Wegmans works really hard to keep its customers happy. A good example of this is the Wegmans on James St. Just a year ago, the parking lot was tough to navigate and the store itself was short on options when stacked up against other stores in the area. Fast forward to a year later. They have recently finished making some changes to the parking lot so it's easier to get in and out (and more changes are still in the works it seems) and they have completely renovated the dine in area of the store. Instead of going in and feeling cramped while ordering a sandwich and having very little options for hot food, Wegmans completely shifted the store around and installed a much bigger prepared foods area. This is a major win for those of us who work in the area and want to have choices for a lunch on the go. Each day you can now select from an expanded sushi bar, sandwich station, pizza, hot foods bar, or the robust salad bar. I feel like I could come here each work day and get a great meal. There is a lot of gushing about Wegmans around here, and it is not unwarranted. The James St store does not get 5 stars, as others have mentioned it's a bit smaller than the others and doesn't have quite the space or selection, but it is still Wegmans, and they have worked hard to make it better. read more

Wegmans needs to work on their Covid 19 app and make the scheduling easier. I am an experienced computer user and found the app to be clumsy to navigate. Also kudos to the pharmacy on Niagara Falls blvd Amherst NY, they were flexible and courteous in helping us get the vaccine booster whereas Alberta Drive was not !!!! read more

I have been a pharmacy for 4 years. I previously, wrote a favorable review on this pharmacy when I first started using them. The past year there has been issue after issue! THERE IS NO LONGER ANY COMMUNICATION OR CUSTOMER SERVICE! with the exception of the one Pharmacist , DAN...WHO SEEMS TO CARE AND GENUINELY TAKES PRIDE IN HIS CRAFT. Unlike a rude clerk named Calvin ( not sure if he's a pharmacist? But definitely rude and sarcastic) , FORGET CALLING THE STORE...YOU ARE PUT ON HOLD FOR AT LEAST 15 TO 20 MINUTES. WHEN YOU DO GET THROUGH FINALLY...IT IS RARE YOU GET A SATSFACTORY RESOLUTION . THE TEAM SEEMS OVERWHELMED AND IRRITATED TO HELP . I GET ALL MY MEDICATIONS THERE. WHICH IS ABOUT TEN. THEY ARE HIGH DOLLAR SCRIPTS. I'm considering switching to another pharmacy. I really love the convenience of grocery shopping and getting my scripts at the same time. The store is well stocked. The Ghetto Wegmans...but it's still better than 95% of the grocery stores in America. Not nearly as douchey as the Manilus/Dewitt/Fayetteville Community Center (aka Dewitt Wegmans). read more

I will say right up front that although I often shop at the Wegman's in Dewitt, Wegman's is definitely not my favorite place to shop. They have eliminated almost all the brand name foods in lieu of their own store brand and their prices are considerably higher than other stores in the area. The store on James Street is especially bad. I stopped by on a Tuesday night as I wanted to pick up a couple $6 meals and did not want to drive to Dewitt. I got to the Deli and picked out Lemon Garlic chicken for my entree - usually the chicken pieces are pretty good size but today they were about the size of a chicken tender. I was shocked to see the clerk put only one in my box - given their size I would have thought I would get at least two. When I commented on it he said, "yeah, they are kinda small today but you still only get one". Needless to say, I handed him back the box I already had and said don't bother with the other one. Without my $6 meal, I headed over to the rotisserie chicken case only to find the chickens looked almost raw - the skin was barely cooked! I can't imagine they were actually cooked all the way through. So, I went off shopping to get something to make. The store was filthy, shelves had not been restocked or faced in some time. Meh! Now I remember why I make the drive out to Dewitt when I have the need to visit a Wegman's. If you need groceries on the east side of the city, go to Tops at Shop City. You'll spend less and will actually be able to buy something other than the store brand. read more

I first experienced this Wegman's location about one year ago while they were in the process of undergoing renovations SInce I am reviewing post renovations, I will skip the description of the inconveniences I previously encountered . This is an older Wegman's location and is not as fully equipped as other newer, larger locations. It still offers a great variety of fresh sushi, good quality pizza, takeout meals and of course, Wegman's high quality selection of meats, fruits, and other assorted groceries. It is a smaller facility than newer locations but, it still is superior to other local supermarkets. Wegman's is always a bit more expensive but, you will never be disappointed with the quality of their products. read more

We use wegmans pharmacy heavily and they do a pretty good job! I am happy they have a drive through for days that I have all the kids with me, and the pharmacists there are so very helpful and kind! read more

I will never step foot in this store again. I purchased a money gram & when I took it back to return it I was told that although they had no problem taking my money, they do not return the money order, they simply print it. There is no sign advising of this, otherwise I never would have purchased it. The last time I checked, according to Civil Code section 1723, if your return policy does not meet certain expectations, such as receiving a full cash, credit, or combination refund, or being able to return the merchandise for at least seven days, the retailer is required to post the return policy. read more

It's Wegmans. Enough said. This particular store is smaller than other Wegmans. So the selection is not as vast as, say, the DeWitt Wegmans. But I wouldn't grocery shop anywhere else. read more

I'm from the Mid-Atlantic, where all the Wegmans are new and huge. This is an old, small Wegmans, but it's still a pretty nice store.

We visited this store tonight because is closest to our hotel. I won't be going back. Old and small, so I do prefer shopping at other locations. read more

From what I've seen, Wegmans is the East Coast equivalent of a Whole Foods but not quite as fancy. They had everything I was looking for and I was especially impressed by their ample selection of fruit and stacks of candy bins. The store layout can be a bit confusing. However, they sell so much stuff there that I was able to put together a cute gift basket of snacks and treats in 10 minutes. Now that's good selection! read more

I love Wegmans and it's the only place my family and I will shop. The produce is the best, the bakery and bulk sections are miles above any other chain in the world, and the stores are generally less vermin-filled than the other grocery chains around the area. read more

I love wegmans. This is a smaller store not a super center. It's close to my house. I love that they have several items to accommodate people. Such as vegan,gluten free,lactose free, all natural etc. I would say this is the biggest selection in a grocery store. All the food they make is very good. It is a bit pricey but there also one of the top stores to shop at. Awsome subs,prepared food,bake goods,friendly people working. They listen to there customers needs to help make them a better store. Great produce which I can count on being good. read more

I usually do my shopping at this Wegmans. The stockers, and cashiers are all willing to help. I know where everything is, well usually. Since they changed the James St store around, I still have trouble finding things. At least it's smaller than Fayetteville and it doesn't take all day to find your way around. read more

Anytime someone from out of state comes to New York and they experience Wegman's they never want to go back to their home's grocery store. Wegman's has it all, including a pizzeria, a cafe, their own house coffee baristas, an amazing deli and bakery, and the famous "Half Moon Cookies". read more
