Wayside Cider Room. Not only is it a cute outdoor spots for drinks and food, but the staff is very welcoming and the venue is so cute. I didn't see any indoor seating so if you plan to visit on a cold day/evening bring a sweater. There is shelter over the outdoor seating but not enough to keep you warm. The menu has a lot of options and the staff knows what they're talking about when it comes to suggestions. I wasn't well versed in cider so it was nice to have the staff help me choose a few ciders to taste.

Yummy food & cute spot in a small town. It's so wonderful to have a good food option in such a remote spot. I had the tomato soup which was very good and also a bowl of their Mac & cheese which was filling and flavorful. If your in the area stop by.

This place is so cool! I have been coming to the Catskills my entire life and haven't seen a place this trendy up here ever. We came Saturday of Columbus Day Weekend and sidled up to the bar to order some drinks and food. The cider was a bit dry for me on its own, so I ordered the sangria made with cider and fresh fruit. My mom and aunt ordered the rose lemonade (no alcohol, so good) and the whiskey drink made with honey. We also ordered a cheese plate - OMG. Could eat that forever. 4-5 types of cheeses, fruit, bread, crackers, fig jam. So delicious and great accompaniment to the drinks. They also offer take home beer and ciders. Make this a destination if you're anywhere in the area!

Cider? Yes! This was such a great place and a complete surprise that is would be just that awesome. We were cruising through the Catskills to see what we could see on a rainy Sunday afternoon and BAM. Wayside Cider. The friendly fellow behind the bar gave us a "CAN DO" on a flight of ciders (I think they had 5 of their own plus others). We ended up having a few more glasses and bringing a few bottles home. Half Wild was my fave - but they had some super dry ciders which are such a relief in this too-sweet-supermarket-cider world. Eileen the Cider Maker was incredibly gracious to come out and talk with us about cider making. She told us of some of her new ideas and about the whole process - which was all interesting since we come from more of a beer background. Learned all about Bag in Box and Headspace? Champagne yeast? Cool! The space is so well designed for hanging out. It was just lovely. There is an additional covered bar "out back" with picnic tables and yard games. It happened to be POURING the day we visited - so be prepared for some very red mud in the driveway. All part of the charm. We will so be back!

Now, you may think that it would be insanely difficult to plan a wedding from the opposite side of the country, but Casper is so organized it was stress-free. He is very quick to respond to e-mail correspondence and very thorough on phone conversations. There is so much that goes into these days, but the barn truly has it down to a science. With easy to follow brochures and forms, the planning went so very smoothly. We wanted a very intimate celebration, so we chose a weekday package. It was so affordable and very inclusive, we basically had to sign and choose food and a few decor options. It may sound like we had a simple day, but it was truly anything but. Kim and Kelly designed the most beautiful floral arrangements for the day - I am still shocked at how perfect they were. The entire staff at the barn moved like a well-oiled machine. The Captains House, The Hilltop Pavilion, The Pine Grove, and The Barn are out of a fairy tale. I can't even begin to describe how perfect and beautiful our day was. When I relive the day in my head, I wouldn't/couldn't ask for anything more from The Roxbury Barn and Estate. What a wonderful venue with the greatest staff. I'd choose this venue 1,000x over.

She wanted a very small immediate family and close friends only wedding and we could not be any happier with her choice for the venue. The Roxbury Barn setting, staff, and food were exceptional! We only had a total of 15 attendees, including the bride and groom. The mountain and luxurious green setting, clear crisp air and forest was a perfect setting for the wedding ceremony. The barn and outdoor area was extremely comfortable for the reception. Every staff member was attentive and very friendly. The food was delicious. Casper (the owner) and Kim (wedding coordinator) made sure that each guest was well taken care of. Our daughter raved about her experience planning the wedding and said that everything exceeded her expectations! We have never seen our daughter happier and so stress free. Thank you to all at Roxbury Barn & Estate that made this a very memorable occasion.

As a guest, it is pretty cool to pretty much have a place for the weekend, and do events the entire weekend. Also not to mention to not have a curfew or any time restrictions. First on friday, in the evening, we attended the toast. it was nice, and pretty cool to ride in a golf cart on the way to your destinations in between places. Only thing is it is a little cold to do things outside. the heat lamps at the toast did help, but everytime the wind blew and that the ground was wet, it was making everything cold, including me. Anyways tho, the event was gorgeous, and it was a perfect stay underneath the pavolon. The next day was the wedding. And again a bit cold to be outside, but bundling up helps. The view was gorgeous with mountains surrounding everyone. Next we took the golf carts to the barn. Will admit, since there was lots of people, it should have been a little more organized as far as getting people on the golf carts, but i think they managed pretty well. Now the barn, is so beautiful! Love the big setting with the bar, and the bar outside as well. Didn't really like the music tho, but that's more up to the wedding party-- like a little less electronic sounds and more full songs. If i danced to the full everytime we touched by cascada it would have been awesome! the floor is heated in the barn and it was pretty warm in there, which helped the people who were cold from the outdoors at least. love the atmosphere and it is a big place also. On Sunday, we went back to the barn for some breakfast. again tho kind of cold if people leave the barn door open. Overall fun atmosphere and cool place. Definetely different from the normal city husslers.

We couldn't have wished for a better location, right from the moment we saw Stone Tavern Farm, we fell in love with the place. The fact you have no time restrictions and can pretty much do whatever you want for a whole weekend meant our wedding would be completely unique. We got married at the end of September and had stunning weather as well as early fall leaf colors, it was perfect. We worked closely with John (the owner), Ashley (wedding coordinator) and Colin (onsite manager). Leading up to the wedding, John and Ashley are clearly very busy and sometimes didn't respond as quickly as we would have liked, but when they did, they calmly fixed all of our concerns. We were having nearly 200 people for the weekend and due to there being another wedding location nearby, finding accomodation for later responders was challenging but John promised everyone would get somewhere and he personally insured it happened. When it's your wedding week, John and his team make you feel like the most important people in the world and they handle EVERYTHING. From the cake topper breaking the morning of the wedding, to making sure all the guests are well taken care of while waiting for the ceremony to start (because our first look photos took longer than expected), to ensuring the bridal and groom actually get to eat at the cocktail hour and reception, to a STUNNING fireworks show! As with any wedding there is a great deal of planning involved. Because we were having a 3 day event, this workload was tripled. We started by looking at vendors recommended by Stone Tavern Farm as well as some of our own. Friday night we had John's BBQ (delicious!) and karaoke. Saturday we had cold cuts for lunch and lawn games and then for the ceremony used the phenomenal Rhinecliff as our caterers (Dale and James were LEGENDS) and the sublime Larry Siegel Band for our musicians. Sunday was a wonderful brunch in the pavillion (STF provided). Our flowers were provided by the Catskill Flower Shop and they were simply stunning, Lydia was extremely easy to work with and thoroughly professional. The talented Hendrick Moy was our wedding photographer. Also, Ashley did a wonderful job with our drapes and decor. All of these vendors were some of the finest I had ever seen at ANY wedding. The Rhinecliff catered to our Italian family on the bride's side and English family on the groom's side. Cocktail hour was well served and the main courses were hot and delicious (go for the short ribs!) The Larry Siegel Band were a 7 piece live band that played for almost 5 hours, they had a varied repertoire and all of our guests were floored by their talents. The drummer even played with the B52's in a previous life! When we met with Lydia at the Catskill Flower shop she took our "vision" and turned it into perfect table arrangements, bouquets, and other details into reality. Lydia even helped us to build on our ideas and gave us great recommendations for candles and other small details that made the ceremony site and barn look absolutely beautiful. Our only issue was with Rolling V Transportation. They were providing transportation for our guests to and from the ceremony. I would not recommend them at all, they wanted to pick up some guests at 12pm for a 4pm wedding start! They were completely useless and didn't seem to know the area at all. Thankfully John and Ashley stepped in and personally ensured that everyone got to and from the wedding. All in all we had a completely stunning and memorable wedding. Many people commented that it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to. Standing outside the barn at the cigar bar watching the climax of the day a huge private fireworks display cannot be put into words. Thank you everyone at Stone Tavern Farm for making our wedding the greatest day of our lives.

Yes, the…read moreThe Natural Gardens is a meticulously landscaped, beautiful dream setting in the Catskills. But the owners, Steve and Cathy, are what MAKE this venue absolute perfection. This property is their home, and they care for their guests like their own family - they put their heart and soul into this venue, and do the same when caring for their bridal couple. My husband and I were originally looking for a venue in Hudson Valley, but our guest size, desire for a weekend event, and Fall-timed nuptials prompted us to expand our search further into the Catskills. Thank goodness it did! When we arrived at the venue for our first visit, it was September, and the grounds were still beautifully lush and green, with blooming flowers. We were quickly won over by the treelines, ponds, and gardens. Steve is a horticulturist, and has cultivated every inch of the property with love - and it shows. We knew it would the tree-lines would be perfect for our fall wedding, complete with yellow, orange, and red foliage (and it was!). On that first day, Steve and Cathy took us on a tour of the property, and we loved that there were plenty of options to host a number of events, and have it feel like a 'different' venue for each aspect of our wedding weekend. They also had plenty of recommendations for us - from caterers to local hotel/private home accommodations. We booked with them a little more than a year in advance, and they stayed highly responsive and communicative right up until our wedding weekend. They also let us know that we were welcome to come back at any time to take photos (including engagement pictures), or make plans for our wedding weekend. We didn't end up doing so because we live in New York City, but it was helpful to know the option was there! During our wedding weekend, we ended up using the property for two days: On Friday, we held a Color Wars style game day for our guests, followed by a welcome party dinner in the forest. On Saturday, we had an outdoor ceremony, followed by a reception in the barn/event center, topped off with a s'mores bonfire under the stars. The weekend was magical, in large part thanks to Steve and Cathy. Unfortunately, we had a wedding planner who under-delivered, and Steve and Cathy were well aware of the stress and hardship that this caused us. But they made sure that we were well-taken care of, and graciously took on MUCH MORE than they should have had to to ensure the weekend was as successful as possible. From ensuring our cake was on display for our guests, to golf-carting us around the property to get photos/video in as many settings as possible, to combing the property for lost items the morning after, Steve and Cathy went above and beyond our expectations. And our guests absolutely LOVED all the photo ops with the beautiful fall scenery. We couldn't have picked a better spot to start our forever. Thank you, Steve and Cathy! PS - A few things to know/be mindful of: There's no mobile/wi-fi service (yet), but they are working on it. We actually loved that we (and our guests) were able to completely disconnect. It made for a better party! There is an onsite bridal house with plenty of couches, a bedroom, and sizeable makeup/hair space for wedding day. This bridal house was my absolutely LIFESAVER - it was a great place to retreat, get my zen, and prepare for the long day of wedding festivities. Steve and Cathy are constantly making upgrades to the venue - so ask about what they may have in store for your target dates. In between our booking and our actual wedding weekend, they built out some restrooms by the bonfire area which was also near we were had our "games." It was a perfect addition that was totally unexpected!

They worked nonstop, handling details large and small for our frankly, very disorganized group. They really are amazing! If you're considering Natural Gardens for any kind of event, I strongly recommend that you come and tour the property because the website simply cannot do justice to this stunning place. As you walk the grounds you'll find yourself thinking "This is the loveliest spot" each time you round another bend. The beautiful color palette in the trees, flowers and grasses will change with every visit. Cathy and Steve seem to be constantly improving the venue--we had a great cocktail hour after the ceremony at their new outdoor reception area. Some of our guests were the first to stay in the glamping cottages. Cathy catered our Friday night dinner. She's a really talented chef--and you'll be able to check out her culinary skills at the tavern they're opening soon on the property. We had a truly wonderful experience. There are so many choices one has to make for a wedding. The best decision we made was to hold it at The Natural Gardens.
