Tried buying a vehicle from Webb Hyundai - spent over a week trying to get a deal going. Spoke to two different sales people... both constantly dropped the ball. Received a text asking to communicate via text... immediately replied yes. Got the automated thank you then crickets. Next day received an automated email saying they had been trying to contact me but wasn't having any luck. I replied that I had no missed calls and haven't received any texts replying back to mine. Then finally got a text reply the next day. Then was making some progress on the deal... got to my trade sent them texts with photos and all the info. Then again the ball got dropped without any response. I buy a new vehicle almost yearly for my business - usually via online communication because of my crazy schedule. Almost always I can close a deal in 1-2 days... over a week later and it seems they could give a crap less if they sell to me. Thankfully I'm not local so I have plenty of other options - but they had the exact model I wanted and seemed like a fair price - trade price still unknown so who knows if the end deal would have been fair. But their lack of service is an indicator to me that I'd highly recommend shopping elsewhere. read more

5 months ago, we deicded to buy my daughter a BRAND NEW 2020 Elantra. On Wednesday Nov 4, the car started having engine issues. We got it towed to this dealership and on Friday, they told us that it's the motor. On Saturday, we came to the dealership to get a rental. The rental place was closed so we had asked the dealership for a courtesy car. The man told us that we couldn't get a courtesy car because there are 10 other customer cars with motor/engine issues, so there wasn't any available. The customer service in the service department was horrible. I never had issues at the Highland location. What's going on with the faulty motors and engines???? read more

My dealership did not have appointments available for 6-8 weeks so I made a first time appointment at Webb Hyundai for the Fall Special. My appointment was for November 11th. The service came with a car wash but it was raining outside. I asked the service advisor if I could get a car wash another day and was told no. I explained I was paying for a service that includes a car wash which states on the special but because it was raining I could not get it then and should be able to another time. The response was every service comes with a complimentary car wash and was not something I was paying for. I was very disappointed because the dealership should honor ALL written services included for the Fall Special. I want a response from management that I can get my car wash. read more

I have a leased vehicle that I got in June 2021 so any oil changes or repairs, I go through the dealership. I pay the extra monthly maintenance cost for minor repairs. I had my first oil change in January 2022. I made an appointment and waited in the dealership for 2 hours for my vehicle. After a few days I noticed they didn't reset my car so my service warning stayed on until my next service. I chalked it up to maybe they're busy, this was my first experience and I'm not one to judge after one experience. However, I had a minor windshield crack from a pebble on the highway and scheduled a 3:00 appointment at the dealership for the repair. I asked multiple times for an update on my car since I sat around with nothing happening. I was told "I will find out for you" but I was not updated. I asked the guy helping me in the service area a few times. I finally got an update at 4:15 that the window guy was on his way. He arrived at 4:30 and I was told it would take him about 20 minutes. It looked like he finished around 5:30, an hour later. By 6:15 I asked if I could have my car back. The girl in the service area said she didn't know I was there waiting. It didn't look like the original guy was around anymore. I didn't get paperwork to show the details or report about this. I noticed right away that the crack isn't completely gone. 3 hours and 15 minutes! I'm just hopeful it's good for winter and I'll be looking for a car sooner than later from another car company. This is beyond frustrating. I just find it rude and unprofessional at this point to make appointments and not have reasonably timed service. read more

I worked with Alfonso who listened to what I wanted and took me to test drive what I asked for. We drove through the car lot and I saw the Venue. The service department is terrible unprofessional, undesirable customer service and unable to fix my make of car purchased at that location.

In 2009, I received great service from Webb Hyundai and spent around $5,000. I have a 2002 Hyundai Elantra. I have had no significant problems since then. My car stalled a second day two days in a row. Both times, it started with emergency start up service. After the second time, I brought it into Webb Hyundai late Wednesday 2-20-13. I wasn't sure if it was a battery, fuel line/filter, or alternator issue. On 2-21-13, Webb Hyundai replaced the battery and said they had done a full diagnostic before and after the new battery. My car stalled a third time ...same problem.....the same day I got it back on 2-21-13. Because it was snowing, I had to wait three hours in a parking lot for a emergency start up service. It didn't work and I had the car towed to Webb Hyundai the next morning on 2-22-13. Instead of acknowledging that they didn't catch the initial problem and promptly working on my car that now won't start at all after telling me the day before that I was good to go, they told me they couldn't fit me in even though my car was non-functioning. I didn't get a call from Webb Hyundai on 2-22-13. I called today, 2-23-13 around 10:30 a.m.. I was told that a technician wasn't there yesterday and that no work would be done on my car until Monday. Why didn't Webb Hyundai call and tell me the day they determined this? Had I not called them, my car would just be sitting there with me waiting at home for them to do their job. I also never once lost my temper though felt that when they didn't catch the problem and then discarded me after the fact saying they didn't have time that that was extremely unprofessional. To not call me and tell me the status of my car was just unacceptable after not doing the job right in the first place. It also is not respectful of my situation per my job, etc. I can't make plans if I'm not told about the status of my car and how long it will take to repair it. read more

Fraud Alert - Webb Hyundai Highland, Indiana sales team (Eric Gdowski and Jim Menz) performed a "bait and switch" on me and committed fraud to persuade me to quickly sign a Leasing Agreement on their Ipad, which Jim Menz proudly boosted would take no more than 90 seconds - "Everything we discussed, just sign here, here, here." After they rushed me to sign, they told me a copy of the Lease Agreement would be uploaded to a flash drive. I got home, plugged in the flash drive they gave me to my laptop and found no Lease Agreement. Ladies and Gentlemen, this was intentional "out of sight, out of mind"...."Shhh... hopefully he doesn't find out how we really nailed him". I finally got a copy the next day after some strong words with Jim Menz. When I reviewed the Lease Agreement, boy was I shocked! The mark-up ended up being $4.5K over MSRP and the warranty/protection service they claimed "would only add $16/month" - was actually over $5K or $110/monthly. They kept my focus on the overall monthly payment while they added around $10K in added cost from mark-up, service protection plans, and increased sales tax amount. Eric Gdowski claimed there was no Lease termination fee and I could return the vehicle to the dealership early before my term was over. I trusted Eric and put my guard down thinking "if I'm not satisfied with this Lease Agreement I can always return the vehicle to the dealer and end the lease." The next day I told Eric Gdowski I was unsatisfied and wanted to end my lease. He quickly turned his tune to "I never said that". During the sales transaction I asked Eric TWICE in front of my wife regarding the Lease Agreement termination cost for reassurance. She is still in shock he would deny it because he seemed like a sweet, young kid starting his career in sales, and she did not expect him to be your typical sleazy car salesman. They are refusing to take back the vehicle and refunding my money. I plan to take legal action against this dealership. Please do not end up like me, read every sentence of that Purchase/Leasing agreement, even if it takes you an hour and you have Jim Menz hovering over the Ipad to make you feel like you need to sign quickly. If anything, make them print the papers and sit down in a comfy couch and take your sweet time going through page by page. They intentionally hold you up for 3 to 4 hours of BS back and forth before signing documents to break your spirit and make you want to get it over with. Never trust or take their word for anything unless it's written in fine print. I plan to take legal action to recuperate the ~$3K down-payment I gave them. I hope others speak up so we can file a class action lawsuit against fraudulent sales practices at Webb Hyundai - Highland, Indiana. I know i'm not the only victim. read more

They sent me a letter where they said I could refinance my existing vehicle. I went there and I told them specifically before applying for refinance please make an inspection of my vehicle to make sure it will qualify so they did. After that they asked me to sign a confidentiality agreement so they could check my credit score. End of the day, my car a 2005 didn't qualify for refinance but they ask me if I want to trade in and I say well maybe but I have no time please send me an email. The email never arrived and next day I found on my credit report not 1 but 2 hard inquires. For those who are not familiar with hard inquiries the stay on your credit report for 2 year. Sales person Greg was great. But when you go to do your paperwork and they ask you if you want bumper to bumper and you can cancel at anytime, not true. Had a very hard time dealing with them. DO NOT BUY PARTS FROM THESE THEIFS!!! I purchased a safety plug for my Sonata Hybrid and the plug didn't fit my vehicle. I spent $150.00 on the part and when it didn't fit, I went back to return the part and was told I couldn't return nor exchange the part because it was opened. I had to open it to find out it didn't fit my Hybrid battery. Now Webb Hyundai is basically telling me I spent $150.00 on something that I can't use and that it's my fault and I'm just out the money. That's bad business. WFT is the issue? You give me a part that doesn't fit and I'm supposed to just except it. You are basically robbing me for my hard earned money. You're a multi million dollar business whose stealing from your customers. This is unacceptable and I am seriously upset and considering a law suit. I went to Webb Hyundai in search of a decent used vehicle. The salesman who assisted me was named Jeremy. I advise Jeremy that I had been reviewing their used car inventory on their website and that I was interested in taking a look at a 2013 Ford escape that I had reviewef on line. Jeremy took me to the vehicle, informed me that this particular vehicle was previously owned by Webb Hyundai's service manger, that he was the sole owner, and that this vehicle was a really great deal. Jeremy initially behaved as a typical car salesman trying to make a sale... he was very friendly, but made sure to inform me that he did NOT work on commission, and that he had the owner, Brian in his back pocket so he could get us a good deal. I also talked with a finance guy named Jason who initially quoted me a price with my trade in, and then came back with an increase of over $2000 because he miscalculated the tax, and said there was a additional $500 for removing the tint from the vehicle I was trading (web Hyundai is the ONLY dealership that ever mentioned that to me) and some other incidentals that he "Forgot" about. It was getting late and close to closing so I told him I would be back the following day. I called the following morning to ask if I could take the vehicle to my mechanic a few blocks from the dealership. Jeremy told me that he would have to ask around, because some people there might be offended by my request! I advised him that I wasn't concerned about this offending anyone, but that i needed to make sure there weren't any underlying issues with the vehicle. I was told that I could take the vehicle to my mechanic so I picked it up an hour or so later. On my way out of the lot, I noticed both the check engine and low tire lights were on. It was drizzling rain so I turned on the wipers, only to find no blades on either side. (I test drove the vehicle the previous night but didn't need the wipers at that time and these warning lights were not on at that time either). I continued on to my mechanic only to feel the vehicle pulling to the right and skreeching sounds from underneath each time I turned left or right. My mechanic strongly advised against purchasing this vehicle for all of the reasons mentioned, and informed me that the front drivers tire was completely flat, the emissions certificate was expired, and there was severe corrosion on the catalytic converter and the inside of the drivers and passengers front and rear doors. I returned the vehicle to Webb and kindly informed Jeremy that I would not be purchasing it for these reasons. His attitude changed immediately as he informed me that he was only making $75 from this sale (told me the night before that he did not work on commission) and that his service manger was very upset to hear what I found out about the vehicle! He advised me that these are the reasons they encourage people to buy new vehicles. He then said that he was actually a bit afraid to sell a vehicle to me at this point, and I advised him that we were even, as I was VERY afraid to purchase a vehicle from Webb Hyundai. I will NEVER return to any Webb dealership, and will never recommend them to anyone. We ended up purchasing a new Chevy Malibu, premier series 2 days later from Team Chevrolet in Valparaiso, Indiana. We had a great, honest, respectable experience there and would highly recommend them. We started out looking for a used vehicle and ended up purchasing a new car because of the time, effort and professionalism of the staff at Team Chevrolet. read more

Don't believe their commercials, Bought a new car for my daughter 08/19. After negotiating the cash price for the vehicle I gave them a deposit and met with Jim the finance manager to complete the paperwork. Several days later I received in the mail the form for title application and realized they had placed a lien on a vehicle that I paid cash for. Upon returning to the dealership I again spoke to Jim and asked for an explanation and to correct the error. Jim said it was the financial institutions fault and I should take it up with them. Frustrated I spoke to Joe the salesman, who was very helpful, and tracked down the titling clerk who apologized said it was the dealership's mistake and they would send the corrected paperwork to the financial Corp, HQ in Ohio, that I got the money order from. Concerned, I followed up on my own and learned there was no HQ in Ohio and they only had branches locally. After spending more time investigating we went to the BMV only to discover that they titled the vehicle in only 1 name instead of 2 as requested. I contacted the dealership again to which they said they would deliver to my home the amended paperwork correcting all errors the following day. When it did not arrive as they claimed, I contacted them again and was informed that it was in the hands of the BMV and there was nothing they could do. So after 5 trips back and forth from Crown Point to Highland, I have to fix the entire issue on my own. Following this giant screw up, I expected the dealership to maybe offer a couple free oil changes or something to compensate me for this disaster. Just an apology from the original title clerk, who sent the corrected paperwork to who knows where in Ohio Jim the finance manager who handles all paperwork including cash purchases wouldn't even get out of his chair to see if there was any solution or explanation to this problem, that would have saved me days of running around, instead blamed everyone else for the screw up, which I learned was entirely his fault. They didn't treat me like family as they claim in their commercials. Buyers beware about this dealership nice cars, but totally incompetent staff and once they have your money, GOOD LUCK read more

If I could give them no stars I would! They are so bad that it's reprehensible. I was referred by a friend who had bought a car a year earlier. Since I bought my car in 2014, they wanted me to pay $300 for the extra key. I told them I wouldn't they said they would look for the second key. Well after a year I gave up. They also took over a year to give out the referral money. It gets worse. The person who referred me just took his 2013 Santa Fe to check for a noise I the fan. He paid for the repair at $145, got in his car and the noise was still there. He went back and spoke to the service rep. She told him that it wasn't fixed and he asked for his money back and was told that the service man had to be paid. They refused to to refund and of his money! This isn't the only time we have had issues with them. My advice steer clear of WEBB!!!! read more

Left my car a week for service as we were going out of the country. Got there to pick it up and they couldn't even find it. When they located the car, the service wasn't performed and I had to leave it an additional day. Picked it up and still not right. I now have a case with Hyundai customer care trying to resolve the issue. We made five trips to the dealer in ten days. We also purchased three new Hyundais with the dealer in less than two years. One star is too much. Avoid these guys at all costs. It's nothing more than a money grab. How do they intend on making up lack of car sales at the sake of the consumer by charging them outrageous prices on parts and services. Typically, consumers tend to take their cars back to the dealerships that they purchased them from for parts and services, but it's definitely not worth it in my case. Especially if your warrantee has expired. I had a starter replaced that cost 40 to 50% higher than competitive market price. I purchased my previous car from Webb but I will never purchase a car from them again or any of their dealerships. My 84 year old mother went to Webb Hyundai to lease a car and was sold three different service packages that added $37 to her payment. In addition, the lease agreement they sold her was $25 over the advertised lease deal that Hyundai was offering. So on a 3 year lease deal, they added on approximately $62 per month to her payment! When she returned to the dealer to cancel the service packages, the sales person told her it was too late and she could not cancel them. We believe we got them to cancel the service packages but it is unclear because they would not provide ANY documentation. This is the worst sort of bottom-feeder behavior. read more

I am actually quite amazed with the service here! This was many of the placed I was browsing for a lightly used car. Upon my visit to Webb Hyundai I was greeted by a man named JEFF CAIN...He made my car buying experience nearly carefree and a real pleasure. When I met him he politely introduced himself in a delightful proper manner. (unlike other places) Of course I had my guard up, but I was soon as ease. He politely asked how I was doing and asked what I was looking for and in what price range, so that he could show me cars that he thought would be best for me. He showed my quite a few and I fell in love with the look and style of a "2011 ELANTRA" And of course the price was just right. Never did he even try to pressure me into over priced vehicles that were out of my price range nor did he try to sell me anything I didn't like...That's a good thing. The next day after looking at more cars in various other dealerships, I went back to WEBB HYUNDAI. I loved the car so much after scoping it inside and out and taking it for a test drive. And may I add the Jeff was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and explained everything in detail. We went back to the office and settled on a price, very little haggling was needed to come on an agreement. The paper work went quickly, hassle free, simply easy! . I BOUGHT IT!.... AND, I LOVE IT! I didn't buy a car from here, but the test drive process was so good I felt compelled to write a review. Long story short, my salesperson helped me find the Sonata I wanted to drive on his lot (down to the color and the specific option packages I wanted). After the drive, I told him I wanted a price right then and there. This was one of the only dealerships I visited that gave me a VERY good price RIGHT off the bat. I did my research with TrueCar to find out what others were paying in my area, so I knew I could get a good chunk off of a Sonata or a Camry or a Fusion, but this was the only dealership I went to that gave me a good first offer. They clearly don't play games here, and that I appreciate. I would have absolutely bought the car from them, but the car just wasn't right for me. read more

I've had quite a few horrible experiences with car dealers in the past. Everyone knows the reputation that car dealers have, and I'm sure most of us have a few horror stories that prove that reputation to be valid. That being said, I was quite surprised as to how easy it was to do business with Webb Hyundai. I inquired about a car via email that I spotted on their lot and was promptly contacted. I was a bit worried that the car would be gone by the time I was able to go and check it out. Luckily it was still available two weeks later. I recalled all the trouble my mother use to go through when attempting to purchase a vehicle and became sort of apprehensive as I pulled into their lot. I ended up being helped by Charles Hurd, who is pretty awesome, and was in and out within a few hours with the car I that I wanted. The entire staff at Webb Hyundai were cordial, friendly and easy to work with. I would suggest that if you are looking to purchase a vehicle any time soon that you pay them a visit. read more

After going to the dealer down the street and being lied to by Webb ford further up the way, I got fed up and walked to Webb Hyundai. The person that greeted me, joe Salas was the person that was going to get me to drive back home. I explained my situation, just moving to Indiana and paying over 900 per mont for public transportation back and forth to work. Walking with bags of groceries from the stores to my house... And all this for two years, he said he could help. Of course I didn't believe him because my credit sucks and everyone else said no. I walked in at 12p and drove out at 7p!!!!! He was amazing he helped me in ways I never thought I'd be helped, and lowered what I thought my car payment was gonna be by half!!!!! Apparently the HR department is the only thing that works at this place since they hide my review from the public every single time I post it. This place is terrible. My boyfriend... who just served 3 years in Japan and South korea.. bought a car from them October 31st. By the next morning there was coolant all over the ground. He brought it to a local dealer closer to home which they proceeded to tell us the truth about the car. There is an oil leak,two coolant leaks,brake pads are completely gone,inside tread on tires completely gone... many of other things I could list. With labor and parts it would be roughly $3000 to fix. We conacted webb Hyundai.. they said they would work with us but they have definitely proved differently. For the past two weeks they have been ignoring most of our calls.. Then they said they would give my boyfriend $680 for parts... then $450... Then they said they would put a check in the mail which we never received. Finally we made it public on the internet and then finally we got a call from Brian Webb. They gave him $450.. We are at a total of $5000 in damages now on the vehicle(out of our own pocket). Definitely a place to report to the BBB. I do not recommend this place AT ALL.I read more

Keep your car FAR away from the mechanics that work in service here! We brought our Hyundai vehicle to them to have the air conditioning knob fixed. We normally would go to our local dealer vs going all the way out to Indiana but we were referred by a friend who told us they were highly recommended by their family. Well our experience was the complete opposite so something has definitely changed here. The knob was just loose (this seems to be a common flaw with this vehicle) and just needed to be replaced. Instead of using the holes you normally would to pop the knob off (which you can watch YouTube videos on how to properly do this) they used a screw driver and pried it off all around the edges leaving indentations all around the dash board piece. When they could not fix it and tried to bribe us with one time use discounted service we demanded that they replace the dash.Then they replaced the dash board wrong to the point our stirring wheel was completely off/unbalanced and the dash had gaps where the pieces use to connect smoothly. They even had the same guy work on it after we told them not to and when we told them there were more issues they even gave us attitude about it. We had to go back so many times it was ridiculous and it cost us time off work and gas in both our car and the rental (that they almost didn't give us until we demanded that too).We even drove there on a Saturday when we were off work and they turned us away and said they are too busy on Saturdays (despite knowing what we were already going through with them). Our vehicle was never the same after wards. We kept hearing weird noises from the dash that we never had before. We finally traded it in. So much money lost over their unqualified workers. read more

Do not bother purchasing premium service plans. For all the money one pays and they will treat you badly. My wife was there on Friday for appointment that she made because she was told too. She was yelled too and then some other manager told her why complain about it? Who does that? Those people need more training.
