HOW have I not reviewed this Wegman's?!? My husband and I had our first date here!!!! Yes, you read that right. Classy, eh? So this particular location will always hold a special place in our hearts. One of the reasons we picked this place to meet is because of the variety of food options in the cafe area... unfortunately, due to Covid, the cafe is nothing like it used to be. We used to love the self serve hot and cold foods: Chinese, wing bar, salad bar, etc. Nonetheless, we have always LOVED Wegmans subs and that's what we usually get. Chicken Parm sub is amazing! As for the rest of the store, we always loved shopppng at Wegman's. I have to say, the prices here have SKYROCKETED since our visit 2 years ago. I couldn't we live how expensive it is here. Three stars only because they do not offer water refill i.e. water bring your own container and you can refill it like a Glacier service. This is surprising only because they and the rest the state is very conscientious about bringing your own bags and not filling landfill focused.For such a large company, you would think that they would offer refilling water stations with high quality, great-tasting water whenever you need it, even if the store isn't open. Glacier makes reverse osmosis (RO) water in it. Its TDS is 25 - 40ppm, very soft. Also, its price is $0.35 per gallon, so it is so inexpensive compared with bottled water's $1.00 per 8 oz! It should be a part of Wegman's sustainability strategy with the provision of environmentally-friendly bottle refill water solutions that provide chilled, filtered water! read more

I order Wegmans 2Go from here all the time. The curbside pickup is really easy. Even if I shop here, I sometimes order on the app because it's so much easier, and I just pull into the pickup spot before I leave. There's pickup spots on the righthand side looking at the store. They always bring it to me in minutes. I love the ciabatta bread for the subs. Their oil is also really good. Subs or wraps are what we typically get. My husband has tried the wings and a few other things. There's also coupons for free delivery sometimes. If you download the app, you'll get notifications. And it's cheaper than ordering on Doordash directly. As far as a store, it's bigger than some of the other Wegmans around. And check out lines aren't usually long. read more

While I no longer do my core grocery shopping at Wegs (any Wegs) I still find myself at Eastway every other week to pick up odds and ends after the gym or when running errands around Baytowne. I grew up shopping at Chili, spent college shopping at the Pittsford and East Rochester locations, and now live equidistant from East Ave, Ridge Rd, and this location. Eastway reminds me the most of Chili and is a great location with great staff. The coffee shop here is smaller than any other location, which makes sense since I don't think they deal with a big morning commute crowd. The market area is spacious and they have a nice check out process if you park on the side of the building and check out there. Overall another great Wegmans - clean and ready for you anytime of the day. read more

I'm being generous giving Wegmans two stars. For starters the Jewish community is underrepresented when it comes to items for a variety of holidays celebrated...Passover & Hanukkah are the two main ones being addressed here. Earlier today I went shopping at the Holt Rd, Webster, NY store for the purpose of purchasing Potato Latka Mix and to my surprise, or lack thereof, there was none to be found. The end cap which is minimal in size was empty of the item as well as the small section in the international aisle. The two employees I spoke with were very apologetic and I assured them they were not responsible for the lack of respect given to other religious groups that do not celebrate the Christmas holiday. I was told that a shipment is expected on Thursday the 6th, and I informed the gentleman that Friday the 7th is the first night of the Hanukkah celebration. The same thing has happened with the items used for Passover Celebration. The shelves would be underwhelming with supplies and the display also minimal in size. On to the next item of business. I've noticed through the years that Wegmans is replacing named brand items with their own brand which in some cases has been underwhelming. One example I will use are the frozen broccoli heads. I've purchased them in the past under the Wegman name and found mostly stems and decided to go back to the Birds Eye brand. I much prefer to spend more on an item that is actually the item described! My husband says the bite size shredded wheat is okay, so I get him that when I haven't gone to Trader Joe's to get theirs. I've also noticed that pricing of items are on the rise each time I shop which means I shop elsewhere. It's unfortunate that I have to split my shopping up between Wegmans & two other establishments. I'm still waiting for a response to my email I sent three weeks ago regarding Wegmans doing away with brands and replacing them with their own. What a terrible experience. The first SCO cashier put in the wrong PLU for my coffee, even after I told him what to type. Then he left to get his card to unlock my register and took awhile to come back. It was an honest mistake, and he apologized for the wait. He was excellent. The actual cashier posted at SCO was a boar. I asked her to void the line item and she didn't seem to know what I meant. Then I said it is this PLU I can type it in and she got offended, she defended herself by saying loudly I DIDNT SCREW IT UP. I advised her not to get aggressive and that part of customer service is actually working with a customer to solve a problem, not assuming you're the expert in the situation where 2 associates have already failed. It's sad to see the state of such a beloved local company. read more

Wegmabs is iconic. If you are from the West coast, you have to step into a Wegman's and see how a grocery store should be. The sandwiches are delicious. There is an isle to grab and cook entreès. The craft beer section can take 45 minutes to browse or just a get mix and match 6 pack. The health food and nutrition section is pretty impressive. The best part- low prices!! So much to offer and the costs are reasonable! read more

Ah Weggies yes what to expect.. they have everything you need but be aware not every store has everything so. The entrance to get in off of Empire seemed fairly odd as most Wegmans when you pull in you see the front door. We pulled in and parked by the food court. I'll be honest, my main comparison with this Wegmans is between here, Holt Rd, and the Brockport Wegmans. I've very rarely stepped into any other Wegmans, so Eastway is going to get a top notch review since it's competition is, meh. (Unless of course you're hitting up Pittsford) I love this Wegmans for a few reasons. 1. The sushi is always ready to go and super fresh. The rolls can be a bit more expensive ($7.99-$13.99) but the quality and taste are there! I usually grab a roll, some seaweed salad ($3.99) and then some fresh spicy shrimp spring rolls ($3.99) You could always grab some Asian from the hot bar. Along with the Sushi bar, you'll find the Pizza, Sub, and soup stations. The Ciabatta bread at the Sub bar is out of this world and they recently just added some new vegetarian options with breaded portebello mushrooms. Think chicken parm sub but with mushrooms! 2. They have the child care! There is a wonderful room that is open from 11am - 6pm and will watch your FULLY potty trained children. My 5 year old daughter begs to only go to Wegmans when the child care is open. There is a TV that is usually playing a fun movie like Moana or Trolls. There is coloring stations, fun games for the kids, and even a Wii U game. Bring your ID as they will make a copy and you get a little buzzer that will alert you if your kiddo needs you. Mine has needed me for a bathroom break before. The staff that works in there are wonderful and always gives my daughter a sticker and a stamp on her way out. 3. Wonderful selection of specialty foods. As a runner, I love my protein bars, protein shakes etc. You'll find all the specialty foods here including Buff bake protein spread, lenny & larry's protein cookies, and Vega protein powder. There is a great selection of gluten free, dairy free, and vegan products as well. I can seriously walk the aisles of these specialty sections (of course while the kid is enjoying the play area) for an hour finding new items. It's always clean, the restrooms are great, and the lines have never been long. I've walked into this wegmans on some of the worst times (New Years eve, Valentines day) and the lines have never been long at all. The staff does a great job of keeping items stocked and always offering a helping hand. Just make sure that if you are coming for the hot foods, don't come any later than 6pm or you're going to get the bottom of the barrel. Although they keep some fresh salads out and the rest of the Asian food, it doesn't look that appetizing that late at night during the week. read more

If you're not familiar with Wegmans, it is an enjoyable excursion. Even Alec Baldwin endorsed Wegmans because his mom loved it. Wegmans is my main grocery store whether I'm shopping for fresh perishables, meat, all types of groceries, gift cards, household basics, and toiletries/personal care. They also have a pharmacy, Nature's Market (organic/natural foods), an international section, a recycling center, a Red Box movie rental kiosk, lotto/scratch off kiosks, a florist section, bakery, a market cafe with various types of food such as pizza, Chinese, subs, sushi, Italian, salad and olive bar and other meal selections. Some locations have a child center so that you can drop off your kids while shopping. Wegmans even has a chain of their private restaurants such as Next Door Bar & Grill and Amore Italian Restaurant. One downside is that some of their produce is not local. They sell fruit/vegs from locations as far as Cali when we have many local farms that provide as good, if not better and fresher, produce. However, Wegmans prides itself on quality so they will not sell or even display bruised/damaged foods. I did notice that they removed some of the competitors' products to sell their own brand, which happened to be at a higher price (e.g. organic almond butter). I get everything here in just one stop. Convenience and quality are their main attributes. read more

Finals week is fast approaching, and two students asked for a weekend study session. I agree to take them to the library, but realized when we arrived at 12:20 that summer hours went into effect and they were closing at 1. We decided to go somewhere else... but I couldn't decide on a quiet public place with tables and no expectation to spend a ton of money. I didn't think it would be the quietest place, but I decided that Wegmans' Market cafe would serve our needs, and so we headed over to the Eastway store. The indoor seating of the cafe was cool, not too crowded, but unfortunately EXTREMELY loud. But, this location has a GREAT outdoor seating area that is covered. It was definitely warm, but we could study in quiet. No one bothered us, and I did buy a few sodas to justify using Wegmans space. They wouldn't have cared if we hadn't bought anything. Wegmans to the rescue again! PS - only 4 stars because your music was so loud. With the din of busy shoppers, there is enough noise, I don't think you need to blast the music. read more

Always great service and great food. The baked goods, sushi, and prepared foods are all excellent. It's also a lot less crowded than the Penfield Wegman's usually is, which makes shopping a lot easier. The quality of the prepared foods has increased a lot in the past couple years. There's a lot of healthy and delicious options but they can be a bit pricey. read more

This is the secret second Mega-Wegs. It's not quite Pittsford (it doesn't have some of the particularly absurd inventory), but it's almost as good. Wide selection of cheese and olives, huge variety of snack foods including brand-name. The produce section was rather picked-over when I visited, but I imagine that's just a coincidence based on when I visited. read more

This is an excellent grocery store. The employees are friendly and the store is clean. Wegmans offers a wide variety of products, including foreign fruit. Wegmans has an excellent selection of meat and fish. Wegmans also has a small food court that offers a soup and salad bar, pizza, sushi, and sandwiches for customers. There are tables for customers to use while eating. We have purchased pizza and other food as takeout and everything is very good. I do recommend wegmans as your grocery store. read more

Definitely amongst the best supermarkets I've ever frequented in my life even outside of Rochester. Very clean and helpful staff. Well lit area. Can be a bit overwhelming when you first shop there but if you go routinely you'll get used to. They seem to have everything here! My only quip about the Webster version is I like how the Penfield version cafe area is set up a little bit better. They have 2 floors for eating along with separate rooms for meetings (I believe if you have a good amount of people for an organized event, you have to notify them in advance and there might be a minor charge). In this Webster version, it's one huge eating area. 2 floors just adds a bit more to the coziness for me. And by no means is it work knocking down a star rating. I made an enormous mistake by purchasing the already prepared chicken breasts. I believe it was $14 for four of them and one of them seemed much smaller than the other 3. I can't remember if they used to sell that package for $12 or maybe the same price but with extra breasts. Either way it was the biggest Wegmans ripoff since the clever $6 meal increases of 2017. ($7,$8,$9, etc) the prices are so high for mediocre quality. I have grown up with Wegmans my whole life, it's a beautiful store, I just wish I didn't have to pay such a premium just because it's Wegmans. read more

Everything is clean but you have to be careful of kids running around wild. The other day I saw a young girl pushing her even younger brother in a cart real fast and just whipping around the corners without even looking to see if there was someone there first. There was an adult man with them but he was just letting them act that way. Someone is going to get seriously hurt unless Wegmans steps up with a policy forbidding this type of behavior. read more

I live on the west side. Eastway Wegmans is about 15 minutes instead of the normal 5 for me to Mt. Read. However I make the trip to this location due to the selection of produce and the vast varieties in the Natures Market. They have far more selections that caters to Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Vegan. I pretty much shop in the product section, Natures Market and then the bulk section for rice. The customer service is is far superior to the locations on the west side that are close to me. I feel that this location goes above and beyond. I know wegmans can be expensive at times, but I do expect fantastic service to go along with that price. I have no problem driving to get the products I need. God forbid I would have to move where there is not a wegmans. Praise be to the wegmans empire. I'd be lost with out them! read more

This is MY Wegmans. I worked here as a teen, went here every weekend for bagels and muffins and I still come here to this day, every time I'm in the ROC visiting my family. As time goes on Wegmans continues to dominate. It has made it as far as Northern Virginia where mega-Wegmans crushes the competition. However, this Wegmans is the best - many memories and reminds me what a real grocery store has - convenience, customer service, quickness, fresh foods and a loyal following. It is a bit unfortunate/silly that Wegmans in Maryland and Virginia are becoming a circus/amusement park and less like a grocery store but again, Wegmans is still the best grocery store in the world. It is a relief to come back to Rochester from a long vacation and get the stuff you need easily. I know some people hate Wegmans, and I am sometimes frustrated with the fact that they don't have a lot of brand stuff anymore, but then I go to visit someone in Florida or Connecticut, and I realize I am spoiled. The quality and variety of products we get on Wegmans is rarely matched by other supermarkets. Yes the prices are higher, but I feel the value is there. I do not buy a lot of vegetables there, unless the weather is too cold for the Market, and the meat selection can be too limited, but for every day stuff, Wegmans can't be beat! read more

There is a reason this Wegmans is located on a road called Empire Blvd...it is because Wegmans is an EMPIRE. Not at all like the Star Wars version but more of a corporate empire, a good one nevertheless. If you know anything about Wegmans, it's that it delivers great food, wonderful service, and...good prices. That is what makes up Empire Wegmans. For those who don't know what a Wegmans is like, you usually walk straight into the produce area which depending on what time of day you go, will be filled with people trying to get the best fruits and vegetables or, it will be somewhat packed but not as severe if you go on weekday. Moving on from there you then have the meat and bakery items, all mostly Wegmans. On the plus side, depending on your taste buds, you will either love them or on rare occasions, dislike them. Me? I love Wegmans bakery goods like thier muffins and donuts and thier steaks are heavenly! Past this, you have your milk and dairy, junk food and boxed food aisles along with the Wegmans Organic line for those vegetarians and others who like organic food other processed food. All in all, they are nicely organized and are easy to locate. The frozen foods are greatly stocked and shelved in organized freezers...despite the freezers sometimes squeaking but if that is the only issue I have with this Wegmans, I shouldn't be complaining. Wegmans is one of the best, but this Empire Blvd. Branch is now easily in the Top Five in my opinion. read more

This is the Wegmans that is closest to home. I'm here multiple times a week and have never had a bad experience. Wegmans' employees are always helpful. The employees in the cheese department have offered samples to help us narrow down what we like and dislike. The checkout workers always have a smile. It's clear that they enjoy working here. The Wegmans app is useful. It's great when you need to find something, just enter it into the app and it gives you the aisle location. Super useful! read more

San Francisco is the land of Safeway. Safeway lifestyle stores are based on Wegmans. Therefore (based on awesome logic) Wegmans must be the Mecca of grocery stores. Somehow that makes sense and is true. I came here today to pick up a few things and was thoroughly impressed by most sections. What impressed me most was the beer and all the vegan options around the store. The beer sections was awesome. Tons of local craft beers separated into what region they are from (organization is super important). There were some really awesome beers. I picked up a local Java Stout in a Bomber and can't wait to drink it. There were lots of vegan options around the store, more than most mainstream stores. They had Daiya next to Veganrella, it was like a dream of the happy variety. It would be nice if the bakery used less egg wash and honey in their bread to make them more vegan friendly. My only gripe was the lack of dry bulk. There was a little section, but not a lot. There are bulk teas, ollives, candy, and certain grains and cereals. I did not see bulk beans, pastas, and flours in bulk. I highly recommend the bulk section of Abundance Co-op for all your bulk shopping needs, their bulk rocks. I would recommend shopping here, you will not be disappointed in the selection or quality. read more

Never go to this wegmans before 6.. They put on one cashier that happens to be the slowest cashier they have.. There is always two to three people in line vying enough food for six months.. The last three times they had to go find a manager to help them! Wegman's has all the groceries you could reasonably want. It costs more than Walmart but you get what you pay for in quality. I also recommend their buffet if you are in the mood for a lot of different things. read more

Love the store but the take out meals section is something else. I bought pulled pork and when I got home, the pork was in large chunks with fat and grizzle going through it, not edible! Just bought today their grilled chicken salad and the same thing, large chunks of chicken (I think) with hard grizzle! At 8.99 a lb., sorry but I expect better! As far as their front customer service, the people could be a little more personable. The cashiers need to always put meat in separate bags, and not jam the bags full of groceries so they're so heavy to lift and easy to break. Best grocery store in these united states! No kidding. Exceptional in almost every measure. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. You need to check out their flagship store on Monroe Avenue in Pittsford, NY. Most stores have a sub shop and prepared food that you can eat in the store. All employees are top notch. Their larger superstores (such as the Pittsford store) offer cooking classes and have a super-deep selection of products. The produce is perfect. Like the other wegmana locations, They keep removing brands and replacing with their owm which often are not good quality. The don't do anything about cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the bulk food areas. The food scoops are often dirty and they allow people to go and scoop pieces by hand. Food is at a level where children (and adults) can take what they want. Food safety does not seem to be a concern. read more
