This project had many facets. First, a sloped roof, plus a roof over it, plus a flat roof in another area had to be torn off. Next, there was wood to repair and replace. Then, there was the installation of the new sloped roof and a new flat roof. Chris' team was respectful of my property, finished the job well ahead of schedule, and were professional and expert at what they did. My approximately 70 plants in the ground including many close to the house didn't lose a leaf. There was a thorough daily clean-up. Each team member had a great attitude while doing this job in perhaps the hottest week of the year. They also did extras on their own initiative at no charge. Further, the original bid was the final charge-there were no additional charges. Ten years ago Chris, CJ and team did a great job on my relative's home. Chris and his Weathermaster team did a quality job on my single-story lift and reset concrete tile roof (lift and move tile, strip old paper, reset nails into OSB, repaper with double ply 40lb SBS UDL, replace all flashings, adding ventilation, etc, and reset tile with proper headlap). His work was inspected and permitted by the City of Poway. His team was meticulous in quality, on-time, on-schedule, reliable in communication, and absolute experts of their craft. I am an engineer and expect everything to be done by the book and at the highest stds of quality, and Chris and Weathermaster didn't disappoint. I cannot speak highly enough of the great job Chris and his crew did when they replaced our entire roof. It was not the easiest replacement with lots of hips and ridges. The crew arrived at precisely the scheduled time. They were extremely careful about plants, gutters, and protected everything with plastic. Chris made meaningful recommendations regarding skylights and the roofing material. He is a good communicator and knows his stuff. The worksite was cleaned up at the end of every day. We needed to replace a roof on our only rental house. Amidst pouring rain and Covid it was a stressful situation. I had 4 companies give me bids. For the most part they were not far apart but Weathrmaster had the quote without the dozen exceptions which I found honorable. They got the permit, showed up on time, cleaned up well and job was done. We had one small item to call them back on and the next day it was done. Chris and his guys removed 5000 sq ft of mossy concrete tile from our roof in Ramona and recovered it with new shingles in just one week's time. He did exactly what he said he would, answered emails promptly, cleaned up afterwards, and we couldn't be happier with our new roof. His bid was better than we expected and included items that would have been optional from another contractor. After calling literally 20 different roofers (many of which wouldn't even come see a project involving reroofing an historic house with pitched roofs), I finally found Chris Wilder at Weathermaster who was like "No problem. We can do that." Oh my gosh. That was what I wanted to hear. I got 3 bids and Weathermasters was the best and most reasonable. Our roof had started to leak due to all the rains this winter and Chris even came and put a tarp up over the leak until he could get to the roof replacement. They eased my mind and came through with flying colors. The finished roof is gorgeous and will protect this 1891 Victorian for many, many more years. If you have an older home and worry about a roofer taking good care of it, then Chris at Weathermaster is your man. I can't thank him enough for the excellent job that he and his workers did. After getting some very bad info from a roofer that was a "family friend", I called Chris Wilder at Weathermaster as he had done the roof on my home and was getting ready to do the roof on my daughter's home. Chris is professional, courteous and gives you a straight answer. He did an inspection on the roof to give me an idea of what I was looking at, worked up a quote and got me on his schedule as quickly as possible. Weathermaster reroofed my house this summer and I really had a fantastic experience with them. They did an amazing job and I can't say enough good things about the quality of Weathermaster's work. Price was competitive with 3 other bids I received, but I felt the most confident with Chris due to his professionalism, knowledgeable, and thorough explanation of everything up front. An added bonus was that, while the roof was open for construction, I'd asked them to drop in a sheet of plywood in the attic area so I'd have some flooring for attic storage, but unprompted, they cut the plywood to fit and nailed it down securely. They didn't have to do that, but just the extra touches that Chris and his crew provide in the course of their daily work has made a fan out of me. Chris Wilder at Weathermaster was extremely professional, as were his workers, and his roofing work is excellent. He performed the work when he said he would, and everything was cleaned up well after the installation. In all my communications with him during the project, through phone and email, he always gave me clear information and details. More than a year after the installation -- after a particularly heavy rain -- I discovered a leak in a bedroom and contacted him, and he immediately sent someone out the NEXT DAY. It turned out it was the solar company who caused the leak when they installed the panels and NOT Weathermaster's fault at all. Chris coordinated with the solar company to have them temporarily remove the panels while his workers repaired the damage that the solar company had caused. I look forward to having Chris and Weathermaster replace the second half of my roof in another 5 years or so. read more

Our bonus room roof was in dire need of replacement. We obtained four quotes and Chris Wilder impressed us the most with his knowledge and recommendations. He pretty much blew everyone else out of the water, and we had done some research already on various material choices so we knew the products he uses would work best for our insulation and roofing needs. The work went smoothly and we appreciated his flexibility in allowing a termite inspection to delay the roof work. We also appreciated his men removing a flagpole and some fencing for which he didn't charge so we gave him a bonus at the job completion. We were very pleased that he got us a great warranty on the roofing material as another company had already declined to give us a warranty. We've used this company 3 times on 3 different houses (our main house and two rental properties). They are superb! This most recent job, they performed a roof inspection after our general inspection and chimney inspection noted a likely problem. Chris took pictures and labeled items to show us the problem areas. We decided to replace the roof entirely so they overlayed a shingle roof. They accommodated the specific date I needed (only available dates in between closing escrow and having tenants move in). They kept a neat and tidy job site, added extra attic vents that should have already been installed, and finished everything within 2 days. This is one company I recommend as highly as possible and to as many people as I can. If only every company worked with this level of professionalism, skill, price consciousness, and responsiveness!! read more

I spent weeks interviewing roofers and solar companies and when I met Chris and walked the project with him I knew I'd found my roofer! Weathermaster Roofing came highly recommended by a friend with high standards -- a short in-person conversation with Chris confirmed his honesty and level of knowledge about roofing. He was up front about cost and that there could be additional cost if my roof had termite/dry rot damage (fortunately it did not) - he sent a very detailed professional proposal to me very quickly and got my project scheduled and done in a very timely manner. The tear off crew he used worked efficiently and while it is undthe messiest part of the project, they cleaned up after themselves really well and Chris was here the whole time keeping an eye on them and moving his part of the project forward. Both he and his son CJ were professional, friendly and took appropriate precautions related to public health/covid around me and members of my household. Weathermaster replaced the roof of our 1937 spanish house in Mission Hills. Both the clay tile portion and the flat composite portion were failing. Chris did a great job of explaining the problems, including some things done wrong with the prior installation, and he explained our options to repair versus replace. We chose to replace They gave us a solid bid and did an absolutely superb job installing the new roof. On the clay roof, Chris used copper gutters to match our existing copper downspouts, and he added vintage-looking clay bird-stops at the end of each trough. So the new roof is not just water-tight; it's beautiful and consistent with the era of the home. And on the flat roof they added a discrete custom aluminum cap to cover the parapet, where the roofing material ends and many leaks occur. Chris did not just slap on whatever material was in the warehouse; he took care to find what was right for function and for the look of our vintage home. And a year later Chris called to schedule a follow-up, at no cost, just to check the soundness of the roof as part of the Weathermaster warranty. Chris is a true professional, and his crew was friendly, careful and meticulous. We have had several roofers over the years, some good and some not, but Weathermaster is hands-down the best outfit we have worked with. read more

After 30+ years, our 4-unit condo needed a new roof. This was a very big budget item for us and we wanted it done right (our roof is not a simple one!), so we researched very reputable licensed/bonded/insured roofing companies that had experience with projects our size and got quotes from three. Of the three people who came out to provide a quote, the only one who actually went up on the roof (instead of just relying on satellite photos) was Chris from Weathermaster. He was able to do a good assessment of our needs, and confirmed we should replace the aged skylights when we redid the roof. We wanted a roof that would help keep the building cool, and he explained options that would help with that. [Note: All three companies were in accord that layering a new roof over the old one was not recommended, as that would increase heat buildup as well as greatly increase the weight on the roof--instead, a replacement roof was the proper way to go.] Chris provided a reasonable and detailed quote, and quickly provided a revised quote when we made a slight change to our original request. He was very friendly and knowledgeable which gave me confidence in his company. He and his team completed the roof when they said they would and were incredibly detail oriented, which I really appreciated as I am a stickler for details. They used only the best materials with the best product warranties, not to mention a fantastic Weathermaster company warranty. When I need additional wood work done to replace some of the old roof boards, they charged me a very fair price. When there was a problem with the rain gutter which was installed by a subcontractor he was working with at the time, he came out personally and fixed the problem for free.
