Needs better security. I paid for 16 items on 10/18/18. After loading my purchases in my car, I realized I did not have the cold items I'd purchased. I checked my cart, rechecked the packages in my car, but could not find the sirloin steaks and ham steak I'd paid for. I returned to the cashier and asked if I had left a bag behind. She did not have it at her register. I went to Customer Service and explained the problem. After 15 minutes, Customer Service replaced the steaks and the ham. It wasn't until I got the groceries home and unpacked that I realized I was also missing the deli items I'd paid for. Since this store is a good distance from my home, it's not cost-effective to return to try to replace the deli items. I will not be shopping at this store again. read more

Great selection and variety of fresh produces, meat, wine, cheese, seafood, etc. Also I'll mention that they have a good selection of Organic food, which is a huge plus! I love the bakery and the bread tastes wonderful, but a bit pricey. I went to school in Central NY so I'm very familiar with Wegmans. So glad that there is one in my neighborhood now that I can go to. I haven't been to other supermarkets since going to Wegmans. The cleanliness and selection just cannot be compared. But maybe I am biased since I love it so much~ By the way, I actually hesitated a bit to provide positive feedback due to the unbelievable crowd I often experience in Wegmans. This Wegmans was the first one I'd ever been to, and it's a great grocer. Tons of produce selections, and tons of space to wander through and find some really interesting foods. The beer and wine selections aren't bad either. The deli/charcuterie is great. The attached market cafe is nice to have as a fallback for a quick lunch or dinner. As with any Wegmans I think, prices for some items are really outstanding (such as Wegmans branded products or things they have on special promotion), while some other items can get a bit pricier than the competitions'. A downside of Wegmans is the meat and seafood selection. Meats are pricey on most cuts and have a limited selection available in vacuumed packs. I hate that. Give me a butcher who will get my specific cuts or minces to me wrapped in paper, and don't vacuum-seal ready-packs (it doesn't do the product any better and makes it worse in my opinion). Seafood selection is not particularly inspiring either. I'd rather like to see fresh fishes on ice that can be prepped by fishmongers instead of everything already precut and sitting in a plexiglass case. The checkout lines here can get ridiculous with the massive amounts of surburbanite families bombarding the place. Otherwise, Wegmans is a great grocer experience. read more

I know right now it is tough for everyone working and being exposed to the public amid the Corona Virus, however that is not an excuse for the employees to ignore customer service. Wegmans needs to do better, it is great they have tape on the floors, etc., but how about instructions with the tape? It is great that you have one exit, but how about some instructions with that corded off area. The security guard should not be engaging customers unless there is a reason. If a customer ask a question re the direction or change he should just answer the question and keep the commentary. That guy chirped from the time I asked him a question about the change until walked out of the door. How could you not love Wegmans? I mean honestly. What other grocery store can you buy EVERYTHING at and grab a delicious meal while you're there? My mom goes there often to get a particular brand of kosher cream cheese they don't sell anywhere else up in Northern VA. They definitely have a huge selection, especially of things that would be rare to find anywhere else. They have a great "marketplace" area with a bakery, chocolate shop, deli, seafood counter, cheese shop, sushi bar, sandwich shop, pizza/wings shop, coffee shop, chinese food bar, salad bar, order to go pasta bar, etc and just about every type of cold drink to go with it. read more

Love Wegmans as they have the freshest and highest quality goods out of all the local grocery stores (Giant,Safeway, Harris Teeter, Trader Joes,etc). No real comparison. To top it off if you really compare their prices they are in line with the others. Wish it was closer to our home as we would go there all the time. Found this grocery to be in between Whole Foods and Ralphs. It has the food court section and specialty selection like Whole Foods but at the same time this store is so big it also includes everything else a normal grocery store like Ralphs would have. I was really impressed by their selection of cheeses as they had five fridges full of different cheeses ranging from American to European, soft to firm. Moreover, their deli meat selection isn't bad either though I didn't think too highly of their pastrami cut. read more

Typical Wegmans. Clean and large! I enjoy the prepared foods area and bakery. Quality foods and abundant choices.

Wegman's is the best. The store is huge, but unlike Big Box stores, it doesn't feel like a giant warehouse. Instead, it feels like a nice department store for groceries. The bakery is amazing just to look at. The prepared food is so good that you should go there just for lunch. They have all the basics plus a wide variety of international fare, wines, cheeses, deli meat, breads, etc. The best part is: it's cheap! Compared to Harris Teeter, Safeway, Giant or Trader Joe's, Wegman's is a bargain. My only complaint is that there isn't one closer to DC. I make sure to go there every time I'm out in Sterling/Dulles area. read more

What I love about this store....The fish selection is wonderful, the deli counter is always busy but you are waited on quickly. A MUST is to visit the fresh breads and get a free sample from Tony. Know know where the fresh bread is located? Listen for Tony. Mrs Batman loves the breads. There are always sample of different products throughout the store. Fresh produce and quite the selection. There are even 2 sizes of shopping carts. Cashiers are always pleasant. What I do not like about the store. Prices (for the most part) are the same as in other stores in the area. At this time, their milk is MUCH cheaper than the other stores. The Wegman's card seldom has a discount attached to it. Too much clutter in the middle of the store for the seasonal stuff. Despite the drawbacks listed above this is the store that I travel to if I am making a special supper for Mrs Batman. Fresh and a wide selection of products are the key to the store. read more

I decided i need to add a bit more detail to my first review. I still am a fan of Wegmans and all grocery stores pale in comparison. Where to begin: They have a great bakery section that makes amazing breads, i highly recommend these. Their prepared foods are hit or miss, in the past i would eat at their food bars every week however quality has seemed to decline over the past years or at least it is hit or miss. They do make some very good side dishes for take home meals. It took some time but i am warming up to their meat section. They package most of their meat in vacuum seal packages which may be a better way of storing things, they just tend to not make the products look as good. Once i got past looks, the quality seems pretty good. There always seems to be new areas to explore that i have previously overlooked. read more

Wegman's is by far the best grocery store for me! They have everything I need. Once you figure it out, It is easy to get in and out of. The checkout process is not painful, even when they're busy. When the first one opened up in this area, I was a bit skeptical. Now I do all of my weekly grocery shopping here. They have a wide variety of foods (including international selections) and items you probably can't find in your neighborhood grocery stores. The bakery department is superb and filled with delicious fresh baked breads and deserts. The deli department is always busy, but they have ample staff so the wait is not more than a few minutes. There is also a floral department, housewares and even a drive-through pharmacy. If you enjoy entertaining, they have a nice variety of wines, cheeses, and a well-stocked olive bar. When pressed for time, you can pick-up veggie, shrimp and fruit platters. They even have a catering department ready to prepare your next holiday meal. I hate wearing a mask both because it's annoying and stupid, but do it because it's the rule. Then I see multiple people at Wegmans wondering around the store with no mask. Brough it to the attention of multiple store employees, guess what happened, nothing. These people wondered around Wegmans for over half an hour, crossed paths with them multiple times, they left, then came back for more stuff. i heart weggies!! This place is located right next to my work and if I don't go here at least twice a week I get grumpy. They have the best soups, old fashioned subs, hot sandwiches and a huge salad bar. The grocery section is also HUGE. They have a great organic food section, cheeses that go on forever, fresh fruits and vegetables and if you can think of a wine they have it in stock. I just left this Wegman's location, and the cashier did not put an item I paid for in the cart. I called the store, and, after a bit of confusion, the item was located. I understand this sometimes happens and was simply expecting a refund. However, they could not issue me a refund over the phone even though it was crystal clear that the item was left. Very poor customer service. I will be changing my Wegman's location to Chantilly. Wegmans. Where have you been all my life? First let me say that I hate crowds and I get really nervous around tons of people. So Wegamns on a Saturday is not my cup of tea. But the only reason it's so terrible to navigate is because everyone loves it and everyone goes there. That's a pretty good endorsement, if you ask me. If you have the chance to go there when it's not crazy busy, Wegmans will change your life. The produce is top notch. I bought peaches at Harris Teeter in my neighborhood the week before and they tasted like mushy cardboard. Wegmans peaches were divine. The selection alone is worth fighting the crowds! Prices are really good. I'm the kind of shopper that would rather go to one moderately priced place than drive to multiple places just to get a bargain, so Wegmans is perfect for that. You can find everything you need and the prices are really good. May not be the rock-bottom lowest, but I don't care. There are still a few products I go to other grocers to get (authentic Mexican ingredients, for example), but all in all, this is our go-to grocer. LOVE it. read more

I am a HUGE wegmans fan and I swear by this store. I really do feel that I am one of the world's biggest fans of this place, and I feel that Wegmans corporate should pay me commission for how often I rave about this place to people. While the sterling location is the one I usually go to, most of my reviews applies to all wegmans. As soon as you come in you'll get a sense of happiness and coziness (at least for me). These stores will have ALL of your food needs, and more. Meats, vegetables, fruits, etc. It's all there. Their bakery is also really good. Every time a coworker brings in treats such as cupcakes, and we find out it's from wegmans, we know we're about to have a good time. They have a huge beer/wine selection, as well. Price wise, I'd say they're priced like your average grocery store. This is the only place I like doing my grocery shopping, and I hate when I have to go to other grocery stores. I absolutely love Wegman's especially the ones in Virginia! The Sterling Wegman's has practically everything you need. I love the coffee, pizza station, the hot bar area, sushi stand, hot entrees, hot bar, the bakery, the wine selections. Oh on of course the groceries! I could go on and on...On this particular visit I actually just stopped by for coffee but the sample of the spicy salmon roll got me hooked. The fish was fresh and seasoned perfectly with just enough spiciness. My next stop was the bakery samples - seasonal dark cherry loaf. It was delicious. The reason I love the VA Wegmans is because if their extensive wine selection. They have practically everything you need from cheap wines for cooking to more sophisticated selections, as well, beer. There's always some type of tastings and folks to ask questions when you are looking for something particular. I could spend hours in this store. read more

Imagine if Trader Joe's and Whole Foods had a love child. Now imagine that this love child also happened to have a multicultural food court that serves food buffet style. That's what Wegmans is. For $8.99/lb, you can fill a plate up with as much food as you want from all over the world. My personal favorite was the citrus kale salad (you can take the Californian out of California, but you can't take the California out of the Californian) that they offered. There's also some great Southern BBQ options as well - pulled pork was definitely on the better side. As for the groceries, you have all of the in-house options that Trader Joe's and Whole Foods offer you. Typical upscale grocery store fodder. My prayers were answered when Wegmans entered the DC area. What is not to like? If you want a good machiatto, they have it. Want a fresh blueberry bagel with homemade blueberry cream cheese? They have it. And the fruit tarts? Not only beautiful but also delicious. This place is an epicurean's dream. They have actual professional chefs working in their bakeries. The wine and cheese selection is excellent. I cannot say enough good things about this place nor can I spend enough money here : ) They even have sushi! Their frozen food selection offers some treats you can't find elsewhere. There are few things you CAN'T get here. They also have a gorgeous selection of fresh cut flowers and dishware. Whenever I am feeling blue I just go to Wegmans. If you go on a friday night there are several wine and beer vendors. It is like a party at Wegmans. I bring my I.D. and start the tasting tour. I always leave with a smile and a couple new bottles of wine. One day a older gentleman that worked in the wine section helped me find a red wine that white wine drinkers and noobs would enjoy. I was so pleased that the Roscato wine was a hit at the taco party. I typically shop for the home. Everyone gives me some cash for groceries and I buy for the week. I like that the produce section has several weigh stations. It helps for shopping on a budget. It makes the purchase isle a lot quicker too because they just scan the sticker you placed on your bag. The deli ladies are so sweet. One day I was being difficult because I decided I was going to buy ham instead of turkey and tried 5 different hams and then ended up just sticking to turkey. They were so patient and pleasant. Although I rarely eat carbs, I wish that Wegmans had a more extensive grain section. I still buy my rice from Lotte down the road. I really hate to give this Wegman's such a low rating as I have shopped there for 3 years. But the last couple of months has seen a significant decline in their quality. The selection of consumer goods (non-fresh, produce etc), has never been great, but they seem to have a difficult time keeping everything on the shelves. At times, like this evening, the shelves in some sections seem nearly half empty. They run out of mundane things like certain frozen vegetables and corn flakes. I had the same experience in their meat department tonight, with there being very little skinless boneless chicken left, in fact I took one of the last packages. When I got home as I was preparing it I noticed a sulfur smell to the meat that indicated it was going bad., even with an expiration date of Sept 27th (today is the 18th) Produce as well. They have a difficult time keeping things in stock...again mundane things like cucumbers and pears, or bananas. I really hope they get their act together as I have always enjoyed shopping there in the past. The folks who work there are consistently friendly and helpful. read more

Favorite grocery store in town. I get all my food here it comes fresh and easy accès ! I LOVE the beach trail mix! I've consumed almost three bags within a week because I am obese ! It is so delicious. Their sushi bar is amazing. Best sushi at an affordable price with many options. I always get a lot of sushi as well because I am obese. Now I have some favorites I would like to recommend. Compared to Walmart or giant giants these totally outweighs them !!!!!!! Not only is the food great, but can we take some time and appreciate The Cart pushers ? These guys work so hard and the carts are always lined up great and so fantastic. As I am a major in engineering and minor in physiology I can auto magically fell the carts align at a 180 degree angle and slope of 0. They really train these guys well and I hope they get paid well :). It's hard work pushing those carts..I could never ! I am tired by looking at them already as I am over weight and am not used to the physical energy excersion. The auto mated carts are also always fully charged and I love to use them when I feel lazy. This place really is all inclusive and represents diversity and in-discrimination towards the obese. I am overwhelmed by this grocery store and their professionalism. Love the free samples, love the great quality food, love the employees, love the service. One other thing, the people making the sushi are hands down my favorite. They are always so kind and always have a smile on their face just like Obama and Tony. They give me ginger and chopsticks and are just so cool. Can you please open up in the Atlanta area near Decatur? Pretty please?!?! Anyways, I went here while visiting a friend who and b/c I am a foodie. The layout of the store is great. The little stations are adorable. I had a breakfast sandwich made which was tasty (however it was microwaved.) The bakery section is large and has some beautiful cakes. They also have a large "serve yourself" area with an assortment of pastries and cookies. My favorite was the chocolate dipped macaroon cookie.
