They pitch sub par deals on couches, then they also pitch the warranty and how they have people in Los Angeles that come down to fix there cheap built furniture. Well, I had so much issues with leather couches I purchased there. I would call because of bad stitching and brackets always breaking apart. They take so long to send someone so the warranty period runs out. They had some nerve to send the sales guy that sold me couches to begin with to sew and fix couches, stitching was horrible came apart a week later. All of a sudden my warranty expired and here I am stuck with cheap and underbuilt couches. Stay far away from this place, they promise sunshine and great service and lie to your face. read more

Very untrustworthy and shady store! Heads up buyers, take pictures of tags and furniture and make sure they put the right quantity on sale's note. I found a 6 stools and table dining at the store. It said on the ad that it was 7 pieces and was on sale because it was the last one. When I paid for it the girl told me to see for scratches or anything wrong with it because it was final sale for being the last one, so I did. What I didn't do was taking a picture of the ad or tag saying the quantity of pieces and on my sale's note the girl just wrote 1 table 1 stool. When the delivery man came he just brought 4 stools so I asked him and he said they just put 4 on his note, so I called the store and they told me to come over to see what they could do for me. Today I went and I actually found the two stools I am missing. I spoke with a sale's person and a very rude old lady from the area you are charged and they didn't want to give them to me because someone wrote with a black pen 4 stools after the transaction was made. Although the note said "As it is" and there were 6 stools and a table, a black pen number is more credible than a customer. They were very quick to offer to sell them to me tho. Got a good deal on a chaser couch but the timeline to get it and being updated on delivery time is horrible. I ordered the couch first week of December and was told that the couch would be delivered by mid January. Come January 17th I called twice and confirmed my cell phone number and was told I'd get a call back. After a week I never got a call back, once I did reach someone they said they've been calling me several times but they called wrong number, that was even after I confirmed my cell phone number when I called. When asking what the delay is, they said that now my couch won't get deliver till mid-late February. In my opinion, the lack of updating me and timeline to wait is unacceptable and poor customer service. read more

WARNING WARNING WARNING! On 11/7/2014 I purchased 2 recliners (All American Brand) from Weatherby's Furniture at 620 Chester, Bakersfield, for $699.95 each. I had some reservations about the pulley system that operated the reclining on these chairs. Asked the salesgirl (employee ID B-11) about the warranty, she said she didn't know and would check with her manager. She disappeared and then came back and told us they had a 3 year parts and labor warranty, so that reassured us. After 2 years and 3 months of course 1 of the chairs failed. My wife spoke to Evelyn in the office at the store who quoted the warranty was 90 days labor and 1 year parts. So either the salesgirl flat out lied or the manager lied or both. So take it from someone who knows- find another furniture dealer. TOTALLY cheated 2 old school senior citizens who believed a persons word was truth. read more

Walked in and the manager was yelling at an employee right in the middle of the sales floor. I felt so bad for her. Then they lied to us and told us our furniture would be there the next week. Then after we signed all the paper work and left the store. They call us and tell us we owe $200 more because they added wrong. I spoke to the manager Gene and he said that they would honer the original paper work but then asked me" if I felt comfortable taking advantage of their mistake, especially around the holiday(Easter)". I could not believe the nerve of him to even say that to me. Worst customer service I have ever received. It's been 3 weeks and I still haven't received my new furniture. I completely regret purchasing a sofa set here, I, for whatever reason, forgot to look at yelp first but now that I've purchased something from this TERRIBLE business I see why they have bad reviews on Yelp and Google. However, at the time I thought it would be best to buy local. First off, when the sofas were delivered one of the sofas already had some chips and tears. called about that and if you want fast service, well good luck with that. They take days to get back to you and that's if you take the time to harass them. Then 3 DAYS after initially getting the set, our sofa was already sinking, long story short they tried feeding me some bull about that being normal; um no. After essentially losing my sh*t on them they agreed to replace the cushions. This took over a month of calling and arguing. I got my sofas months ago, they're starting to sink again and they were not cheap (price wise anyways). I bought the rest of my furniture online and other places instead because of their terrible service and overpriced furniture. My mother bought sofas from an online site and she's had hers a while now, have they started to sink? No and they were cheaper. Lesson learned. My husband is 87 and also dealing with brain cancer. Tuesday night (Aug. 20) he found himself unable to get out of his chair in the living room. We struggled off and on again for over an hour to get him up. He is able to walk with his walker, but, obviously, he needs to be able to get up to do so. We ended up calling the fire department to help him, and one of the firemen told me about lift chairs. The next day I googled for local vendors. I first went to Medi Stop. They had only two floor models to choose from and nothing in stock. I was told the soonest they could get a chair to Bakersfield was Sept. 6. Weatherby's was my next stop. They had a great selection of lift chairs. A wonderful salesperson, Carla, not only answered all my questions, she provided information I would not have thought to ask about. She is clearly an expert on these chairs. I chose a chair, and she said it could be delivered the next day. I then told her about having to call the fire dept. the previous night and asked if there was any chance we could get it that day. She went and asked, and the answer was yes. I left the store at 2:30. I had no idea when the chair would be delivered yesterday. They came an hour and ten minutes later. We were thrilled. The deliverymen were friendly and efficient and assembled the chair and made sure everything was set up as it should be. Getting it that day was such a huge help and stress reliever for us, and getting it that quickly was fantastic. My husband loves the chair, and we both love the service we got. (And the chair came with a warranty for more peace of mind.) read more

Weatherby's is going to be your best bet for furniture, as far as customer service goes. Go look at Mor and Ashley's reviews here on Yelp, not good at all! (And the other review on here for Weatherby's is regarding the finance department which is a completely different company, the review doesn't belong here.) Communication could be better, though. So remember that if you ask them to call before hand their is no guarantee that you will get a phone call. They work hard to get the furniture to you as soon as possible. I think we got a decent deal on my daughters full sized bedroom set. Their was some dings here and there and their was an area where the wood was "splintering". So make sure you check it really good. Unfortunately we were out of town when the furniture came in and my father in law accepted the furniture as it was. All and all we are happy. With the choices we have in Bakersfield for furniture, I'd likely go back to Weatherby's. read more

I gave it away ($1500) mattress to a friend and I must say that the chateau collection is one of the best quality mattresses out there for the price. I bought other mattresses from other places and have been very disappointed. If there was a no star choice I would give it no stars. My mother was delivered a defective couch and they gave her a hard time about it. Then they finally sent someone out to check it and did agree that it was defective. They gave her the choice of replacing it with a different couch because they no longer make that couch or have it fixed. She said no I would rather get refund. They keep telling her that they don't do that and that she can pick out another couch. We kept arguing with them and they said they would take back the couches with a 20% restocking fee. We have bought for years and have loved all the furniture except our last purchase of Transformer couch set. 3 months after getting it it started flaking, couchions under recliners falling out. Flaking everywhere. One call back after 3 months but no return calls. Was fed up after a year and has taken over 4 months for them to come get a small part of it to fix its all falling apart. 4000 down the drain and they act like they are doing me a favor after 1 year. Spent $1900.00 on sectional couch 10 months ago. Since then 1 recliner had cable and pad replaced. The recliner was returned with a different colored stitching. When the recliner was returned I mentioned the rest of the couch has broken down as well. You sit down and can feel the framework underneath. The power source I'm armrest was replaced. The manager called me today and told me there is nothing they can do. Watch what you buy from Weatherbys from our experience it's just really expensive junk. My husband and I went to purchase a bedroom set, we were told 6 weeks for delivery at the time of purchase and are now being told at least 120 days... when we asked for our money back we were told that the bedroom set was "special ordered" for us and that we would be charged a 20% restocking fee ( for a $4500 set), yet our salesman Robert told us that it was already on order when we were looking at it!!!! ABSURD!!!! I went into Weatherby's and purchased a large and expensive dining table. When the delivery was made the item arrived defective. The delivery guy noticed the issue with the leaf extensions as well but was unable to fix it. I called the store to have the item serviced and it took them 2 days to call me back to even schedule out a service call. I tried explaining what the issue was with the table and everyone I spoke with just kept saying, thats just how the table is made. We were needing the dining table for a party that following week. I went into the store to see what could be done and to my surprise, I find out that I was given a floor model without my consent. I paid for a new item! By that time my husband and I were just not happy with the purchase. Unfortunately, when I made the purchase I did not read the fine print that states a 20% restocking fee would be applied if the item is returned. Which is absolutely absurd especially since they sold me a used item. Ended up giving them $500 because I decided to buy a $2,500 table. So just because I purchased something nicer means I have to pay them more. If I would have bought the less expensive table, yet same size I would've given away less money? It makes no sense. I was told I could swap the table for something else and I wouldn't be charged the 20%. Unfortunately, by that time we were completely fed up. And then I got an even bigger slap to the face, the manager decided I would be getting a delivery fee as well as a pickup fee, even though that is not in the contract at all. Very deceitful! This is the absolute worst place to by furniture. Purchased a $2000+ Broyhill couch for my mother, within 6 months the springs in the cushions were broken, and the wood under the couch broke. The upholstery frayed even on the sides! I called left messages, talked to several people with little help, except for the sarcasm and unprofessional attitudes. Service managers were just as rude and unhelpful. They explained their position and when I asked about the customer service end of it, she said the "customer has to deal with it". Nice! When asked to be called weekly for an update she said it would be pointless, and became even more sarcastic. I am usually not a complained, but I contacted the BBB on this one. Weatherbys in Bakersfield CA sent me the floor models, i tried to send them back and they didn't want to replace them nor give me my money back. I purchased a very expensive dresser from this place recently. Unfortunately it was damaged. Apparently, it was a manufacturer defect. I called in to explain how my dresser drawer would not open it was completely smashed in. The salesman was great but had no control how the Manager or supervisor runs this place. The supervisor was a total jerk! He didn't care about making a customer happy. He had his money from my purchase already since I paid off my purchase. Instead he wanted to charge me a delivery fee for their mistake! It was not my fault I was given a defected dresser. Apparently, on top of all the money I had already spent I needed to pay again for something they should inspected prior to sending this out to a customer. So I asked how I can get my money back and the supervisor just said "ok how did you pay? I can credit it back to your card." As if he could absolutely careless about my situation or customer satisfaction. This place is dirt! They don't care about customers at all. Once they have your money they run with it and you are S.O.L if anything is damaged. Be careful with this place. Went this evening looking for a bed and upon entering we were immediately approached by the nicest, knowledgeable sales men I have ever dealt with, his name was Rolphe. He was sooooo nice and friendly and he was asking us all the right questions and told us the truth with looking at specific mattresses. He didn't bug us and followed up with us even after helping other customers. We decided we would wait until the next day and return with my mom, well she decided we should go back this evening and we did just that. We went back and were eager to work with our great salesman Rolphe but were told he had left for the day. We were approached by another friendly gentleman named Sam who picked up right where Rolphe left off. Instead of the original bed we liked we found another and decided that was the one so we like so we purchased it, also keeping in mind our original salesman by showing them his card and seeing to it he was recognized for his OUTSTANDING service. No stars on my partthumbs down... I wish I had read reviews from weatherby's furniture before I decided to order my dining set from them!! I order my dining set from a catalog back in October of 2015 after a long disappointing wait finally was delivered on February 2016. Delivery workers brought my dining set in my house so dirty and damage when I order it the chairs where white leather & they arrived at my house with rips, stains, & black dirty hand prints my husband had to clean then all. Our table was also dirty and the wood had a few scratches areas. Managers, sales people and office workers has no idea how to handle this type of situation they all said the same thing and try to gave us the run around just to avoid to deal and solve our problem!! Went yesterday again to see what's going with the damage chairs that they suppose to replace, and the one that where supposed to be delivered two weeks ago and there answer again was nonsense nobody knew anything about it!! I purchased a mattress at Weatherby's that took me 45 minutes to decide on. On delivery day AFTER I had old bed hauled off and AFTER delivery had called to set up a time, Weatherby's called to tell me oops! my bed was sent elsewhere but there was an upgraded one on the truck I could have, however once it is off the truck it is final. They had a queen instead of a full that they could bring but I would have to pay the difference. Bad business!!! instead of crediting the $80 for THEIR mistake and giving me what I decided on, they lost a customer and this experience will be shared. read more

This review is regarding the finance part of the business. My husband and I purchased a dining room set over the Labor Day weekend. We had the money to pay it cash but we were offered 12 months no interest if we financed through them. We decided to do it as we had just purchased a new home and had a lot of expenses coming up and decided to keep our cash on hand. During the application process everything went great and the lady processing our application happily informed us we had been approved for $3,000. We signed all the paperwork and went on our way. 3 weeks later we received 2 different cards and letters from the same bank stating on one we had $1,000 limit and on the 2nd one we had $3,000 limit. I decided to call the finance company and after being on the phone for over 30 minutes with them, sure enough there were 2 seperate accounts opened under our name by Weatherby's. I called Weatherby's and spoke with the finance manager (I can't remember her name.) First she said she wasn't sure why they had set up 2 different accounts but after looking at our file she was able to determine because our purchase price was $1183 and the first time they ran our credit we only got approved for $1000, they decided to run it through a different program; the second time we got approved for $3,000. First of all, never once did they mention we had been approved for $1000 only nor that they were going to run our credit a second time to see if we qualified us for more. We had cash to pay the differece, therefore, we did not need any extra credit amount or was there a need to run our credit AND open a 2nd account! I want to help people not lose there money to this place.Let me tell you why.My mom bought an expensive table and coaches from here.The coaches are great but the table top is like a marble type .They guarantee you that you have 1 year of warranty to cover furniture if anything happens. Well not even 6 months when we notice the table was getting horrible type of spots all over the table top marble and the color of the "marble" was turning orange like huge type of bloches in some parts.My mom called and they said they will have someone come look at it.Well they did come and they keep making excuses as in why it looks that way.They said they would call in a week or two.Yeah right!! My mom NEVER heard from them so she went down and apparently after they reviewed her table that supposedly out of all the furniture in the store that table my mom baught isn't covered by warranty even though a few weeks back they said they did.what a huge joke! Manager is horrible here he didn't want to help out just kept making excuses and said that they know the top doesnt have a protected coat on the table but they can't do anything about it. went there and filled out two seperate applications. they took our drivers licsense and our debit card to put into the application. we found a 900 dollar couch and said lets do the paper work. Before the lady even showed us the terms and contract and before we signed or agreed to anything they ran the debit card for 128 dollars. then we said no to that and they sent it to a bank who took another 136 dollars out. they told us in the end that the couch would total 4000 dollars. we told them to give us our stuff back but they said it could take weeks for the money to go back on card. we never agreed to anything before they were just using our card like a shopping spree. we are actually going to talk to a lawyer since we never gave them any permission to use the card really pushy bad service. read more
