absolutely loved the strange and dim aesthetic of this bar. it's a small bar, very intimate and full of events on a day to day basis. some days they do karaoke, open mics, and other social events (i was there for a millennials singles mixer). the bartenders are super sweet and attentive! one guy i met there mentioned going to the bar specifically to socialize and catch up with them, because they're that cool. glad i discovered this spot through the event since im new to the area. it's the perfect place to come hang by yourself or with a friend. they are also in business with a spot next door (i believe it's called the brixton) and you can order food. they bring it to you, which was a plus.

Lots of events going on each week also.

Such a fun and eclectic themed bar. I've been here for the different seasonal decorations, and they have their signature giant skeleton that is a great picture opportunity. From gothic to whimsical, it's a great place to meet up with friends or a first date. I also inquired and they rent the space for any type of celebration you want. They have a nice variety of soju cocktails, beers, wines, and mocktails for the sober drivers. If you get hungry, they also offer food ordering available for the Brixton. Another awesome thing about this place is all the events they always have here. When you're bored and want to be entertained, they have game night, trivia night, comedy, open mic, dating, karaoke, and even different industry networking. Basically something for everyone. In addition, they have 5 big screen TVs to catch the sport of the season. The vibe is neighborhood chill, with a welcoming feel for anyone coming into this side of town. Parking: meters which are free after 6pm, as well as a small shared lot in the back. Prices: $6-$16 Food: available for order Drink options: beer, wine, soju cocktails, mocktails Atmosphere: friendly bartenders, a cosmopolitan mix of people, fun place to hang with friends, meet new ones, or find a partner

As a local I have loved walking down to get my favorite drink, the Painkiller, at my favorite local bar. Last night was more than disappointing. Walked in to a guy and girl (Faith) behind the bar. We were not greeted. Even walked around to the other side of the bar to see if they would take our order. Had to walk to the other side again to get their attention. They were too busy talking to each other, took 4 shots and rolled 2 blunts before we even got a drink. The girl "left early" and according to the guy that kept complaining about her and how she left a mess. He was slamming glassware and even splashed us with something as he was closing a lid, which he didn't apologize for. The The guy then proceeded to leave the bar unattended and go smoke...TWICE. He came back reeking of smoke. We usually have a couple of drinks and enjoy the atmosphere, but we couldn't stand it anymore and closed our tab. It was Friday and usually there is karaoke, but nothing was happening. Everyone was leaving. To top it off he had charged us wrong. The sign said the special was $12 and we got charged $15. We didn't even try to argue it, we paid and left. We will most likely have to find a new local bar to go to.

An ideal spot for a small, close-knit group of friends! The owner is very responsive and welcoming. I love the concept of providing a space for different group games and parties -- the atmosphere really puts you in a fun mood. It's also super convenient that you can bring your own food or order directly from the bar from the restaurant next door. For now, it's a nice, quiet place where you can actually talk and enjoy each other's company. A hidden gem!

The coolest bar and best bartender. Fun vibes, good music, and a lot of games! We got here right when it opened but usually it's packed!

Came here for what was supposed to be an event but it was just hanging out & nothing going on. I ordered off of the Valentine's Day special cocktail menu - Lychee Lovers - but it was 100% not lychee. It was pinkish & same taste/texture as guava juice. I love guava so that's fine but I love lychee even more so I was disappointed. The cocktail was really too sweet. My girlfriend ordered the Chocolate Martini also on the Valentine's Day special menu. It was drizzled with chocolate & topped with Ferrero Rocher chocolate with mini marshmallow on a little pick! Looked like a chocolate lover's ultimate dream come true! The bartenders were really attentive and super nice. They made you feel comfortable & welcome! They also let us know we could order food from the Brixten, gave us that menu & let us know Brixten actually will walk over the food. We didn't get anything but good to know. This is very much a small neighborhood, dive/hip (if you can call it that), eclectic hangout. There were people just sitting at tables, reading their books while having a drink & eating Brixten food. It's unpretentious & super laid back. I thought the colorful strings of light added a nice touch to the ambience. However, I couldn't figure out if they were trying to go for a pirate's cove kinda theme or they just didn't take down the huge skeleton & other Halloween type decorations. Noise level was decent so you can have conversations without having to scream over the music. This would be a good place to just go hang & watch a game on their big screens. But I wouldn't really recommend it for a romantic date night. I really liked that they had several mocktails (non-alcoholic drinks) to choose from. Since they only serve beer, wine & cocktails made with soju, if you're looking for a fancy cocktails & drinks, this is not it. Prices were good. My Lychee Lovers was $16, Guinness on tap was $10(?). Wines varied from $14 & up. They have different things happening every night - Fridays are Karaoke, Saturdays are Singles Night, I forgot to take a picture of the lit-up board that had it all written down. Overall, good value & like they say on "Cheers," a place where everybody knows your name.

This is a cool bar, it's really laid back and they have a lot of games to play around the bar with a karaoke on the projector. The bar tender was helpful in their drink selection. It's a pretty cool bar if you want to have a drink and play some games with friends. The have a good amount of cocktails and beers on tap.

I love this place! Came here for the Summer I Turned Pretty viewing party. The place is so cute and full of character and life ! The indoor decor is so fun. They had big screen tvs and amazing sound to watch a show or whatever they willl be playing next. They are so friendly. The staff is amazing! You can order food from the place next door. They are super accommodating and sweet! I love it ! I'm definitely coming back!

I've been here a few times and I've always had a good time. I especially love all the events they do. There's a good tap selection and atmosphere is so cool. When I do come in here I sometimes just sit and stare at all the decorations. There are games, tvs, nice bartenders and just a general cool vibe. Highly recommend.

This is such a fun bar! Came here with a friend on a Friday night to catch some drinks. We were pleasantly surprised by the whole venue. When you walk in, the place has a quirky vibe to it with multiple pictures of clowns, a huge skeleton and other interesting art that will quickly catch your eye. On one side of the place, there's multiple game options such as giant jenga, giant connect four, uno and other games. The bar area is a good size and the bartenders were amazing. They were super personable and quickly caught our attention to take our drink orders. Most of the menu is Soju based drinks which I found pretty interesting. I will definitely be back!

Most of the bars are dive bars in downtown Santa Monica, and parking is quite accessible for this place. So I'd recommend for that reason. In terms of the drinks, I'm a huge fan of cocktail but I would say their menu selections are a bit limited. Nothing in the signature cocktail looks interesting to me, so I had the bartender make a classic cocktail instead. He's very attentive and friendly, didn't take forever to get a drink either, no attitude. Drinks aren't watered down either. Nice! You come here to grab quick drinks when you don't feel like being at a loud dive bar in the area, it's in a hotel but not too upscale, no strict dress code. Music is not loud and they have couches and booth if bar table if not your thing, you don't have to yell or pretend you hear everything to hold a conversation here (lol). ** Keep in mind 20% gratuity is automatically included in bill, it's my first time here. But I think I've other spots I'd prefer to be in, even at Santa Monica. Wouldn't be self-motivated to come back because there are better places that specialises mixology, and there are also better upscale hotel bars to be at. But if you're around the area it's a great intimate bar for date night that's not overly pricey. Wouldn't travel all the way to here just for this (if you know what I mean).

Our server, Murray, was so patient with us and was amazing all around. We were very indecisive and he gave us great recommendations, and was attentive, welcoming, and when needed, gave us our space to enjoy the meal. Thank you, Murray! We started with the Rye me a River cocktail and the Mezcal cocktail which were both perfect for our tastes. My mezcal drink was beautiful with a black salt rim and beautiful Smokey flavor (along with the word Chelsea spelled out on my ice cube). My friend loved his Rye me a River cocktail. For food, we started with the oysters and lobster sliders which I don't get a picture of, but they were both great!!! The lobster sliders were actually my favorite bite of the whole meal. My friend devoured the oysters, he loved them so much. We then had the boar ragu tagliatelle which was excellent. It was sweeter than most ragus that I've had, but that was my friend's favorite dish of the whole night. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly, absolutely perfectly, and the pistachio crust was delicious. We ordered steak frites and asked that the fries be truffle fries, which they kindly accommodated. So glad we asked because the truffle fries were delicious, they came with a cilantro dipping sauce that was delectable! The steak itself was cooked perfectly, and the gravy accompaniment was an excellent complement to the steak. We also got the peanut butter and chocolate turnover for my friend's birthday. Yall, it was SO good! It really exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back! My friend was so happy with his birthday meal!!
