Best fish place I've had in Wisconsin. I don't know what they put in the batter, but I will judge all others against them this one. It's the best!!! The fish is tasty, light, scrumptious and crunchy with the nice softness in the center. The all you can eat salad bar has soup options. I love the French onion!!! When traveling through Wisconsin, my husband and I came to the Wedge Inn Cafe to get some breakfast. This quaint cafe is true small town Wisconsin. We ordered the cinnamon roll, pecan roll, and blueberry pancakes. The blueberries were baked into the pancakes and were sweet and not sour. The pecan roll and cinnamon roll, however were very sweet and delicious. I highly recommend Wedge Inn Cafe! read more

We were in town for a wedding and another guest recommended Wedge Inn. It didn't disappoint. Reminds me of all the cozy little diners we had growing up -- in the best possible way. I had Texas toast with sausage and gravy and it was so much better than I ever had as a kid. My husband got the corned beef hash meal and also loved it. Def a good little spot with friendly folks. My wife, daughter, and granddaughter, and I today visited Wedge Inn East for breakfast for the first time for all of us based on what I had seen online. However, we will no be returning and this was a "one and done." We were all sorely disappointed. It took 45 minutes after ordering for our food to arrive after our server twice told us "It's on it's way. This was even more bothersome as the restaurant was 20-25% full, if that. My wife's French Toast arrived only a couple of degrees above cold and they were flavorless/bland. Both my daughter's and my pancakes flavor was also were also flavorless/bland and our sausage patties were flavorless. The bacon in my daughter's omelet was terribly burned and she had to pick it all out. We did not return any of these items as we did not want to wait, perhaps, another 45 for their return from the person(s) who'd messed them up in the first place. I don't usually respond like this but there were just too many failings to stay silent. read more

Food is amazing, but the hours are limited due to the lack of help, so we have seen wait times as long as 45 minutes. They are only open till noon and do not do take out orders past 9am. Came here on the way in to Wisconsin and on the way out a few days later, that's how much we loved it. Waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Good was very well priced and tasted very fresh. The best country fried steak I've ever had, it was tender and extra crispy. They make the hashbrowns to order so they take a little longer but they're miles above frozen ones. My mother decided to come in here today for her birthday, her day, her choice, not mine. First of al I realize there is no restaurants on this side of town, so they are always busy. I get it. But when waiting for a table I saw a few available and was promptly told that they like to save those for some regulars. I always thought waiting for tables was first come first served. In this place if your a regular they give you preferential service. Maybe all diners are like that. I dont know. The food is nothing to write home about, typical breakfast. Had a reuben recently. Different take and it was delicious! Instead of the usual sliced corned beef, there was a generous portion of corned beef that looked like the chef cut a big chunk off the brisket, chopped it and put the usual toppings on the light rye grilled bread. Grilled to perfection and not greasy or soppy. Minor dings - light rye, not dark. Wish there were more chips. Definitely will return. read more

We tried out this little spot for the first time today. It was really busy and all the tables were full (or blocked off for social distancing) so we sat at the counter. I got the Mexican omelette and hash browns. Best hash browns ever! They're made fresh with a nice crisp to them. Omelette was awesome, too. They won't do any carryout after 9am. I was told it is "for the boys in the kitchen". What!!? I guess they don't want to inconvenience their kitchen staff for customers? I said, but if I sit down at the counter, it's the same order, so what is the difference? She could not explain - she just follows the rules. Well, the rules are ridiculous. Lost a customer, and others that may have gone via word of mouth. This morning we got our omelettes Togo because of the weather. This breakfast food can't be beat!! The only complaint that I would have is that there is a more limited menu after a certain time of day. We came in after I had a procedure at the hospital that I had to fast for. My mouth was watering for a wedge in supreme omelette. We went in and were told that the menu was different and smaller after a certain time so I couldn't get it. Back to this morning though, this was an amazing omelette even though it was Togo. We highly recommend the wedge in for breakfast. Been going to the Wedge for years and it is usually good but today I was very disappointed. Got there at 6:59 a.m. (they opened at 7) and understandably doors were locked but we could see someone already at the counter having coffee and after we finally went in (after 7 until they unlocked) his waffles arrived in front of him, question is how and why was he already seated and ordered when restaurant was still closed, not an employee, elderly man with hat and coat. Waitress brought coffee and said I'll drop this other coffee off and be right back to take your order. After dropping other coffee off she proceeded to take other orders and finally come back to us, we were probably the fifth to order, she knew when we arrived as she came right over to ask what we wanted to drink. Pancake was very dry and syrup too sweet. Bacon seemed to be microwaved. Took a cinnamon roll and a nut roll home for later. When I got home and looked at the rolls the icing on the cinnamon roll was actually hard and the top of the roll on one side looked burnt. Cut off small piece and placed in microwave and frosting didn't get much better and roll tasted burnt. Not sure if I will go back or not; if so, it will be a very long time. The breakfast is delicious-they make home made hash browns, home made jams, everything is home made! They have gorgeous cinnamon rolls, pecan rolls, and donuts. This is our second time coming. The food is decent. Nothing to write home about, but not bad. Unfortunately, if you aren't one of their "regulars", you may not get a table (even if the restaurant is 1/2 empty when you get there). We went there for breakfast and there were several empty tables but were told they they were all being saved for regulars. When we questioned it, the waitress was very snarky and finally said," fine! I can give you a table, but only if you promise not to stay more than 20 minutes, because I need the table for someone else in a half an hour." I am not even sure where to start...the food, the service, the coffee, the food!! It was absolutely delicious and the service was like you were part of the family. I had the southern style Benedict and the gravy was buttery and creamy packed with flavor. The pancake was melt in your mouth delicious. My husband had the supreme omelette and you could taste the freshness of all the veggies. My son had the eggs Benedict and the sauce was lemony and smooth beyond fantastic. Four of us came into the restaurant on a Friday morning for breakfast because we enjoy the food, which is good. Usually the service is good as well. On this particular day there were several open tables throughout the restaurant. However, we could not be seated because they were all being "saved" for other customers, obviously regulars who come in every day. This is not the way to encourage customers to come back. When we questioned this, the hostess got very rude to us. We went to another restaurant down the street and had not trouble getting a table from a "friendly" hostess. Called for a pick up order last week and was told they don't accept 'to go' orders after 9:00 - so we called before 9:00 this week and was told they don't do 'to go' orders. Lack of organization makes other options more appealing when considering the frustration. read more

This restaurant has a comfortable and homey feel. Definitely caters to an older clientele. It is our regular place for Friday fish fry. The cod filets are dipped in a light batter and arrive hot and moist. Family members chose French fries for their potato but I always get their hash browns they are piping hot and golden brown. I do miss the onion they used to put in them. Cole slaw is rather bland...just mayonnaise on precut slaw and the salad is relatively edible. Oh but do get a cinnamon bun. You won't regret this delectable treat. All in all.. the wedge remains my favorite for breakfast and fish fry. read more
