My husband and I booked Thomas for our May wedding more than 1 year in advance after we met with him for a consultation. I'm so happy to say that we can look back at our wedding and just remember how thankful we are that we did so. A little info about me... I am an OCD perfectionist type of person, and when it came to planning our wedding- I would be stressed out about every little detail and our wedding timeline (the limited amount of hours we contracted with our venue was from 6 to 11 PM- we were worried that it was too short!). However, after meeting with Thomas and exchanging e-mails throughout the engagement, he eased the stress and definitely was there when we needed him. Thomas is professional, experienced, reliable, easy to reach, detail-oriented, organized, and just an awesome wedding coordinator. Thomas was there during important meetings/appointments. We went over details during our menu tasting with our venue and I remember my husband (fiancé at the time) mentioning how much he appreciated Thomas because he asked our venue questions that we did not even think of. We met again with Thomas about a month before the big day, and he helped us organize final details and our final timeline. Thomas gave us his advice and his opinions when we needed it. Thomas was at our rehearsal day on time and ran our rehearsal SO smoothly (mind you, I had a huge Filipino wedding; for the ceremony we had: 6 pairs of godparents, 2 grandparents, 2 ushers, 1 dog, 3 flowergirls, 2 ringbearers, 9 bridesmaids, 9 groomsmen, our parents, plus the groom and I. I don't know if that was his first ginormous bridal party, but if it was- oh my goodness, I don't know how he did it!) On the wedding day, Thomas and his assistant Olivia stopped by the Bridal Suite when I was getting my make-up done, said his hello's, and was off to do what he does best. I trusted them with everything and was NOT stressed out AT ALL on our wedding day! He would check up on my husband and I a few times throughout the evening to make sure we were at ease with everything, and we were... ALL BECAUSE OF HIM! Our friends and family even mentioned to us that Thomas is not only funny/friendly, but that he definitely knew what he was doing. Our wedding ran on schedule/time like we planned so! Thomas is the absolute best! He helped me plan my engagement proposal in 2016 and also helped plan our wedding in April 2018. He has been there for me for some of the most important events of my life and I am forever grateful for his guidance and expertise. The best advice I got after I got engaged was to hire a wedding coordinator! My friends said that it was worth it to pay someone else to sweat the small stuff on your wedding day! The first time we met Thomas, we knew he would be perfect! Thomas is AMAZING! I was very stressed before and during the wedding and he was ways there to calm me down! Before the wedding he met with us and helped get everything in order. He is fast, efficient, and on top of everything! We booked Thomas for our month-of-coordinator and absolutely loooooved every second with him. He was a recommendation from a friend and I couldn't have asked for a better person to help on such a big day! Thomas is very thorough and professional but you can also feel totally comfortable around him. The month before the wedding, I turned over my workbook to him and he took over the coordination with our vendors. I never had to deal with any timeline issues or problems with set-up or clean-up. We discussed our "must-have" items and he made sure that was a priority. He even brought up some brilliant decor ideas that I probably wouldn't have even considered. He had a specific timeline for our rehearsal the night before which made herding cats a breeze. Everyone was really comfortable knowing what would be happening the next day. My wedding day couldn't have been better! There were little hiccups here and there throughout the day (there always are) but one thing I greatly appreciated about Thomas was his approach to handling them. If it was something that needed my attention, he would address it with me, tell me what he was doing to take care of it and when it will be done. I just recently had my wedding at the Japanese Friendship Garden and Thomas was recommended by them. It was literally the best decision about the wedding. I hired him for the month of service and I honestly couldn't have pulled it off without him. All of my family live out of state so I was basically on my own. Thomas was our day-of coordinator for our 0717/2015 wedding at the Martin Johnson House in La Jolla. We had a ton of DIY and personal elements, and knew we wanted someone who would be able to implement all of our ideas without having to rely on friends and family that day. Thomas delivered all of this and more for us, and was a true pleasure to work with! We initially met with Thomas months ago, and we felt that he was a great match for us personally. He told us he would be more a month-of coordinator, which he absolutely lived up to. Creating and sending out our timeline to vendors, running our rehearsal the day before, doing a walk-through with our caterer at the venue, giving us suggestions on details...the list goes on! Thomas came and picked up our decor the week before from our house (a huge relief in the midst of wedding week craziness as we had a lot of out-of-town guests). Day of, he set up everything flawlessly. When I arrived, he said the only element he seemed to have missed was the pens for our guestbook - which I then realized was completely on me, as I forgot to pack them! He of course improvised by finding some writing utensils somewhere or other! We truly had boxes upon boxes of decor, homemade desserts, handmade flower arrangements, etc., and he did such an amazing job of setting everything up as we asked, and in many cases where we didn't specify how it should be laid out, he used his creativity to make it look amazing. From the bride: We first saw Thomas working a wedding as we toured a venue we were considering for our wedding. My first impression was what a hard worker he was. While we got his card because many venues required a day of coordinator, I thought I could handle everything else on my own and a coordinator would be a back-up for day-of if we had to hire one. The planning stress began as a couple of months passed, and we happened to see Thomas a second time while we were walking at Balboa Park. He was so hard at work he didn't even notice us standing there. His work ethic spoke for itself, and I knew I needed help at this point so we called him and I met with him the following week. I don't even know where to start in describing the best decision we made in hiring Thomas to be my partner in planning our wedding. From day 1 on our "wedding team", Thomas was there to answer any questions I had, give me feedback on any ideas I was thinking of, help me choose the best vendors, take me to supply stores to pick up creative decor pieces, and support me in staying on track with timelines (we planned our wedding in 6 months). My dog died one month before the wedding and I was a mess. I remember meeting with a vendor and I couldn't even focus and Thomas was so supportive at the meeting, jumping in and asking all the important questions and taking notes for me to review when I had a clearer mind. The week before the event, Thomas was nothing short of exceptional. He helped coordinate picking up supplies for me and he even hand painted some candles. He coordinated the entire rehearsal and picked up everything that we would need to set up for our wedding day, including cocktail ingredients for his signature fantastic lemonade drink he prepared for our outdoor reception. I wish I had known how smoothly the day was going to go because I wouldn't have been so stressed out. Much of that is because of Thomas though. I was never exposed to anything that didn't go perfect, and when something did go wrong, he jumped in and fixed it immediately. My husband's car was at the ceremony and we had no way to get his car to the reception so Thomas had his assistant drive it to the reception. He did the same at the end of the night- driving it up to our home which was not too far from the reception as well so we could enjoy our after party. My throw bouquet never showed up but that was no big deal to Thomas. Within minutes he had taken flowers from our huge sweetheart table arrangement and made a perfect throw bouquet. He was also amazing at checking in throughout the day and night to make sure we were okay. These details are just a few examples of why our friends and family were so impressed by him, but no one was more impressed than us. By the end of the night, I was genuinely sad that I wouldn't be working with Thomas anymore. Thankfully, we have stayed in touch and I consider him a dear friend now. I would recommend Thomas to any bride looking for support before or even just during her wedding and tell you that to say he goes above and beyond is an understatement. I can't imagine how much more stressful our day would have been without him and my memories of our wedding day are stress-free and beautiful. Having Thomas support us made all the difference. Underpriced! Underrated!! Unbelievable!!! Thomas was worth double what he charges for his incredible, full-service wedding coordination. Even though it's considered week-of/month-of service, he is really there as a mentor throughout the entire planning process. He constantly updates the details of the wedding day and as he puts it "strives to know as much about your wedding as you do." -- Which he does. When it comes to the question of coordination, the old line "they'll call all your vendors and make sure they know where to be and when" just doesn't describe the level of service, nor the peace of mind that comes from someone like Thomas. He is your ambassador for every vendor and will foresee and solve problems, make suggestions from his vast wedding experience, pair you with great vendors, and do so much of the physical work the week of the wedding that you wouldn't believe how inexpensive he is. Think about these things: -Who is going to get your alcohol to the wedding if you're bringing your own? -Who is going to bring all your decor to the wedding? -Who is going to run your rehearsal if you don't want to pay your officiant to do so? Officiant's aren't really needed for a rehearsal anyway. Who is going to: -make sure programs get passed out? -chairs/tables/decor are lined up correctly? -guests go where they are supposed to go? -all your tips get in the right hands? -all your gifts (and envelopes) are safely cared for? -changes are made on the fly if anything doesn't go according to plan. can you imagine a wedding where something doesn't go exactly to plan? shocking right?? Can you assign people to do all these tasks? Sure it's possible, and I'm sure your father/mother/uncles/aunts/best friends really want to be in charge of loading gifts in an SUV, lugging alcohol to a wedding an hour early, tracking down vendors they've never met to give them cash, getting dressed an hour ahead of schedule so they can spend time decorating a wedding venue with no blueprint and without your oversight. As you can see, if you didn't already know, your wedding day will go insanely fast, and the people you'd normally trust to help probably really don't know much about your big day because they haven't been working with you for the past 6+ months to make a blueprint and know exactly how you want everything to go. But Thomas Lewis has... and by the time your magical day rolls around, he will know exactly what you want, and he'll be honestly thrilled to make it go exactly that way. Better than I could have ever expected! He saved my wedding! The worst thing possible happened, our venue cancelled on us 10 days before our 200 person wedding. Even after signing a contract 2 years before with them. I guess they were getting sued. I couldn't believe it. However, I am so thankful that I hired Thomas because he dreamed up a whole new plan for our wedding at a new location. He met with my mom and I at the new venue the day after the cancellation. He was always available for us and answered even the smallest questions. I don't know how he pulled it off with such short notice but, our wedding was absolutely perfect! During the wedding we had a few minor annoyances, which was expected, but he always made it seem like everything was under control. Our wedding party was 16 ppl and 3 children, Thomas did a great job taking charge and letting them know what to do during the ceremony during our rehearsal, in a super nice and polite way. Thomas is a PRO! He knows weddings inside and out. You can trust that he has your best interest at all times! He'll listen to what you want and not take over. He helps with all the little details too. He also has really good recommendations for vendors. We used the catering company he also works for, ENCORE, which was super delicious and even carved a pig for us that we bought elsewhere. They cut our cake and cleaned up after us too. Thomas is one part wedding planner, one part therapist, and one part Mcguyver! I could not recommend him more highly. Thomas was very detailed, very timely, and efficient, while still personable, friendly, and just an all around amazing guy. Coming from a bride who probably needed a planner less than anyone out there, GET A PLANNER! Even though I had an inclusive venue and a relaxed outlook on the details, having Thomas there throughout was indispensable. He would have done more for us had we let him and I have two stories worth telling. First, we were looking at venues and I find myself disinterested in the one we were touring. Boop! I get a text message from Thomas, who is right besides me. He says, "You're not into this place, are you?" I respond saying that's true. He got us out of there in less than 10 minutes and then immediately got our next appointment moved up. My now husband and I loved how efficient and quick he was about everything. During the whole process as well as the wedding it was so comforting to know Thomas was there to take care of anything that might come up so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves. The second story is that throughout the reception he stayed super available and ready to do anything we needed. Seemingly to his disappointment, we kept letting him know that we were awesome and didn't need anything. Well 2 minutes after that I was visiting a few people at their table and he appeared with my wine glass, which I then realized I really wanted at the moment. Turns out I did need something and Thomas knew just what that was when I didn't. How did he know! We also found out that our family all somehow got his email address and Thomas was very sure not to let them plan anything he didn't think we would enjoy, thank goodness. I am disappointed to be the first person to write a poor review for Thomas Lewis. My fiance and I found Thomas on Yelp, and we were eager to use him as our day-of wedding coordinator. His prices were reasonable and he seemed like a great fit when we talked on the phone. We agreed to meet at a coffee shop, and Thomas was a half hour late, he claimed traffic was awful. After we met, Thomas still seemed like a great wedding coordinator. Thomas said that he would email me paperwork to confirm. I never received paperwork, and after texting and emailing him, he still has not gotten back to me. My fiance and I are now back to square one in finding a coordinator. Having already seen his work I was worried about how much he might charge but was relieved when I found out he was very affordable....little did I know that not only was he affordable but the value we got for our money is above and beyond what I could have ever expected from someone I hired. Working with Thomas is like having your best friend plan your wedding! He referred me to Anna at Classic Blooms Studio, who was on it right away and created EXACTLY what I pictured and within our budget. Like Thomas, she was also so great and just like a friend to me....she did her job impeccably but always made time to talk, laugh, or have a cocktail. Thomas' great relationship with San Diego Linens completed our vision. He calmed me through planning and all the way through our event, attended to my every need throughout the day, and allowed us to really enjoy our day with no worries! He followed up after to make sure we had all our after event details in order and came by our house the next day to check in with us and personally drop off our signed marriage license. Here is the BEST part: Thomas found out that we would incur extra expense to have our canopy and chairs delivered in the morning before our Saturday, daytime wedding. He asked that they be the last delivery of the evening on Friday instead, and then he AND Anna slept in sleeping bags on the beach beneath the canopy ALL night to guard everything! Just another small detail of the so very many that blew me away....Thomas is an amazing person, a consummate professional, and not only is he great at what he does in terms of creativity and attention to detail, but he truly puts love into each and every event. Thomas was my coordinator for my 10/6/12 wedding. he was absolutely amazing! for course all weddings have a few mishaps, but thomas handled everything so incredibly gracefully and professionally! what was even more amazing, is AFTER the wedding, thomas kept in touch with me to make sure I had help taking care of after wedding responsibilities. Thomas was the absolute best wedding coordinator! My husband and I are thrilled he was our wedding coordinator-he was highly recommended by our wedding venue, the Japanese Friendship Garden, and we totally understand why! I found Thomas on Yelp and immediately felt at ease at the first consultation. He genuinely cares and advocates for you during a very stressful and expensive time. He was not available to coordinate the day of our wedding so we were in the hands of his wonderful lead coordinator Candace. He also introduced me to my make up artist, DJ and florist all of whom were excellent and hard working. On top of all that his rates are very reasonable!!! Thomas was a bad ass. If you've seen Sex and the City and remember Charlotte needing help planning her wedding but she was too shy to tell people what she wanted so she hired Anthony...a million times over Thomas was my Anthony. He was the voice I needed to get what I wanted for my wedding. He agreed to be my day-of-coordinator about a month before the wedding and started assisting me from that moment until the day after my wedding (picking up excess alcohol and decor). He was on schedule (the bridal party was not), he was friendly, he was assertive (but never in a rude way), he was personable. He was exactly what I needed that day. Let me tell you, anything that I had sole control of went wrong, anything Thomas touched that day went beautifully. He was one of my best decisions I've made while planning my wedding. I would have been in the fetal position crying all ngiht had it not been for him. We had a very rowdy party and he was very forgiving and willing to work with some crazy people. I would hire again in a heartbeat. Thank you a million times over for being there with a drink when you saw me on the brink during the reception. Thomas is the best!! He is completely worth every penny as he is the most efficient, enthusiastic, exuberant person I've ever met. He was our day-of-coordinator for our wedding at ZLAC rowing club in Pacific Beach on 7/23/16. We had an absolutely amazing day and it was all thanks to Thomas. He made sure all of our vendors were running smoothly and on time. He even went on a last minute wine run when we were running low on supplies. He was so calm through the entire day and having him run the show was a big relief. I had several guests rave about his efforts and ask for his contact information for upcoming events. I had Month of service, so Thomas helped me with rentals and layout of our reception, and also day of services. He was amazing. He went through the rehearsal with us, and on the day of the wedding he became the go to person for all of our vendors. He took a lot of stress off of me as well as my family. It's easy to see the pride he takes in his work, our reception looked amazing, and we had family members ask us "who is that guy that's running around everywhere?" because they could see he was working hard and doing a great job. He impressed everyone. I had a lot of things that I had purchased for decorations, and I had a candy bar that I purchased all of the candy and dishes for, so Thomas had a lot to set up in the limited amount of time that our venue allowed. There wasn't anything left undone, everything looked perfect, you would have thought he spent the whole day working on the room when he only had a couple of hours. Thomas went above and beyond when he found time to take our gifts to our room for us so we wouldn't have to worry about that. I have no idea when he even did that, because he was always around when I needed him, he is magic! Thomas was the first coordinator I met with, and after meeting with him I cancelled all of the appointments I had made with other coordinators, I knew he would do an amazing job and I was right, and I would highly recommend him to anyone! read more

One of our close friends got married in San Diego last year and he highly recommended Thomas. Our initial meeting with Thomas went so well that we knew wanted to hire him. Thomas Lewis is 100% AMAZING! He was our day-of coordinator for our wedding at the Coronado Community Center on 6/24/2016. I couldn't agree more with all of the previous writers of his 5 star reviews. Thomas deserves 10 stars. He is exceptional at his job and is way underpriced, especially because he actually acts more like of a month-of coordinator. He was very professional, prompt, reliable, friendly, and knowledgeable about vendors and venues in the San Diego area. I was planning my wedding from Northern California, so it was a huge help to be able to e-mail Thomas with questions regarding San Diego vendors and he was always helpful and quick to respond. He also has outstanding multi-tasking skills as everything at my 200 person wedding ran incredibly smooth and I received dozens of compliments. It's obvious that Thomas works well with people even under stressful or unpredictable conditions. It was a huge relief for him to be in charge of all the small details so I didn't have to stress about anything, especially regarding set-up, clean-up, or coordinating anything with vendors (e.g., officiant, DJ, band, caterer, florist, rentals, venue coordinator, etc.) on our big day.
