BE AWARE OF A PLACE THAT GOES BY; several names including : Recycling, Orlando Auto Parts and Recycling. CLass 7 Auto, and many others. THe scammers go by the names of Ashley, Rodrigo, Edwardo, and George. I called around for prices and hearts was NOT the best; but they kept calling. Saying they could do a better price. SPoke with George who knew paperwork was in another state, knew condition of car, knew the time frame we needed to work in. He offered me MORE money than my highest offer I had gotten. Day for pick up came, Even after 6 phone calls, being ASSURED they would be there, my son sat 2 HOURS and they never showed. I spoke to George all the way up until 10 mins to 5. Then went to VM. NExt Day George conveniently wasn't there!!! That day spoke with Rodrigo as well as Ashley, 5 times. They were STILL late for a scheduled pick up, and THEN the Driver got in the phone and he and Ashley decide it would be $130 LESS than the offer George gave, siting "paperwork was needed" paperwork already discussed with George. Driver wrote HOLD on car and said IT WOULD NOT BE CRUSHED the next, and handed my son $400.!!!! When George was contacted the following day, he said, "well depends on condition of car", I said "same condition I talked to you about, including paperwork". He says "I'm sorry, but we have the car now!!" No offer to make it better, no apology, no offer to send money HE PROMISED. FLIM FLAM MAN AND AGENCY. LOOK AT COMMENTS IN YELP (I wish I had). Although the first offer was not something I would consider, Edwin mentioned that he would call around to see how close he could get to what I wanted and that he would keep me apprised of the progress. Frankly speaking and having lived in South Florida most of my life to understand service levels are typically poor at best, experience told me that this would be the last call I received from AutoBuy. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to see that Edwin was really working the price, and a day or so later, we had an agreement. As much as I probably could have sold the car for $10,000 more or even greater to a retail buyer, I didn't want to be bothered with finding that one retail buyer who would pay the freight, so I proceeded forward, albeit cautiously. Edwin was tenacious, diligent, professional, and friendly, all characteristics that are again, unfortunately uncommon to those of us that live in Miami and interact with people in service businesses. Yesterday, I delivered the car to AutoBuy's Miami Gardens location and even though it was exactly as I said it was, I still expected last minute negotiations, or at least an attempt for the same. To my surprise yet again, and after a quick, but thorough inspection, I received the documents by email for signature and a check for the amount we agreed on. I would be remiss if I didn't say that I appreciated the efficiency of those at the location, all of whom were equally as professional and friendly. To all involved, I will also add that the honesty throughout was greatly appreciated, especially in the car business. In less than 3 years i went through 2 transmission replacement. 2 turbos booster because they didn't install the first replacement correctly. Now a month after the turbo replacement I have do repair for the valve cover and the oil fan to reseal, that repair was denied by the extended warranty. First of all, i use to get my car fixed at CarMax Orlando and realized that they don't hire competent mechanics that it why the repairs fail. Also, they don't use new part but remanufactured parts, that is also another problem. I ended up going to the dealership when my car stays about a week before maxcare send an inspector, in the meanwhile they did not give ne e loaner or a rental, so I had to cover my own transportation. 7 days later the inspector denied the dealership claim. Now I have to pay over $1000 out of pocket . Do yourself a favor stay away from CarMax and Max care their extended warranty.
