I hate grocery shopping but this is my favorite grocery store! All the employees are helpful and friendly but not hovering! Every department is wonderful it's like a dream come true. The parking lot is very spacious and this is a new store location for me so it's not crowded and everything is stocked full - including meat! I had one employee look all over for a cheese even though I said it was totally fine and not to worry. He really went above and beyond. This is the only store I'll come to for my groceries now!

This Harris Teeter is fairly new, very large and beautiful. I didn't get a chance to walk around the entire store. I came twice, once for Starbucks and the second for cake from the bakery. If I were closer, I'd shop at this location more often.

Saved me for getting a Birthday Cake the day before a storm. Had a great choice and they decorated it for me while I shopped. Really great service

I'm a huge fan of Harris Teeter! For quite a while, we've been shopping at their Herndon store. When this one opened, our daughter and I took a look at it and were really impressed. In fact, I told my husband that we were shopping at this store next time. We've now shopped here 3 times and plan to make it our regular "Teet" even though it is farther away from our house than the Herndon one. The Herndon store is just fine---don't get me wrong! We've grown to like the friendliness of the employees there and like how they remember regular customers. In fact, because of that, we were torn as to whether to stop shopping at the Herndon one. However, this new store has really wowed us. It's bigger than the Herndon store so they are able to offer a wider selection of products. The company that does the sushi serves up really fresh fish and much as we like the sushi guy in Herndon, the company in the Sterling store offers up a better product. The new store also has a station where they make fresh pizzas and you can buy by the slice or have a whole pie. We've yet to try it, so I can't speak to how good it is. This last trip, they were giving out samples of freshly made prime rib. The friendly employee told us that every Thursday they offer up a prime rib dinner to go which consists of an 8 ounce slice plus 2 sides for $9.99! We just may try it sometime! The produce section is larger and they offer a wide variety of containers with cut-up fruit. Just looking at the selection, it reminded me of Whole Foods! They also have a drive-through pharmacy window which, I'm sure, is a big help to those who get their prescriptions filled here. Also, there is a Starbucks in the store that offers seating in a private-like nook off to the side. Parking here is far, far better than in Herndon. In Herndon, the lot is small and cramped with some blind corners. Every time I shopped there, I would feel so relieved to have gotten out of there without incident. That said, I'm sure that if you were to shop at this "Teet" on a Friday or Saturday night, you would be dealing with Chuy's customers so finding a spot may be a bit of a challenge. So far, every staff member that we interacted with here has been very friendly. In fact, on one trip a cashier who was sent to the Herndon store to train remembered ringing us up when we shopped at Herndon . Some drawbacks --- We found out that no 2 "Teets" are the same when it comes to the layout. So, if you've shopped at another "Teet", be aware that you will have to get used to this layout. However, on the plus side, they do give out free store maps! The checkout system is somewhat strange as it's a hybrid of Costco's system---cart on the left, customer on the right but there is no conveyor belt, the cashier just takes items out of your cart, rings them up, then bags them. We told one cashier that it looks like more work for her but she said it wasn't all that bad. If you live nearby, do give this store a try! Be sure to get a VIC card so that you can save. Also, if you are over 60, you get a 5% senior discount on Thursdays!

Ordered one time online for pickup and this will be my last time. I grew up with HT and am 25 now, so the definition of a lifelong customer. I waited 25 minutes for them to put the groceries in my car and it was 85 degrees out. The receipt they gave me said $131 and some change even though my online order said $99. I spoke to three managers in a single day because they could not charge me correctly. They did not give me all of the items (which would of come to around $130), so naturally missing 6-8 items would drop it to around $99. They never said sorry and just kept making excuses to the $40 surcharge. This was AFTER speaking to a manager and he added up everything and said "Yes, I am getting a total of $99.92". The next day I spoke to the store manager who just went back to "The charges are correct and we will charge you just shy of $140". Really?! Three managers, five phone calls, for a single online order that took 25 minutes to get put into my car. This store, staff, especially management, are a joke. I am disputing this with my bank because at this point the three managers, dumb, dumber, and dumbest, don't have a clue of what the fuck they are doing.

The location I…read morevisited is the one in this review, but most of the problems are probably due to "corporate policy", which is corporate speak for, we're going to copulate you using a steel brush up your @$$. So I'm in the store, see a discount for watermelon (and bacon and some other things), but you have to 'clip it' electronically, which is already a royal pisser for me: why can't they just discount it automatically at checkout! I mean, I'm already a G*******ed member of their stupid club. But no, let's sit around the G*d store with our stupid phone in our hand while we shop, because that's SOOOOOOO easy and convenient. Try to login, it doesn't take my account information on the app. Why was my app/account logged out in the first place? I confirm my credentials with my password saver, they're correct, but it won't log me in. Seems I'm getting the steel brush treatment right now. Over in produce, prices are by the pound....great, where's the scales because I need two pounds of something. Guess what, no scales anywhere in the Produce section! Now the steel brush is oscillating. I have to heft and guess two pounds. What the hell kind of store sells by weight and doesn't all you to weigh the produce? This kind, apparently. Get my stuff, go to the checkout and argue with the cashier (and it's not her fault, but she has to follow 'policy') to try to get the discounts for the select items without being able to log in on my phone. Manager holds up the line for everyone else for 5 or 10 minutes while dancing some sort of Giant-cultural-religious-liturgical dance before they can actually honor the coupons. Leave, go home: Login on my computer to giantfood.com, using my usual credentials ... you know, the ones that don't work on my mobile phone ... and it logs right on in. WHAT THE ACTUAL F?!! I send a password reset from my mobile phone, thinking I'll fix it, change the password on both the phone and the computer and it will clean it up..... but, the final turd in the punch bowl: Email comes back saying I don't have an account with them. Even though my computer is logged in and shows me the receipt from shopping not even twenty minutes ago. The best answer I have to the fustercluck that is Giant is: foodlion.com

I've always appreciated Cocos Food for its fresh products, fair prices, and especially the kindness of the regular cashiers, who have usually been respectful and professional over the years. On this visit, however, there was only one register open with a long line of more than six people. Since I was in a hurry, I politely asked at customer service if I could check out there instead. The individual there, who appeared to be part of management rather than a regular cashier, initially said yes. Instead of helping me, he then walked away, called over people from the main line, and began assisting them first. After I had already placed my groceries down, he told me to step back and wait while he served others. His tone and behavior felt dismissive, rude, and completely lacking in professionalism. What made this especially frustrating was that the regular cashier at the open register seemed aware of the situation, and in all my years shopping here, I've never experienced this kind of treatment from the normal staff. This felt like poor judgment from someone who may have had a management role, which is even more concerning. I want store management to seriously address this situation. If this person is part of management, then this review is direct feedback that customer service and leadership need improvement. If he is not, then management should still look into this incident because his behavior negatively impacted a loyal customer's experience. I still value the store itself, but respectful treatment matters just as much as good products. I hope this review encourages accountability and prevents other customers from experiencing the same disrespect.

I have always trusted the Giant brand, to include the fact it is one of the only union grocery chains left (cue the jingle "look for...the union label). Bonus buys, gas points, online discounts....this place has everything! This is not the fanciest store (or Giant) in the area, but it is the store where I've gotten to know a few of the long time employees, run in to my friends and neighbors and can find most items with a blindfold on (to be clear, I don't advocate shopping with a blindfold on). The prices are always reasonable, the produce and meat are always fresh and you don't have to feel stressed while shopping. During the peak of the pandemic, their curbside pick-up didn't markup the prices (looking at you Wegman's) and the service was amazing. The store is clean, comfortable and well lit. Most customers wear masks (bonus points) and the employees are always friendly and helpful. Having shopped in other "upscale" grocery stores (looking at you Wegman's), the meat prices are among the best around. I never feel like I am being up-sold or tempted to try the newest boutique items. Giant also has a "yellow tag" markdown system for items that are close to expiration, which I appreciate. We have dozens of grocery choices in this area of Fairfax County, but I always come back to the Giant. It's like the old friend that is always there for you when the new friend lets you down.

We were quite impressed with the produce section as all their fruits and veggies were fresh and the store was very clean. Even though they weren't part of the recipe, we picked up more manzano bananas. Browsing the aisles, I also found some dried tree ear. One thing we saw that we liked was that they had a couple of aisles dedicated to Hispanic foods with one aisle dedicated to Peruvian foods. We were pleased to see that they had Inca Kola and bought some. For those who cook Indian foods, there is an aisle dedicated to those foods. The cashiers we dealt with were friendly. When the cashier we dealt with on our most recent visit saw that we were buying the Inca Kola and manzano bananas, she asked me in Spanish if I needed a shopping bag. Every culture has their own interpretation of taking the basic ingredients of flour, yeast, salt and water and transforming it via various baking methods into their version of "bread." There is a long history of using circular oval shaped ovens in Asia and the Middle East as a way of both conserving space and to efficiently cook foods with even heat distribution and small footprints in otherwise cramped kitchens. In India these ovens are called tandoors while in Japan they are referenced as kamados. Sauson International Grocery has been in operation since 2011, and the owner, who everyone knows as "Mr. Rashid," is of Persian descent having emigrated from Iran. He is always super friendly and willing to answer questions I may have about the wide variety of Middle Eastern spices and foods this place stocks. Don't be surprised if you strike up a conversation with him, and he offers you a cup of wonderfully spiced tea and a cookie or pastry from the delectable dessert case. As some of the reviews have noted, parking is tricky. There is a small covered garage under the building. But you may have to park at the nearby church or on the street and then walk over to the store. This place is well known for their bread, which is being made throughout the day. I came a bit later today, so they had just finished making a few batches. But it's not uncommon to witness skilled bakers kneading and rolling, and then slapping the dough onto the circular metallic oven for a few minutes, before piping hot fresh bread emerges. The bread is amazing. It is pliable, without being overly chewy. It is slightly salty, with a great smoky almost charred flavor. I've had it cut into pieces and then dipped with hummus or rolled into gyros or used to sandwich kabob meat. And believe it or not, it's even pretty good as a PB&J. Everyone, and I mean everyone, I've introduced this product to usually asks: (1). What type of bread is this? and (2). Where can I buy it? Note: As of this review, the current price is $8.05 for FOUR large round pieces of bread. Apart from the bread, there is also a small butcher shop in the back, and a kitchen where hot foods like kabob platters are made. There is also a small seating area in front of the store, where folks can sip tea and relax while enjoying sweets from the display case. Sauson is a really cool place and while I usually go with the intention of only buying bread, it's not uncommon for me to walk out with a few bags of unique Middle Eastern groceries.
