Our waitress was great! Extra friendly and helpful. We started with the loaded waffle fries. I forgot to get a photo, but they were delicious. They stayed warm, the cheese was gooey, and just enough banana peppers. The location is great and I love that there are so many TVs inside. For our meals, we had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, the Cajundillas and the Boom Boom Shrimp tacos. Everything is full of flavor. Good portion sizes. The chicken sandwich had two huge pieces of chicken on it. We also had a hush puppies and they were delicious. We will definitely be back next time we are passing through.

It works well for lunch, dinner with family or friends, or even a casual date night. I started with the alligator bites appetizer, followed by the ribeye sliders and fries, and finished with an espresso martini. The sliders were tender, flavorful, and seasoned well. The alligator bites were crispy and not chewy. The espresso martini had a great coffee flavor with a hint of sweetness that not only quenched my thirst but served as my dessert as well.

The pizza and breadsticks were a hit across the table. I decided to try the Korean fried chicken because I was curious, and I'm never passing up a good wedge salad. Both were easily 10/10. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Thankfully, there was no wait, so we were seated immediately. We chose to sit outside since the weather was perfect. The outdoor seating was under a canopy, and the ground had this rocky/rubble vibe that gave it a cool outdoor patio feel. We grabbed a table near the TV so we could watch the basketball game. One thing I really liked was the activity table where you could color, play board games, or do trivia. They also had ping-pong, cornhole, and other cute activities for little kids, which made the atmosphere feel really fun and family-friendly. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to order, but I went with the Cobb salad. It was good, but I definitely needed extra dressing plus some salt and pepper to bring out the flavor. I'd come back for sure, but next time I'll probably try something different since the salad was just okay. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to bringing my family back to check this place out!

We lucked out with seats at the bar and got to skip the 45 minute wait for a table. Small, little, somewhat burnt, STEAMING HOT, not-so-buttery and not-so-cajun-ish corn on the cobs. Next we have the chicken. I would've rather grown a chicken, killed it for some wings, made a hat with its feathers and made sensory toys with its eyes The buns were probably the best part. The lettuce was cut smaller than you could ever imagine, the chicken had a good amount but tasted like it was drowned in Franks Red Hot Sauce. The tomato was a tomato This isn't all the restaurant though. The other times I visited here were AMAZING The times I sat in the big room were good because, there were TVs to save my boredom, the built in chargers were neat, and the food was just better! BRING BACK THE TVS THAT SHOW WHAT MUSIC IS PLAYING PLS Thank you for listening to me yap!

It has been over ten years since my original review of Fort Ben Pub, a locally owned pub and grill…read moretype establishment located in the Fort Ben area in the same strip center that includes Moo & Lou's Ice Cream and Phaya Thai. There's a wheelchair ramp in the middle of the building - I'll be honest, I don't quite trust it as I've noticed people in this parking area tend to block it without noticing it. There's also easy access from a ramp at the end of the building. Lawrence has done quite a bit to improve their curb cuts in this area, an area that has grown massively since my last review including 2-3 apartment buildings, a library branch, and an improved civic plaza. Fort Ben Pub itself is pretty accessible, though it becomes less so when it's packed (for example, my most recent visit was on a Friday karaoke night and accessibility was definitely more limited). There's two glass doors going inside the pub and, yes, they do offer a few tables on the sidewalk for outside dining. As you enter, you arrive in a large dining area with a beautiful bar to the right. The restaurant is decorated in warm woods with a few televisions of varying sizes and, on this evening, background music playing. On this visit, I was with a festival after-party that was placed off the main area in a smaller area that had two pool tables along with a variety of food/appetizers, etc. It's a cozy room that gave me a chance to check out the rest of the building. I did see the restrooms, which I would definitely not consider accessible - plan accordingly. I could possibly get in the door of the men's restroom, but it was quite tight and I have a smaller chair. This is a beloved place for a friend of mine who lives nearby and within walking distance. They treat her well. She was there during this visit, and I honestly just smiled at their clear affection for her (it's mutual). I love places that become community, and knowing this makes me want to return. That said, my accessibility concerns do somewhat limit my options. Fort Ben Pub does offer space for private events/groups and does catering. They have pool tables, Putt Putt live, Mega Touch, and Golden Tee and most of the sports network channels. While I'd tried both their tenderloin and burger in the past, I had a variety of items this time around due to the after-party, though not everything it seems was on the menu (or I'm just not recognizing it). As I noted previously and my friend also proves, the employees are super friendly and helpful. There are definitely times when it gets busy, though it's also pretty easy to come here during slower times. This particular visit was the first time I'd experienced accessibility issues. There's an awful lot to love here. I have to say that while I wasn't in the room with karaoke, the people were having a blast with such sincere enthusiasm that I was almost in awe. I've done karaoke one time in my life, and I don't think there's enough alcohol in the world to fuel another attempt. I also know from being close to the folks at Moo & Lou that these businesses watch out for each other - which I really like as it's a nice little safety factor. In the end, my star rating isn't changing but my appreciation for Fort Ben Pub has grown. This visit made me want to return in the near future, and it made me grateful for those places where you can get so comfortable that it feels like the people become part of your village. That's Fort Ben Pub.
