The service was quick, and the staff was very friendly. Kids were running and playing, and many people had their dogs with them. It felt like a picnic in the orchard. We got there over the weekend and there was a ten dollar cover charge. After sampling the ciders, the one we wanted wasn't available at the store. We tried some over by the food tent and got the next best one. The pond was nice and there was plenty of seating there. Walking the orchard a bit was also fun. Everytime I am upstate for a hike I try to make my way up here! Their service isn't bad as they keep the line moving. The cashier was attentive and you get a text message that lets you know your order is ready. They accept Apple Pay. The ambiance is one of the best parts about this spot. It is nice and relaxed with plenty of benches outside next to a pond and the apple trees. You can come in without paying entrance or anything and walk to the back for the food area where you also have free range to walk through the orchard. You're also able to purchase cider to go and other goodies like jams in the main building's market. For food, I usually come for the pizza which is always soooo tasty! We had: Appetizer/Sides: -Coleslaw: my husband is big on coleslaw and unfortunately this coleslaw fell widely short. You can tell it's a bit old from the color of both the Cole slaw and the cabbage itself. It was also bland and tasted more like unsalted pickle water. It had a lot of black seeds which he was a bit confused as to why and what they were. Entrees: -Margherita Pizza: YES! I come here for this specifically every time! The dough is flavored perfectly and the sauce is so fresh along with the cheese. -Mushroom Cheddar Burger: (accompanied with potato chips and a pickle) it was juicy, but a bit flavorless. I don't think I would've been able to eat this without the ketchup I added. The burger was also oily and watery at the same time. Preference wise also, I'm not a big fan of potato chips as a substitute for fries. Drinks: -Sparkling Apple Cider: AMAZING! So tasty and a great non-alcoholic choice to truly enjoy you being at the cider house! The apple flavor comes through beautiful and I also feel it is sweetened perfectly! The reasons I didn't give this spot 5 stars are because: -The pizza came out lukewarm on top of a burning hot tray. Didn't make send as to why the pizza wasn't: a. Fresh and b. Brooklyn Cider House is a craft cidery that opened at Twin Star Orchards in New Paltz, New York in 2015. It was founded by Korean-born siblings Peter and Susan Yi. After emigrating to the United States, the siblings grew up in Brooklyn. Peter worked in the wine industry for over 25 years with PJ Wine: a successful business that he started himself. During his travels to taste the world's best wines, he eventually made his way to Spain's Basque region. Peter was brought to a 'sagardotegi' (a traditional cider house that also serves regional cuisine) and fell in love with the cider. After returning to New York City, he decided to leave his wine business to start a cider business and Susan agreed to come on board with him. They came up with the name 'Brooklyn Cider House' in 2014 and produced their first batch of cider out of a rented space at Ravines Winery in Geneva (NY). The following year, the Yis purchased land in New Paltz to grow their apples and named it 'Twin Star Orchards'. A taproom was built where patrons could not only taste the hard ciders but also pair them with wood-fired pizza, wood-fired burgers, or wood-smoked BBQ. A second taproom opened in Brooklyn's Bushwick neighborhood in late 2017, but it closed three years later due to the pandemic. My family and I recently visited Brooklyn Cider House for the first time. We had great weather that day and the orchard grounds were gorgeous. After exploring the retail shop, we headed outside to grab a table. There was a live jazz group performing during our visit. My wife and I decided to order a couple of cider flights. She had the "Sweet" flight which featured "Half Sour", "Rosé" and "Kinda Dry". I had the "Dry" flight which featured "Sapsong", "Three of Life" and "Pomme Rouge". They were all excellent ciders! For food, we decided to order some delicious wood-fired pizzas. We all shared the "Margherita", the "Pepperoni", and "Sweet Sausage & Broccoli Rabe". They paired very well with the ciders. Before leaving, we grabbed a bottle of the "Rosé" cider to take home as well as some jars of locally-produced hot honey. We came here after seeing the good reviews, but honestly the experience was pretty meh. It's a beautiful setting with tables on the edge of a little lake, the orchard in the background and live music. We tried a few ciders. I would've like to try more, but flights were not being sold when we got there around 6:30. The sweetest one was my favorite, but I wish there was an even sweeter option. Most of them are too dry for me. Hard core cider lovers probably enjoy them though! The food was just ok for the most part. We tried three different pizzas. The 3 mushroom one was good, but I didn't taste any truffle at all. The dragons breath was very spicy. Lives up to the name! But the sausage and broccoli one was inedible as served. The broccoli was very bitter. I said it tasted like when you keep an aspirin in your mouth too long. Not good! Without the broccoli it was ok, but I don't feel like I shouldn't have to pick things off a pizza for it to be good. Idk if that was normal or just a fluke. Other than that they were well cooked. My friends and I visited Brooklyn Cider House on a snowy Saturday, which was lovely because we were the only ones there upon arriving. The indoor area has a good amount of seating to accommodate visitors, and there's also items for sale lining the walls including snacks, drinks, etc. We all opted for flights, but their machine had an issue processing card payments likely due to the snowstorm. We were still able to place orders and pay later on once the issue was resolved. The dry flight was okay, the sweet flight was a little better. I wanted to order a particular one on tap, but it seemed they had a very minimal selection available for those. It would be nice if there were more tap options, as that form is always the best for ciders. It's worth stopping in if you're planning on hanging around New Paltz, but I wouldn't make an entire trip there for the cidery. read more

This place is an absolutely hidden gem. After my husband and I did a bike ride up near New Paltz, I was searching for a really good farm to table place, and this place popped up. There were so many excellent reviews that I said, "Let's just go here. We both were in heaven. We absolutely loved everything. The cider donuts just came out of the oven and wow, omg they are to die for . It was very, very delicious and we wanted more but we waited until we left to buy a box. They are marked for good prices as well, $2.50. It's up there but it's real and very, very delicious. My husband and I decided to get the sample flights . He decided to get the fruity, and I decided to get the dry. Surprisingly, I actually really enjoyed the fruity sample better. The prices of the flights were at a great price. The fruity ones were $6.00, and the dry was $8.00 . Not bad at all . The bar attendant was very nice as well and explained everything to us. Came here after hiking at Sam's Point and it was a great spot! They had a small selection of ciders, as well as some solid food options. I got the rosé cider and little wild cider, dragons breath pizza, and a donut. All were delicious and pretty affordable with $8 for the cider cans and $22 for the pizza which was very filling after 3 slices. The donut was warm, very sugary, and soft. The pizza was very well made but VERY spicy so fair warning my lips were burning from the jalapeños. The ciders were very tasty with the little wild being my favorite (semi-sweet). They have really nice grounds you can walk on as well as a gift shop area that had a lot of cute things! The pizza was delicious, give it a try! The dough tasted really fresh and was nice and chewy. We did not care for the portobello burger, it was very bland and dry. The apple picking is ample in early fall, the ciders delicious (and also easy to purchase in the city if you are craving!), and the pizza divine. The pizza line is long though (wait time is ~45min to 1 hour on a weekend day), so would recommend ordering right when you get there to get your pizza at a reasonable time. I'll be back! read more

Cans and bottes start at about 7.00 and can go up to 16.00 i believe. That being said, split a 4 pack with someone. There are some bottles and cans that can be sold by themselves. The pizzas are very tasty and a nice surprise for a cidery. its a thin, neopoltian, style crust pie. layered with various toppings, sauce, and cheese. perfect to share on a date, or eat for yourself like the gluttonous pig that i am. my friend grabbed the "dragons breath". he ate it down quick, loved it. I dont think it wasy spicy at all. For me, the non meat eater, i had the 3mushroom white. Love the tender shrooms, perfect amount of cheese, and the hint of truffle oil. a pizza to die for! Keep in mind, theres plenty of pizzas here to get for the non meat eaters! We ate outside at our car since it was a nice day. We were allowed to use the bathrooms as long as we had face coverings and gloves. the inside of the brooklyn cider house smelled amazing and i cant wait to attend when covid is over. Date day was amazing here for their end of season pig roast, which tastes heavenly. It was a great time picking out our table and enjoying a nice bottle of cider with the wind whipping through the air over the pond and listening to the live band they provided for the afternoon. Such a lovely day here!! The space is enormous- so much room to socially distance and enjoy the beautiful views and yummy food + drink. We had the raw cider which was different flavor wise but good! Next on my list to try is the half sour. There were some other drink specials as well- I think some kind of apple margarita and a frozen rose drink. The margarita pizza ($14) was quite delicious, would definitely recommend. We enjoyed it next to the pond, with live music which was perfect too and made our day that much better. Very family friend. Lots of safety precautions and a very timely, organized system for ordering. I'm sure they are much more crowded during leaf peeper season but its great summer fun too!! Despite the heavy downpour last week, we enjoyed delicious pizzas and hard cider at Brooklyn Cider House after an 8 hour drive into New Paltz. To get to the food service, you walk through the Tasting Room and down the path to an open air pavilion with the ovens. Due to rain, the pavilion was packed, so we brought our takeout to the Tasting Room for the best of both worlds! It was quiet with comfortable wood tables, and they provided us with plates, napkins and utensils. We shared two cider flights and got 4 takeout pizzas -- 2 Dragon's Breath, 1 white mushroom and 1 pepperoni. The guys in the pavilion had told us each person would eat about 2/3 of a pizza and he was right as we had what amounted to just over a pizza in slices leftover. The Dragon's breath was our favorite with its unusual combination of chorizo, cilantro, jalapenos, sweet onions, hot honey and two cheeses. The hearty slices of mushrooms were full of flavor, and the pepperoni formed those highly sought after cups with slightly charred edges that is hard to find these days. Kinda dry cider was my favorite cider, followed by raw, but there was little agreement among my family which makes the flight format so fun. We all got to enjoy our favorites. read more

A nice setting for Apple picking, hard cider and pizza We came for lunch on a weekend and there were plenty of other customers for Oktoberfest. There's a store with hard cider, key lime pie, apple cider donuts and various other farm goodies. Beyond that there's an area for hot foods like burgers and pizza. The mushroom pizza was very tasty with plenty of mushrooms, onion and cheese, as was the margherita. You order and then they text you when the order is complete, which helps because it can get busy. Outside that area there's a pretty body of water with some tables; watch out for the pesky wasps though. Beyond that is the orchard which looked spacious. Everything was a bit pricey, reminiscent of Brooklyn prices. Donuts were $1.50 each and a bottle of hard cider was $5. Pizza was $13-15. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm and the place was packed! Lovely environment and vibes. People were picnic-ing, dogs playing, people enjoying themselves and drinking. There's also cornhole! The food and drink are also amazing! We got the Dragon's Breath with cilantro, chorizo and jalapenos. Cilantro on pizza sounds odd but trust me, it WORKS. Great spot to take a break from nyc. We were sad to hear the Brooklyn location closed during covid but we're fortunate we were able to drive out of the city to New Paltz. When we first arrived, we were able to do a cider tasting, and our server was super friendly and knowledgeable, so we knew exactly which ones we wanted to drink for lunch and take home. It was great being able to hear firsthand how the cider is made and what makes each cider unique. The Kinda Dry cider and rosé cider were our favorites; we also bought extra to take back home. The food was amazing! Highly recommend the dragon's breath pizza that has chorizo, jalapeños, and hot honey. The prices were a little more on par with nyc prices, but the pizzas are definitely worth it. The outdoor seating is super spacious and social distancing friendly with a great view of the lake and orchards. I definitely hope we can make it back out here again soon! read more

Brooklyn Cider House upstate is a true treat for any occassion. I went after a hike in minnewaska and I have to say, I truly had a blast. The property is so relaxing, the views are incredible, and there's plenty of food to keep you satisfied for hours here. I know that many people come here for apple picking, but I was there for the food and bar to hang out. You get this beautiful view of a private poks within the facility and plenty of seating for everybody. The food is good and the cider is tasty too. There is a very limited beer collection here, so be prepared for that. They also do not brew their own, I believe. I had the margherita pizza and the sausage rabe pizza.
