Consider a different shop when looking for a wedding dress. After bringing my dress home from the shop I noticed multiple blood stains on different layers in different spots of the entire dress. When I called to express my concern, I was told they "inspected every layer" and it wasn't like that when it was in their possession. However, some of the blood is on the back side of lace appliques, and the layer of fabric between my body and the appliqué is not bloody, which leads me to believe it was stained during the making of it. Instead of apologizing, offering to pay for dry cleaning, etc., I was instantly blamed for something that I did not do. Moreover, I had an issue of ordering a lined gown and paying for a lined gown, but receiving an unlined gown. The store so graciously refunded the difference between unlined and lined versions, but the refunded amount doesn't cover alterations to make it lined. I loved the entire process of buying a gown from here, but am horribly dissatisfied and disappointed with their professionalism and overall attitude. read more

I dealt with some family drama, as I'm sure most brides do, and Heidi flawlessly helped me navigate it and was supportive of me as the bride the entire time! I had a couple of alternation ideas that I wanted to try out and the team walked me through ordering additional fabric, mocking up designs, and ultimately finalizing my perfect bridal look. My wife and I were nervous since we are two women who were in search of wedding dresses, but they made us feel so comfortable and welcome. I had a relatively good experience with this shop, but a couple finer points described below kept it from being fives stars. Location: the store is well decorated and clean. Parking is easy like many suburban locations. My only complaint was the dressing rooms. Mine had a door and seemed plenty large until you added the dresses and the stylist to help you get into them. It would help to add a fan of two as it can get hot fast. The dressing room across from mine was a curtain and far less private. Lucky me. Service: I made an appointment with the woman who had rave reviews (and I believe is the owner) only to be swapped out with someone because she wasn't quite finished with her last appointment. Not the end of the world. My stylist, who is also their seamstress, was plenty nice, but at moments seemed a bit flustered. She helped me into gowns and was able to make tailoring suggestions, but some of the alternate gowns she had me try on we outright awful (based on what I described I wanted and my body type). Selection: was great. I wanted a big ballgown style dress. I found one that I adored and nearly cried in, but it was too heavy/warm for a July wedding. I would come in with a good idea of your style and they can find plenty of gowns within it. Price: I'm a bride on a budget. I was aiming for a gown in the 800-1,000 range. They acknowledged that this would definitely limit my selection, but they found plenty to keep me happy. The dress mentioned above - that I nearly cried in - was offered at between 800-900. The Bridal Boutique of Naperville was a wonderful place to get my wedding dress. All the women working were very nice and helpful and I was able to bring several family members and friends along to be a part of this special experience! The only slight negative is that it is a smaller space and so there were fewer dress options than I expected, however there were still at least 50 + dresses for me to choose from and it only took trying on about 5-7 for me to find "the one". I would definitely recommend this place for brides! The dresses they did have were gorgeous and very high quality. Not to mention good prices. I had my heart set on a particular dress and BBON had it! Kellie was so sweet to pull the dress before I even got there, and took her time showing me similar dresses that I got to also try on. The attention I received from Kellie and Tina (I believe!!) was so personalized and pure. I was the only one in the bridal shop for 95% of the time I was there (another bride was just finishing up) and it made a world of difference in the appointment. I tried on 8-10 dresses total, some of which they pulled for me after figuring out what I liked. Kellie and Tina were so genuine and kind, and I never felt rushed or pressured, and they stuck to my budget when pulling new things for me. This was our second stop on "find a wedding dress day" and I am so glad I didn't decide to settle with the dress I liked at the first store we went to. Bridal Boutique has a laid back, less pressured feel and the shop is beautiful. They have a great selection in my size that was just big enough for variety and not too huge to make it feel overwhelming. I loved every single dress I tried on, and they were 10 times better quality than those they have at the big box store I tried first. I was having trouble deciding when my stylist, Jessica, came in with one she thought I should try on. She hit the nail right on the head and I ended up buying the dress that she suggested off the rack for $750. I made an appointment on a Saturday for my first time trying dresses. We had the store ourselves. It looks small, but the racks are packed with dresses. Jessica was very helpful with being intrusive at all. She provided feedback when asked and I felt she really "got" my style. She had me pull a few dresses on my own and then she gave me some of her picks as well. They truly did have a little bit of everything. I would say they were about 80% samples and 20% orderable... As a result, they had some stellar deals. I honestly would have purchased there, but the address I liked was an Alfred Angelo, and that whole situation blew up about a week later. This place is a little gem is the western suburbs. Although I did not find my dress here, the owner, Bonnie, made the entire experience wonderful. Each appointment is private, just one bride at a time. Bonnie will ask you what you're looking for, then allow you to browse and then let her know which dresses to pull. Then she will help you style each look, all while being genuinely sweet and helpful - in no way sales-pushy. She even helped me look up other boutiques that might have more of what I was looking for. Sizes are mostly 10 and up, with a small wall for sizes 8 and under (it is a store that carries sample gowns). Great pricing, and very nice dresses in very good condition. You can find many gorgeous dresses under $1,000. Beautiful, new store front, very clean and modern. I just started my search for a wedding dress and decided to check this place out because of there great yelp reviews. I didn't find my dress, but they had a decent selection. The majority of dresses were a bridal size 10 (street size 6), they had a decent selection of size 12 and 14, but if you are small or bigger than those sizes the selection is very limited!!! This place is great if you 1. Have a short time frame 2. Have a limited budget (mostly everything seemed to be under $1,500 with quite a few less than $900). The store is small so with your appointment you get the whole store to yourself which is so nice! The sales lady was not pushy at all and she also gave me privacy to try on the dresses which was a good and bad thing(those dresses are hard to get on with all the layers). The only other con of this place was the short appointment time 75mins was enough for me to try on about 7 dresses. Towards the end I felt very rushed. read more

I did find my dress here, however I did not quite have the personalized experience that others seemed to have had. I visited on a Saturday in January with Pinterest photos in hand. Bonnie asked me to pick out 5 or so dresses and then she pulled additional dresses based on my picks. I tried on maybe 10 dresses, found 2 that I really liked & couldn't decide between. Bonnie was friendly but seemed a bit distracted. I went back & forth between the 2 dresses for the last 15 minutes of my appointment, unable to decide. One thing I would highly suggest is to try on the dresses in the back of the shop with natural lighting. Only then could I see flaws, makeup spots, dirt on the dresses (which helped me make my decision). I know they are samples dresses but the 2 dresses were pretty dirty. I took my dress to the dry cleaner Bonnie recommended and they got every spot out and restored my dress to a brilliant ivory/white. I was THRILLED with the dress once all was said and done. This place is a little out of the way tucked in a strip mall, and as many times as I have passed it I never knew that it was here. I came to this place because I read the reviews and wanted this experience that everyone who has come here seems to have had. Bonnie delivered. I was a little nervous when I arrived. I had been shopping in the area, and was about 15 minutes early so I came by. The shop was locked up and appeared to be closed. I then realized that they were only open by appointment only and a quick glance through the windows revealed that they had very nice dresses. I almost left because I was sure that there was no way that I could possibly afford what was inside. When I got there, Bonnie asked me where I had already gone to try on dresses and what I liked/disliked about those dresses. She pulled a few I would like and allowed me to browse through the racks and pull some of my own. It was easy for me to find several dresses within my price range. She provided me with a strapless bra to try dresses on and offered her assistance getting me in and out of the dresses, but was never being pushy or salesy. I loved that there was nobody else in the store while I tried dresses on - it made things much more comfortable. They had a great spot with several mirrors so I could see every angle of the dresses that I tried on. She had great suggestions for me, and when I found a dress that I loved except that it was missing a touch of bling, she quickly produced a blinged out belt that could be added to the dress making it "my wedding dress". Most of all, I loved that the wedding dress I tried on is my dress. I will not stress and worry for months that I will get my dress on time because I already have it. Bonnie even provided me with a referral for a seamstress if I want to make any alterations. After appointments with the "usual" stores...Eva's, David's Bridal and coming away empty handed and upset that her dress might never be found, we ended up here at Bridal Boutique of Naperville. Not only did she say YES to a dress today but we all came out feeling happy and that we were well taken care of. Kellie is a doll to work with. She is patient, personable and knowledgable with any questions that we had. We had personal attention from a personal assistant to the bride from start to finish. She did not rush us either. This is NOT like shopping in those stores that are for masses of people. This is a one on one personal shopping experience for your dream gown. Let me start with the boutique itself. It's easy to find and parking is great. The decor is romantical as well as whimsical. The lighting is perfect. There are chairs around the three way mirror and perfect lighting. There is kleenex close by as well as water. It was absolutely comfortable and perfect. The selection.. my daughter tried on as many dresses as she wanted. There were so many different styles available other than the usual strapless gown. The thing is you take the dress right home! It's one of a kind, you buy right off the rack then go back for alterations two months before your wedding! Taking your dress home the day you buy it is a biggie and her precious cargo is safe in our house. The prices! OMG we paid HALF of what would saw at David's Bridal and she ended up with a unique dress! She tried on eight dresses prior to this and NONE of them looked like this dress. It felt, at this boutique, that Kellie actually listened to what my daughter wanted and provided dresses in those styles. She offered very little opinion to entice a decision one way or another but she listened to the concerns and then went from there. I can highly without a doubt recommend this shop for your bridal gown. Take a lesson in customer service and make an appointment with Bonnie - she is genuinely interested in every bride that walks in the door, and finding her the perfect dress. She takes time to learn about how you were engaged, details of the wedding, and even gets to know the people you bring with. She'll help you try on the dresses, add a sash, veil or hair piece or even take a picture. She'll make suggestions, look at what you do and don't like about a dress, and ultimately - find you what you want. And that's not all. If you match the respect that Bonnie exudes, you'll receive an even better price. I don't know what the cost of my dress was SUPPOSED to be, I just know that by the time that I had paid I had a free veil, and a discount on the dress and for what reason? I don't even know. My beautiful dress had one flaw (in my mind): jewels. There were tiny jewels on the bottom of the dress, and I didn't want them on there. One benefit to buying off the rack (other than the price!) was the ability to revise the dress to my liking - with that, the jewels were removed. It made a huge difference to me that I was able to do this, and didn't have to take the dress as it was. Every appointment that Bonnie books is solo - she is there to consult and you are there for a dress. There won't be others browsing on your turf: you are her only customer. She has photos of the brides all over the door. She even offered me free tickets to a bridal show in the city that she couldn't attend! I can't say enough about Bonnie. I went to BBoN twice- the first time with my mom just to try on dresses and a week later, I came back with my mom, future mother-in-law, and a friend to show them my top 2 dresses. I worked with Terry both times and she was great. She respected my budget, listened to what I wanted, and pulled some really nice dresses. She has a great eye for detail and wasn't pushy. It's also nice that she does alterations as she's able to give you a rough idea of how much they'll cost. The store itself is beautiful and clean and they have an amazing selection of dresses. I tried on many dresses of all different styles, all within my budget of $1000 or less. I found my wedding dress here, but didn't end up buying it, only because I found it online for slightly cheaper (and as anyone planning a wedding knows, you have to save money where you can!). This was my first and only Bridal shop I've been to. I can't say enough about how smoothly everything went! You can make appointments online. For some reason though when I originally went to make one, there was some snafu, and the time I wanted was somehow immediately unavailable. Bonnie was very accommodating and made the appointment for the time I had originally wanted. No big deal! Walking in, Bonnie greeted me right away and asked about my past shopping experience with bridal gowns (which I had none), what styles I like, and what budget to be respectful of. She then had me pick out 5-6 gowns "just because" so we could have a starting point. Trying on dresses was a fun experience, and she added belts for different looks. Initially, I was having a tough time even narrowing it down, but she helped me through the whole process, suggesting I only have 3 contenders at a time. I never felt rushed at any point to come to a decision. She picked out other dresses also for me to look at and gauge. I wasn't planning on buying a dress at my first store, but the process was so easy. Turns out the dress I chose was one of my beginning picks, but her input was very helpful. The gowns are sample gowns you can take home that day. In addition, I ordered a veil and Bonnie gave me a list of websites/places to shop for belts. *If you are going, it is helpful to bring in pictures that you like; I used pictures from The Knot app. Also, no need to bring in heels -- takes up time from your appointment to slide them on and off, and the dresses were so long on me anyway that it didn't make a difference.* read more

The pinnacle of price/performance ratio in wedding gown shopping. This is THE store to shop if you're looking for a high quality bridal gown on an under $1000 budget in the Chicago area. All gowns are sold as off-the-rack samples - you'll be buying the dress you try on. Besides allowing for big discounts, this is clutch if you're less than 6 months away from your wedding date, and traditional boutiques either can't get you a dress in time, or are quoting you big expedited ordering fees. Extensive selection of gowns here - I browsed less than a third of the inventory and already had half a dozen gowns that were close to my size, under my price point, and in elegant, modern styles. These are quality pieces too, recognizable brands, good material, all in very good condition, many looked perfectly new. I did not see any dresses that needed dry cleaning. Absolutely no stains, rips, or unraveling beadwork in these samples, as I saw at another store in the city. While I saw plenty of dresses under $1000, I also saw quite a few dresses in the $1000-$1500 range, and a couple over $2000. So if you have more to spend, but still want to get the most dress for your money, this shop is definitely worth checking out. I didn't really see much under $500, but I hadn't really scoured the racks by the time I found my dress - other reviewers seem to have had some luck in this price range though. As an added bonus, the experience of trying on gowns here has all the comforts of a high end boutique. The decor and lighting are perfect, both in the main room and in the dressing rooms. There's an extra mirror and step stool in the back, next to a big window, so you can check out your dress under natural lighting as well. There's a selection of veils and decorative belts if you're curious about how a dress would look accessorized. The dressing rooms are spacious and private. Bonnie was friendly and low pressure, yet efficient and no-nonsense. In the end, I chose a beautiful ivory silk La Sposa dress that was priced at just $600, leaving plenty of room in my budget for alterations and accessories. I couldn't be happier with it! I'm not a huge dress person. I am never going to be one of those people who looks in a mirror and sobs because she's found The Dress. But I did want something pretty. I went to several different types (David's Bridal, a small bridal boutique, and then a sample store) of bridal stores to find my dress. Bonnie was fantastic. She listened to what I thought I liked and used that to make suggestions. She was honest with me regarding different styles and details, and her gowns were beautiful. The prices are also incredibly fair. I will say I'm on the smaller side (5'5", 110 pounds) so the selection for me was smaller than for someone who actually has a figure to speak of but she still had many options. I believe at one point I was torn between 5 different dresses. There's also an on-site seamstress who was amazing in showing me all the modifications she could make to be sure the dress fit and looked exactly how I wanted. You can really snag a beautiful dress here without the hefty price tag! I purchased a Casablanca gown for $750 which is absolutely nothing compared to its normal retail value! Also, I was getting married within a few months of purchasing my gown and because of that I needed to get something off the rack that I could take home. I purchased an absolutely gorgeous dress for a fraction of the price - even if it wasn't hand-made for me! I realize this store is rated very well, but my experience was actually pretty bad. First of all, they got my appointment time wrong, so they were 30 minutes late, and then an additional 15 minutes late to help us on top of that. We had another appointment set up following that, so that made us feel really rushed. They also had double booked us, so I didn't really feel "helped" at all, just kind of like I was in the way. Which was frustrating because I wanted to feel special trying on dresses. Because they had another appointment going on, they kept coming into my dressing room to get clips and sashes, opening be door on me. It kind of made me wonder why they weren't coming in to help ME get dressed, clip my dress, and stuff like that. They also shoved my party of 6 into a tiny back room with a few storage boxes and only 3 chairs. There was a wall of windows as well so we could see the cars and they could see me. It was really awkward and uncomfortable. It had a tall mirror and everything but was really a strange room. And finally...all the dresses were about $800-$1200, and yet were samples/off the rack. So every one I tried on was broken, ripped, missing buttons or zippers, or otherwise damaged in some way. I don't think that's a reasonable amount of money to ask for a broken dress. (I ended up finding a my dream dress, brand new, that fit me like a glove for $450.) They also had a very limited selection of dresses available in my size. I am a 4, maybe a 6 in dresses, and there were really not that many, I felt. But that also could just be a style preference thing. I absolutely loved my experience at the Bridal Boutique of Naperville! It was the first store I went to, and I found my gown! Before I went in I had read a lot of the reviews online and they do not exaggerate. This boutique is just wonderful, and Bonnie was the real reason why my appointment was so amazing. She had an eye for dresses and she was so patient with me throughout the whole process. I cannot recommend it highly enough. So pleased with my experience. read more

I am so disappointed in this boutique. I was very excited it was the first place I came to find my dream dress! It is within walking distance of my home and would have been so simple! I was hoping for a consultation and suggestions. We did not receive that at all. The only question I was asked was "what is your size" (which I had no clue as bridal sizes are different from typical sizes). She pointed us to a rack of dresses that were (we decided) my size and we were told to pick four of our favorites. I asked the sales person if she could suggest some and she hesitantly said "I want to see what you like first". As a District Manager of a very large well known retail brand, this made my skin crawl. She did not help me in the fitting room, I had to figure out how to navigate my way in and out of the dresses. She did tell me once I was in the dress, she would zip me up. Finally, I found a dress that I was interested in. I was hoping for some service (throw a veil on me, maybe a belt) we had to ask her for those things, she did not offer any sort of customer service. Finally we caught on and the people with me starting finding things and dressing me up! Once I was dressed up in my possible wedding dress, she said "Are we done with this dress, we should really try on the others because I have another appointment coming in." She wasn't helping us anyways, so I said "by all means, you can help your other appointment" she said "we only have two fitting rooms" I stated "ohhh we are being kicked out, ok" she said "no no they aren't even here yet". Maybe if she HELPED us, it wouldn't have taken so long. Need I say more? I wish there wasn't more. She basically told me not to buy the dress that I liked. She said "I really recommend you go to other shops since this was your first stop, please don't feel obligated to by this one." WHAT? She could have told me how beautiful it was, maybe offer some compliments and I would have bought the dress. Instead, I went to Bri'Zan Couture in Naperville and had the complete opposite experience! I did find my dream dress and spent triple my budget (completely not pressured), because the sales person knew what she was doing. Owner- from one business person to another, this sales person can ruin your business. In order to contribute to the success of our store, she needs some major training. Please revisit your expectations with her as I watched the other sales person and she was ON IT, her group was having a ball while we were left confused and scrambling. read more

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Bridal Boutique of Naperville! It was recommended to me by my future MIL, who had heard great things from several of her friends and their daughters who had gone here. From the very start, they made it so easy to make an appointment that fit my schedule. I made my first appointment with the owner, Bonnie, who was beyond helpful--and really knew her stuff! I showed her pictures of what I thought I wanted, while she began to pull dresses. Unfortunately, after trying a few on, I realized what I thought I wanted was not for me. Bonnie pulled a few others, but as it is a sample shop, I was prepared to not leave with a dress that day. Especially because I was so confused as to what I was looking for!! I eventually found my dress at another shop, but am using their recommended seamstress. The best part was how Bonnie was not pushy AT ALL. It was clear she knew that because dresses are off the rack, and I didn't find anything that day, did not mean she should push something on me I didn't love just because it was there that day. I later reached out to Bonnie when I began looking for a veil, because I absolutely loved the shop and everything about it! I knew I wanted to purchase my veil through them. She responded immediately via email... which I'm pretty sure I was emailing her at 10pm on a weekend, with answers to my questions. I went in yesterday with an appointment to look at veils, with Jess, and was blown away yet again! Jess was so helpful in finding the exact veil I wanted. She was so helpful laying out all the different types of lace, and comparing them to my dress, advising what would look best. I was very aware veils can range in prices more expensive than the dress itself, but I walked out of the Bridal Boutique with exactly what I wanted, for under $200. I was floored! Bonnie was even so helpful to email me pricing in our initial email correspondence, unlike other shops that won't share info unless you're in store. I was also lucky enough to go back when my cousin was trying on dresses with Jess, and left that day with the absolute perfect dress in hand! I will continue to recommend the Bridal Boutique of Naperville to all future brides!!! read more

I bought my dress from Bonnie in December. Overall, I was a little disappointed in my dress. I did feel rushed into the decision because the dresses are samples and she only has 1 of each. I was wavering with my decision, but then decided yes because she does absolutely no holds and who knows, the next appointment may love it! I fell for the trap and if I were to redo it, I wouldn't have chosen my dress. HOWEVER, Bonnie wasn't pushy like the consultants at other shops I visited (House of Brides). She was extremely helpful and the dress I bought wasn't something I would have picked for myself to even try on, she does a great job of styling for your body type and your likes/dislikes. It is also quick! I tried a TON of dresses in a matter minutes versus the pony show you have to do at other stores. A couple other reviews also mention the major perk of going to Bonnie and that is receiving your dress in hand that very day. No waiting, no trusting some shady business owner about what you are getting. You know exactly what it looks like, exactly how it fits and exactly it's condition. Do not be deterred by these being called sample gowns. They are in near-perfect condition. I'm getting my steamed, but it didn't require any cleaning. They are bagged and cared for. I would totally recommend stopping to see Bonnie because you can get a fantastic deal from her. Just remember to keep your wits about you. If you aren't 100% about a dress, don't get it.! If it is a meant to be, it will be there waiting for you :) Also of note, the alterations lady she recommends, Mary Burlingame, is absolutely fantastic. She took the dress that I disliked and was able to make me come around to it. She also is incredibly reasonably priced and charges per alteration.. unlike the typical bridal stores that charge a flat and large fee. read more

I wish I had the same experience as others, but I unfortunately didn't. My sister in law purchased her dress from here and raved about how awesome the experience was and how there was one appointment at a time (this was about 2 years before I went for my appointment). There was another bride that walked in when I did for my appointment. She and her guests were seated in the main salon and my guests and myself were placed in the back room. I hate to say, but I did not feel welcomed. I picked out my dresses and changed on my own while the other bride was gifted much more attention and assistance. It was definitely awkward for myself and my guests. I ended up purchasing my gown at a different boutique. read more
