SCAM and Safety #camarillo (video below from our office) Hey all - Contacted a reputable carpet cleaner today. 30 minutes prior to our appointment another company showed up claiming to be them and were upping the charge by 1000 dollars. When the "REAL" Carpet cleaning company approached them as a scammer, the scammers threw hot coffee at the Reputable carpet cleaning guy. Luckily we had the "REAL" carpet company on the phone named (Great company Citrus Fresh Carpet Cleaners) and they told us that scammers show up half an hour prior to a real appointment and pretend to be them. Lesson Learned, always look at paperwork and work shirts from the company doing business with you. BUYER BEWARE- THESE GUYS ARE SCAM ARTISTS!!! They advertise on Living Social - "Carpet Cleaning for Three Rooms and a Hallway Up to 750 Square Feet" for $49.00. They arrive at the house and the technician calls me to say, "oh, you have high traffic areas, it's going to be another $50.00" Really? First of all, my "high traffic areas" are wood, not carpet. Second, who doesn't have "high traffic areas"? I mean, everyone walks in their house. I tell him, I'm not looking for an upgrade, just clean the three rooms. He tells me he's not allowed to do the work unless he gets more money. So he conferences in his boss on the call who tells me the same BS story. Then he says, the living social carpet cleaning doesn't include soap, only steam. Really? Then how were you planning on cleaning the carpets? They wanted $50 extra to use soap. That must be some pretty fancy soap! The boss says that if I don't pay more they won't clean the carpet and they can give me a refund. I tell him, I need the carpets cleaned today, I don't want a refund, I just want them to clean the three rooms per the Living Social Coupon. They refuse. I say fine, you win. I need this done today. So, I'll pay the $50, but I promise you that I will write Living Social, YELP, and BBB about your scam. The boss then hangs up on me. I redial the technician and he doesn't answer. My friend at the house calls me and hands the phone to the technician. I tell him I'll give him my credit card number, just get it done. He says, his boss told him not to talk to me and they cancelled the job and hangs up. The technician, then tells my friend that they're leaving, but another technician will be by in 30 minutes to clean the carpet. Bought a deal on Living Social for 3 rooms and a hallway. We have no carpeted hallway just 3 small bedrooms. One room was empty and the other two just had to work around the bed and a pull out couch. Up charged $70 to spray 2 traffic areas and a few stains. I thought that was a little excessive for an extra 5 minutes work spraying a few areas. Terrible customer service! I had an appointment scheduled this afternoon from 2-4 PM, which I scheduled over two weeks ago. This morning they called to ask if they could come in the morning because they had a cancellation, but I had to decline as the movers were scheduled in the morning and we wouldn't be able to return to Carlsbad until our scheduled time at 2. I confirmed our appointment at that time and got off the phone. However, I assume they must have decided it was too big of an inconvenience to meet us at our scheduled time since they never bothered to show up. At 2:30 my boyfriend texted me to get the number since they hadn't arrived yet. He called and was informed that their machine had broke and they wouldn't be able to come until the next day. I'm not sure how they get in last minute appointments if they only have one machine. I was furious! My boyfriend had rushed the moving company and raced home and they couldn't even be bothered to call and cancel. I tried calling several times, but ended up telling them over voicemail that we wouldn't be doing service with them as no one ever answered the phone. Not only is it an inconvenience that they cancelled, despite being scheduled weeks in advance, but I can't believe they couldn't even give us a courtesy call to let us know.
