I could see that the fabric weight and color on any of them were not the best choice at all. Who were they kidding? Because Judy has about 600-700 gowns available, both my daughter and I thought this shop would be a great baseline to compare with others,. We called and made an appt and arrived on the 21st. Apparently I got the month wrong because it was April 21st and I thought it was March 21st. NTL, Judy accommodated us later that day and my daughter was lucky enough to find the style she was looking for on the same day. Unlike the other samples in previous shops. the gown from Judy's shop was beautifully made and fit so well. The fabric weight and sheen were exactly what an experienced designer would want to show off their design. There was just no comparison to the others. Judy's service was excellent; She's very nice and an honest business woman with a lot of knowledge about this specialty. Let her help you with the process and be honest about where you are, what you know and don't know about shopping for gowns, what your expectations are as well as your budget so she can guide you with your specific needs. Her designer selections cover just about every style. And there is value to be found in a well made gown that is not overpriced. When you don't overpay, you do get more quality for your money and that is where the lesson of value is enhanced in luxury. I was contacted before the appointment by my stylist Hailey asking which dresses stood out to me so that she could make sure I tried them all on during my appointment. Unlike a few other boutiques I had gone to, they actually had the dresses I chose available at their store so it seems like they actually do a good job of keeping their inventory updated. They also had a wide range of styles at different price points. From the jump, we were welcome to receive waters and other drinks from their fridge. They personalized the area we would be using with a cute sign. Hailey checked in with me and then I tried on the dresses. They were GORGEOUS and high quality. I immediately called Claudia to schedule a trial for both myself and my mother, and Claudia arranged for a makeup artist to be there at the same time to do a trial for both hair and makeup. We loved their work at the trial and booked with them on the spot! Claudia has such a sweet demeanor, and really listens when you tell her what you want your hair to look like--so much so that after my trial I booked a cut and color with her, and asked her to make my hair extensions for the wedding! On the day of my wedding, I arrived to find Claudia there, but no makeup artist. Claudia calmly informed me that the makeup artist would not be able to make it on the day of the wedding (one might freak out about this, but I just had to laugh because everything about my wedding was incredibly smooth, and even this seemingly MAJOR hiccup was quickly resolved). Prior to telling me, Claudia had called around to other makeup artists she works with and found the amazing Jamie Spelber to come and save my face (literally!). While Jamie was en route, Claudia calmly got started on the hair for myself and my bridal party, and the makeup artist arrived shortly thereafter. My bridal party had a variety of different hair types and styles, but Claudia did a beautiful job on each and every one of us! I brought my mom and best friend. We all sat down and she asked what I want to look and feel like in my dress, if I have an idea of what I want (shape, fabric, color, etc), if I've tried any dresses on already, and my price range. We got to browse and point out any dresses for Erin to pull while she went all around pulling any dress she thought I might like. Erin clipped me in so well that I didn't have to tug and adjust the dress while seeing how I liked it. For each dress I got to walk out to the pedestal and check myself out in the mirror and lighting. For each dress, she asked how I felt in it, what I liked, what I didn't like, what I would change... and this all helped her narrow down which dresses to try on or others to grab to add to the list. I got to try different veils (which I didn't know I wanted and it totally completed the look, so now I'm getting a veil) and even go to different lighting to see what natural lighting would look like on the sparkles too. When I found the dress, I got to participate in the Mon Amie tradition of making a wish for myself, my fiancé, and my marriage, then ring the bell and celebrate! Measurements were taken and a detailed contract was written up with pricing and a quote for alterations. Parking was easy & there is a bathroom in the back! There was a ginormous selection of dresses of all fits, fabrics, and styles.

Unfortunately, my presentation appointment this past weekend was very different. I invited my maid of honor and future mother-in-law since it was just my mom and I during my initial dress shopping appointment. I expected a similar, celebratory moment, but it felt more like a quick errand. We were placed in a small back room, the appointment felt rushed, and there was little of the hospitality I experienced before. The biggest issue was trying on my dress. It didn't fit, which was stressful and disappointing, but obviously no one's fault. That said, I wish the staff had taken a more discreet and thoughtful approach, like adjusting or clipping the dress before bringing my guests in. Instead, my guests were brought in while the dress was visibly unfastened, and the conversation focused on fit issues. I was also asked about my weight in front of everyone, which felt uncomfortable and could have been handled more privately. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially compared to such a strong first impression. I still love my dress and hope this was just a one-off, and that the alterations process will be more positive. I'd just recommend managing expectations and not treating the presentation appointment as a special occasion for guests.
