As a woman with little interest in learning about how vehicles work, I appreciate an honest auto shop that doesn't take advantage of my limited knowledge of car mechanics. I have two teenagers and two brand new Mazdas. A bad combination, because within a week of my kids driving, both cars had big dents and the front panels were detached from the body at the driver side front. After driving around with duct tape for a few weeks, a friend told me about Vimar, also known as Denny's Auto Body. They do all kinds of car repairs and also body work. Sam, the owner, greeted me as I drove up and checked out my CX-5. He gave me a quote and told me it would be a few days. He even arranged for a $25 rental car with the Hertz nearby. They gave a maximum for the amount that the repair would cost and then was not informed of the extra charge until we showed up to pick up the car and pay. What is the point of a maximum cost if you do the repair anyway and charge more ??? Watch out. We had body work and the body work was done well. I was sent here by a friend who uses Sam for everything auto related himself. I have now used Vymar for all of my auto repair and paint work over the last 10 years. My husband and I moved to Orlando a couple months ago, and about 2 weeks in my car completely broke down while I was stuck up in Altamonte. It was acting up in a way that it had done in the past-- basically it just would just decide to not start up randomly in the middle of the day, and sounded like the starter had an issue. However, sometimes the problem would fix itself, and therefore many other mechanics had issues diagnosing what the problem was. Anyway-- After having my car towed by AAA to Vimar Auto Repair because my husband randomly found it on Yelp, it took about 5 minutes for Vimar to diagnose the EXACT issue with my car-- something that TWO other separate mechanics couldn't figure out for years! We were shocked! He fixed the issue and here I am, many months later, with a perfectly functioning car. My husband has started taking his car here as well. My car became one with a covered garage pole that went from the front of the car all the way down the drivers side. Vimar handled all repairs and communicated, as needed, with the insurance company to insure all repairs were made. I was recommended to go to Vimar Auto from a friend over 10 years ago when I was a student. I didn't know much about cars then, and I didn't have a lot of cash. Samir fixed my car and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. Since then I've learned how to do my own car repairs, and I can vouch from having to buy my own parts and do my own repairs that Sammy will not overcharge on parts, and his prices on labor are good as well. I've probably been in to see Sammy around ten times. I've always felt his work was good, and every time I'm there, I end up meeting another longtime customer who is picking up a car. I've been using them for years, and have found them to be the best auto mechanic shop I've ever had. They're professional, fast and most importantly, their prices are really fair. I have been taking my car to Vimar Auto Repair for over ten years, and I plan to keep using Vimar for all repairs on my car. I have also referred several friends to Vimar and they have become loyal customers. Sam, the owner, personally looks at my car every time I bring it in. I have always found his opinion to be trustworthy. I am an engineer, so I know how cars work and I have a pretty good idea when a mechanic is trying to BS me. Vimar always uses name-brand parts from the dealer. Cost estimates tend to be pretty accurate, the prices are very reasonable, and I have never felt that they were trying to "run up the bill" with a lot of unneeded maintenance work (which is a real problem with dealer service departments and many name-brand auto care places). The only issue I've had is that some repairs have taken slightly longer than what I was originally told-but not to an unreasonable extent. When repairing anything, parts may be delayed or unexpected problems may be found. Be aware that Vimar is a "no frills" operation. The shop doesn't look fancy, there isn't much of a waiting area, and there is no free courtesy car/shuttle. However, they will help you arrange a discounted rental car at a nearby agency (the agency picks you up and drops you off at Vimar). You might get "free" amenities at another shop, but you'll pay for them indirectly! Don't be fooled by the "one star" rating on Yelp. There is exactly ONE negative, one-star review on Yelp, but more than a dozen four- and five- star reviews are hidden for some unknown reason, and the hidden reviews are not used when calculating the star rating. read more

I'm been going to Sami at Vimar for over 12 years now. He is, hands down, the best! Sami is honest, and a super nice guy. I have taken 4 different cars to him... and even bought a 5th from him (a beater pick up to pull a boat). He always does a great job, and at a fair price. He has 3-4 other guys that work for him... and have for a long time, so it's not always the same person that fixes my car, but Sami always stands behind his work. Recently my tenant went to a chain place - who quoted her over $1200 for a bunch of work. I told her to take it to Sami for a second opinion and Sami fixed everything that needed fixing for less than $300. You can always trust Sami to tell you the truth and (unlike some other places), he will never tell you stuff is wrong that isn't. I have met people at Sami's that have gone to him for over 20 something years... and he gets almost all his customers from referrals - I have referred over 20 people to him over the years and all of them still go to him. Once, one of his customers threw him a surprise birthday party and over 50 of his customers showed up. How many mechanics do you know that would have 50 of their customers show up for their birthday? DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Brought my car here after I was in a car accident and the other person's insurance recommended it. They took the entire insurance pay out to "replace the damaged parts." Later, I was in another car accident and they had to fix the same stuff. Turns out, nothing was replaced. Vicar had used all bondo and filler to patch the car up, but charged me for replacing all the parts. There was paint splatters on the inside of the car. Terrible work. Additionally, my car jack and pliers were missing from the trunk when my car was returned to me. I would not recommend this body shop to anyone. read more
