Today was the second time I've ordered from here using Uber Eats. I had a good experience with their food the first time so we decided to try again. I ordered the 2 filet catfish and shrimp meal and my husband ordered the chicken tenders meal. I got the green beans and side salad as my two sides. I chose my meat to be blackened. The catfish filets and shrimp were perfectly blackened and had a nice spicy tinge to it. The green beans were well seasoned and tasted good. While I love my green beans cooked with bacon, this one was still pretty good. The side salad was nothing much, but it came with a side of ranch and had a good amount of cheese on it. I previously had the baked dark chicken and it was well baked, the chicken was moist and tasty. My husband enjoyed his chicken tenders and was very happy with his meal. If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. Not because of the way it taste simply because of the customer service that I received. I am a stickler on customer service and every one in the business knows that customer services is what really keeps your customers coming back. The OWNER of the restaurant was very rude and showed no empathy after I waited over 35 minutes for a whitening meal. I remained calm the entire time and watch so many people come and leave out with there food or just left because they where taking so long. After asking the OWNER serval times about my meal she responded with an attitude. I then asked for an refund because I had to leave which I was instructed to stand in line for 6mins. The entire time she didn't apologize or show empathy and act as if she didn't care. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant and I wont refer her to anyone that I know. Went here one Sunday service was slow, semi professional, portion size not worth the price Mc and Cheese burned, still slapped on the plate, the food was scatter on plate to make it appear that you had good portions(NOT). II took my family here last night and it was decent. We dined in. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean. The food was good as well. We had friend chicken, turkey wings, chicken wings, yams, cornbread, collards, and macaroni & cheese. The place can do a few things to improve the experience. The waitress took our drink orders and I was expecting glass, straws, ice, etc. Instead, this lady came back with a can of Sprite and put it on the table. My wife and I looked at each other like really. We had to ask her for a glass and straws. We got some cups with some ice. Keep in mind they charge $1.25 for drinks no refills. This is a 12-ounce can of soda. They can also laminate the menus. They have a piece of paper they hand out for menus and my first thought was is this mess being reused. It doesn't take that much effort to laminate a menu. For the price they charge, the portion size should be a lot bigger. My wife and I still left hungry. For instance, with my meal, they only gave one piece of chicken if you had a breast. I ordered wings instead of breast so I could get more chicken. It is what is, but I wouldn't go back. If I'm paying in the $40 range take my family out to dinner, I just expect basic things like a glass, decent portion sizes, menus that can be wiped off. Owners of restaurants need to realize that consumers are paying for the experience just as much as the food. It wasn't a bad experience but with the choices in Atlanta, I would go to other restaurants "This Is It" instead because the portion size is bigger and the experience is better. read more

I will say that the staff is very friendly but that's about it for me...the food is over priced on most items and the vegetables taste like they were"Glory's" canned brand from the grocery store, especially the green beans. Might be just that day but I know Glory's when I taste them! They were out of four veggies so you didn't have a choice but the beans. The staff had the nerve to ask me for a tip on a take out order...real canny about it too, like "on the next screen you can select your tip amount, I said tip on a to-go order, she said yes, I said ok, but left no tip. Best meatloaf I've ever had. Great collards and black eyed peas on New Years Day. Excellent fried chicken. Top notch fried green tomatoes. Good and sassy fried shrimp. Everything was wonderful. Just what we were craving on a chilly afternoon. We will be back. read more

Went to the location off Glenwood for Mother's Day b/c This Is It restaurant was closed. Restaurant was very clean & the food was amazing. They played R&B music. My BBQ ribs were delicious. Mom loved her fried fish. Collard greens were so delicious. Can't wait to go back. read more

The food was extremely late and cold. The fish taste like it was fried in old grease.! I was very disappointed with this experience.

The food was fresh and the restaurant was very clean. The waitress was very nice and the environment is very laid-back. It took at least 20 minutes for our orders to be taken which is a long time when we were on lunch break and it took at least that amount of time for the food to come out which is a surprise since most of it is buffet. The flavor of the seafood was good however most other items were simply just OK. The vegetables were fresh but they needed more seasoning. I asked the waitress if the lemonade was fresh squeezed and she told me yes but it honestly tasted like something that came out of a can and the color was also the same as other lemonade that came out of a can. I gave this review three stars because the food was fresh, the restaurant was clean and the waitress was nice, however if they season the food more and speed up service I think they could do even better. read more

For starters, the food was disgusting! My brother and I went on the hunt for good food in the area and we were disappointed to say the least. To begin they messed up my order but I had waited so long that I agreed to just take what they gave. When I finally decided to taste the food, the food tasted as if they had been cooked in grease that sat for a week! It was disgusting. Once returning to the restaurant, the lady at the counter called the owner whom refused to give a refund for the food. Overall, there was terrible service and terrible food. I am in the process of planning a sweet 16 party and I was referred to this place by the planner. I had high hopes. I ordered 4 different plates for me and family. I ordered the baked chicken, fried chicken, salisbury steak, and meatloak. I also ordered mac n cheese, okra, garlic mashed potatoes, rice, collard greens, potatoe salad, and fried green tomatotes. The baked chicken was dry, the fried green tomatoes was great, the rice was like the boil in the bag kind with no butter, the collard greens were salty and tasted a little like glory canned greens, but the mac n cheese tasted alright. I sampled the meatloaf and potatoe salad. I didn't care for the meatloaf, but the potatoe salad was decent. I asked my family how everything tasted and they said it was a miss! So I will not use them as a caterer and the likihood that I will return is slim. read more

I live in the area and there aren't any soul food restaurants in the area. I stopped here yesterday and I enjoyed the food. I ordered baked chicken, macaroni n' cheese, and cabbage. I really loved the cabbage, the mac n' cheese was a little bland but I just added a little salt and it was all gone. The baked chicken was tender and cooked well. The service was good and I will definitely return. I hope they are here to stay for a while! read more

On 02/19/17 at 11:35AM I placed an order through grubhub.com. At 1:03PM I called the business to inquire about the status of delivery. I was told by a lady that they were walking out the door right now with the order. I called back at 1:25PM and was told that they were waiting on my grilled cheese to cook. HUH??? WHAT??? You mean that someone is telling lies, and you mean that it's taking almost 2 hours to get my food ready? I told the 2nd lady to cancel, then she said, "Wait, they're almost there with your order. Give them 5 minutes." I had also chatted with grubhub who advised that they were almost there with the food. After 30 minutes of waiting, I called back a few times only to get voicemail each time. I chatted with grubhub again and told her to cancel the order because it's obvious that they're never going to come. I called to speak to a manager; she put me on hold as soon as she picked up the phone. I know that she knew my number by now. I called back; she put me on hold again. I called from another phone number, and as soon as she answered, I said, 'I'd like to speak with a manager about my grubhub order that wasn't delivered." The lady said that manager wants my name and number to call me back. I told the lady that I'll be up there in the next 2 hours to see the manager in person because I don't play with nobody messing over my time. We wasted well over 2 hours waiting on that food. I've been ill for the past 10 days, so I didn't feel like going out. I do feel like going out to confront these liars at We Got Soul though. The food is not worth the VERY VERY VERY VERY long wait or the headache. Needless to say, we won't be going back there again, even if the food was free. read more
