I, a sole female homeowner and RE agent with multiple rental properties in my portfolio called to schedule an estimate and was treated in discriminatory manner as a female. I was asked, repeatedly, 4 times same question that a male homeowner would never have been asked. I would not recommend this company. Male WTP phone rep: -How long have you owned the home? Me: -Why do you ask? Rep: When we come out we want to make sure we are dealing with a homeowner and not the renter. Me: Oh! Yes you are! Rep: Sorry, I didn't get that Me: Yes I am the homeowner. Rep: When we come out we would like to make sure all the homeowners are present. Not only you but also your significant other or whoever you co-own the house with, the other owner. Me: I am very upset now. I have answered your question that I am the homeowner. That should be sufficient. This is discriminatory question to ask further and assume there is a "significant other". It is 21st century and it perfectly normal for a female to own a house alone, without any significant other. I am the sole homeowner, there are no other owners so no need to reask it again. We were finally ready to renovate our backyard and were looking for a reliable contractor. After meeting with several contractors we have decided to drop the project because some of them were trying to pressure us into signing using scare tactics. I feel like this company is a bit sexist. When I scheduled a home visit for a quote, they asked that I make sure my husband would also be there. When I asked why, they said it's because they're old fashion. Okay, whatever. When the rep came over, our newborn started crying, so my husband tended to her while I took the rep around the house. After we completed, I informed the rep that I wasn't going to make a hiring decision in the moment because we had a couple more companies coming over for a quote, and because price was important to us (obviously). His response to me was "I wish your husband could have joined us, so we could've got his opinion." This statement is why we didn't choose to work with this company. I called WTP to do some roofing and window installation and they did a good job with the roofing. There was some confusion and miscommunication on what needed to be done for the windows, but we eventually worked it out and Ben was very much willing to make it right, so that says a lot about the company. Even though I eventually opted out of doing the windows, I would recommend them, just make sure you put everything you want completed in writing so that there is no misunderstanding and I think everything will work out great. read more

We did not use their services. We requested a quote to replace the roof due to water damage from a leak. When they came they got focused on the water damage. They did not even want to discuss the roof. They sent another person on Sunday for the roof. The roof quote was to remove and reinstall the same tile. He stated that the size included waste. I do not understand how there is waste when using the same product. I asked for an itemized proposal so I could understand his process and the waste, he told me no! We only give a bundled price. This was of overdue and for that I apologize to WTP. Ben and company helped get us a new bathroom/laundry room and new solar system installed. He managed to help make the process very cost effective and make sense to us as a major investment. First and foremost, WTP did an amazing job with our garage remodel, bathroom remodel, and fixing an area in our kitchen/mudroom damaged by a leak. 1a. The 3rd party that WTP hired to do the work were professional and timely. We were impressed by their solutions whenever we encountered issues, as well as their attention to detail. For example, there were some chipped tiles they installed in our new walk-in shower. They removed and replaced these individual tiles, and you can't even tell! Special thanks to Jose and Romeo. 1b. In addition to the larger work, WTP also agreed to help us hang our dining room chandelier, change the ceiling fans in some bedrooms, install exterior garage lighting, and install floating shelves in our kitchen. All good work. 2. The second main reason we went with this company is because of the financing options. 2a. Originally, we contacted WTP to fix an area of our home damaged by a leak. Because of insurance involvement, we were required to find a licensed contractor. Since WTP was at our home already, we decided to inquire about redoing our garage. They gave us what sounded like a good deal to add on a bathroom update, which is what we were planning on doing in the future anyway. 2b. The pricing was competitive, not cheaper than other companies. But we didn't have to buy the building materials ourselves, only the finishes. We were able to afford it all thanks to their financing options. 3. The other main reason we decided to work with WTP is because of communication, but this is where we feel they fell short. 3a. We've done work on our house in the past with other contractors, and, while the results were fine, we wish we were communicated with and advised more on matters such as when we would need to have fixtures and furniture arrive, suggestions on what brands or types of parts are best, etc. 3b. During our consultation and signing with WTP, we voiced these concerns and were assured that they would be with us every step of the way to advise and give us a heads-up on the timeline of the project and need-by dates for parts that we had to obtain ourselves. Well, I'm sure there was a timeline, but it was not being shared with us ahead of time. We voiced our dissatisfaction and frustration with how this was going 2-3 weeks into the project, but not much changed. 3c. Most of the communication and instruction was not with WTP but with the 3rd party contractor that was hired to do the work. There were minor hiccups throughout the project, but overall I was happier with the communication and solutions with this 3rd party than with WTP the company. I don't see the purpose of having a project manager if I interfaced directly with the engineers anyway. 3d. At the end of the project, there was a sum of money that we still expected to pay. On a phone call, the price we were told by our project manager to be prepared to pay was $1,500 less than what was due when we met in-person with WTP to close everything out. Overall, we are happy with the results of our garage and bathroom, which is ultimately what it comes down to. The financing options make this company attractive, but when it comes to planning and communication, it's about the same as working with another contractor. read more

After removing the roof Ben updated us that we had a lot of damaged sheeting that needed to be replaced in order for the roof to pass the rough inspection. We had a tough time with our insurance and they hired an independent inspector to evaluate the damage to our house.
