Goodness we always have our happy hours here and we love this place! The food is really delicious. Honestly the food and the service keeps us coming back. There was a female waitress that gave me coworker a little attitude but it was my friends fault for confusing and asking another waiter for help. The onions rings are my absolute favorite. They have mini burgers too that we absolutely love. They have a wedge salad that is 12/10. The Mac and cheese is a bit dry but still delicious. The ceviche is also fresh and tasty. The drinks are amazing, they are priced fairly and even after 08pm they are still priced fairly. I'm not sure who the owner is but he was chill. There was also another gentleman who helped us out as we were DYING of heat in our little corner and he came by and gave us an electric fan. He definitely went out of his way and accommodated us. I went to The Rosegold Saloon last night with some pals. We had never been to it before. The lighting, seating, and music stood out to me. I got a Watermelon cocktail. We hung out at the bar for some time then moved to a booth. I enjoyed most of our time there, but there were some odd interactions with staff. I thought it was odd that we got carded at the bar by a doorman instead of at the door. Also, near closing time we were shouted at twice about the last call for drinks. Also, around closing time a staff member came over to our table and yelled that we had to leave and that he will get fired whilst clearing our table. I told him we were waiting on our friend to leave since they went had just gone to the restroom. He said he understood. Upon him stepping away briefly and then returning to clear more items from our table, I asked him to not shout at us as it was our first time visiting the place. He didn't respond. I went here for a meet up and because I was hungry. There was a special event for a meet up. I signed up on the list, and the "bouncers" were so nice. I got there at 9:15 & the special event started at 9, because again I'm old and hungry. The place use to be SF saloon which was more divey but with the lights and the new decor, definitely looking more upscale. I ran into an old friend, bartender, Matt. Love you, Matt! He's alway been the best attentive bartender I know. I was happy to see he picked up this special event. There was another lovely bartender named Rachel, who was such an absolute darling. Everyone was extremely nice. I was recommended the crispy ahi bites, and it was so good, I would have licked the hosein sauce off the plate, but I'm a lady so I withheld the urge. On a recent night out of bar hopping, my buddies and I came to this saloon to have a drink as we were making our way from Santa Monica toward the Hollywood area. Parking was found adjacent to the building, and finding a spot was no problem despite a busy night for them. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. The place was busy, but clean and decent. Being a fan of coffee drinks, I decided on a coffee old fashioned. Sure enough, the drink was delicious and exceeded my expectations. The bartender made the drink strong enough, yet it went down smoothly. My boodies and I had our drinks and chatted a bit before we moved on to the next establishment. This place is a gem. Went here again to meet some friends on a Saturday night. They have a dj on Saturdays. There's also one on Friday night. Even though it was busy, the service was great. Somebody would come and check on us. Anyways, about the food. I tried the waffle fries with the aioli sauce it came with and it was delicious. I ordered the Bolognese pasta that was good but not what I expected. The sauce was a bit creamy and tasted like it had a bit of cod roe in it? I say this because I love Japanese cod roe pasta. :) I also tried the nachos. It was good. For the first time I tried a deep fried Oreo. It was interesting. Interesting because the batter on the outside tasted like a Japanese tempura which gave my taste buds the illusion I was about to eat Japanese tempura but when I chewed it for two seconds, it was like a nice warm fluffy chocolate cake. But was it good? I would say it still was. The s'mores was good and very huge. There's a lot of good food here I have tried so far and the service has been good the past couple of times I have been here. They also have a lot of food and drink specials that are a lower price after 7pm. read more

This is a great local bar and restaurant. The cocktails are made well, the food is excellent. The atmosphere is a chill vibe, nice people working there. My friends and I love going there because it's very welcoming. The owner Drew is very attentive to every. One of my favorite experiences was one night it started pouring rain, then the lightning came. Drew opened all the windows up so all of us could take in the experience. Heater was on so it was comfortable and I must add it made out to be quite a romantic atmosphere. This is one memory that sticks in my mind and made me love this place even more special. Good for families (selections kids would like), gathering after work, or brunch. The menu is definitely a bar menu, but is deep enough to satisfy pretty much anyone. Our selections: Brussels sprouts chips; Grilled cheese sliders; Saloon sliders; Filet mignon bites; Chinese chicken salad (with sliced chicken breast); Fried Oreos. I'm torn on my star rating for Rosegold, because the ambiance is great, the drinks were good, and the service was top notch. Everyone was really nice and checked in to make sure everything was good. They even sent over shots of a drink we were debating about. Great customer service. My disappointment is with the food. I realize the days the of the San Francisco Saloon menu are long gone, but the grilled cheese sliders were severely lacking in my opinion. Perhaps I should have read the menu more closely, but ciabatta does not scream grilled cheese. A nice toasty sourdough though.... There was one lonely piece of cheddar, no jack cheese and definitely no cheese pull. I don't think there was any avocado either. It was more of a caramelized onion sandwich to me. The tomato soup dipping sauce was literally the size of a thimble, which also made it hard to dip. Change the bread, up the cheese and add a small bowl of tomato soup and you would have a lovely snack. Would I be back: for drinks, yes. I was there early on a Saturday and it was low key. I get the impression they may have a DJ on the weekends and it get can get dance-y. Bonus: great drinks, fantastic service, parking! Bogus: mediocre food. We were so sad to see Arsenal on the West Side close. It was our happy hour go-go, with great drinks and bar food at fantastic prices. But Covid shutdowns and greedy landlords did a lot businesses in. So we were thrilled when the owners opened Rosegold Saloon, updating the interior and creating a whole new menu (it was a bar before, too). Happy hour here is now one of our happy places. Food is good, drinks well made, prices not totally unreasonable (!). Atmosphere is chill even on weekends. The only thing that would improve it for us is if there were no TVs. We detest TVs in bars, especially when there isn't even a big game going. Otherwise we say check it out. read more
