When will I learn my lesson to stop trusting dealerships? Well, when I went to Weatherford, I thought I found the right dealership with the right contacts (Joe Combs - Sales & Eleni Simitzi-Wright - Finance). Keep in mind, this is the 4th car I bought and I've purchased from Lodi Honda, Concord Lexus, Dublin Volkswagen prior to Weatherford BMW. I was prepared to set this dealership as the one dealership I can stand by moving forward, buy future cars here as well as bring co-workers and family here. Sadly enough, this is not gonna happen in the future with Weatherford. My buying experience was fantastic, however. 1 star for that. Joe Combs was quick with negotiations and helped me found a deal that I liked. Despite not knowing there was a 0% APR offer for used 2017 X3, it's all good since that's my fault for missing that. Got the deal done, everything was great. Eleni was a sweetheart in doing the finances. 1 star for that. At this point, you're reading this and you're like, ok Marco, wtf is the problem? Well here's my problem. I take building long term relationships seriously. Once these folks sell you something, I recently found out that you no longer exist to them. What I found promising with these folks is how "genuine" they were when they said to contact them for anything I need or questions I have. Again, I recently found out how fake those "gestures" were. How? Well, I texted Joe to inquire about obtaining my notice of liability transfer which I needed to cancel the warranties I had on my Golf R that I traded to them. No reply. I called Eleni. No call back. It's been 1 week now, and I never heard back. I mean, if you can't help, then follow up. In my previous life, I was in Sales and the key to establishing long term business relationship was the follow up. No follow up whatsoever. Follow up even to tell me you can't help me. "Customer service" here is poor. Maybe if I bought a 5 or 7 series it may have been different... But lesson learned. Won't be buying from here. Really unfortunate as I really like the location and the people, but not worth the BS. Anyway, tomorrow my sister and I are going to BMW Concord to check out some new cars. Three service advisers later, here's what the rules appear to be when one's vehicle is in for service: 1. Weatherford loaner vehicles, when available, are for use when a vehicle under warranty is in for service 2. $45 rentals are available via Enterprise, which doesn't open until 8am, although Weatherford service appointments start at 7am 3. Weatherford will cover the price of a Lyft to one's home if within a certain proximity to their business, and a return Lyft trip back to retrieve one's car. read more

By far the worst customer service experience I've ever had at a dealership. By the end of the visit, I was yelled at by the Sales Manager (Andrew Lam) who was trying to lecture me on how negotiations are out of place and was asking that I do a google search for the competitor prices I was mentioning in front of him (how is this acceptable??), in a very condescending and unprofessional manner too. When he yelled "WE HAVE NO DEAL" to my face in an awkward situation where I was seated and he was standing right in front of me, I stood up and left feeling extremely uncomfortable. I never raised my voice to him and tried to explain everything but really regret doing so because no customer deserves such treatment. Being an ethnic young woman I felt personally attacked by this guy who wasn't even our Sales Rep to start with but for some reason joined the conversation when we requested the cost information and its breakdown. Instead of having a conversation with us, Andrew came to "talk us out" of our understanding of a healthy negotiation and completely broke that tiny bridge of trust that we have established at that point with our sales rep. I was excited to work with this particular dealership given its location and inventory. Perhaps I did not strike Mr. Lam as a serious customer and he did not feel to bother to communicate with me properly as a seasoned sales representative would have but I really do not recommend going to Weatherford. Su was more than helpful in helping me driving my dream car home. She was very patient and worked really hard to get me the deal I want. I was able to drive my car home in less than two business days after we settled on the selling price. She is also very experienced with international students on an F-1 visa. The dealership, however, was the reason for the missing star. They said that they "made a mistake" when pricing the car and refused to honor their initial price. Unknowingly, I used their initial offer as the benchmark for price negotiation and was very frustrated during my experience with other dealers. Update: I appreciate the response from Weatherford to my review. It has now been about three months since my initial visit. There was a full lot of unsold i3s. This is not why I was consistently steered toward a used vehicle. ******** We are in the market for an electric car. Preferably a smaller electric car as parking in and around Berkeley can be tough. It will be an around town car for us. Therefore the i3 was on my list of cars to test drive. It is an expensive car to be sure, but we like German engineered cars and the i3 fit that criteria quite nicely. I walked into Weatherford and was greeted in a friendly way. The a sales person was assigned to me and I described what I was interested in. It became clear almost immediately that I knew more about the i3 than the sales person. He was also very reluctant to go for a test drive with me. He repeatedly talked about a used car being a better option for me, which I was open to, but it was not my reason for coming in to the dealership. After 45 minutes of questions about how I wanted to finance the car (read: can I really afford this car), looking at the 4 used options ad nauseum (read: you can't really afford a NEW i3 can you?) I was allowed to view the dozens of i3s on the lot. We looked at them for a while discussing the expense of the options (still stuck on my ability to pay for said car). Finally, we settled on a car to test drive and I stood around for at least 15 minutes while he retrieved the keys. We drove the car around to the office area where he took my license to copy for the test drive. Another 5-10 minutes. I was allowed to drive the car for about 5 minutes, down to the racetrack and back. It is a lovely car. It is comfortable, well designed,and responsive. I especially liked the incredible visibility in all directions and the available legroom I know my tall husband needs. But this isn't a review of the i3, it is a review of Weatherford BMW. I left after being told to look online at the various options they had in stock even though I expressed an interest in getting numbers on the car to take home to share with my husband. The sales person reluctantly gave me a requested business card he had to go to his desk to retrieve. He had my number because i gave it at the front desk when I walked in. I came in several months ago and haven't heard a peep from them. No calls, no emails. Compare that to the other electric vehicle dealers I visited who call me twice a week and email me 3-4 times a week. It is clear to me that I was pegged as someone who couldn't afford this car as soon as I walked through the door. I can afford it and said that multiple times in multiple ways. They had no evidence that I can't afford it other than my appearance in non designer jeans and a blouse. I don't wear makeup nor do I have a fancy haircut. I am just an average middle aged white woman with an engineering degree from Cal. I am smart, articulate, and well informed plus I had obviously done my research on the car. Feels like overt classism and shoddy judgement to me. Sham on you Weatherford! Shame! We may still get an i3. If we do it will not be from Weatherford. read more

I asked what maintenance is done at 30,000 miles, and even that question could not be answered. After visiting this location for service for my BMW multiple times and being disappointed by the quality of care, I'm done. Today, I had an appointment scheduled for an oil change. I arrived promptly at 7:40 only to be informed that a simple oil change would take multiple days. Without a simple apology, the representative told me they were backed up and had been for several days now. What's the point of making an appointment? Appointments are supposed to work both ways- to let the business know you're coming AND to let the customer know when to expect service. It seems like a one way street here. On a previous visit to this location for routine service, I was informed that my car was ready for pickup, only to wait in the lobby for hours- hours!- for the car to actually be given to me, again without an apology. It was only after I repeatedly flagged someone for help that they brought the car around for me to take. For a luxury car dealership, the service center does not seem to do the one thing they are charged with doing- provide quality service. Avoid. read more

Where do I begin. It's been a few business days plus a weekend since I picked up my car, so I have had time to cool off. I am still very disappointed in the car, Weatherford and BMWUSA. Took my BMW 328dx in for a recall of the EGR Cooler and Intake Manifold. I wish I could say that is the end of the story. Soon after check engine light comes on with codes for the EGR valve being stuck open. Great. Took the car on a trip to Las Vegas and the fuel system imploded sending metal throughout the entire fuel system. Las Vegas independent mechanic quoted around $8,000 for total replacement of the fuel system. I towed the car back to Weatherford for an official diagnostic. Catastrophic HPFP failure necessitating the replacement of the entire fuel system. Repair quote upwards of $18,000 with a 100% markup on parts ABOVE MSRP. Quote to drain metal contaminated diesel from fuel tank about $470! Here is the best part. When I got the car back from the $220 diagnostic they had gotten black dust and oil all over the B pillar between the front and rear doors on my beige interior. They also left the rear bench seat completely disconnected in the back seat. I don't fault the Service Advisor beyond actually looking at the car prior to delivery to the customer. This experience along with BMWUSA's indifference to their design flaw-allowing a pump to supply fuel to a fuel system without filtration. I will never forget what the call center rep told me, 'I'm so sorry you are going through this.' So am I. I bet my next car purchase that Mercedes will treat me way better and take better care of the car should it require service. When it rains on a customers car you can count on Weatherford to make it pour with their exorbitant markups on parts and labor. read more

However I brought my x4 in due to a miss I felt when driving, made the appointment and brought it in and reiterated that I'm bringing it in due to a miss in the engine when I press on the gas. He says we will do a diagnostic to see what the problem is. He text me later that day and said I need a new drive belt I approved. I paid the amount and picked up my car when ready. All good! I go out of town and return after the weekend started my car up Monday morning and smoke came out the tail pipe. I called Jorge or text him. And told him what happen he said that has nothing to due with the belt we replaced. So I went on with my day the smoke stop but the miss was still here. I text him and told him that and made an appt to come in. When I got here and spoke with Jorge about the miss he said I never brought it in for a miss and it was for service. I said huh????? He lied to me and I never brought it in for service my concern was the miss. Then he said you would of had to pay for the diagnostic the first time you brought it. I said so what did I pay for he said the belt. I thought the belt had to do with the miss. And my service I don't pay for due to package I have. Look the bottom line is that he didn't take accountability for his action and rather lie and said I never came for the miss. This guy has no respect for himself or the people he serve and he also said he used to work at Audi and they did things better so why is he even working at BMW. Stand up for yourselves WOMEN don't take this stuff NO MORE. I'm upset because I have to keep coming back when it should of been done the first time but to lie to say I didn't come in for this is simply delusional. I hope he learns from this and treat humans better than that. Sometimes people are so programmed that they don't even know how to support eachother. Recommended I look out for it and if it gets worst to let them know of course and they will fix it. But there's nothing coming up in the system and I appreciate that instead of dropping it off again and so fourth. Great CS goes a long way. Treating people like you want to be treated is key. I initially was interested in a used x3 but Garrett did a great job selling me on a brand new x3. I was able to get a great deal, and everything was clearly explained-no haggling or dismissive behavior. I even had a good experience with the Finance manager - no last minute changes in pricing- and he made the process seamless. This experience was special since I hadn't purchased a car in over 10 years and the car buying process is very different than it was in 2009.
