We got cats this winter and now are devoted cat parents. Love this local-ish pet shop that caters to cat and dogs but with a few smaller pet items. They aren't as prolific as bigger box stores but still loved their selection and prices were pretty fair. They had some good advice for cat food too. The sales associates gave me some great suggestions to help with puppy teething/biting. Theres nothing special about this store. I decided to check it out bc someone recommended to me.... however, it's literally like any other pet store. Not only is it pretty generic but it is crow it!!! Yes, the staff is super friendly but they need to do a better job with crow control/flow. People just stand in spots with their dogs. Went here for the first time today and can't speak highly enough about it. Before today I always went to "big box" pet stores but with covid I decided I really wanted to support a locally owned place. And I'm so glad I did. I've never had this kind of customer service at any of those places. The owner was very kind and repeatedly stopped what she was doing to help us find what we needed and give us advise for our new puppy. I probably have spent over couple hundreds dollars at Weber's I'm trying to get ready for a puppy but this is my last visit. Warning! Employees at this store are NOT wearing masks. A couple of weeks ago they had loose bandannas, and I thought, well, maybe they don't have masks yet. But then this week the two employees had masks pulled down below their mouths. Might as well not have them at all. There is no signage requiring customers to wear masks, or reminders about social distancing. We have been buying pet supplies here for about 18 years, and it's a good local business where the owner knows us by sight. The only reason I'm knocking off a star is that neither she nor most of the staff are wearing masks during a pandemic, or requiring customers to wear them. Since masks protect others more than they protect the wearer, it is irresponsible for those who deal with the public not to wear one. read more

This place is fantastic. Great stock and very friendly staff. I will do all of my pet shopping here. I first came here to get a recommendation on what dog food I should get. I got plenty of information on the topic and was able to find a small bag to try. Turns out my dog really enjoys it and I will definitely be back to purchase the larger bag. Later in the week, I returned to get advice on a dog behavior consultant as my rescue dog is very skiddish and needs some guidance. I again got plenty of information and some methods to try to help the situation. Their prices may be slightly higher than some of the pet chain stores in the area, but I urge you to shop here. Weber's has a large variety of cat and dog food and treats. Their staff are highly knowledgeable when it comes to food/feeding. The location of the store is close to the busy intersection of 29, 50 and 236 so it's easily accessible. Another perk is that if you buy 10 bags of the same food you'll get your 11th free. Their prices are very reasonable and are generally cheaper than other chain pet stores. I did knock off a star for being closed on Sundays and I'm assuming it's because this is a family-run store. Also, they seem to have a limited selection of dog chews, leashes, collars and the like compared to the chain stores. read more

I like the variety and staff, but since they're closed on Sunday, and with my commute on weekdays rarely get back before 6, Saturday is the one day that it's open to me. This place is great. It has a wide variety of toys, food, treats and other essentials. I enjoy shopping here because the people at the front are always friendly and knowledgable and it feels like a family centered store. They have walls and walls of all natural healthy food for your dogs and cats and if you can't find something just ask they will order it or help you find it. One time they didn't have this one food I was looking for (surprising!) and they sent me to a totally different store in Manassas, I thought that was really nice of them, definitely didn't have to do that. Weber's is really a step above any generic pet store, and I especially like to shop here because it's local and family owned. The customer service is top notch. Staff is always so helpful and knowledgeable, especially when I bring in my dog to say hi. During the pandemic I have found the store to be extra clean, with limited crowds, and everyone inside is wearing masks, which makes me feel way more comfortable shopping here. I have been a regular customer at Weber's in Fairfax for over 5 years. This past Saturday while I was making my purchase, a middle age male was working the register. During the entire check out, he constantly made inappropriate gestures with a smile on his face, something like you would expect from a pre-teen male. Not sure what his purpose was, but it was not something that belonged in a family place of business . I had a similar experience with him this past winter. I normally always have a manufacture's coupon to help reduce the cost, which is anywhere between $145.00 and $135.00 a month. He gave me the hardest time about using the coupon, as if it was coming out of his pocket. The owner in the past has helped me when my pets had digestion issues, and has a very good knowledge of the products she sells in the store, however after this past experience I am seriously considering why I would want to shop here. WOW, Snarky little new b¡#h I called to reserve 50lbs of seed like I've been doing since 2016 and explained my ride situation like I do every time. Well She screwed it up. I called before going and it's not there. She tells me that I can drive to their HERNDON LOCATION TO GET IT. Yea rush hour to HERNDON at 5pm. Maybe a helicopter could make it before they close. Why didn't it come from HERNDON for me to pick up Tuesday? They always have stuff come over from the other store. Next day. When I get there she asks "how are you?" I tell her NOT GOOD. I have a broken arm and 150 pounds of seed to unload out of my car and nobody to help me unload it because you screwed up my order. SHE SMILES. SHE SMIRKS The whole time She rings it up and puts it in my car. Even when I tell her that I reserved the rental car back in January and I was supposed to be in Pennsylvania. Last time I was there I told them that I buy this $50 item 4X a year Just to give them the business and this is my thanks. Plus the price jumped to $63. read more

They provide rescue groups a place to hold adoptions, the staff is extremely knowledgeable about all their products and they have helped save the life of two of my dogs ( more than once by recommending veterinary specialists in the area for health conditions I was unfamiliar with. Their products are top notch. The staff is friendly, helpful and treat each customer like a member of their family. They get to know you by name, remember your pets" names and will exchange or return any product purchased there with no issue. It's the kind of locally owned small business you can hardly find anymore (and certainly not at a big box chain store) I rely on Weber's for their safe, carefully vetted and sourced pet products along with exceptional customer service. My friend walked in a couple of weeks ago in Fairfax City and said the woman we always see working there (owner?) wasn't wearing a mask. I was shocked but then Gov. Northam came out that it was mandatory inside stores. So I went in a few days ago and there she was with a boy/young man behind the counter-both still not wearing masks. I just turned around and left. Pet Supplies Plus is right across the street. I bought all my pet supplies/food there and they ALL were wearing masks. They have a variety of items, from food to toys, etc. One awesome thing is that they host adoption events for local rescue groups! They also give the rescue groups a discount on their purchases. Love this place! Friendly staff! When deciding on changing our dog's food, we came here and spoke to the staff and they were so helpful. They actually gave us about 10 free samples of food and let us try them at home first. Then we figured out the one that our dog liked the best and we purchased it. Also they have a log of how many bags of dog food you buy and I think on the 10th or so one, you get one free? They have unique/speciality pet foods. Prices rivaling Amazon (the same bag of Wellness dog food elsewhere is 30% more) and the staff doesn't turnover so you can build rapport (not to forget they are knowledgeable). I live in Maryland but drove to the Fairfax VA store at the recommendation of a relative. I am preparing to become a dog owner and needed a few essentials. My experience lived up to the recommendation. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I absolutely appreciate the fact that the owner was honest and took the time to walk me through the essentials which truly were just the essentials. There was no push to buy more or buy the most expensive. She gave me a lot of different recommendations, honest comparisons, and based on her own experiences- what to expect with my new addition to the family. I walked away feeling confident I had the basic tools I needed to get started. Too bad they do not have stores closer to me but I am willing to drive the 50 minutes to buy my future dog supplies at Weber's. read more

Aside from the fact that they close rather early in the evening (7PM or earlier) and that they are priced slightly higher than other places, I can see us being lifelong customers. With the adoption of our rescue pug earlier this month we have a puppy in the house again. After my darling Zsa Zsa passed last year, I never thought I would love a doggy again. But he has stolen our hearts and that of the local store's employees. They know him by name already and he gets so excited he just looks at me until I tell him it is ok to go give them hugs lol. We've visited two separate locations and while the Chantilly one is literally a mile from our house, I think we like the Fairfax location better. I like the layout and the staff is very friendly here. Most stores would encourage you to buy the largest bag possible. But not here -- she actually worked the math out with me and we figured out that to avoid giving him stale food (we use one of the higher end natural foods) that it was better to buy a smaller bag. She could've just made a sale and helped me with the larger bag as I had requested. But she cared enough to keep us happy and not take advantage. I've been going here for my dog food/toys/leash needs for the past 1.5 year or so. The experience has been okay. Lots of selection at a decent price. I stuck with Weber's because I thought that this place would have superior service and friendly faces compared to the larger chains. However, the last time I went I was proven wrong. The cashier was "nice" enough to answer a few questions about flea and tick repellent products but couldn't seem to wait for me to leave so she can chat with the group of workers/friends. I had a five dollar coupon for the dog food which she forgot to discount off of my credit card bill. This is the second time that happened. This time when I came back in to politely ask her to fix the issue, she mutter something about having to change something and then handed me a $5 bill and promptly turned back to chat without saying "sorry" or "bye". I thought that was incredibly rude and will not be returning. I'm heading back to Petco (yes...petco..) Advice: your prices aren't that low...be nice to your customers! read more

I love this place! It IS cheaper than the chain pet stores and the people who work there have so much knowledge. They helped me with a collar for my two year old lab mix who pulls constantly. I didn't even ask for help but they were very interested in explaining and showing me the different options. I totally agree with the previous review. Everybody's so helpful. They have a lot of alternatives to everything and all natural cures. They also have a dog food deal where if you buy so many bags you get a free one. I think its like the 8th one's free or something but I'm not sure and it depends on the brand of food you buy. They also have lots of different kinds of toys if you have a hyper dog you know how important this is. Oh, forgot to say they've also ordered a bunch of stuff for me whenever I need it and they're pretty fast about getting in stock! read more

I have been using Weber's for years. They have great products with good variety and I can always feel good about anything I buy there without having to research it myself because they do a lot of research themselves and I do trust their judgement. Having worked in the veterinary world for several years I also appreciate the kind of products they carry. The frequent buyer program they have for most of their dog and cat foods where you buy 11 or 12 bags and your next one is free is great, especially since they are less expensive than Petsmart anyway. The only down side is their hours. Most days I work 7am-7pm and they close at 7pm during the week and by the time I remember to go on a Saturday they are already closed at 5pm and then they are closed on Sundays. So if I need something or run out of something over the weekend I'm either out of luck or have to go elsewhere. There was also one time their front door clipped my bag of dog food on the way out and it ripped, spilling about 1/3 of the bag on the sidewalk. They gave me some packing tape to tape up the bag but didn't offer me a new bag since they could have written it off to the vendor as damaged. Otherwise I love this store and recommend it on a regular basis. read more
